Trying to remember if anyone but Jade saw the carapacians as people. I mean Karkat thought Jack was cool before you know what, I don't know if I can really say John considering he just called them stupid later on along with Roxy. Rose spoke too a few while grimdark but I don't feel like there's much to say there, I don't even remember other characters even interacting with them. I don't count Dave either despite his thing with Wayward Vagabond, WV didn't even speak and Dave just coddled him, kissed him too. No one talks about that, no one talks about how weird that this 16 year old is snuggling up with with this black midget who's way older than him. The carapaces may act eccentric but they aren't brain dead and work really well in groups, even then they're perfectly capable of completing tasks on their own. WVs entire personality was zapped from him, no one bursts of anger or determination just Dave's lil cutie pie.

And i think in the epilogues it was stated Jade fucked a few, this is what they are now, just little playthings for everyone else. Ngl

Proof of smart Carapacians isn't limited to just Wayward Vagabond, they forget Peregrine Mendicant, Aimless Renegade, Black Queen, Jack Noir/Sovereign Slayer, Draconian Dignitary, Courtyard Droll, and Hegemonic Brute, with the latter being the Midnight Crew and Snowman later on. Jade may had seen them as people, at least when she and her dream self had been connected. Because they were the only other people she could meet and interact in person, even if it's just on Prospit and when she's asleep. Jade was also close to the White Queen and PM. But by Act 6 and Post Retcon, she barely spoke much with them. We don't even know what happened to PM besides assumingly she died with Wayward Vagabond on Earth C. Roxy at best just had sympathy for them as she didn't want to shoot the black chess guys who were trying to eat her cats. But after that, we don't know much later on if she still cares for them on Earth C or lets them be because since there is not a threat anymore, she has no reason to really look after them. But yeah, Carapacians are just backdrops for the humans and trolls. Same applies to the consorts, who are nothing more than just mindless animals. Who the fuck is Casey Viceroy Bubbles Von Salamancer? Their thoughts and opinions on the matter of Earth C don't mean shit.

You, you think this is a very personal question but you decide to answer it anyways, you start with the obvious stuff which everyone knows. You feel like you need to complete your goal, your fate, even if things will go wrong, it's not like there's anything you can do. You just have to keep flying, and flying once you escape this place. That is your fate, you have to be the villain, though... you are beginning to feel doubt at this, this villain thing, this objective, there's nothing else you can do....

But why does it feel so wrong?

You continue speaking, continuing to talk about your fate though... you also feel wrong physically, as if something is physically off with your body, something does not feel RIGHT. But you can't tell what.

It's just this stupid irritating, HELLACIOUS feeling that occurs, whenever you look at yourself, see your body, whenever you are called a man, dude or guy. Whenever you think about what you would look like in your old clothes. Like it's objectively correct but why does it feel so OFF, and unshakably wrong.

His Vampires are also from Twilight but they don't sparkle and their blood isn't Venomous .

His magic users while fitting multiple tropes from multiple fandoms. Are somewhat original.

His D(a)emons are from True Blood.

And The Sovereign's are from Buffy the Vampire slayer/Angel.

I dunno. It just feels weird knowing he claims it's all his own original ideas and never acknowledges it's origins.

Here’s a question: how do you suppose Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun from Slayers would interact with Lord Vetinari from Discworld. I’ve recently gotten into both. I mean, Amelia did gung-ho about spreading truth, justice, and the Seyruunian way and Lord Vetinari is a tyrannical despot, albeit an incredibly subtle one. I could see Amelia being … perturbed by Vetinari legalizing the Thieve’s and Assassins’ guilds but he does run the city very efficiently. Plus Amelia is the sort to be generally diplomatic, so I don’t think she’d pull a carrot and try to bring him to justice. Come to think of it, I could see Vetinari treating Amelia similarly to how he treats Carrot, though I haven’t gotten far enough to know how they interact. I do think he’d be fairly diplomatic, after all, this is the princess of a sovereign nation. I have to wonder if he’d pull out all the intimidating stops though. Come to think of it, considering the stuff Amelia’s seen during her adventures and her interactions with Xellos, would she be particularly intimidated by the Patrician? Actually, now that I think about it, how would Vetinari deal with someone like Luna running around? Food for thought.

Here’s an Observation.

Jack Noir is the only Carapacian with a full on name, making him comparable to the Players (who also have full names--in fact, they’re the only ones in Homestuck to be refered to by full on names). This makes him equal to a Player in the eyes of Homestuck’s Narrative Causality. The reason for this might be why in every SBURB game, he simply goes to talk to the players about getting back at the Black Queen.

However.

He can actually lose this quality, and all examples of Jack Noir do lose it.

One of the many, many things that Homestuck is about, is the idea of individuality. (Homestuck is about many things--it actually gives you a list, the Aspects; All one needs to do is look at Homestuck through the lense of one of the Aspects).

You can be an individual, or you can be a Title. Individuals struggle with the shenanigans of the world, for they don’t truely fit any molds it provides. While Those with Titles do fit a mold, but they lose their individuality to the title / role / mold they play.

Some can adapt to this--Carapacians are nothing but their titles / roles, but they can grow with them, adapt them.

Jack Noir does not. His title is a restriction because of his Player like qualities. If he fits a role, he loses those player qualities.

As Spades Slick, whilst adaptable, he ultimately ended up a tool for ending the Troll Universe and then died a forgotten death later.

As Sovereign Slayer, who was instrumental in bringing about the GREEN SUN, ultimately just a pawn in a bigger game, playing the Cancer and slaying (nearly) everybody he came into contact with, but turned tail the moment his role was finished (Something that Spades Slick never did.)

As Union Jack, which was basically an outright possession by Lord English, voiding everything about Jack...

All this brings the idea that maybe, just maybe, it might be possible to rise Jack Noir to outright Player in a session. It’d probably take longer than the game can give... or players are willing to give.

Let’s face it, he’s kind of a violent asshole probably comes with a warning: Needs handling with a full reinforced body suit.

ADDENDUM

# Evidence found when comparing Vriska, Meenah and Jack Noir, as well as his association with Kismesistude and its association with the Rage Aspect, suggests that Jack himself is a Thief of Rage.

... Which makes getting him to cooperate its going to be an adventure in of itself, given what we know about Thief classes.
