BREAKING NEWS: China is getting the classic Tamagotchi, and they've launched with eight exclusive shell colors not available anywhere else in the world! All of them appear to have the Gen 1 programming. Whether they'll be available elsewhere or not is currently unknown, but we'll keep you posted as more information becomes available.

Alongside them, the 25th Anniversary Special Edition shell was also released, which was previously only released in the USA and South Korea. One difference in packaging vs. the original USA release is that it lacks the pink backing sheet, instead using the typical white backing.

When it comes to contribution, I'm working on something very cool. I'm completing the first edition of the Ultimate Tamagotchi Guide Book! It's a PDF book containing information, trivia and growth charts for all the main Tamagotchi releases, both Japanese and global. Once the project is done, I will publish it here for free (though I still need to figure out how.) It will be updated with the new releases.

Do u use any particular sites to purchase older tamagotchi on the cheaper end for parts? I want to replace button my gen 2 and am wondering if anywhere sells specific parts like buttons or screen backgrounds, thanks :)

Great question!

I live in Japan so I have access to a ton of Tamas. I primarily use flea market site Mercari to scope out good deals, and a few years back (pre-25th anniversary revival) I got some cheap lots on Yahoo! Auctions. Prices have gone up on both sites recently...but sometimes you get lucky.

When I'm doing customs I'm pulling from stock accumulated over 26 years of collecting. I'm the one friends gave their Tamagotchis to when they no longer wanted them...so...I'm rolling in eggs.

I've seen some individual fans who make their own buttons, but I've not seen anyone selling individual wallpapers. (I'm trying to figure out a good way to make them myself, though! Just waiting on a supply delivery)

I finally got my 25th Anniversary Tamagotchi Smart today and I love the colors! Anniversary tamas mean a lot to me since it was the 15th idL that really got me back into the series! Also I got my other half of the Kingdom Hearts nano!

Bandai Japan Teases 25th Anniversary Digimon Vital Bracelet Bands & DIM Card

The 25th anniversary celebrations are in full swing for the Digimon brand! Bandai Japan dropped a teaser showcasing two Digimon Vital Bracelets with a Digital Monster band and case/frame which will make your Vital Bracelet look like the Digital Monster that you first started collecting back in 1997.

It also looks like there will be a 25th Anniversary DIM Card because the graphics on the screen including the pixel based characters and background image are reminiscent of the original Digital Monster. Now we’re not sure if Bandai Japan will introduce the bands and DIM card, or if it will be part of a special set, but we will soon find out!

Tama mail 🥰 I got a bunch of packages in today. The 25th anniversary holographic P1. I'm considering leaving it new in box. I also got a pastel Meets, new in box! I ordered it off eBay for an unbelievably good price. I was worried it wasn't going to work or wasn't actually new in box.. but it runs fine and truly was new in box.. not a single scratch on it, even on the back. And the cute little character plushies.. with backpacks that can hold a tamagotchi connection 🥹 so cute.
