Gift for @pixelchills!
CW: thunderstorms implied part abuse (although very brief and no detail) (Just a silly little drabble I wrote last week at 5AM that I thought thought cute. On with the show!)
"L-luan?" Solros whispered, shaking his boyfriend gently. It was only 11:26, but he needed him. "Mm…Solros?" He said. "What's-" Suddenly, a loud thunder stick came from above, lighting up the room.
"Oh…oh, babe," Luan said. "I'm sorry, I totally forgot about the storm! Are you okay?"
Solros whimpered in response, hiding onto of Luan's shirt. Luan gently rubbed his head and kissed one of his petals. Solros always hated loud noises. Reminders of his life before Luan were tough. Because of this fear, Luan and his family tried to get rid of all things loud. But they couldn't get rid of storms. Usually Luan would try and stay up with Solros, keeping him calm until he eventually went to sleep. But this time, he forgot. Poor Solros.
."Hey," Luan whispered. Solros finally pried away from Luan's shirt, which to him was the safest place to be.
"I'm here. I'm not going to let anything bad happen to you, okay? You're safe with me." Solros smiled, looking a bit brighter, when thunder struck again. He hides in Luan's shirt again, making Luan giggle.
"Sweetheart, which is safer? Me or my shirt?" He teases, earning a giggle from Solros. Solros pulls away, resting his head on Luan's shoulder. Luan kissed his forehead gently.
"Now if you get scared, you can-" Thunder crackles above, causing Solros to snuggle into Luan's neck, causing a slight ticklish feeling.
"Sol!" He giggled. "Don't do that so fast!"Solros giggled, not saying anything. He fell silent for a bit, before Luan looked down, smiling.
"Oh, Solros" he whispered, looking at his adorable boyfriend asleep on his shoulder. Thunder cracked again, but it didn't really bother either of them. Both were happy, especially now that they had each other. For forever and beyond

Based on the dream I had last night...
The story of Human "Sunrise" turning into an Animutant is too far from FNAF to be considered an AU anymore, so here, meet my original characters; Solros (prev. Sundae) and Luan. (Still thinking about surnames...)
Personalities are pretty much like Sunrise and Moondrop from the Animutant AU.
Solros is innocent and anxious, yet always trying his best. Despite his hard past and abuse, he has a golden heart and doesn't want to upset anyone.
Luan is a bit shy, he loves books and astrology. He is kind and sweet to those he cares about but quite introverted and 'cold' towards people he doesn't trust or know. His name comes from the Portuguese word "Lua" which means moon.

How about these as my brain wouldn’t stop thinking about these the other day. If these questions are annoying or bothersome just let me know and I’ll stop. XD;
Does the virus start mutation as the person is dying or does it only mutate once the heart is stopped? Is the mutation instantaneous or does it take a few minutes?
I’m pretty sure you answered where the genetics come from for the mutation, but is it only at the point of death or is it something the person was near a lot while alive?
(I have this adorable idea that a pet was very protective over Luan’s mom while she was pregnant, as pets are wont to do, and that’s where he got his fierce teeth and cute ears when he mutated… probably not even close though…)
Or is the mutation stuff just ✨science✨ and I need to stop overthinking it? ^^; sorry.
Also: for some reason my brain keeps translating the hair Solros has on his petals like cat whiskers… is just human hair, or is it like cat whiskers? Pretty sure you said it was hair… But my brain goes: “o but petals are sensitive, and cat whiskers are sensitive, is cat whiskers?” And then I just get confused. Lol.
Aaa, no worries, I like to answer any sorts of wonders people might have about my characters or story! So I'll try to answer these the best I can:
Does the virus start mutation as the person is dying or does it only mutate once the heart is stopped? Is the mutation instantaneous or does it take a few minutes?
The mutation starts when the person's heart stops entirely, and a person can be legally pronounced dead. The mutation process takes some time, usually a few hours as all the body cells mutate and renew themselves. Usually, the person feels like they're having a weird dream.
Is it only at the point of death or is it something the person was near a lot while alive? (For the genetics)
Neither! The genetics come from whoever in the bloodline was alive in the 1960s when the radiated rain came down. For example, someone along Solros' bloodline was probably near yellow daffodils or daisies, thus absorbing the characteristics of that flower into their DNA. Only people who happened to be out and hit by that rain absorbed things from their surroundings to themselves. Then these things got mixed when two people carrying the mutated DNA had a child... etc!
Solros's hair to be whiskers?
Sorry to break your bubble, but they're not like whiskers :D Since the petals are part of his head, his hair kind of just grows all around them. The parts of the hair that are "stuck" in the middle of the petals are still soft like hair, but they're meant to look a bit more like flower stamens.

What’s up, Current content & Original story starting point
Hey guys! I’m getting back on track with the move now over, and I have my full focus on art and writing again!
I know many of you are getting a bit impatient with the lack of updates on my fics - which is fair, they’ve been without new chapters for a few months now! However, I have been very busy with a lot of other stuff (travels, moving, crafting the dolldrops), and my focus seems to always be on one thing at a time, which hasn’t been the stories of ANSSW or MDD for the moment.
This doesn’t mean I’m abandoning them. The updates will just be a little slower since I write those stories when I feel like it. The reason why the Prequel was written so quickly, was because it was my main focus at the time. I have ADHD, I tend to hyperfocus on one thing for a while, then move to the next. Right now, my focus has been on the Helper Bot AU, commission work, and my original story of Dreamflower.
I might be able to go back to hyperfocusing on ANSSW and MDD, but as for now, they’re getting updates whenever I feel like it. The fics are content I give you guys for free, as art and writing is mostly just my hobby (excluding Patreon and commissions). And since I’m not working this summer, I’m doing commissions. So technically they’re my summer job, lol. So work comes first, and fanfics a bit later.
I am a disabled person with long-term fatigue. There are many days when I can’t make content at all because of how tired I am. And since I have so many projects and AUs and interests (most of them circling around Sun and Moon though), sometimes I’m more focused on other projects than I am on the others. So sorry about that!
This is not what I wanted to talk about, though. Just to give a little heads-up on what’s going on behind the screen!
My genuine wonders lie within the original story of Dreamflower right now, and I would love to hear your opinion on this.
I know most of you follow me for my Sun & Moon stories and AUs, but I can genuinely tell you if you like my storytelling, LGBTQ+ themes, with angst and fluff; I think you’ll enjoy the story of Luan and Solros a lot, since they are based on my Animutant Moon and Sun after all!
While building the story and its characters, and besides a few Tumblr ask answers and drawings, I am really eager to tell their story and work on the universe with you. But right now it all seems to be still stuck in my head and drawers.
I really wish to make Dreamflower into a Webtoon one day. But to get there, I need to get faster at drawing, and figure out the story fully before I can start drawing it. Besides being a visually driven person, I’m also really wordy (ADHD trait, I talk even more than I write). So writing a comic script from scrap, where I need to keep the story moving at a good pace, seems like a lot of work to my wordy brain.
So, I wondered: what if I write first and then script the comic from there?
This way I would be able to get the story out and delivered - with as many words as my heart desires - while also being able to publish content about my original story.
Of course, this would push back the actual starting point of the comic itself, but I have realised this story and its universe are a passion project of mine; I don’t really care how long it takes, since I’m mostly doing it in my free time anyway.
So I have a few options I’d like you to help me pick out from:
Write the story of Dreamflower in the order it should be told, and publish it to AO3. Currently, there wouldn’t be an ending point, since the story itself continues far after where the Webtoon would end.
Same thing, but publish future scenarios/oneshots to Tumblr or AO3 separately too (usually these scenes take place after Solros and Luan have started dating, and they would appear in the main story if you’d like me to keep them secret until in that part of the story.)
Most likely, similar to ANSSW & MDD, I would include art in each chapter for visuals. I’ve found this type of content creation very appealing to myself, as it allows me to both tell a story and draw a scene from the story without it becoming overwhelming like a comic.
So, any thoughts on this? Which way would be a good way to go?
Thanks for reading! I hope you’re having a good summer! (Or winter if you live on the other side of the globe! c:)
I'll be taking a little break again next month when travelling again, but I'll mention that again a bit closer to the date! Just wanted to give a little notice of what’s going on at the moment!

Oh my god that's how Solros and Luan became mutants? Do people know that death is the trigger? If so that's a lot of emotional damage to wake up and be like "I died"
They do and they don't.
Usually people who have experienced it don't realise it, because the 'death' is often very short, and the heart is only stopped for a few seconds before it starts beating again. So technically not long enough to even say that someone's dead.
Humans know very little about the mutation itself. People who have witnessed it (from outside) share one of two most common beliefs:
1. Either an alien has entered their body and taken over the brain, and that's how they want to take over the Earth. (Government propaganda)
2. Many religions believe that the devil/evil entity has send his demons to take over those human bodies and is now resting their families faith etc etc. (Religious propaganda)
Of course there are people who do not believe in either of these, like Luan's family and many other families who have decided to keep their mutated children after birth.

What about for your Moons? Do you have a favorite one of them?
It's the same sort of issue, the Moon's I'm writing as of current are usually on top of my list and then it changes :D
But again, if I need to choose an all time favourite the I think it might be my Animutant Moondrop. (Sorry all of my other Moons ily<3)
I think I've achieved such a complex character with Animutant Moondrop, how he is so tough and almost unbreakable from being beaten up by life, but how soft and tender he can turn out to be as soon as his Sunshine steps into the picture. He has always been my favourite character to write.
In one moment he can be so tough and non-phased about killing zombies or getting his way around the rules, and then when Sun steps into the room he's around him like a puddle of hot chocolate, letting his weaknesses show and the scars of his mind be open and bleeding because he feels so safe to be vulnerable with Sunrise.
From Moon-based OCs my favourite is Luan, for the same reasons as I stated for Solros.
Luan is a bit of a reflection of my own struggles in early adulthood, not being able to make friends and feeling like I wasn't really appreciated at all, because being kind isn't something most people find respectable in real life, and I was often taken advantage of.
So I wanted to make a character who was kind to the extreme to someone they thought deserved all of their kindness, while still remaining stable and holding boundaries for others. And I think Luan chose the right person to pour his heart in. X3

Hi there! So you mentioned that parents would be payed by some governments to kill the mutants, while others would just kill them themselves. So my question is, what is it like for an adoption process? Would it even be legal, since they seem to be considerably worth less than humans, So I don't imagine many would want to, but I'd think that alot of people who didn't have the heart to kill or let them be killed, but didn't want them would just abandon them. So, like- if someone were to hypothetically adopt every single mutants on earth, how would that work, if it even would?
Xx
Well, obviously the parents are not gonna see the execution, so if they wanted to give a mutant baby for adoption instead it might end up just the same way.
A better choice would be to either know someone who would be willing to adopt a mutant and do a non-government-funded adoption after keeping the baby. So technically taking care of the matter yourself.
I bet there are some people who adopt a lot of Animutant babies just for the heart of it, and a lot of them might be mutant couples. I was actually thinking that in the far future, when Luan and Solros are married, they'll adopt one or two mutant babies just for the sake of giving them a chance of life.
Need to remember that mutant babies are not like cats or dogs, but humans, with their baby needs just as demanding, so trying to adopt shit loads of mutants is not gonna go any better than trying to adopt shit loads of human babies/kids; all of them have their individual needs and challenges that need to be met and considered, while trying to let them grow into adults with all the difficulties the world causes them.
