Tamazine Pre-orders are now live!

Tamazine is a zine about Tamagotchi, cheering on the childhood nostalgia, the colorful characters, and the collecting that make playing with Tamagotchi so fun!

Inside this zine are 70+ pages of beautiful full-color illustrations, craft patterns (including how to make your very own Kutchipatchi!), illustrative articles and stories, and 2 large comics. And that's not it. That's not all. Digital merch such as printable stickers, printable polaroids, and a phone background is also in store!

PLEASE NOTE: This is currently a PRE-ORDER. This zine will release on February 17th, 2024. Cover is NOT FINAL and may appear slightly different upon release!

Tamagotchis are one of my largest guilty comfort food franchises to come back to time and again and I'm so happy I got to jump in on this project. I based my own piece around the On, and the massive family tree I'd built up overtime- including several of the actual fusions I'd gotten, various parent tamas, and a few other cameo characters I thought just fit the vibe of the piece~

Also I think the Nightshade filter blended in pretty well with this one! If you want to see the crispy clean version be sure to give the actual zine some love!

Apocrypha

He’d slid into the world silent and dour on the Sunday of Pentecost, his mother Tamazin—only a girl herself—more terrified of breaking the Sabbath with her fierce travail than of birthing the babe who’d nearly cleaved her in two. 

His father, Goodman Waite, an ancient farmer with three wives and two times as many babes already moldering in the ground, had dutifully limped to Reverend Fiske’s house when the child survived the cold spring night. 

“A son: Pentecost,” he’d told Fiske, and watched as the cleric wrote the name with bold dark strokes in the Church Book, and then “May ye 14th 1690.”

“Pentecost Waite,” murmured the farmer once the writing was done, as if the words themselves and their inscription there could coax a refining fire from the tiny ember of his son. Then he paid a shilling to the Reverend for his ink and his time and he limped back home.

That was the story at any rate, the apocrypha of Pentecost’s beginnings. Told the tale so many times he could recite it in his father’s words, hear his father’s voice in the telling. It was the near entirety of his inheritance now, everything else, all other worldly goods reduced to dust.
