“Unrequited love doesn't die. it only get hidden away deep beneath your heart, wounded and then sometimes it turns bitter and mean and full of vengeance; or sometimes it turns so frail and afraid and feels as if it could never love again.”
Fa La La by @somewhatgreatexpectations
[The world slowed even further when Wanda turned and met your eyes from across the room, every twinkling holiday light that had been strung in the compound reflecting and bending around her. As if their sole purpose was to shine just for her, in envy of the way the light in her eyes stole their very purpose. You were almost positive that even the stars in the sky could not outshine her eyes.]
"See the sun, hide the moon" by @cuinaminute229
“Her question is a whisper that's carried by the breeze, but you catch the echo of it.”
"See the sun, hide the moon" by @cuinaminute229
“The sky is black, with freckles of light dancing across its canvas. It's beautiful and hopeful and you wish you could shine like the stars, without a care who sees.”

Light shines into your eyes as you smack your lips, tasting day old alcohol. You groan, feeling a distant throbbing in your head and the ever present strain in your shoulder from a past injury. A soft hand touches your back and you feel your body tense,
"Y/N, wake up..."
As you open your eyes to the bright morning light, you can fully feel the hangover radiating through your body. The sharpness of the light in your eyes brings the pounding in your brain to the forefront and you try to turn, sending a pain through your shoulder.
Yet, the softness in those whispers sends a comfort in your body, settling deep within you with a familiar air. You roll onto your back, carefully this time. Turning your head, you see Wanda resting her head on her hand, watching you with humor filled eyes. She grins, running her finger down your arm,
"Good morning,"
Seeing her sends butterflies to your stomach but as the reality of the situation fills the room, your eyes widen, "Did we?"
She laughs softly, your chest tightening as her nose scrunches with her smile, "I suppose we did,"
You came for dinner. Not once did you think the night would lead to this. You're anything but innocent, but this isn't proper. And yet here she is, not moving to get dressed or smacking you to avert your eyes.
No, you both just lay within the warmth of the sheets as though you've done this a million times. If you're being honest to yourself, it almost feels that way.
Her eyes are soft, tiredly looking at you with ease. You see no repulsion or guilt for last night. No regret. Only a wish to stay here with you. Despite this, you shake your head. One look from her and you threw your etiquette out the window and fell into her trance. You need to leave, she needs to dress in privacy.
Without a word, you bound off the bed as you realize she doesn't even have a nightgown on. Tripping amongst the tangling of the sheets, you rip your pants from the dresser and fumble with the button. Muttering to yourself, you try and find your shirt without replaying the night in your head. As you peer behind the dresser, you can feel an invisible pressure behind your back.
"I can feel you watching me,"
Failing to find your shirt, you let out a sigh and glance back. You see her, god you see her. That auburn hair messily tossed around her and the way she bites her lip makes you want to slink back into those sheets with her. Wanda sits up gradually, staring at you with glinting eyes that reflect the morning light.
You nearly freeze, seeing her like this with only a blanket covering the soft skin you were kissing just hours ago. If you weren't trying to preserve some dignity, you would be there pressing your lips against her again.
"I've seen more than that, remember, Y/N?" she asks with a soft grin, raising her brows playfully.
Your cheeks flush as you settle your hands on your waist. If this isn't right, why doesn't it feel wrong?
"Sorry," you sigh out, "I don't normally do this."
Wanda slides out of the bed, the sheet wrapping around her body, "And you think I do?"
There you go again, saying and doing the wrong thing. But her scolding look, as she reachers for her drawer, has your gripping your waist tightly instead of of her.
You groan and turn to try and find your shirt, averting your eyes as she drops the sheet, "Of course not! I didn't... what I meant was..."
She steps behind you, patting your stomach with a scrunch of her nose, "I'm just teasing."
With a chuckle, you raise your brows as the warmth in your cheeks stays strong. Peering behind you, you see she's slipped into a rather alluring nightgown. You hold in a tempting groan, your manners being tested to their limit.
"Well, don't you get up and go in the morning," you smile, turning completely and seeing her hold your now wrinkled shirt.

When Am I Gonna Lose You
Summary: Steve had always told you that complacency killed. Becoming too complacent when you checked your corners on missions or got cocky with your abilities. You never realized that advice would be applicable to the love of your life.
Pairing: Wanda x Reader
Genre/Warnings: Angst (relationship arguments, a few cuss words)
Word Count: 3.7k
A/N: A little quick one shot I've been sitting one for months now and it finally was easy to type out for this busy week. So, Happy Reading!

From the moment your eyes met those emerald eyes, you felt something inside that terrified and drew you at the same time. Wanda was everything you never knew you needed. Her touch calmed every panic and each ounce of tension you held within you. Whispered words that only touched your ears filled you with every promise that you’d never be alone.
And her eyes stole you away from the world until all you saw, all you knew was Wanda. Her smile when you came back to her after missions or even came around the corner with a yawn erupting from your mouth, you knew she was as deeply hooked.
It wasn’t long before spending time together between missions in each other’s rooms grew tiresome. The crashing of Pietro and Yelena fighting to try and get downstairs before the other to serve themselves for a meal first. The rhetorical and never ending monologues Stark had walking up and down the halls on his third night up with the power of coffee. It got crowded too quickly and both of you knew something had to be done.
So you found yourselves signing your names on a dotted line and sending your money away to rent a little property just away from the Compound. The boring white walls were soon covered with pictures from Avengers parties and holidays with the family you had found together.
Long nights were spent wrapped up in blankets and each other on the living room couch with sitcoms that bounced off the walls. A kitchen that filled with the smells of Wanda’s country and your attempts at making her a home cooked meal when she was sick. And those bedroom walls in the back heard all of your secret whispers to each other and the love you shared in that king sized bed.
And secretly in those shared whispers with each other, you had your own secrets with yourselves. A worrying secret that despite everything that was going so perfectly, you were scared you were going to screw everything up. Ruin this with Wanda and lose her forever. You never told her, never wanted to worry her but always questioned every move you made. You always wondered how you were going to lose her. How you were going to let her slip through your fingers.
But missions got longer. Time apart grew and meals shared together were warmed up in the dead of night while one of you was fast asleep. Words became short and snappy when one of you forgot an appointment or brought back the car nearly empty after driving home with heavy bags under their eyes.
It was one of those nights. A long mission apart and both of you arrived back at the Compound at different times. Wanda had to slide beneath the covers of her old room and wait for you to come back home. But you knew how hard it was for her to sleep without you, all the nights you had come back home to her pretending to sleep or reading in the dim light of her lamp. When you came back, bruised and battered, you were anxious to get home. To take a shower and sleep.
Wanda saw you walk in, the way your eyes hung to the ground and didn’t try to find her. A simple kiss pressed against the side of her head, as you mumbled a greeting and shuffled towards the car. The keys in your hand jingled in the heavy silence that was around you two and it was just as thick inside of that car.
The drive felt longer than normal and now you wonder if the two of you should’ve just stayed at the Compound.
Your stomach growls as you glance at the exits, “What do you want to eat?”
Through the corner of your eye, you see her shrug her shoulders, “What do you feel like?”
“You had more time to think about it,” you sigh and steal a glance at her flipping through her phone, “I just got home.”
“I know,” she states slowly and you can hear the annoyance in her voice, “I thought you’d be craving something.”
“Well, nothing sounds good.”
She hums in agreement. It was sounding like a quick dinner with whatever was leftover in the fridge or a microwave meal from the freezer. It was late anyways, most restaurants were closed except a few fast food places. Greasy food didn’t sound too appetizing after you just practically ran a marathon for your mission in the hot, humid air.
“Fuck,” you hear Wanda mutter to herself, the bright light of her phone disappearing.
You glance at her, silently waiting for her to tell you what the issue is this time.
“We don’t have groceries,”
You stare at the exit signs, fingers tightening around the steering wheel, “We’re nearly home. What do you mean we don’t have groceries, Wanda.”
“I mean,” she starts, rubbing her temples, ”I forgot to order them”
“You’re telling me I have to turn around and drive back into town for food?”

In Came You
Summary: After the Avengers broke up, Natasha did what Natasha knew how to do best. Disappear without a trace. You did the same, but all you could do was hope she'd find her way home.
Pairing: Natasha x Reader
Genre/Warnings: Fluff
Word Count: 2k
A/N: Working through my requests! And here's a nice little Nat fluff for you anon! Happy Reading!

Steam rises from the coffee cup you hold in your hands, clutching the warmth to your chest. The air was starting to grow colder as the leaves were starting to fall from the trees. Stepping through the kitchen and towards the armchair in the living room where you try to find comfort through the days. Your eyes catch the side of the fridge as you walk past, glancing towards the month at the top.
It’s been two months. Two months since you had seen dark red hair and those hardened green eyes that only softened for you. Two months since you were stuffing your belongings in a get out bag while every news station was talking about the Avengers’ falling out.
You had been working with the team of superheroes since SHIELD was still around and operating. Once they were taken down after their big secret of being HYDRA was found out, you were transferred to work under Thaddeus Ross. Keeping an eye on the Avengers and being a friendly face when things got too political.
The team trusted you and Ross knew that. And you knew that if you stuck around after the wreckage at the German airport, you’d most likely be heading towards the RAFT yourself.
Natasha had been working for SHIELD and for Fury before the formation of the Avengers, and because of that, you were lucky enough to know the Black Widow. To watch her work, listen to her mission reports and order her new equipment. Eventually, a small comment on adjusting your holster turned into training with each other.
Which turned into grabbing dinner and slowly making breakfast with each other. All under the nose of Ross. Both of you knew he’d try to keep tabs on the secret ex-assassin and the both of you kept your distance while on the job.
Through all that time, Nat had taught you everything one would need to know to disappear. The passports and excessive amounts of currency under the floorboard in your apartment could tell anyone that.
Once your bag was packed with yours and Nat’s things, you took off and knew that you’d have to wait until Nat found you again. You knew that she would find you.
You just didn’t think it would take two months.
Sighing as you fall into the cushions, you flick on the television to fill your brain with some kind of noise. To keep away the thoughts that are telling you something terrible has happened to Nat and that you need to find her.
Deep inside of you, you know she can take care of herself. But every time your eyes flick towards the calendar, you can’t help the twinge in your gut that says maybe this was the one time she couldn’t.
You flip through your notes, furrowing your brows as you start to write down some notes. You’ve been trying to find out where Nat had run off to once the news was blaring that she had attacked T’Challa.
Rick could only give you so much information about what new aliases he had made for her and where she was hiding out. Playing off any possible danger and worry telling you that he’d made a passport with the name “Fanny Longbottom”.
You admit, it had pulled a chuckle out from you but it was short lived. He was done giving you information. It wasn’t just Nat who was being chased after by the government. Anyone who was associated with her and Cap were on the hit list.
Rick was casting a heavy signature helping Nat and he didn’t want to pull you into it. Nat would beat his ass if she found out that you were compromised because he told you one too many secrets.
Knowing you’re missing a huge segment in your notes that could help you find her, there’s a soft click behind you. Your eyes rise up from your scribbles as you carefully place down the mug onto the coffee table. The creak of the door confirms that maybe you were finally found and you quickly recall the steps of your exit plan. There’s a soft step, followed by a heavy thud of a boot finding the ground.
You lean forward, fingers wrapping around the grip of a pistol beneath the armchair. Spinning from your crossed legged position, you take cover behind the furniture and jut the front of the gun out. Lining the sights against the blurry figure in front of you, your eyes relax as you let out your held breath and focus above the sights.
Slowly, your vision clears out and you watch the limping figure in front of you. Leather jacket covering her body, a duffle bag falling from her shoulder and bright, blonde hair cut just above her shoulders.
You gasp. All this time you had been waiting for the redhead you had fallen in love with and instead in came this blonde who’s definitely seen better days. Flicking on the safety, you place the gun next to the lamp before you let all of your emotions explode out of you. The first being all of your worry that’s shooting out in anger towards your home intruder.
“Where the hell have you-” The anger is cut short though, your stomps failing to take you closer as you watch her lean against the wall by the door. Fingers running down the photos you had put up, a smirk on her face as she holds up the one of you two celebrating her birthday.
“This isn’t what I taught you,” she teases, remarking on how anyone would know you two were dating as soon as they walked through the door.
But all you can do is take in all of the bruises and cuts you can see on her. The split lip she has and the yellowing bruises on her jaw. You can only imagine the bruising beneath her clothes, the torn muscles and strained ligaments.

______________________________
Shaking your electrolyte drink, you wipe away the sweat that starts to bead its way down your face. The midafternoon sun is blazing down as your boots crunch against the dry weeds and sand below you. The middle of nowhere for the second time this week and you’re ordered to walk around until something happens. For the past three hours, not a single thing but a few tumbleweeds rolling past and Sam trying to lighten the mood with jokes.
“Look, I’m just saying,” he starts again, staring down at the screen on his wrist as Redwing flies around in search of the enemy trying to sneak up on the team.
“No, no. You’re not saying anything because there’s nothing to say. We’ve been broken up, what, going on five months?”
Sam glances at you, “Oh, so that date you remember?”
You clench your jaw, remembering the argument you had with Wanda just before leaving to this mission. The anger the two of you threw at each other. Separated and still arguing like a married couple. You rip open the bottle in your hand, remembering how you slammed the door without a single goodbye.
Turning the cap of the drink in your hand, you flick it towards his big head, “I will kick you off this mountain and blame it on technical difficulties.”
Drinking the overly sweet and salty drink, Sam slaps his hand against your arm. Coughing as the stinging liquid comes up through your nose, you go to swing your fist but you can see the concentration in his furrowed brows.
“We’ve got movement over in that far building.” He tries to bring Redwing back for another pass as you glance back at the rest of the team trying to find respite in shadows.
Pulling your rifle from your back, you start walking towards the building, “Probably those coyotes we scared off. I’ll go check.”
“You need backup,” Sam starts, his hand rising to press into the radio but you shake your head, already backpedaling towards the building.
“Isn’t that what your little friend is for? Besides, you talking about Wanda is bad juju. Gonna get us all killed, so no more talking for you.”
Without hearing the rest of his argument, you take off in a slow jog. Your eyes scan the buildings around this place, empty and desolate. It was an old HYDRA compound that had been abandoned for decades. Word through SHIELD though was that there might still be some important information that was forgot. The town at the bottom of the mountain was also a prime target to gain more HYDRA sympathizers. So, you were sent here to let the SHIELD agents work their charisma through the town as you waited to see if you were scouring the buildings or blowing them to hell.
The buildings were off limits, that’s what Command had said. They didn’t know what traps were set up in there but that didn’t stop any of you from poking your heads in through the open windows, having Sam drive Redwing around or Nat and Yelena throwing each other onto roofs to peek into the upper floors. All of it was just blown sand and ruined furniture, anything important hidden by time and the elements.
Quietly, you peek around the threshold of the doorway. Scanning for tripwires or blinking red lights as you tried to see further into the building. It was too hard to peek inside to see if anything or anyone was hiding. You had to go inside.
“Stepping inside a building. If something goes boom, Yelena you don’t get my room.”
Russian curse words fill your ear as you press the heel of your boot down onto the creaking wooden floor and rest your weight down. Your breath blows out of your lungs as you take another step and then you’re standing inside of the building. You make your way further in, stepping over and around suspicious piles of sand, carefully opening side doors and looking for anything that’s been disturbed.
It’s all quiet as you make it to the other side of the building and watch a small group of coyotes trotting their way out into the desert. Redwing whirrs around from the side of the house as you give it a little wave,
“All clear, Sam. Now get that thing away,” you swat at the small drone and as you move it out of your vision, you squint into the blinding sand.
Just over the hill, you can see blobs of shimmering black making their way across the sands. Your rifle smacks against your thigh as you tear your binoculars from your belt and try to bring those blobs into focus. And as you do, you don’t think your eyes could grow any wider as you see the length of the caravan coming in at high speeds towards your location. With eyes focused on the approaching enemy, you raise a hand up to the radio on your chest.
“No need to panic, but we’ve got a large number of,” your words are cut short as a distant whistle becomes louder and turns quickly into an explosion.
All of your careful steps are forgotten as your feet leave the ground and you slam straight into the wall behind you. Dust rises up into your lungs as you grasp out against the charred wood around you. Coughing, feeling the explosion of pain in your sides as you feel the impact of the RPG that hit the building, you can see the culprit loading another one on top of the hill.
“Fuck,” you groan out, dragging yourself up to your feet and sprinting towards the nearest exit.

You loved hoodies. They were your favorite thing to slip into after a long mission and just lounge around. Amazing for those chilly days around the Compound and even more perfect when they were on a certain someone with long red hair and emerald eyes.
Your love for the comfy piece of clothing was known through the ranks of the Avengers and they knew it was easiest thing to gift you. In fact, it was the first gift Wanda ever got you when the two of you first became friends. And now, she always finds a perfect hoodie for each special occasion. Because of that, your closet was just lined with enough hoodies to last you through an apocalypse.
Despite having so many, right now, you’re running around the Compound like a chicken without its head. You’re panicking because that hoodie Wanda gifted you all those years ago was nowhere to be found. Your room looked like a tornado had gone through it as you flipped everything over and inside out looking for this hoodie.
Panting as you jog down the hallway, you try to think of any other place you might've dropped it. You always left your hoodies around, leaving them in the gym, inside of your car, other people’s cars but you never, ever left this hoodie laying out. It always found its place hanging back inside of your closet.
Except for this exact moment.
Sprinting down the stairs, you swing around the staircase looking around quickly as you huff and puff. Muttering to yourself as you try to walk through all of your steps yesterday, you could've sworn that you never took it off until you got into the room. Flipping over the couch cushions as you throw them behind you, you only find some coins and old snacks.
You groan, throwing the cushions back haphazardly as you feel your heart pounding in your chest. Just as you're about to sneak into Tony's lab, a sound catches your attention and your breath catches. There’s a soft clang of a pot and you glance over slowly, praying to yourself that it isn’t Wanda as your brain tries to think of any kind of excuse.
“Lose something?” Natasha quirks an eyebrow with a smirk, lifting her glass of juice up to her lips.
You narrow your eyes at her smirk, “Do you know something?” you pant out, swallowing the knot in your throat as you glance to make sure Wanda isn’t coming around the corner.
Nat shrugs, “What’s it worth to you?”
You glare at the former spy, something gnawing inside of you and telling you that if she wasn't the one who stole it, she definitely knows who did.
Probably passed it off to Clint to stuff in the vent where you’d never find it, no matter how much you tore the Compound up. You never dared ventured up into those thing, the last thing you needed to do was fall through the ceiling.
Leaning onto the counter, you tap your fingers along the cold stone as you try to slow down your racing heart. Natasha has the upperhand here and she knows it. All you can do is try and get out of this with as little humiliation as possible.
“I’ll take your chores for a week.”
The redhead chuckles, a rather vicious laugh that fills the quiet Compound, “Wanda’s only worth a week of chores? I’m sure she’d love to learn that.”
You swing yourself around the counter before Nat can walk away and actually find your girlfriend. As you quickly shake your head, your jaw sets when you see the grin on her face as she waits for a better deal. You groan, dropping your chin against your chest and remember exactly what she's been complaining about for the last week.
“I’ll take your chores for two weeks,” slowly you take in a deep breath as you pick up your head to see the grin spread into a smile on her face, “And I’ll take Fanny for her walks.”
Nat nods her head, thankful to not have to take that dog on its three walks a day while Yelena is off on a mission. Reaching out to shake her hand, you hear the soft padding of feet and quiet hums as you keep your wide eyes on Nat.
“Where the hell is my hoodie,” you mumble out through the side of your mouth, trying to make sure Wanda doesn’t hear.
Nat holds in a chuckle as she flicks her eyes upward and past your face. Slowly, you turn and feel all of the air escape from your lungs as you see her. Walking nonchalantly towards the stairs, humming to whatever is playing from her earbuds and looking incredibly comfy for the rainy day. You feel a soft grin start to develop on your face as your eyes take all of her in, before it quickly turns into a frown as your brows slowly come together.
“You’re the worst, you know that?” you grumble at Nat as you make your way towards the stairs again, listening to her mocking laugh. It was embarrassing how many times she’s done this to you but she knows you'll do anything for Wanda.
Climbing up the stairs and making your way to Wanda’s room, you knock as you swing open the door. Wanda’s there, still humming away as she unpacks her suitcase from her last mission. She turns with a wide smile on her face, already knowing you’ve come into the room to see her.
