5. Their most favorite map/place in general?

She has a soft spot for Queensdale, it's where she grew up! Close enough to the city for fun days out with friends as a teen, but far enough out to get some peace and quiet.

20. Could they ever go back to their old life? Would they want to?

She would VERY much like to go back to her old life. I haven't ironed out her whole plot yet, but I know this process is very jarring for her and it's taking some getting used to. Thankfully the other Exalted are still around to help the transition, but with a new body comes unfamiliar things that'll take some time to come to terms with.

27. How does your character normally deal with confrontation?

If Cody's stuck in a confrontational situation (should be noted that she, generally, doesn't go looking for them), she's absolutely going to face it and deal with it. She's had to deal with enough people doubting her in her life (and, later on, enough people saying not-so-great stuff about sylvari in general and her best friend Niko in particular) that she's no stranger to confrontation, and she's not afraid of it either.

36. How does your character behave around people they dislike?

Unless she's in the middle of a job/mission and Has to be professional, if you're someone you dislike, you're going to know it. Again, she's not going to seek out a confrontation with someone she dislikes, but she'll absolutely ignore/stay away from them as much as is practical and deal with a confrontation if a situation ends up that way. She doesn't remotely try to be subtle when it comes to her opinions of others.

It's not exactly common for those of us in the High Legions to commit to monogamy--our turnover rate is a little high for that kind of commitment to anyone outside our warbands themselves. 2. What's their class/elite spec? Weapon of choice? Did they purposely train for it or did it just sort of happen?

Maliac's a mesmer, more specifically a mirage, but has dabbled in virtuoso some as well! He's most comfortable fighting with an axe & torch, but he does also carry a dagger and staff! (Which will someday be Nevermore, I swear it-) His mother, Fenella, is a necromancer and didn't know how to go about teaching a mesmer, so she kind of just handed him one of her spare axes and he figured something out from there. She's probably also where he got a fondness for daggers from, since she uses those as well!

13. How recognizable are they? Do they have a reputation?

When he's out doing stuff for Raven, or to help out Shamans, he often has his raven helm and mesmer'd wings, making him very recognizable. Although when he's just chilling, the helm stays at home and the wings only come out for gliding! There are some places where he's definitely well-known without them, such as Halla's Orphanage, but for the most part he's kept himself on the down-low to have a more peaceful life than his past. The Shamans that he works with on occasion are well-aware of his Courtier past, and so is Halla. He's a bit of a staple of the orphanage now since he helps out a lot and the kids think he's super fun to be around! His reputation now would be as a kind-hearted and helpful soul. No one who meets him today would think that he used to be deep in the Nightmare Court.

(As for his Courtier reputation, for fun: his mother, Fenella, is a Duchess of the Court, and he was never good at the violence aspect of the life. There were many times that she pulled him out of trouble or had him protected because of other Dukes & Duchesses looking to damage her by harming him. Surviving in the Court for so long eventually made him very good at diplomacy, though!)

20. Could they ever go back to their old life? Would they want to?

He could go back to the Court, but his mother would be pissed, his sister would be upset, and his other sibling would kick his ass for re-entering. :D The idea of going back definitely doesn't strike his fancy though, he's quite happy with how he gets to live now!

🕰️ Has there been an event that happened in your OCs past that affects their future or one that they think about still? Is this a bad event or a good one? What are a few of their childhood memories they can recall?

Junkos past relatively chill (unless i suddenly come up with a reason for it to not be chill, revenant related problems perhaps) but I guess the greatest shift in their life was when they met Rhea! Not only did they suddenly meet someone who could actually hear the echoes they had careried around with themselves their whole life, but Rhea also fueled their passion for music even more. That very first moment of meeting eachother, the first glimpse they got of her, thats probably a moment so important to Junko, something that they think about frequently, if they want to admit it or not.

For childhood memories, I think some key moments are things like getting their first bass, seeing a band they love, little things like that. One of their older brothers is with the pact and was there for the Zhaitan battle, so seeing him come back from that and celebrating the dragons death must have been pretty big! Youd probably expect the whole revenant echo stuff to be a big moment too but to be quite honest, Junko doesnt remember when it even started.

🗺️ Does your OC like going on adventures? Have they ever discovered something really interesting and significant or are they just too busy getting lost? Where is their favourite place they’ve been? Least favourite?

Junko always wanted to go out and explore the world! After all thats why theyre on world tour right now :D While the original plan for that tour was to see the world and relax a bit, and maybe sightseeing, things got out of hand and they ended up being a local hero helping the people they meet with the dangers the dragons and other terrors left behind. SO it's less "checking out these nice places <3" and more "yooo while i was hunting down the nightmare court we found this really sick cave! couldn't stay too long tho cause i got poisoned on the way in and Rhea was also on the verge of bleeding out, but we'll check it again some day :)"

One of Junkos favourite places must've been the black citadel and Charr areas in geneal as well as cantha. The citadel of its very cool badass metal architecture, and Cantha because- We'll they cant hekp but feel at home there. Like something flipped in their head when they got there. Meanwhile, their current least favourite place is Kryta, maybe just because theyre very sick of it :')

💍 Does your OC have a specific item that is priceless to them but may (or may not) be completely worthless to someone else? Is there a story behind this item or is it just because they like it so much?

Rhea likes to carry around some nice sharp looking things she finds! She likes little shiny pointy stuff :) also, she is a medium and comes across some haunted objects every now and then and decides to keep them for a bit to bring them to a place where the spirits can find happiness. a lot of the time, these objects are just little mundane things, junk items. most people don't even know that they carry a spirit in them, so when people see her carry around a vase for days they wouldnt know that theres a lost spirit sitting in there waiting to be carried to their favourite place or familys house.

and of course, this is Rhea we are talking about, and she definetly has some kind of gift from Junko that she treasures so deeply. Maybe its a piece of jewelry, some kind of ring or chain or something, but no matter what it is, it means the world to her and she'd just explode if she were to lose it- for rather obvious reasons <3

Ioxxi used to be part of the Inquest after Rata Sum kicked her out for Trying To Possess Herself With A Demon crimes, she'd still be there if Hosea didn't offer her a better deal.

Ichabod is a wannabe Lunatic Court member. Sends loves letters to Mad King Thorn every year. They never get answered.

6. How do they celebrate the holidays, if at all?

Pouchong doesn't celebrate holidays. Too many people, too busy. Tesco Stan and Zohdi on the other hand commit terrible decisions and eat too much candy until they puke like children. Hosea's only there if he gets to fight people/watch fighting.

15. What would they be doing if they weren't the commander/whatever they are?

Man if Hosea wasn't commander I think he'd just be feeling the constant battle itch. No fight is good enough, glorious enough, enough to stretch his abilities. I really dunno what he'd be if not the Commander.

Mozzerela would be some kind of teacher in Rata Sum, combatting the toxic work enviroment there. Doing workshops on how if you can work together and be nice to each other, it'd be better for your Krewe! And probably getting laughed at by other Asura for being too naive or whatever

⚖️ What is the biggest crime your OC has committed? Are they a thief, a cheat, a liar? What is the smallest, most petty crime they’ve committed? Or do they not do crime at all?

I think the biggest crime he’s ever committed is probably just stealing something by accident (before he remembered currency was a thing), oh and definitely Destruction of Public property at some point but LOOK I Was being Attacked! And Instinctively just well.. Set on fire!”

That being said, Link is a big time liar, it’s not compulsive, he just lies when he knows it’s going to make certain things less hard on him, which can be a lot of things. 

Being asked if you have experience with something that you have to do a job? Lie, I need the job/money!  

Handsome warrior I meet wants to take me back to the Grove?  Lie! No way I’m going back there! 

Someone asks if you’re feeling alright? LIE! If they know I have a chronic condition they might make me stop doing the things I want to do! 

🎨 Is your OC artistic? Can they draw or paint or do they prefer another medium? Are they a writer or musician or do they do something else? Give us a quick run down of what they can get creative with!

I could definitely see Link as being a pretty good writer, he’s definitely the type who likes to write down the things he’s seen or learned, maybe less in a personal diary format but more in an objective way? 

He loves to dance but I don’t think he’s really the best at it… 

Another thing I could see him doing a bit is actually singing. I don’t know if he’d be amazing but I could really see him finding it as a way to express his emotions without actually being direct about what’s going on and instead speaking through the lyrics and tone of the song.

What's their tragic backstory?

I'll go with Ita, the current Champion of Aurene!

She's one of Papaver's and @duskroot's Caradoc's kids, and while not being born out of Pale Tree, she did get a wyld hunt of her own: a vision of a beautiful, radiant Crystal nestled between snowy mountains. It doesn't take long for the parents to put two and two together, and so, introductions between Ita and Aurene happen.

Somewhere after the Icebrood Saga, she begins her training under Caithe and rest of the Crystal Blooms, and things are going well! You know, until Ankka shows up to kidnap Gorrik and all the rest happens.

End of Dragons/Ankka/Void is really the trial by fire for Ita as the new champion, and she begins rapidly feel overwhelmed by the pressure of having the fate of the entire world on your shoulders, and that she's being measured against the previous champion Nettle, who started as a commander of the Pact and has been successful saving Tyria multiple times (so ze is basically invincible hero in her book).

At some point during the story, Ita makes a contact with the void anomalies, and ends up channeling its power instead of getting trapped in it. It's difficult magic to control and can end up lashing out, but despite the dangers, she believes she can handle it, and opens herself for the void corruption. No one else is happy about that, of course.

The day is saved and the void is stopped, yet some sparks of corruption still remain within Ita. But that won't definitely cause problems in the future, nope!

playing dragon ball in gw2 after spending an entire day playing pyre yesterday has led me to a Rinthi-based epiphany, which is that despite it likely being actually physically dangerous to her health to do team sport, Rinthi as someone who is a) very competitive b) enjoys teamwork c) enjoys strategising would have a deep and incredible love for sports

🍁 MAPLE LEAF - what is their favourite season? why?

Fall! Tons of colors, huge leaf piles, the best holiday, and tons of trouble to get into~ what's not to love? Mischief is expected, and it intends to deliver. Plus it's always fun to try and prank an old washed up pumpkin king.

⏳ HOURGLASS - are they usually late or on-time?

Almost always on time! If it's late then you know it's making a specific point that you and your event do not fucking matter at all to Joel. Power move if anything. Usually it's on time to everything, because it values your time as much as its own. We've all got plans and things to do, we all have times we intend to do them at.

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

Inferiority and othering/disconnection/dysphoria. Inferiority is something that was pushed upon it from a young age, and it becomes very very immediately belligerent and uncooperative if faced with that again. It refuses to be insignificant in your eyes.

The latter is much, much harsher and deeper for it because those feelings come from within its own mind. All it can do is push them away, try to outlast bad spells or distract itself. Hard to really address those when they're tied to a secret it can't just go tell everyone and freely talk about with the few who do know...

Thank you for the ask! I'm going to focus on my main and canon commander Dietrich for these questions.

What's their class/elite spec? Weapon of choice? Did they purposely train for it or did it just sort of happen?

Dietrich is an Elementalist/Weaver elite spec. He started out as a staff based ele as he learned to control his elemental powers. After meeting Ren though, (our resident grumpy Ex-Blood Legion Centurion and future Guild Weapon Master) Dietrich began training with a sword. Ren recognized the destructive power he could harness, and knew it would be much more deadly in close range via sword and dagger! He still has his staff but uses it very sparingly.

What do they consider their home/base of operation?

The Scribes guild owns a large property in Divinity's Reach that encompasses quarters for all 27 current members, stables for their mounts, storage, a huge garden and farm plot, and training grounds. This serves as a primary base for members to come and go from as they please. As of EoD however, many of the guild members, including Dietrich, have been basing out of Arborstone.

Questions About Creating Your OCs

2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

I didn't! At least not at the time. Qirri was the third or fourth character I made (the second/third didn't make the final cut so there's no one on my roster now between her and Oaklinna, who was my first), and I wasn't super familiar with the story just yet. I just wanted to try to make an asura, and I had two thoughts in mind:

One, I wanted to see if I could make an albino asura, since they reminded me so much of mice or rats. Two, I wanted to see if I could make the cutest asura I possibly could. I definitely got the first one right, and I like to think I succeeded on the second.

3. How did you choose their name?

I wanted something as lore friendly as I could get, so I started arranging letters I saw in other asura names until I landed on one that I liked. Qirri, unfortunately, was indeed already taken. I knew asura didn't have last names, but I didn't know much of anything else, which was how she initially got Tinkersmith.

Later, after I'd developed her alongside @wall-legion and she was basically adopted as part of Garrus's warband, I got a name change scroll and renamed her to Qirri Tinkerfirst in honor of that.

14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

The first most important thing to remember is that Qirri is a Determinator. She is stubborn as the day is long, and even when her health is faltering, she will try to push through it. It comes from a desire to prove herself come hell or high water.

The second most important thing to remember is that Qirri's health influences her inventions as a young genius. Growing up in Rata Sum was hard with a disability that affects her lungs, she got started from the word go on working on things to make it easier for her to get around the city if she became short of breath. That led to her fascination for developing disability aids, and it is one of her big goals in life for if/when they can get out of the whole Saving The World business.

🧠 Talk about your OCs mental health! Do they have any specific triggers or ways to practice self care? What are some things that are more difficult for them to do because of their mental health?

Obie was surprisingly in a very good spot before he met up with Gaius, being gladium sucks, but not for him, he thrived off of the lack of expectation, especially when people still liked and wanted him for their warband, so it was less stressful. Then Gaius came along and that went away, he doesn't particularly have any triggers, but he absolutely despises when people try to help him through stressful moments, he doesn't like the feeling that someone else thinks they know what's better for him to do in these situations.

But, for self care, hes very simple, he enjoys breaking things, shooting bottles and slashing trees, so on and so on, but otherwise he can just get drunk if it's an option-- he also enjoys talking things out with Gaius and Siggy.

🎁 What would be the perfect gift to buy your OC? What would be the worst gift? Are they themselves any good at gifting things or are they really indescisive? How do they wrap their presents?

Obie isn't picky about receiving gifts, but he has a particular soft spot for obtaining ones that are trophies of past adventures, something that he can use to look back on good times he's had. Otherwise, he's just as fine with receiving food. If there were any he wouldn't like, it would possibly have to specifically be replacements for his gear that he didn't ask for, which would imply that he doesn't take care of his own gear or that you think he doesn't know what's best for him (this can he circumvented if you just say you thought he'd like having this new piece of gear for any other reason). He himself is fairly decent at gifting, more than likely he will make that gift himself and it would possibly range from being a small trinket to a full blown piece of weaponry, it would be hard to wrap such things, but he would do it especially as a joke

honestly i'd say mordy. as boring as that sounds, but that entire arc had the most impact on his life. and with non canon characters, thatd be hualei. but thats technically him so. he has a vendetta against himself. you know how it is with gay plants!!
