🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them? cause i don't know a lot about your ocs
uhhhh for All of them? 😂 Well I'll see what I can cobble together lol
under a readmore because I have a lot of OCs and A Lot to say!
to start at the very beginning: my first group of proper OCs (Felix + Moritz + Emily) where mostly created as a coping mechanism for me to deal with bullying, trauma and extreme social isolation as a teen.
Felix is very obviously a self insert, embodying all the traits about teen me that I perceived as negative and unlovable.
Moritz is the pinnacle of Seemingly Intimidating Goth/Metal Guy with A Heart Of Gold and was designed to love Felix, flaws and all. Because I really needed that back then.
Emily is the small bubbly confident childhood friend with sweet supportive parents and a good home life, fully submerged in the world of goth (which was one of my main obsessions as a teen) and not afraid to kick someone's ass with her stompy platform boots to protect her bestie Felix!
The first thing I decided on was probably Felix' name. I did start to seriously question my gender back at 12/13 and Felix was one of the names that were somehow dear to me (probably because I had a brown plush mouse as a little kid which I named Felix lol). Similar story with Emily tbh. Had a doll as a kid which was named Emily and I just really liked the name.
---
Next up: Scene-chan, Emo Girl and Harstyle Girl, not much to say about them tbh. obviously based on the popular music/fashion based subcultures of the day (mid to late 2000s, early 2010s). another bunch of my teenage years obsessions lol
---
then: my emo boys Alex and Joël! it's kinda cringe and embarrassing to admit, but they're based on a classmate and I way back in 6th grade. They started out as random emo boys but a few years ago I decided to give them names and a basic backstory.
Once again Joël is kind of an alternate universe self insert (based on if I had taken up my emo classmate on the offer of giving me an emo haircut and taking me to an emo meet up, still regret not being brave and accepting to this day lmao), and basically another coping mechanism of Self insert is loved by other OC despite his perceived flaws that make him "unlovable" :')
---
on to some of my most fleshed out OCs of the bunch: my absolutely beloved metal boys Lukas, Simon, and Raphael! I actually came up with them for one of my last pre-college assignments! I chose the topic character design and since I was starting to really dive into the wonderful world of metal, I promptly created my boys!!!
They all have some of my traits but are pretty solid characters in their own right. Their story has changed quite a bit, mostly because of storytelling classes in college and the teacher for that course demanding some realism in the form of depressing realistic shit (drug addiction, abuse, Struggling in general, etc.) and less of whatever low stakes, non-dramatic supernatural demon contract stuff I had going on beforehand lol I didn't like it at first but it somehow stuck, oops.
The first thing I decided on was probably Lukas' haircut! I did accidentally mirror it at some point tho (brain like Swiss cheese and the bad habit of keeping most of my oc info haphazardly lying around inside my head)
---
And finally, my Metalocalypse ocs: Rapunzel and Martin! They're both klokateers working for Dethklok, nothing too special about them tbh. Rapunzel has more of a backstory than Martin at this point, I really need to do more with them tho!!!
The first thing I decided about Rapunzel (when he went from a random background Klokateer in my dethentines entries to a proper OC) was him being a laundry klokateer! I'm not well-versed in assassin/bodyguard work and all the Die For Dethklok backgrounds of most other klokateers and thought. Hey. Mordhaus is fucking huge and there are so many employees keeping the whole thing going. So there must be an entire laundry squad somewhere. And I know how to do laundry. So that's where I put Rapunzel hehe
Martin is still pretty much a blank slate. All I have for him so far is that he's from Germany and Drepressed/Suicidal As Fuck (literally the first thing i decided about him. like, what if i made an OC that's So Fucking Depressed), hence why he signed up to become a klokateer.
He wants to die anyway, might as well die protecting a band he likes. But surprise surprise, while working he runs into Rapunzel, the eternal ball of sunshine, ends up saving his life from intruders who were on a mission to kill Dethklok (a normal tuesday tbh), and with the help of him and all his coworkers he learns that life is somehow worth living after all. So basically his plan backfired and now he has so many things to fight and live for!
So. Martin lowkey is Rapunzel's "I Could Fix Him" project 😂👌 Oh! and Rapunzel calls him Tintin 🥺💕
---
If you have made it this far I hereby award you a medal because this sure was a wall of text!

Vamiun Dancestor Idea: Mosyne Ikunga
Named After: The greek goddess of memory.
Gender: He/Him
Character Bio: Mosyne Ikunga is a member of the Filmography Man subculture (a parody of the Film Bro archetype) a subculture found mostly within the indigo caste of fans of the art of filmography and in particular Masculine Film Heroes like Tyller Durden or Jordan Belfor. Mosyne in particular yearns to return to masculine era of the wilds as embodied by his ancestor The Peltmaster. Mosyne himself is a kinda slimy guy, less muscular than most of his caste with black hair he tries to style like Vamiun's. He's kind of a prick, but less so than Vamiun. He has a sense of commitment to his ancestor and his ideals no matter who destructive they might be.
Classpect: Maid of Time.
Land: Land of Sandstorms and Echoes (A once sandy place, it was completely overcome by the insectoid consorts. The Archetoprex Army who once ruled this land, lead by their leader and his denizen, Menatori are trying to drown the new insectoid consorts in sand.)

hey there demons! it me, sam! this is just parker’s same old intro edited with some updates and wanted / taken connections, so feel free to take a look if you’re interested! messaging me @ellvie is probably easiest!
DISCLAIMER: this is a sideblog so i might post stuff to the wrong acc sometimes js
so, this guy right here…riley ignatius parker-warrington…will throw hands if you call him anything other than parker. it’s what everyone calls him. you gotta be really special to call him riley and not immediately get decked for it. tbh most people probably think parker is his first name anyway so! moving on
parker was born to a wealthy family in a small but affluent village called alderley edge in cheshire, england. he’s the youngest of four sons so he has three older brothers.
his family, the parker-warringtons ( known more commonly as the warringtons ) are stupid rich. it hurts me to think about it askdh. they’re basically the british rockefellers. parker’s great x6 granddad started the family business back a couple centuries ago and nowadays they’ve got their hands in everything from business to architecture to real estate to education to oil…they own a lot of stuff. the warrington building in downtown london was completely made up just now is basically the rockefeller center of the uk.
the family drama has been highly publicized in the uk & europe for longer than anyone can remember at this point, but not as much in america.
anyway, parker spent his early years sheltered and pampered and homeschooled by tutors and nannies bc his parents never had time for him but it’s whatever he got over it really early on in life.
parker’s always been a huge troublemaker with a restless nature so his wealthy, uptight, lowkey shady af parents who are obsessed with the family’s image could never really deal with him and eventually decided to just ship him off to boarding schools all over europe, just one after the other after the other bc he kept getting kicked out lmao.
about the only thing he enjoyed about his childhood and schooling were his music lessons. he was taught to play piano, violin, and even the harp. other things like math and history and science didn’t come easily to him at all, but music? he was great at it and he’s always loved it. during his teen years while away at boarding school was when he first procured an electric guitar and learned to play. along with that, he also discovered punk music, aka the greatest thing in the entire fucking universe if you ask him. far as music goes, he’d found his calling in his early teenage years.
at school he was basically that rebellious kid in all the movies who wore doc martens with his prim & proper school uniform and carried around a pocket knife and cut class to go smoke while vandalizing school property and would absolutely fuck up some prissy pretty boy’s face just for looking at him the wrong way.
literally the only reason he actually graduated rather than flunking out was because his father was able to pull some strings aka bought his very last boarding school a whole new library wing. parker did actually consider running away a few times, but there was a part of him really reaaaaally deep down that actually enjoyed some aspects of school ( though he very strongly believes many education systems across the world need a serious overhaul and blahblahblah don’t ask him unless you want a lecture ). anyway, the moment he was done with school, he did finally skip out on…well, everything and everyone and ditched the country altogether, heading out first to seattle washington, then to los angeles, california, and then he finally settled in new york city when he was twenty years old, meaning that he’s lived in nyc for the last three years!
started his band, rabid porcupine, right after moving to the city. they’re a punk band, popular among the subculture and virtually unknown to everyone else. parker is the lead vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, overall face of the band but don’t get it twisted he could never go solo his whole band is important to him.
his parents have threatened to cut him off & disinherit him about a billion times but will probably never actually do it even though they see him as a huge disgrace to the family name. they call sometimes but he never picks up. if anybody asks he’d probably say that he hates his family but he honestly doesn’t. i don’t think he’s capable of hate lmao. he doesn’t like them and he’d rather stay away from them bc he and his family just do not get along, but at the end of the end of the day, v deep down he has like….a teeny tiny molecule of affection for them even though his family is 100% genuinely awful people
so, parker left nyc for a bit! even though it was only like a week ago in real time i wanna say he’s actually been gone for about two to three months maybe? idk but he went back to england in a rush, just kinda vanishing overnight as he tends to do.
he told no one where he was going or that he was even leaving at all. not even his roommate or…the person he’s very attached to, stas. he didn’t wanna tell anyone why he had to leave.
BUT WE’RE ALL GONNA FIND OUT RIGHT HERE AND NOW SURPRISE! his dad died. yikes. now they had a very…complicated relationship. parker hated his father and his father hated him. tbh his death wouldn’t have been enough for parker to go all the way back to england bc he fucking hates it there if it weren’t for the fact that his dad was pulling some fuck shit from the grave.
long story short, he left the family company to parker in his will. not the family, not his wife, not any of his other three sons. nope. the whole ass billion dollar company, every single subset, everything…was left to one riley ignatius parker-warrington.
naturally he was fucking furious. he hates the family business, he hates their company, he hates office work, and he hates knowing that his father only did it to spite him. he immediately attempted to get rid of the company. tried selling it, just straight up giving it away, even driving it into the ground lmao. just, anything to get it off of his hands and out of his responsibility but nothing has worked so far.
and that’s why he’s back in nyc! he wants a lawyer’s opinion so what i think parker is gonna do here? lowkey try to sneak into town, get some help from a lawyer he trusts and then leave without anyone else noticing or knowing that he was in town at all because he absolutely does not want to be here and he especially doesn’t wanna show his face. too bad for him!
lemme…stop? and just give you a few quick facts bc this is getting super long who’s even still reading this?
looks like he could kill you and could actually kill you
he hasn’t been home in like five years but he still has the heaviest most posh british accent you will ever hear in your life + he knows he’s fulfilling a stereotype here but he doesn’t care he fuckin loves tea
his three older brothers are named sebastian, nikolai, & rian. he doesn’t get along with any of them but he and rian he by far has the worst relationship with rian, his identical twin who’s a few minutes older. unlike most stereotypical twins they’ve literally never been in sync, have never gotten along and have probably beaten each other up before.
his family is big on modern day arranged marriages but you can miss parker with that bullshit he will date whoever he wants
that being said i think he’s probably…straight? idk tho & like who’s really straight anymore honestly
most people think that he’s a jerk bc he’s incredibly standoffish and temperamental but he’s actually…not that bad? like he’s sure he’s permanently grumpy but he also holds the door open for people and says thank you to janitors and probably helps old ladies across the street and would literally rather die than be rude to wait staff in a restaurant
seemingly very passionate about everything always openly expresses his emotions. he doesn’t…know how to hide them? he doesn’t know how to pretend like he doesn’t care?
adrenaline junkie, reckless af & likes to party but isn’t into hard drugs. he’s tried once or twice but just really isn’t a fan. he smokes & drinks & smokes weed sometimes but that’s it
very observant and good at reading people
basically the walking talking rl embodiment of the jerk with a heart of gold trope.
knows he’s not the easiest person to befriend but if you are his friend, then he’s gonna be loyal af, the realest ride or die of all time
however, he tends to take the tough love route when he’s trying to help someone out. like just bc you’re his friend he’s not gonna coddle you bc you’re upset he’s gonna tell you how to how to deal with your problems & emotions
which is funny bc lmao he’s angry af 1000% of the time. will throw hands anytime anywhere
so to the surprise as nobody he took up boxing as a kid and to this day it’s the only sport he cares about at all. he still boxes once or twice a week as a hobby & it’s probs pretty good for him tbh
also took a lot of music lessons back in the day. he’s actually a very talented pianist who probably could’ve gone on to play professionally if he stuck with it but nah. he likes the guitar. you’ll probs never catch him playing the piano which is a shame bc he honestly is a beautiful pianist :/
worked as an auto mechanic before he committed to his band full time but highkey misses it sometimes. he still likes cars & absolutely loves motorcycles, will talk about them all day with you if you want.
he has a motorcycle which pretty much built it himself from scratch and it’s just…it’s literally his child ok he will freak if you so much as lay a hand on his motorcycle ok /f r e a k/ like don’t even look at it the wrong way
feminist af
parker is grumpy and angry and standoffish but look he really is and really tries to be a decent guy. anyone who knows him well would see that very clearly and honestly, that’s probably why they stick around even though he can be difficult.

Chris Mander Interview
Tumblr media
Chris Mander is one of the longest serving members of The Terrible Company and is one of those naturally gifted skateboarders who never really loses his ability to shred. In recent times he has taken time out from skateboarding to embark on a career in programming and to start a family, but on the rare occasions where he goes skateboarding he embodies the style and ability of his younger self, with the only difference being a pair of glasses and a penchant for Commodore and NASA t-shirts. As someone instrumental to the history of The Terrible Company, I wanted to find out what skateboarding has meant to him and how the Coventry skate scene impacted his life.
Congratulations on becoming a Dad, and joining the ranks of 'Rad Dads of the Cov Skate Scene'. Is being a Dad harder than skateboarding?
Thanks! To be honest I'm not sure how I'd begin to compare them! They are both difficult and rewarding for completely different reasons.
You lived in Japan for a year and put skateboarding to rest for a bit - did you miss it when you were out there or were you happy to put skateboarding on the back burner?
I've always been into multiple things at a time, with one main hobby really taking focus. Throughout my teens and early twenties, skateboarding was it, but computer programming eventually became the next big thing I wanted to do and has been ever since. While this was where I was at during my time in Japan, I would still get the impulse to skate, just not as frequently as I imagine that the twenty year old me would in the same position.
Did you see much presence of skateboarding out in Japan?
I was based in a residential area outside of downtown Osaka, so I wasn't expecting to see much skateboarding outside of the city. I was surprised that I didn't see as much as I expected to see whenever I was downtown, perhaps I wasn't in the right places as there's definitely a scene out there.
I would see a lot of quirky skate spots that seemed untouched by skateboarders. It's  either that there's spots in far greater abundance than skateboarders can cover, or there's a different attitude to street skating than in the west that causes these spots to be left untouched.
youtube
Chris' first section in a Terrible Company video was in 2006's Rushed Goods. I remember meeting Chris down Covpark and getting on with him really well, and remembering how he immediately involved me in the larger scene. He was largely my introduction to some of the best skateboarders in the city at the time like Matt and Tez Aldersley, Ralph Cooper and the older Ride team members like Gaz Taylor and Jim The Skin.
What do you remember about the scene down Covpark around the time we first met?
I met you a little while before you put out the "Beastly" video. During that time there were smaller groups of skaters that all came together due to Covpark being built, and "Rushed Goods" captured that nicely.
I was always intimidated by the majority of skateboarders in the scene at that time. You kinda made skateboarding feel open for anyone wanting to join. Was the openness and inclusivity of skateboarding you exhibited something that drew you to it?
What drew me to skateboarding was how impressive it looked. I wanted to experience the feeling that the skaters in the videos that I watched must've felt. I also wanted to be part of a subculture that stood against the attitudes of popularity and exclusivity in secondary school.
I always thought of you as part of that crew of shredders everyone associated with Matt and Tez - how did you meet them?
I was about 14 or 15, and I met them through a friend who went to school with them. They were part of a group of people who all skated, and I tagged along when the group went through some changes after a few of them quit skateboarding. Matt and Tez were amazing, I remember them being so good when I first met them. The first time I skated with them, we were skating in Coventry City Centre, and Tez kickflipped the 6 set above Madge's banks. He was just this tiny kid who was really good. That's what motivated me about skateboarding because I saw those guys and it just looked like they were riding the air. It just seemed so natural to them.
vimeo
Matt and Tez Aldersley were brothers who would go on to feature in Terrible Company videos after Rushed Goods. Both had parts in Corrosive Materials (2007) and Tez had a part in 2011's Cannonball Holocaust. They were all terrain rippers who got onto the Ride team and were mainstays of the scene down Covpark. It was Chris, however, who ended up bagging more footage as he became a permanent member of our crew.
You probably know what this blog is about as much as I do. What drew you to the kinda things we were doing as a crew with the blog?
I think it mixed art with skateboarding; it was a group of skateboarders who were in it for so much more creatively, who were into the artistic expression of it through video editing or graphic design, and also through documenting experiences through video or the written word. It was something more than just skateboarding.
How many parts do you think you have filmed for Terrible Company videos?
Well the first one was Rushed Goods… but this is more a question of do I remember all of the videos we made. Errr… I'm gonna guess 7.
I think it's 8 - Rushed Goods, Corrosive Materials, Storybook, Guitar Solos With Skateboards, Batface, Cthulhu, 4 Horsemen (online part) and, finally, 2018's Franchi$e. Not bad for a bunch of blokes fucking around with video cameras!
Well there you go - I forgot Franchi$e!
youtube
This blog is very much a weird, silly, daft thing which doesn't take itself seriously. You've often been involved with skits we filmed where you skated dressed as a ninja, or where we made a mockumentary about you becoming addicted to a fake energy drink and disappearing. Do you think the daft nature of skits like this go hand in hand with skateboarding, or do you think we're just idiots?
I think we were kids! We were young people wanting to have fun. I think it just goes hand in hand with growing up, and just having a sense of humour. I think the whole Mind Cry Energy Drink skit was the start of me not being involved in the videos so much. I was feeling fatigued with it all and specifically with skateboarding just to film, even just with skateboarding. It was a long time ago but it was definitely rooted in me wanting to take a step away, but rather than just say that we decided to make a joke out of it and be creative.
As you've gotten older do you still feel a connection to Coventry skateboarding or do you think that time has passed?
I mean, perhaps the latter - but it was 10 years of my life, of being deeply part of that scene, and I don't think you can easily just escape something you have spent that much time involved in. I think a part of me will always be thinking about Coventry skateboarding.
What would it take to convince you to come and film a full part for me again?
A full part?? 3 to 4 minutes???
Yeah!
That's a lot of skateboarding! I mean I would have to warm up a lot to get to the skating which is worth filming. I dunno, I don't see it happening personally haha.
Anyone you want to thank?
You, I guess - when I stopped skating with Matt and Tez so much, I didn't have anyone to skate with, and you and the rest of the Terribleco folks welcomed me into the group. It kept me skating, and I really appreciated it. Probably kept me out of trouble! Being part of the Cov scene and the Terrible Company lead to many awesome friends including yourself, so… err… Thank you, Ade, haha.
Chris is one of my best friends, and one of the best people I know. I wouldn’t be who I am today without having met him, and he’s the embodiment of the fun and creativity I found within skateboarding. To conclude, I think the point of interviewing him was to shine a light on some unsung personal heroes - sometimes it’s not a guy with a pro board who can inspire you to skate, sometimes all you need is some friends who make you wanna skate.
To finish up - here’s a megamix of Chris Mander footage from the late 2000′s and early 2010′s!
