You have successfully downloaded the Harry Potter film series update 2.0!
Below are some of the changes that have been made:
The entire Weasley family is treated with respect
It is now made very clear that Harry and Hermione see each-other as siblings and nothing more
Ron Weasley now has his correct personality, mannerisms, and character developments in place (this was left out in the original format)
Hermione Granger has human flaws
Harry Potter is now in possession of the book-accurate level of sass
‘Calmly’ means ‘calmly’ this time
Ginny Weasley now has a personality
Hermione’s bushy hair will now remain consistent throughout all of the films
Ron’s jokes are witty rather than irritating
Charlie Weasley exists
Tonks has her backstory and character arc restored to its original setting
Ron Weasley has his greatest moments restored to him (most of them were mistakenly given to Hermione in the previous format)
Lavender Brown’s ethnicity will not automatically change to ‘white Caucasian’ when she becomes integral to the plot
The Marauders have their original ages restored (there was a system error last time, which left them all looking middle-aged)
Harry and Hermione don’t start quasi-romantically dancing randomly to a Nick Cave song (we think this might have been a computer bug)
Steve Kloves will not be allowed anywhere near the production

If JK Rowling wanted to say that Harry should have married someone other than Ginny, she really should have said Luna.
Instead of the person that Harry considered an adoptive sister. Ew.

I’m sorry, but the HP series is from Harry’s perspective. If he had fancied Hermione at any time, we probably would have known about it.

I bet you Steve Kloves loved the bit in GOF where everyone thought Hermione was Harry’s girlfriend.

For the Hogwarts ask, 3, 9, and 26 please
3: Butterbeer, fire whisky, or pumpkin juice? Pumpkin juice. Butterbeer is apparently really sugary (not my thing), I don’t drink alcohol so Fire-Whisky is out, and I quite like fruit-juices. Pumpkin juice it is.
9: Notp? Harmony (Harry x Hermione). I always saw them as siblings. Also, a small minority of people who ship them tend to like bashing Ron (leave my ginger baby alone!). No disrespect to those who ship them, but it’s not my cup of tea.
26: Lowkey ships? Deamus (I’m pretty sure everyone ships these two), Larvati (these two deserve some happiness after all they went through), and Perciver (they were room-mates for seven years, and I like their dynamic).
Thanks for the asks, @accioqueer!

#9 Notp?
Harry x Hermione. I always considered them to be siblings, and I’ve never quite understood why people think that they could have worked as a couple, since their personalities don’t react well together.
Don’t get me wrong, when I first read PS/SS, I thought the bit where Hermione hugged Harry was very cute. But it was in an innocent, ‘11-year-old boy gets embarrassed because his female friend hugged him’ kind-of-way. Nothing especially romantic.
The series is from Harry’s perspective. If he had ever fancied Hermione, we probably would have heard about it.
I don’t have any massive problems with the ship itself (they have a canonical caring, close relationship), but a small minority of those who ship it have a habit of bashing Ron Weasley, and dismissing Hermione’s feelings for Ron as ‘he could never make her happy’.  Which I think is just being rude about the characters. This small minority remind me of people who assume that it’s impossible for opposite-gender friendships to exist without romance getting involved.
I think that the HP film series had a serious impact on how many in the fandom viewed Harry and Hermione’s relationship (as well as Ron and Hermione’s). The films based their friendship around the idea that the trio are in the Hollywood ‘hero, heroine, sidekick’ mould, rather than ‘Harry, and his two friends who happened to fall in love’.
No disrespect to those who ship it, but it’s not my cup of tea.

Why I don’t ship Harmony
I’ve made it clear in the past that I don’t ship Harmony (Harry x Hermione). I’ve nothing against the pairing- I can kind-of understand why people like it. The main male protagonist ending up with the main female protagonist is a common-place event in a lot of media. Harry Potter is unusual as a franchise in popular culture where this didn’t happen, although the film series certainly hinted at it (thanks, Kloves).
However, when I think about Harmony as a thing, I don’t see two people in love.
My attention is drawn off-panel (as it were) to one tall, ginger-haired man somewhere off at the side; his heart breaking.

Okay, did anyone-else think the Harry and Hermione dance scene in ‘Deathly Hallows part 1′ made absolutely no sense story-wise?
So, Ron’s left them, they’re both miserable and freezing in a tent, and then- suddenly they’re dancing like grandparents at a wedding?
I wouldn’t be surprised if Steve Kloves added this bit just to satisfy his Harmony cravings, because it completely messes with the mood of the rest of the film. It also implies that Harry and Hermione got along fine without Ron, even though (in the books at least), they barely spoke to each-other unless they had to.
Also, another thought- this means that, in the films, Hermione danced with Viktor Krum and Harry but not Ron. Maybe that was what Kloves was going for, but I might just be overthinking this.
No disrespect to Harmony shippers, I just don’t understand why it was included.

How that scene should have gone...
Dumbledore: What about your activities outside the classroom? You and Miss Granger are very close. I was wondering if you two were...
Harry: ...
Harry: Ew. Professor, she is basically my adopted sister.
Dumbledore: I am sorry. I didn't realise-
Harry: (retching) I think I'm gonna throw up...

Random person: Mr Kloves, I noticed that these film scripts give a lot of Ron's best moments to Hermione, as well as giving Harry and Hermione a lot of not-quite-strictly-platonic moments. What's up with that?
Steve Kloves: Oh that's easy. You see, the thing is (Harmony fan-art falls out of his pocket). No- honestly, there is a genuine-(as he trying to pick up the art, several 'I hate Ron Weasley' badges slip out of his jacket)-HONESTLY, YOU'RE JUST SEEING THINGS- (an enormous hard-drive labelled 'Harmony fanfiction' drops out of his sleeve) I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!

I haven’t got a problem with people shipping different characters together, and changing canon to make different couples.
I just think Steve Kloves took it too far.

Hermione: (whilst the 'Goblet of Fire' film) I don't remember having a chat with Harry before the first task...is this a new addition or something....oh, now I see why....urgh, that makes me feel uncomfortable.....
