Cosmere Characters, what's your source?
This post is fully inspired by this one, where "Source: just a gut feeling" was tagged by @taravangians-storming-balls as "#adolin most of the time." So true.
So how would other Cosmere characters respond if you demanded their source?
Adolin: Source? Just a gut feeling!
Dalinar: Source? Visions from the Almigthy.
Lirin: Source? The Wisdom of the Heralds.
Kelsier: Source? A mysterious rumor, but one which I happen to know to be true.
Taravangian: Source? Only the smartest guy I've ever been.
Nale: Source? The laws of this land.
Yumi: Source? Well, uh, just Liyun if I'm being honest...
Yumi: ...Is that bad?
Elend: [eyes gleaming as he pulls 5 books out of his bag] You may be sorry you asked!
Navani: Source? You can consult my experiment log.
Raboniel: Yes, consult Navani's experiment log. I have it right here.
Navani: Please stop stealing my experiment log!
Marasi: Source? Well, it's a fairly long story, but I have my case notes right here.
MeLaan: Source? Me! I'm, like, thousands of years old probably.
Allrianne: Source? Please! Search your feelings, you know this to be true.
Allrianne: (Just a little Rioter joke, tee hee.)
Hoid: Source? Why, you of course! You lend your own meaning to my tales.
Jasnah: Source? As in, just one?
Jasnah: Bah, only amateurs use a single source.
Steris: And that's why I have these FIFTY sources!
Szeth: Source? The ancient wisdom of my people.
Szeth: Wait--no. The words of whoever holds my oathstone.
Szeth: Wait--no. The local laws.
Szeth: Wait--no. Whatever Dalinar says!
Szeth: Phew! Finally nailed it!
Adolin: ...
Szeth: What?

No Kaladin, that is not how sex works
[ID: a screenshot of the tumblr timeline. The first post by sabertooth walrus reads, "she [cartoon running noise] on my [coo-coo clock sound] till I [pie splat]"
Below that post in the timeline is a piece of fanart of Kaladin by @taravangians-storming-balls. He's lowering a pair of sunglasses and raising an eyebrow, looking directly at the viewer. End ID.]

Ok we're doing this. We're reading the stormlight 5 prologue. I'm just going to liveblog here in one post to not spam everyone this time.
Spoilers ahead, of course.
wow gavilar is INSUFFERABLE. the ego of this guy has no end.
he calls the stormfather "it"
I just KNEW he was a manipulative piece of shit to dalinar too!
"both his pain and his addiction made him easy enough to control." i hate him so much
also i'm confused. is gavilar a radiant? (feels unlikely to me) why is the stormfather around him all the time? and you need to find words to become a herald? that's interesting
haha the two bastards meet
yeah he's literally a seon in a trenchcoat huh
"how long has it been since they all laughed together - he, Ialai, Navani and Sadeas" AREN'T YOU FORGETTING SOMEONE YOU STORMING PIECE OF SHIT
this prologue has revived my love for dalinar apparently. turns out gavilar is enough of an asshole to cancel out war crimes (temporarily at least)
does he like... not know that they are heralds?
"the man can't abide someone having more secrets than him" hrrrngahhahhhhhhhgggg
i want to see nalan beat the shit out of gavilar. it would be so satisfying
i'll try to stay content with the knowledge he gets murdered that day anyway
im so confused?? are they not really heralds? did the stormfather lie to him? i assume the stormfather lied to him because he is such an asshole and the stormfather doesn't actually buy his bullshit
"the sun could love the stars but never as equals" dude sure has a high opinion of himself
taravangian?
babe wake up new death rattle just dropped (we heard most of this one before though)
gavilar is the worst job interviewee ever
a herald has died????? (like... now? or did he see into the future?)
ok yes the stormfather did lie. good for him
"and why on all of roshar would it have done so" i can't possibly think of a reason
well! i really don't know what else to say. i really want a scene where the stormfather explains to dalinar that gavilar was not worth all the credit he's been giving him
tbh there weren't as many crazy reveals in this prologue as i thought there will be. It does set up the ba-ado-mishram backstory pretty well though

book talk: oathbringer
So. MUCH. HAPPENED.
Granted, it took me two months to read this because I had finals and sometimes I was not in the right headspace to read.
Where do I even begin? My thoughts, as always, are so scattered and since I have the smaller copy of the book I didn't use any sticky notes to write my comments, but instead just doggy-eared some of the pages I deemed important / I liked:
● this is from a conversation between Jasnah and Dalinar about the claims of the latter's heresy:
"I don't mind people believing what works for them, Uncle. That's something nobody ever seems to understand- I have no stake in their beliefs. I don't need company to be confident."
Among all the characters in the book, I feel like I respect Jasnah more than anyone. Her intelligence and confidence in herself and in her work are the things I admire about her a lot.
In particular, I resonate with her when it comes to religious views, which I'm not gonna talk about because that's a conversation for another day.
● there is a page of Moash marching with the parshman and Voidbringers, he's contemplating about the how humans can't govern themselves.
I honestly don't remember why I thought this was an important page, but upon re-reading it there's this line:
Moash had failed Kaladin and the others- but that was merely how men were in this debased age. He couldn't be blamed. He was a product of his own culture.
Now, I don't want dismiss Moash's hatred for Elhokar and the lighteyes, he's more than entitled to feel that way after his grandparents were killed unfairly, but the fact that he thought he couldn't be blamed for his actions and that he is what he is because of his culture... that's just way too easy, Moash. Just because the society you grew up in is as is, doesn't mean you just take it, storming man. I feel so strongly about this because I love everyone from bridge four, but after what Moash did in this book... I don't know if there's a way for him to redeem himself.
● Adolin hanging out with Bridge Four!! ISTG, Adolin is the real GOAT in this series.
I feel for him when he felt small, being surrounded by Radiants.
I mean, who wouldn't? Your father, your brother, your fiancé, your cousin and your friend. Personally I would have had very low esteem in myself, but Adolin fought through it and just did what he can. He is a character I admire a lot too. Because despite his upbringing, his background and his privileges, he still choses to be humble, be nice to anyone and work hard.
All in all, he's really the most likeable character imo. He and Shallan haven't known each other for the longest time, but it really feels like he's sincere with his feelings despite his prior reputation with girls haha
● Kaladin's friendship with Adolin and Shallan: I know our favorite bridgeboy has his Bridge Four and thinks that's they are all he needs, but I can't help but feel relieved that Kal has Adolin and Shallan.
Like I've said previously, I don't think Kal had any romantic feelings for Shallan, but he thought he did because she reminded him of Tien. His friendship with the two newly-weds are important and it's gonna help him along the way. I love that for Kal ;w;
● I need a Wit in my life, I need him to make me see things I don't see, to make my reflect and realise all the important things in life.
There is this line I particularly liked when he found Shallan:
"[...] You mostly failed. This is life. The longer you live, the more you fail. Failure is the mark of a life well lived. [...]"
This is something a lot of us should probably hear, because I know I do especially when I have doubts in myself and I'm scared of doing things for the fear of failing.
● I don't like Taravangian, and I know he's just trying to save the world but also just actually trying to save his people but when he told Dalinar this:
"This is the sacrifice, isn't it?" Taravangian said softly. "Someone must bear the responsbility. Someone must be dragged down by it, ruined by it. Someone must stain their soul so others may live."
This reminded me of someone, but for the sake of not going into a more serious tone I shall leave it like that.
● As this post is getting longer, these two lines are the last ones that I'm gonna mention:
"I will take responsibility for what I have done," Dalinar whispered. "If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man."
I feel like this is pretty self-explanatory. Dalinar frustrated me all throughout this book. I wanted to slap young Dalinar, especially because of how he treated Evi. I have to admit he was so cool in the last part of the book lol I loved his interactions with Lift.
I kinda wish we had interactions between Lift and Kaladin - I hope we got one in the next book.
And the last line and the one that gave my goosebumps:
She pulled him tight, “Maybe you don’t have to save anyone, Kaladin. Maybe it’s time for someone to save you.”
Kaladin always thinks of saving others, but never thinks that maybe he’s the one who needs to be saved. He helped the parshman, he bonded with the Wall Guards... he cares so deeply for anyone he barely thinks of himself.
Oh, Kaladin, I just wanna wrap him in a blanket and give him a warm soup. :(
I’m itching to read Rhythm of War, but I think my brain needs a break from fantasy books.

Awwww yeeee. I’m almost done with cataloguing all the swear words in RoW. Then I’ve got 3 more books and another novella ; - ;
Maybe eventually I’ll do all the Cosmere books. I don’t think there’s much swearing outside of Mistborn and Stormlight, though.
Colors have been changed since my last post upon request for higher contrast and suggestions for better representative colors for Dalinar and Taravangian.
There’s a notable POV character that I didn’t include in this chart since I think it would be a spoiler. More on that below the break:
Dabbid’s first on-screen swear words are in Chapter 85, which are from his perspective. It’s only 2 (“storms” and “Damnation”) that he uses in his narration about how hulked Rlain is in warform. This represents 0.1% of his words (spoken or thought), which is a surprisingly average frequency compared to other Bridge 4 members.

Notes on Rhythm of War
Well that had more twists and turns than the chasms of the Shattered Plains.
1. Minor note that bugged me: Gavinor talked *way* too mature for his age. Mostly in that his sentence structures were way too complex.
2. I can’t believe Sanderson managed to somehow redeem Roshone. Dude really stepped up in a crisis -- not in a way that made him suddenly perfect, but in a way that demonstrated he was clearly growing toward something better.
3. New Shard names yay
4. Fascinated by all these new Lights. I’m not quite sure where Lifelight is supposed to come from, nor Voidlight. A comment from Venli seems to say Voidlight comes from a ritual prayer, which seems to imply it’s directly bestowed by Odium, which has... implications.
5. That Raboniel thought Storm and Void Light were opposites for so long seems odd to me. Where did Lifelight fit into that? On the one hand, it seems so rare that she might have passed over it; on the other hand, given she obtains some for Navani (from where, though?) and she’s aware of its Tone, clearly it must feature somewhere in her theories.
6. I wonder precisely when Odium integrated so much into Roshar. My first guess would be around the time of the Recreance, given that’s when the Sibling is first weakened. My other guess would be when Odium first arrived, or when the Singers accepted him, though that seems rather too early. But most likely it was something building up for a long, long time.
7. While Raboniel and Navani see the implications in anti-Lights for ending the war, I think Wit foresees something terrible from this creation (as per his discussion with Jasnah on the battlefield). In particular, the explosive force of combining a Light and its anti-Light is very likely to change the scope of warfare.
8. Wit is hilarious and I will quote everything he says.
9. Ace Jasnah confirmed. (I might have prefered aroace Jasnah, but whatevs)
10. FUCK YOU MOASH YOU BASTARD.
11. RIP Teft. I’m seriously gonna miss him.
12. I love that Kaladin’s Plate has Bridge Four on it.
13. “Journey before destination, you bastard.” This book has so many good one-liners.
14. Interesting that Urithiru’s defenses don’t work on the Honorblades. Also, Moash survives again >:( At least 1) He didn’t get out in one piece and 2) The new management deals with him differently.
15. After hearing Ash’s account of Ishar, it probably shouldn’t surprise me all the shit he’s gotten up to. Perhaps one could hope that between leading the exodus to Roshar, creating the Oathpact, and leading the defense in the Desolations, he might have become a better person: but it rather seems he’s retained some of his greatest moral weaknesses or else reverted to some earlier state of mind. Given hints from Dalinar, though, there may very well be something else at play.
16. Holy shit a Herald can fight.
17. Being able to manipulate Connections is rather terrifying. But I still feel like we’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg as to what Ishar (and other surges) can do.
18. It seems clear to me that Ishar is bringing radiant spren into the Physical Realm by essentially rewiring their Connection to the Physical Realm, so that they essentially *become* Physical. Thus why those whose bodies are already more realistic survive better, and why spren like Cryptics come out looking so different: in particular, translating a Cryptic’s head into something physically possible is just too difficult.
19. That being said, while I’m fairly confident on *how*, I’m still not sure on *why*. I suspect he might be trying to either 1) force bonds with spren (though why not just adjust the Connection on a spren I don’t know) 2) find a way to kill sprens or spren-like beings (such as the Fused) 3) somehow extract surge powers. But Ishar does seem to be interested in how long he can keep them alive.
20. Wow. A line I’d thought was just a throwaway lie in WoR coming back in a terrifying way. It does make me wonder whether that was a (unintentially true) falsehood from Taravangian, or if he was actually being honest.
21. Also holy shit Cultivation. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the sheer amount of planning this must have taken her.
22. Like, seriously, the amount of planning to ensure that everything’s in place at a specific day and a specific moment, is just kinda staggering. I may have to do another post just to figure out all the pieces that Cultivation had to have in use at once.
23. That being said, that Taravangian 1) took up the same name (and therefore Intent) as Rayse and 2) hasn’t apparently changed Odium’s game plan at all leaves me very, very worried. On the one hand, Taravangian seems to be much craftier than Rayse (possibly in part because he’s new to the role, though that may be a double-edged sword); on the other hand, Taravangian’s goals seem to be different than Rayse’s (I don’t think “galactic conquest” is what most people have in mind when they say “save them all”, but props for at least having the good of those he conquers in mind rather than his own ambitions). I also suspect that Taravangian would be willing to absorb the other Shards, or even leave them alive if they will cooperate with him (or if he can’t absorb them and can find a cooperative Vessel).
24. Given that Taravangian is going through all the same motions as Rayse, I’m a little curious as to what Cultivation is doing and what she thinks of this. Though perhaps now that Rayse is dead she doesn’t feel the need to intervene in the war (given how little the other Shards seem to involve themselves in the international politics on their worlds).
25. YES Adolin x Maya!!!
26. That the Radiants of the Recreance discussed things with their spren, and that the spren agreed to their plan, seems like something we really should have seen coming. I’m a little less surprised about in universe, given that 1) most humans didn’t understand the nature of the Nahel bond and 2) none of the spren bonded were able to explain their reasoning. Or that none of those involved actually knew what they were getting into by breaking their oaths (or, perhaps as they thought they were doing, *ending* their oaths).
27. Over 2000 honorspren. That’s a full level of magnitude more than what we’d been led to believe had been killed from previous books. It makes me wonder 1) what happened to the spren of those who hadn’t reached the level for a blade yet and 2) *where are all those blades*?
28. I’ve been kinda wondering this about honorium, but where does one find raysium, and what about tanavast-ium and cultivation-ium? And how exactly do all three work / interact with the world?

this post is just my ramblings bc I’ve been reading the book intensely the past two days and things have been spilling out of my brain (spoilers up to ch 95 I guess)
so they mutually decided to break the oaths. they didn’t know full consequences, but they thought the price was worth to save... something. somebody. bodies.
gods dammit I can barely grasp like 30% of the whole cosmere/investiture/shards system going on, there’s so much this can mean.
*throws a dart* is this about making shadesmare and physical realm too close through the bonds and making it easier for odium to escape roshar
*throws another dart* I still seem unable to understand if the radiants abandoning their bonds and the heralds leaving theirs happened at the same time or were two different events lol. and what does that mean if they happened separately (I have a feeling they did. just my memory is terrible).
*thud* was honor killed by odium and then absorbed by him so the radiants had to break the oaths as to not get corrupted. is the storm spren the last free splinter of the honor left uncorrupted. did honor pull the mistborn on the world
*throws another* whose is the anti-Light anyway. Void is Odium’s, Storm is Honor’s, Life’s Cultivation’s. then there’s Towerlight of Sibling which is Honor/Cult., and now we have War of Honor/Odium. it’s getting crowded in here. is the anti-light of Cult./Odium? something else entirely? on top of that even though odium was the newcomer, now his power is part of the local ecosystem. which fair, it’s been a while, it got integrated. and then there was this bit in the epigraphs how the power and the vessel aren’t the same thing necessarily (I feel like I should know that already from mistborn, but I don’t lol), and how Taravangian noticed in his last vision with Odium that the golden light in him was... sickly? on that point, it always felt a little counterintuitive that Odium’s power of all should be warm and golden and nice. but that may not mean anything other than the contrast between its presentation vs odium’s plans. for the flavour.
*plonk* what about that false desolation and something-something-something unmade who jumpstarted it. was that when the radiants and spren decided to break the oaths? * and what about that bit where Sibling said the nodes system was supposed to be larger, but at the time the bondsmith(s) started there was already a decline in radiant ranks (I think?) and there weren’t enough people to implement more than the four nodes (which kinda implied the bondsmith(s) were ones of the last to go), but later Blended (I think) says Sibling somehow terminated their bonds with the bondsmith(s) before the mass dying and that saved the Sibling?
* as an aside why is Wit collecting all the methods of using investiture like pokemons. more access points to investiture?
* I keep forgetting Dawnchant is a thing and that it used symbols which were visual representations of sound vibrations. (if I even remember it right). now what the hell are Dawnshards.
dammit. this is way too much for me. there are already bits I’m forgetting which I’ve read like 4-10h ago, while at the same time some stuff form the previous books is flooding me which I didn’t even know I still remembered.
OH YEAH WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THE SLEEPERS. (I haven’t read Dawnshard yet, but I’m half-convinced it won’t help me make things clearer lol, and I did read Edgedancer)

Megan Reads Oathbringer (part 7)
blerg, I wanted to hit page 500 in the last chunk o’ liveblog, but alas. We continue on. This book is just too dense, the liveblog posts are too long and I will continue to mention that in every one of these posts, ‘cause it’s wild just how much is in here!
Part 7 encompasses pages 476-557 (previous parts)
OOOOOOOH JASNAH POV!!!!
hey, her art bubble is the old Shallan art bubble. that’s...boring. why doesn’t she get her own?
I’m emotional about Taln forever and ever
Jasnah being paranoid about her safety and assassins and stuffing her ventilation shaft with cloths is...so... You don’t expect Jasnah to be scared, but here she is. It makes perfect sense--she got stabbed through the chest, of course she’s scared--but she’s so poised and in control, you just don’t expect it.
OMG Jasnah had back up files of her notes!!! That’s brilliant.
spanreeds are so cool
do we know which type of spren Ivory is? if we do I don’t remember.
just keep reading, Megan, they’ll tell you. Inkspren. ...of course.
also, I’d been wondering how Jasnah was “broken”--since all the Radiants are--and somehow I never expected childhood illness. that’s a logical breaking point, but I never even thought of it.
THERE WAS A JASNAH AND HOID’S MOST EXCELLENT ADVENTURE!!! THERE WAS!!! I’VE BEEN ROBBED!!!
but also, wtf did she learn, what did she learn from him. I’m guessing it’s the same thing the Stormfather refused to tell Dalinar... about all ten orders returning.
god, I really, really hope that my theory about them replacing the Heralds is wrong. I don’t want that. ..
(It’s a good theory though; the first new members of the ten orders all make a new Oathpact at the end of the fifth book. the back five are about their first time breaking and the first Desolation post-this one. It’s awful and I don’t want it, but you gotta admit, it’s an interesting theory, at least in a meta way.)
also I’m sad no one likes the honorspren. Syl is such a good. then again, she’s different than her peeps, she always says.
gaahhh, the Moash chapters are killing me every time I see that patchless shoulder I just die a lil bit inside
“Compared to bridge duty, this was paradise.” I’M CRYING??? This is so, so much the ‘I did that, so I can survive anything’ mentality and I’m cry.
okay, but can all of the Fused use all of the Surges? or do they all do different things? Do they have the equivalent of radiant orders?
(I’m going to be so excited if Moash gets a spren, but I feel like he maybe has to take responsibility for his actions first...)
aaahh Moash is taking the Kaladin route of “I don’t care about these people but storm it, I’m helping them anyway”.
OH SHIT Those are the ones who Kaladin helped, aren’t they... they brought “a false god” that was Kaladin shit shit shit they are getting punished for him. He would die if he knew, oh god.
AAAHH MOASH IS A GOOD “You’re becoming like us” Ohhhh goooddd yep. yep. wow. Be better. Do better. The theme of this book, and I love it. I LOVE MOASH AAHHH
punk!Dalinar not being allowed to fight is wild.
OOOHH THEY DIDN’T TELL HIM HE’S BEEN HURTING PEOPLE?? WHY!!!!?? YOU GOTTA TELL HIM HE’S DESTROYING PEOPLE’S LIVES BY BEING A BLACKOUT DRUNK AND FIGHTING PEOPLE
THAT’S NOT A GOOD THING AND HE SHOULD KNOW THAT
his name means “born unto light” oh my god that’s delightful oh my god
ohno. you should not send Dalinar back to war, u should keep him at home and maybe find him a therapist to talk to him about the Thrill...
FLYING KHOLINS AHOY!!
“something profoundly disconcerting about being out on the ocean” disconcerting? You’ve misspelled exciting.
They are holding hands while flying that’s adorable
I love that it’s “Elhokar’s team” when we all know Kaladin will end up in charge, much to Adolin’s chagrin...
No comment on what Dalinar’s hair looks like all windswept, obviously that means he’s been windswept into full greaser-style pompadour.
“shellheads” really? wtf. you didn’t call them that before. it’s only after they gain sentience that you give them derogatory nicknames?
High King Dalinar founding his own kingdom is wild to think about...
All of Navani’s scribes and engineers are so excitable. I love it.
Dalinar sneaking about without guards is nervewracking. Pls be safe, buddy.
“what else were important lighteyes going to do with unmotivated children?” Uuh...motivate them? Don’t just throw them aside to the church and expect them to drain resources by doing nothing for the rest of their lives? Find some way for them to be productive members of society? Why is this such a hard concept?
Fucking lighteyes
“He was RURAL Alethi he CAN’T be a HERALD” fuck off, Kadash. Kaladin is from a backwater and he’s a Radiant. And Taln wasn’t a king. We know this.
“No spiritual basis for rule” seems like a good thing to me...separation fo church and state and all that...
Something I’m not surprised that Vorinism sucks ass at caring for the mentally ill...
Yeah, ok, but who cut Taln’s wall from the outside? one of the other Heralds? Someone who still has their honorblade? Or some...Diagram/Ghostblood/SonofHonor mofo who realized before we did that Taln is a Herald? I’M CONCERNED FOR MY ANCIENT BROKEN SON
“Lately, he didn’t much like himself.” Noooooo, Moaaaashhh!! I still like you! A lot!!!
I am absolutely delighted that the Fused point their toes when they are flying. My synchronized swimming ass is just...DELIGHTED
“You don’t farm an apocalypse.” heheheh
The tavern is called the Fallen Tower? really? Dalinar’s army fell at the Tower... and Bridge Four saved them. really.
omg noooo noooooooooo no
nooo
nooooooooo
that’s
a lumberyard. and
ladderruns. that’s the same damn thing oh god
no, I don’t want this.
Let Moash Live 2k17
There’s a weird trend of swapping PoVs in the middle of a chapter. I’m not used to it.
“They acted like they owned her already.” I mean...they kinda do, Shallan. You kinda fucked up with them.
“without her having to remain at the meeting” hon, you are needed at the meetings for reasons other than your mapmaking skills??
“I am my own woman” teeeechnically, you’re...what, Taravangian’s subject now? Right, he’s in charge of Vedenar.
Evi deserves better than punk!Dalinar. Him yelling at her because she invaded his manly man-space is gross and he should stop
Navani just chilling with Evi and Ialai is wild. I legit can’t imagine them all getting along.
Also, I love that Renarin’s name is just a name. I love the convoluted meaning of nothing. it’s great.
Evi is a Good and she! deserves! better!
oh god babies
tiny, tiny babies
Evil flying chulls!! Tiny Adolin is too cute oh god
Just writing down that page 519 is the glyph alphabet. That’s important, you know. :)
NanKhet’s list of assassination attempts and then his like... banquet of executions. is some Greek mythology shit up in here. That’s #yikes
Pastry chef scholar man! I love it! I love that there aRE people in Vorin lands who don’t adhere to Vorinism’s gender roles, people who think gender roles are for squares.
Hello Darkness My Old Friend has waaay too many names. Nakku, Nalan, Nale. This is why I just still call him Hello Darkness.
“Did you misplace her?” One does not simply misplace Lift.
They keep talking about how Thaylen City was super wrecked by the Everstorm and that’s fair, but like...has anyone heard from Shin? Talk about being unprotected for a wrong-way highstorm...
Jasnah reflexively sucking in Stormlight the second Amaram appears in the doorway is Big Mood.
“Other than the fact that you are a detestable buffoon who acheives only the lowest level of mediocrity, as it is the best your limited mind can imagine? I can’t possibly think of a reason.” GOD FUCKING BLESS.
“Give me an excuse. I dare you.” BIGGEST MOOD EVER OH MY GOD
yeah, you run away. fucker.
“The Windrunner” “the flying bridgeman” “brightlord broodingeyes” HE HAS A NAME, LADIES. He has a name.
I’m super tired of everyone--especially Jasnah--underestimating and disregarding Renarin.
And then he goes and does COOL SHIT LIKE FIND THE RESONATING LIBRARY!!!!??
Also, Jasnah can infuse gems with light? wacky fun.
oohh LIghtweaving isn’t just light it’s “and various waveforms” Renarin’s LIghtweaving is super different from Shallan’s isn’t it!!? I can’t want to see MOAR SURGES
Nooooo, Moash.... you gotta do the Kaladin thing! You can’t let go! Look at you, you are already helping the people he helped. You can’t stop yourself any more than he could. You’re not here to let go. You’re here to remember how to care.
Moash bby, I know you are prone to stupid decisions, but please...please don’t do anything stupid...
.........like that.
okay, creepy flying in charge lady. is creepy.
Okay, teaching the parshmen how to spear is good? sort of? from a certain point of view.
Ooooh Rlain pov!!! That’s new and interesting.
you know why is he here? How did he not get eaten by the first Everstorm?
HECK YE ALL FIVE LADY SCOUT WINDRUNNER SQUIRES HEEECKKK YYESSSSS
THEMS MY GIRLS
“He loved them because they did try.” Aaaahhhhh
“That’s like...extra manly.” I’m not sure that’s how being gay works, but I’ma roll with it. :D
“I guess it’s just a thing men say. Can you tell me how it feels?” “I can try.” KALADIN IS A GOOD WHO IS TRYING VERY HARD AND RLAIN IS ALSO A GOOD WHO IS TRYING VERY HARD AND I’M EMOTIONAL
I am so glad they are Trying Together.
That is an interesting question...did the magic stagnate them? stop people from being interested in finding non-magic ways of doing things? not just steel, but like...idk, indoor plumbing and better ways of farming, or anything that a Soulcaster can do. Why would you need better ways when you have the magic way?
It’s a very Harry Potter Wizard Wolrd mentality, tbh.
Oh shit, the Recreance was 2k years AFTER the Heralds bugged out and broke the Oathpact? That’s a long time for them to keep going without their leaders? and then to suddenly stop after all that time? whyyyy
what did they learn? about their spren? Jasnah knows.
Oh no!!!
nooo
he can hear the spren dying!!!???? OH NOOO
OH SNAP
WHAT
WHAT
NO
UM??? WHAT
THE FUCK?
HOW DID HE HACK DALINAR’S VISION?? WHERE DID HE COME FROM? HOW DID HE GET HERE? HOW DANGEROUS IS HE IN THIS FORM? HOW IS HE HERE?
WHAT
IS
HAPPENING
god, how many times did Dalinar rely on the Thrill? that’s got to leave some kind of bond, some connection. Something Odium can exploit.
God, it’s still really weird to think of Odium--the bad guy--as light, gold, white. it’s refreshing, but also wtf
Ah, fuck off, you’re not a god. The Shardholders are not gods. They’re just dudes with extra powerful magic. Ask Sazed.
God, okay, the STormfather is so. scared. wtf.
Oooohh, he hasn’t gotten Cultivation yet. She’s hidden and he’s bound--not very well if he’s here now, but still.
Can she help us?
Why does he...have to kill people? Is it because he’s the avatar of hatred of something else?
...interesting. Passion.
..........interesting that the Thaylens worship the Passions.
Also, I resent that if he’s All Sorts of Emotion/Passion, there’s the implication that all emotion eventually leads to violence, and I RESENT THAT SO HARD
oh snap, Cultivation is the Nightwatcher? What? I did not expect that...
goes further to the None of the Three Shards Are Good or Bad
though Odium might be lying...
what the shit
was that the Odium hell planet?
Did....did Lift just... scare him away?
I’m increaingly thinking shes got a bit of Cultivation in her. She’s not just a kiddo, and not just a Radiant, there’s something funky going on with her, and I think it’s something powerful enough to scare Odium.. hm...
EEEEYYYYY END PART TWO!!!!!
eww gross, Taravangian AND Venli? Bad interludes are bad. Where’s Szeth? I miss him.
