i hadn't really thought about it until your ask so it took me a while to work things out, but here we are!!!
i really like the idea of alan being sort of like an eldritch being to the sticks and he reveals himself in a form that 'lower-level' beings can comprehend.
please ignore the inconsistent way i draw sticks, im still trying to figure stuff out :D
Imagine you do something and then later you realize that you fucked up unbelievably bad. What you did without question is now your biggest regret. You hurt people before, and only later realized what you did was wrong. Creating for the sake of destroying, and then learning that your creations have actual life. I think he tried not to dwell on it, to leave the past behind and do better going forward. But unfortunately for him, the past wasn't willing to leave him behind. How does one pay for those kinds of mistakes made in willful ignorance? What happens when the past does catch up? When he is forced to face repercussions for his actions? What does victim have planned?
Anyways, this is part of why I like the stick!Alan idea. It's a lot harder to escape from the past when there isn't a screen hide behind.
Is Alan just friendly with the hollowheads and that's why they like him? Or have they all just clung onto him and him specifically, and he's just rolling with it at this point?
Either way congrats Alan! You've been dubbed their honorary dad... have fun with that haha :)
just my stick alan design— he does have clothing i swear i just didn't draw them
i also accidentally made him a little muscular (for a stick figure) but oh well!! him!! he's lookin' a little bit... low quality right there but maybe that's just me (it probably isn't)
here's another one if you wanna see, much more simplified but y'know
oh yeah!! he's not very good at it but he has fire powers kinda
Oh lord, I have done an art again, check the weather for flying pigs.
Anyway, with the new animator vs animation VI that's come out, I have once again begun making wild theories about future parts, and that wild imagination led me back to a classic for this fandom. Stick Alan.
Now, a lot of people color them purple, or black, or whatever, but have you considered... white? like the cursor/canvas? He would be difficult to see on a canvas of course, but honestly I think that adds to the humor of it.
Unlike his creations, he has absolutely no fighting capabilities whatsoever, an absolute wuss, but he is still one hell of an animator. So, he has that going for him at least.
Hopefully, whatever caused this (probably Victim), can also fix it. Alan really just wants to go home.
