Coffee Shop Boy
~
Chapter Six:
Sorawit awoke to the abrupt stopping of the engine, leaning up off of That's back he groggily asked.
"Are we here"
"Umm" That responded removing his helmet and getting off his bike to help Sorawit with his.
As That began to remove Sorawit's helmet, Sorawit stared into his eyes aimlessly maybe it was the tiredness that made That look so handsome in the moonlight or maybe That was just handsome. It was mostly likely the latter Sorawit thought, even when That was all battered and bruised Sorawit still thought he looked good.
Without a second thought he reached for That and gently touched his cheek. That holted his movement Sorawit's helmet still clutched in his hand.
"Why is it..." Sorawit trailed off possibly losing his train of thought to That's deep eyes, but deep down he knew if he said what he was going to he'd regret it in the morning.
"Sora" That called out gently leaning in and landing his forehead on Sorawit.
Now he was 100% sure that he'd regret this tomorrow, having That this close was tempting him. He wanted to close the space between them. But what would that mean, what would happen if he did. In this moment Sorawit was scared, scared of what he was feeling.
"Don't over think" That whispered staring deeply into Sorawit's eyes.
'Overthink' Sorawit thought, That had been telling him not to over think all night what does that even mean. Sorawit was officially over thinking.
Sorawit swallowed his confusion and protest eventhough he so desperately wanted to ask That what he was thinking, what he was feeling. It was only then when Sorawit had let out a shake breath had That slowly removed his forehead from his, and it was the distance left between them that Sorawit hated.
In moments like this That seemed only further away and Sorawit couldn't stand it, he also couldn't stand that he didn't know why he was feeling this way.
"Sora, your doing it again" That reprimanded gently touching the side of Sorawit's face to bring him out of his thoughts. Sorawit's eyes darted to That's in surprise his face flushing immediately, see it was moments like this that made Sorawit feel as if his heart was going to beat out of his chest.
"You make it sound so easy" Sorawit mumbled finally snapping out of his sleepy haze and averting his gaze from that of That's.
The older boy only scoffed in response before removing his hand and helping Sorawit off his bike.
"Are you coming tomorrow" Sorawit asked rolling his eyes at That and trying to contain the want in his voice. Although That had only come to the shop two mornings Sorawit felt like morning shifts weren't the same if he wasn't there.
"Do you want me to" That asked lazily tilting his head to the side.
'Huh' Sorawit thought. Why is it that That always speaks in riddles just like when the waitress gave him her number he had asked him what he wanted him to do with it. What is it that, That wanted from him.
Before Sorawit could respond a loud cough came from behind them.
"Sorawit, what time do you call this"
Sorawit peeked over That only to see a rather angry Bun. He froze Bun wasn't suppose to be back until the early hours of the morning, in fact it was a miracle Sorawit was able to get out without encountering Bun. He was meant to be off on his temporary suspension until tomorrow but they called him in, in the evening because they needed urgent help.
"Ha... Not that late" Sorawit awkwardly responded as he took a glance at That who was now also facing Bun.
That looked so calm completely unfazed by the current situation, although it was completely unwarranted and probably not the best thing to be thinking at this moment but That also looked handsome with a straight face.
"Late for a school night and someone who has the morning shift tomorrow" Bun shot back clearly eying up That with distaste.
"Sorry..." Sorawit mumbled out giving Bun the biggest puppy eyes possible.
"We'll talk about it inside... and you are?" Bun finished turning to That to question.
"He's -" Sorawit started before being completely cut off by Bun.
"Wasn't talking to you"
"A friend" That responsed glancing at Sorawit out of the corner of his eyes.
Okay Sorawit won't lie that line stung a bit but it was the truth they were friends, so why did it hurt he wanted to be That's friend right???
"I've met all of Sorawit friends but you so I'm not completely sure about that response" Bun said tapping his feet the impatience in his voice obvious.
"P'Bun, P'That is a new friend and he has other things to do than be interrogated by you" Sorawit said quickly throwing That a wave and a smile before dragging Bun inside the Pink Lily.
And like that That was left standing in the pale moonlight.
~
"So do you plan on telling me what that was about" Bun prodded the moment they stepped inside.
"What about your suspension P' do you plan on telling me about that" Sorawit shot back raising his eyebrow at Bun slightly annoyed by his response.
Bun never cared when Sorawit hung out with Nam on a school day so why did he respond so hostily when it came to That. Okay he wasn't stupid he knew why That didn't look exactly like someone that he'd normally associate himself with, he was way more rough around the edges than Sorawit but Bun didn't know him like he did. That can be soft when he wanted to. Okay guarntee he only knew That for a couple days it was still way more than how long Bun knew That.
"Don't change the subject!" Bun repremended getting a little bit annoyed at the fact that Sorawit brought up his suspension.
"Fine P' I just went to eat with him, we met when I was working the early morning shift, he seems cool and we get along well" Sorawit gave in a spilled the beans or at least a little bit.
Bun still looked unimpressed by his reply but didn't bother to push further.
"Okay that may be the case but he doesn't look like the type you should get too close to, he looks like trouble" Bun said moving to lock the shop door.
"That's just how he looks" Sorawit countered back, for some reason he didn't like to hear it when someone spoke bad about That.
"Sorawit!" Bun shot back firmly.
"Fine P'Bun I'll be careful" Sorawit could only give in, in the end after all he knew why Bun was being so protective after their parents died they only had each other to depend on and no matter what Bun always wanted the best for him. However regardless of that he liked That so surely it was okay, sure he doesn't have the best background but being around him made Sorawit feel good so was it really wrong to hang out with him.
After Bun finished locking all the doors Sorawit snapped out of his thoughts and questioned Bun on what he had been curious about all night.
"About your suspension" Sorawit carefully asked plopping down on one of the stools infront of the till.
"You really won't let that go" Bun sighed going around to the register and checking it before locking it up.
"NoPe" Sorawit responded emphasising the p.
"Okay, I got into more trouble with that Tan guy after bringing in a guy with a bullet wound they brought in a girl that was half dead and off her head on drugs. So of course I went to question but none of my superiors could give a reason and just told me not to worry about it. HOW CAN I NOT WORRY WHEN A GIRL IS ABOUT TO DIE. So then against my better judgement I went to pick a fight with Tan and to spite me he reported me for misconduct, suspension was the least harshest punishment they could give me." Bun finished letting out a annoyed sigh.
"Ah, the P' maybe you should stay away from this Tan guy" Sorawit laughed softly, it was fun giving Bun a bit of his own advice.
"Very funny Sorawit, good thing the saying goes do a I say not as I do" Bun scoffed flicking Sorawit on his forehead.
"Well if this Tan guy can get you suspended he could probably do a lot worse, you need to be careful" Sorawit pouted.
"I know but that's for me to worry about, now up you go make sure you've done all your homework" Bun replied shooing Sorawit up stairs clearly not taking his words too seriously.
~
As Sorawit entered his room he glanced at all of the work prowled across his desk and sighed.
'A problem for tomorrow's Sorawit' he thought falling back onto his bed. As his eyes fluttered closed he wondered what That was doing now.
BING~
Sorawit's eyes darted open immediately sitting up and pulling his phone out of his back pocket.
TheRealThat: Did you get in trouble?
Sorawit stared at the message on his phone for at least a minute before responding, the thought alone that That was worried about him gave him butterflies.
Sorawit: Of course not he couldn't even if he wanted too, I'm way to adorable to scold 😤.
Sorawit felt anxious as soon as he send it, something he never got when he texted Nam.
TheRealThat: True.
'Huh?' Sorawit thought almost dropping his phone when he saw the incoming message. Did That just kind of say that he thought he was cute.
TheRealThat: I can feel you overthinking from here anyway gtg I was just checking up on you.
Sorawit: I soo wasn't, but be safe don't get hurt😊.
Sorawit sighed throwing his phone somewhere in the mess of pillows on his bed. Getting up and walking over to his desk he decided that today's Sorawit would tackle this problem after all, may be homework would stop him from think about That.
That was worried about him and thought he was cute. How was he meant to process all of that. Sorawit panted his face on his desk flushing red at the exchange eventhough it was nothing much.
Only That made him feel as though he was out of air, like he was constantly floating and waiting to fall.
~
Sorawit was back in his usually routine Bun off to work and him handling to early morning shifts, it was relaxing to finally be back in the flow of things. Of course pushing aside the fact that he sent That a message this morning about coming to the shop and he still hasn't replied, things were going reasonably well for him he understood and completely his homework yesterday and got a good night sleep.
As Sorawit was mopping around completely all the tasks he needed to, at exactly 4:20 the door chimed and without even looking a smile grew on his face.
"You came after all" Sorawit looked up at That, smile freezing as soon as their eyes met.
Infront of Sorawit there stood That literally looking like death. His face was more purple than it usual pale golden colour, his left eye was swollen, and looked like he couldn't see a thing. His face still bears congealed blood and his clothes are an utter mess not the normal effortless look he carries even when he came in the first time he looked better.
Sorawit didn't even have to wait for him to open his mouth he was already on his feet and making his way over to him.
"That, oh my god..." Sorawit trailed off gently cupping the shorter boys face, he was so engrossed in checking the boy over to even realise that his vision was blurring and tears were streaking down his face.  Sorawit felt like he couldn't breathe.
"Sorawit," That gently called out hands reaching up to wipe his tears the look of shock was obvious on his face but Sorawit was too busy crying to notice.
"I'm fine it doesn't hurt" That stumble out a look of unsureness clouding his face.
"Doesn't hurt my ass, sit down" Sorawit hiccuped trying to stop himself from crying more as he gently guided That over to the seat infornt of the register.
Sorawit was reluctant to even takes his eyes off him for a second but he made his way over to the door and flipped over the open sign to closed. 'Bun is going to be mad at me for this' but Sorawit couldn't really bring himself to care, walking passed That Sorawit retrieved the first aid kit from the back and makes his way back over to That.
"I don't think that will do much this time" That joked clearly trying to lighten the mood and make Sorawit laugh.
"This isn't funny That" Sorawit for once in his life was serious and That was making jokes he felt like crying again.
"Sorry, I know but I don't like when you frown if I knew you'd react this way I wouldn't have come" That responsed turning his face so that Sorawit could get a better look at the worst of his injuries. His eye.
"How did you expect me to react" Sorawit questioned looking at That like he was stupid. Dropping his hand from That's jaw he bit back the tears that were again threatening to fall again and although That said it didn't hurt it clearly did because just an ice pack wasn't going to fix it.
Walking into the back he pulled out an ice pack out of the freezer and walked back.
"I don't know, I just didn't think you'd cry" That stammered out still surprised with Sorawit's reaction.
"Why wouldn't I, it hurts to see you hurt" Sorawit let the tears that he was holding back flow, and That's whole body froze but before he could reach out Sorawit gently held the ice pack up to his eye. It was at this moment Sorawit realised he had been shaking.
"You need to go to the hospital" Sorawit interrupted before That could speak.
"You're mad" That stated reaching around Sorawit's hand and wiping his tears gently with his thumb.
"No, I'm worried, scared and shocked but not mad"
Sorawit couldn't be mad even if he tried, removing the ice pack from his eyes he leaned closer in to get a better look at how swollen it was. In any other given situation Sorawit would have been flustered by the proximity.
"Sorry-" That whispered keeping his hand in place on Sorawit's cheek and staring softly into his eyes.
"How did you get it?" Sorawit cut him off again as he tossed the ice pack to the side breaking eye contact with That and causing his hand to fall from his cheek, there wasn't much he could do for That he need the hospital.
"I work as a bouncer Sorawit I get into fights" That stated as it was a matter of fact.
"That I'm alot but not stupid not that stupid at least, bouncers get into fights but not as constantly as you do and no where near half as bad as you do, you looking more like you work as a punching bag" Sorawit rambled out annoyed and angry at how That was so blatantly not telling him the whole.
"Sora-"
"No That enough you need to go to the hospital, now" Sorawit said walking around the counter to the door.
"I'll have someone take me later but Sora-" That was again sharply cut off but this time by an abrupt knock at the door.
"Those are customers" Sorawit mumbled opening the door and flipping over the sign.
The usual customers filtered in not sparing That any attention as he left. Sorawit didn't want him to go on his own he wanted to go with but he was worried he'd say things he didn't mean. That kept keeping things from him never telling him the full truth and he knows that they haven't know each other for long but he has been nothing but open to That about everything.
The entire shift Sorawit walked around with his puffy eyes and a horrible sinking feeling in stomach but worst of all his heart hurt.

Boo I'm fashionable back 🤪 .

Chapter Five
~
"What you staring at?" Nam asked as she peered over Sorawit's shoulder.
"Nothing" Sorawit responded staring blankly at his phone.
It had been a couple hours since he'd texted That and there was still no response, he hadn't even bothered to read it.
'Was i coming on too strong'
Sorawit thought, the last thing he wanted to appear as was pushy. He just really wanted to be friends with That.
"Well you're zoning out" Nam pushed lifting her eyebrow questioningly.
"Well it's nothing" Sorawit mumbled laying his head down on his desk.
'Should I tell her'
Sorawit thought pursing his lips.
Why did That have to make everything so difficult, why was he impossible to talk to and to talk about?
"Sorawit, I literally tell you everything about me, everything that happens to me. Cause we're friends right, friends tell each other things" Nam said patting his head.
It was rare for her or anyone really to see Sorawit think, of course in the context that it wasn't anything about school. Sorawit was never really the person to ponder about things for too long, it hurt his brain. Any way over thinking was more of Nam's thing.
"Umm, we are... it's just not that big of a deal" Sorawit replied lifting up his head and turning to look at Nam.
"Well it must be you've never been this quiet before, just lay it on me." Nam spoke plopping herself on top of his desk.
"Fine..." Sorawit said giving in.
It wasn't that he didn't like talking about That, he really did it was just... It felt like something he shouldn't be doing, it made him feel weird inside.
So just like that Sorawit proceeded to tell Nam all about the very mysterious boy from the coffee shop.
"That?" Nam repeated.
For some reason that name seemed to ring a bell, she could have swore she heard Pong say it a couple times when he was on the phone.
"What, do you know him?" Sorawit probed his eyes lighting up and filling with curiosity.
"No, I was just wondering if that was all you were worring about" Nam sighed before looking at him like he was stupid.
Nam decided not to push any further after all anyone that knew Pong were bad news just like him and all though Sorawit could be a bit dim at times she was pretty sure that he could tell the bad type from the good type. Plus Pong was always secretive when he was on the phone, so she could have just heard him wrong.
"What do you mean this is a big deal to me, what if he doesn't want to be my friend anymore" Sorawit said beginning to pout again.
"Friends" Nam questioned.
"Umm what else would we be" Sorawit asked confused as he tilted his head.
"Nope, nothing friends is a great start." Nam quickly spoke completely amused by Sorawit's response.
Just as Sorawit was about to continue to question Nam, Miss Jane walked in and everyone including Nam scrambled back to their desks.
"Good morning Miss Jane" all the students said in unison standing up to great her.
As they sat down Sorawit frowned,
'Why did Nam say it like that' he thought leaning his hand on his chin.
~
Just about half way through the lesson Sorawit felt like he was going to die, all this stuff literally went in one ear and out the other.
Sorawit let out a huff before glancing at Nam and of course she was completely absorbed in the lesson. This all made Sorawit feel ten times worse, this whole studying thing just wasn't working out for him.
BUZZ~
Before Sorawit could continue to question all his life decisions he felt his phone begin to vibrate in his pocket.
'Huh, who's texting me' Sorawit thought,
It was strange because no one ever texted him whilst he was in school for two reasons, one being they (literally only nam and Bun maybe Ploy too) knew better and the other being Sorawit in fact had yet to make very many friends.
So to narrow it down the person mostly to be texting him must be That. Coming to this revelation Sorawit let a smile break free onto his face, it was only just now that he had remembered what he had been so anxious about. He was still waiting for a reply from That about the question he had asked this morning.
Looking up at Miss Jane Sorawit took the risk and pulled out his phone.
TheRealThat: yeah I have some time later, what do you want to do.
Sorawit almost scoffed at his response,
'why was he so nonchalant about everything.'
Sorawit: Just hang out, maybe get dinner. ☺
Sorawit stared at the text a little longer than normal before sending it. He wanted to avoid any mistakes, like last time.
Placing his phone back into his pocket Sorawit engaged back into the lesson.
However, it was until long when the room was completely silent had Sorawit received a response from That..
BUZZ~
Sorawit's eyes shot up at once from his workbook making sure the vibration hadn't grabbed the attention of Miss Jane, luckily it hadn't she was too focused on helping a student grasp the topic.
Sorawit slipped out his phone again and looked at the message That had sent.
TheRealThat:Okay.
Eventhough the response was nothing much to smile about Sorawit could help the smile that crept onto his face.
Sorawit: Cool. we should meet outside the coffee shop, nearby there's this auntie I know who makes really good hotpots.😆
"Sorawit you seem quite occupied with something other than the lesson" Miss Jane said placing her hand infront of Sorawit clearly signalling for his phone.
He smiled sheepishly, he was engrossed in texting That that he hadn't noticed her presence.
"Sorry." Sorawit mumbled his face flushing a deep shade of red as he placed his phone into her hand.
"Come for it at the end of the day, if I catch you on it again I'll take it for the rest of the year." Miss Jane said seriously but her eyes were filled with playfulness.
Sorawit could instantly tell that she was only joking but like ant teacher she of course had high standards and expectations, so in a situation like this she would only follow the normal procedures. Such as removing the item of distraction.
After that Miss Jane had quickly resumed the lesson, the students that once had their eyes glued to Sorawit turned all their attention back to the lesson.
Sorawit was relieved he honestly could stand the attention and apart from the questioning looks he got from Nam everyone else seemed completely amused buy the fact he got caught with his phone.
For the rest of the lesson Sorawit could only pout and hope that That had seen his message.
~
After collecting his phone from Miss Jane (which was obviously followed by a lecture) he quickly turned it on to check his messages.
TheRealThat: Sure. Time?
"Now, now what were you doing on your phone that was worth getting in all that trouble" Nam said as she popped out behind Sorawit trying to get a good look at his phone.
"Ah, nothing." Sorawit gasped out quickly stuffing his phone into his pocket.
'Wait'
'Why am I hiding' Sorawit thought.
It's not like Nam didn't know. But once again the words seemed to get stuck in his throat.
"Ummm, taking me home today or no." Nam nodded eyeing him down suspiciously.
"Sorry, I'm busy today Pong's not bothering you anymore right?" Sorawit said apologetically.
"Fine, luckily I haven't heard from Pong in the last couple days actually." Nam responded as she followed Sorawit to the school gate.
"Well that's a good thing right?" Sorawit asked pulling out his phone to quickly respond back to That.
Sorawit: Is 6pm OK.
"I guess, but it's not really like him he's usually way more persistent" Nam shrugged pushing back her hair and sighing.
"Well maybe he just found someone else to bother" Sorawit assured nodding his head in content.
"It's not a good thing I can handle it other girls may not be able to" Nam disagreed shaking her head at Sorawit before heading in the direction of the bus stop outside the school gate.
"I didn't mean it like that." Sorawit quickly stammered out, of course it came out the wrong way.
This was one of Sorawit's biggest flaws he would say things without explanations assuming people would just automatically him.
Communication was never easy for him hence Nam being his only friend, like ever.
"I know don't worry about it, see you tomorrow." Nam smiled before turning away from him to check the bus times.
Sorawit pouted before replying,
"Umm bye"
Sorawit turned away climbing onto his bike and starting his journey home.
'Why did Nam think it was her job to protect others' Sorawit couldn't help but think, Nam has always been way too caring for her own good.
BUZZ~
Sorawit pulled his bike to a halt almost instantly to check his phone.
TheRealThat: Busy. I can do 7:00.
Without being able to help it once again a smile immediately pulled onto his face.
Sorawit: Great I'll see you then ☺
~
Sorawit 100% had not spent the last two hours infront of his mirror contemplating what to wear not at all he just wanted to look good that's all. (Sure 😉)
By the time Sorawit had picked an outfit which consisted of an oversized yellow hoodie and light blue ripped jeans That was already waiting outside.
"Did you wait long" Sorawit poked his head out the door flashing That a sweet smile.
"Just got here" That reply pulling himself off his motorbike.
Sorawit couldn't help but be taken aback, That always seemed to look so effortlessly handsome in nothing but a black hoodie and black ripped jeans.
"Then let's get going" Sorawit quickly retracted his gaze from That and stepped outside closing the coffee shop door behind him.
Luckily Bun was still at work and Ploy wasn't working today so Sorawit wad able to slip out completely unnoticed.
"Here." That said handing a spare black helmet to Sorawit.
"Huh." Sorawit paused tilting his head completely confused as to why That was handing him it.
"There's not much up there is there" That teased with that same ridiculing smirk pulling onto his face, however the endearment in his going completely unnoticed by the younger.
"Huh what did I do, you just got here and you're already picking a fight with me" Sorawit pouted turning his head away from That.
"We're taking my bike Sora" That said softly stepping back into Sorawit's view and placing the helmet on his head gently.
'Sora'
Sorawit flushed in a instant, the nickname felt strangely intimate to him. It was weird no one else had ever called him that before.
Looking cautiously at That Sorawit saw that he was completely unfazed by what had happened, he was just casually fixing his own helmet.
"Get on" That spoke hopping onto to his motorbike.
Now looking at it closely Sorawit noticed that That's bike looked the exact same as the bike that he had saw Pong with.
"You coming" That teased once again pulling Sorawit out of his thoughts.
"Coming, why are we even taking your bike we can walk you know" Sorawit questioned gently getting onto his bike.
"Quicker" That responsed taking Sorawit hands and wrapping them around his waist tightly.
This action alone had managed to make Sorawit stiffen.
"What scared" That mocked obviously feeling Sorawit stiffen.
"No" Sorawit muttered clenching his hands and wrapping them around That Hoodie.
Sorawit didn't even hesitate to let that lie loose into the night air the last thing he wanted was for That to bully him more. Honestly he had never rode on a motorbike before mostly because he never had the chance to in Bangkok and since he moved to Viangpa Mork he could basically just take his bike everywhere. But that wasn't the reason he stiffened.
"Sure" That shook his head before starting his bike.
"Guide me okay" he added before taking off down the street leaving the Pink Lily far behind.
~
By the time they had arrived the outside eating area was already half full.
"Aunt May" Sorawit called out quickly attracting the attention of a sweet looking middle aged woman.
"Ahh Sorawit I haven't seen you in a while" she said beeming brightly at him as she made her way over.
"Ah Nam didn't come with you" May continued her eyes quickly landing on That.
"Ah, no I came with my friend That today" Sorawit explained pointing at That.
That greated May politely before turning his gaze else where.
"Oh that's good I'm glad to see you making more friends" May continued to smile sweetly yet that smile did not seem to reach her eyes as she glanced at That.
"Do you think we would be able get at table tonight it seems busy" Sorawit asked putting on his biggest puppy eyes.
That scoffed.
Hearing That Sorawit poked his side harshly cause That to glare at him.
"Of course what kind of owner would I be if I wasn't able to find a table for my favourite customer" May laughed before guiding them over to a empty table in the back.
May handed them menus before leaving however not without reminding Sorawit to order lots.
As soon as she left That instantly opened his mouth to speak.
"Pick whatever you want I'll buy it"
"Didn't I invite you out to eat?" Sorawit asked taking his eyes off the menu to look at That.
"Fine you can pay if you want" That spoke placing his menu down on the table.
"No no it's fine I don't want to" Sorawit smiled sheepishly turning his attention back to the menu.
That laughed before signal over a waitress.
"Hi what can I get you" She said with her eyes completely on That.
"Sora" That called.
Once again Sorawit found that his heart seemed to missed a beat.
"Yeah, oh can we get the spicy lamb hotpot please. You can do spice right" Sorawit said glancing between both the waitress and That.
"Umm" That responded staring right back at him.
"Sure, what drinks would you like with that" she asked smiling softly in That's direction.
"I'd like thai iced tea please" Sorawit responded finally catching onto the fact the waitress was unable to take her eyes off That. And for some reason it made him a bit uncomfortable.
"Coke" That said taking Sorawit's menu and handing it to her along with his.
"Okay I'll have your food with you shortly" she said before leaving. Sorawit noticed her eyes linger of That before she left.
Of course they did That was attractive.
Sorawit flushed.
"Are you hot" That asked glancing around as if looking for something to fan him with.
"No I'm fine" Sorawit stammered out avoiding That's eyes.
"Ah I remember now this morning you stopped before you answered my question" Sorawit said subconsciously changing the subject.
"There isn't much else to say about it" That replied.
"Well..." Sorawit pondered.
"Why The Mist, my brother says that place is dangerous you should be careful" Sorawit said voicing his concerns.
"It's not dangerous" That laughed at Sorawit's innocence.
"Well how do you end up with all those bruises?" Sorawit continued to question.
However their Q&A session was quickly interrupted by the same waitress from earlier.
"Please enjoy" she smiled placing the food and drinks down along with her own number scribbled on a piece of paper before scurrying away.
Sorawit felt his heart twist at the sight of the piece of paper his mind already forgetting the complaint he was about to voice out.
"Let's eat" That said dismissing Sorawit's curiosity as he tossed the piece of paper into the bin next to their table.
"Huh why would you throw it away" Sorawit asked poking his head over the side of the table.
"What do you want me to keep it" That said as he stopped setting up the hotpot to look at Sorawit.
"What does it have to do with me" Sorawit said avoiding That's eyes.
All though he won't admit it a small part of him was very happy that he had thrown away her number, but his still felt unsettled. This must be normal for That,
'What if he didn't accept it because he already has a girlfriend" Sorawit found his head filling with thought like that.
"Your right it has nothing to do with you" That spoke pulling his eyes away from Sorawit to check the hotpot.
That sentence alone maybe Sorawit's heart ache and he didn't know why. Maybe he wanted That to say that they were friends so his opinion mattered.
"Don't over think your brain might overheat" That laughed as he placed a bit of lamb onto Sorawit's plate.
"I'm not." Sorawit scoffed picking up the lamb and stuffing it into his mouth.
"Umm" That hummed as he picked at the hotpot.
At least half an hour has passed, the time mostly being filled with Sorawit talking about school or talkimg about complete nonsense before he had finally remembered.
"Ah you never did get to ask me a question" Sorawit said placing down his chopsticks and sipping at his iced tea.
"Don't have one" That replied leaning back comfortably in his chair.
"Think of one then, quick" Sorawit urged him.
"Favourite colour" That said eyes meeting Sorawit's expecting one's.
"Boring but it has to be between yellow and pink" Sorawit said with a light laugh.
RING~
Just as That was about to speak his phone began to ring.
A look of reluctance edged onto his face before he pulled out his phone to answer.
"What I said I was going to be busy tonight" That's suddenly cold voice started Sorawit a bit.
After a few back and forths That scoffed hanging up his phone and raising his hand to signal the waitress.
"Something came up" he said before pulling out his wallet to pay the bill.
"That's fine, is it serious" Sorawit asked as he followed That out of the restaurant not before saying a quick goodbye to May of course.
"Don't worry" That said softly placing the helmet on Sorawit's head once again before doing his own.
"Then let's do this again when you have more time" Sorawit mumbled as he got back onto That's bike the same way he had done on the way here.
"Umm call me and I'll find time" That replied as he tightened Sorawit's hands around his waist and took off down the road.
Sorawit yawned before whispering out
"That"
...
"I hope we can become closer in the future," Sorawit said before continuing in his heart.
Cause right now you feel so far apart.
After getting no response Sorawit laid his head on That's back and found himself nodding off to the sound of the wind in his ears and the soft thumps of That's heart.

Chapter Two
~
Just as he thought by the time he had finished his shift and set off for school Sorawit managed to completely forget about his encounter with very mysterious That.
~
As he walked into his classroom he instantly locked eyes with his best friend Nam. Despite only being in Viangpa Mork for only 3 months him and Nam seemed to connect instantly, she practically took Sorawit under her wing because he was too gullible for his own good. During his first week of school some boys in their class convinced him that the girls toilet was actually the boys toilet, ever since then she's felt very protective over him. However, this was practically the same for Sorawit after all Nam was pretty, popular and funny a complete package so he felt like if was his job to protect from all the shameless creeps that through themselves at her.
Sorawit pulled out his seat next to Nam and smiled,
"Have you done the maths homework" he cheekily asked putting on his sweetest voice. He plan to do it this morning but all the customers decided to pack in all at once so in the end he didn't have any time to finish it.
"No, I though you would do it! that's why I didn't bother" Nam said pulling a pout while she flopped onto the desk in front of her.
"Ahh, why don't you ask one of the multiple guys who have a crush on you" Sorawit responded, despite how calm they both seemed the end result of not handing in homework was quite harsh. They'd get one or two whole weeks of detention. As they went to a very high ranked and respected school it was only natural that standards were set to such a high level, but regardless they couldn't help but think it was stupid.
"No way, they always end up expecting soo much more in return, i can't handle the entitlement." Nam said dryly her voice dripping with disgust.
Sorawit knew exactly what she meant, whenever she'd show the smallest bit of kindest or even ask for a favour they always seemed to think that they deserved something in return. And that something was her body. In alot of situations although Sorawit couldn't fight he'd end up stepping in and trying to protect her.
"Umm, I guess we'll just have to settle for one week of detention then." Sorawit laughed after all his friend's safety was his top priority.
Just as both Nam and Sorawit were prepared to accept their fate one of the girls in their class came in yelling,
"Miss Jane isn't in."
It was this one line that seemed to save their lives, miss Jane was their maths and foreign language teacher as well as a tutor at the school. She was only strict because wanted the best for them but sometimes she could really be too ruthless.
As they no longer had a teacher for two of their lesson both Nam and Sorawit messed about, joking and talking the entire time.
For Sorawit the rest of the day went by without a hitch.
~
By the end of school Sorawit felt like death, maybe waking up at 3 am wasn't going to work for him. As he almost feel asleep against his bike Nam flicked his head.
"Are you gonna give me a ride home today or not" Nam said impatiently as she hopped onto the back of his bike (Sorawit is too much of a soft boy to be riding round on a motorbike, so he has a bicycle a yellow one at that).
Before Sorawit could respond the most obnoxious sounding voice echoed out.
"Nam!"
Standing at the gate was a couple of boys probably a year older than them. They were all in Sorawit's eyes dressed like gangsters, their pants were unnecessarily low and they all opted for darker colours (yes this is what gangsters look like in Sorawit's mind, maybe mine too). The one that called out to Nam was tall but not that handsome the only thing that stood out about him was the polished black motorcycle next to him.
Sorawit looked at Nam puzzled.
"It's a long story, just ignore them." Nam said urging Sorawit to hurry up.
Sorawit despite being known for not being very quick witted caught on quite fast, this must be one of Nam's countless admirers.
He pulled Nam along on his adorable yellow bike and although others may not not agree with him, Nam in fact said it was too girly. Regardless Sorawit didn't see anything wrong with it. It was just the right amount of cute, the yellow made it stand out and the small daisies dotted about the bike made it even more pefect in Sorawit's eyes.
As they approached the gates they were quickly blocked, just as Sorawit had expected. However, Sorawit knew for a fact they wouldn't try anything as long as they were on school property, but unfortunately he couldn't say the same for when they had left.
"Nam let's hang out today, on me" he said eying her up and down.
"Pong, I remember telling you I was busy when you asked me yesterday." She replied obviously not interested in hanging out with him at all.
"What, busy hanging out with this loser instead." The guy now known as Pong spoke sizing up Sorawit. Eventhough he was tall Sorawit was indeed 100% bone.
"Pong." Nam warned, it was quite clear that she had enough, half because she knew that this would end alot worse for Sorawit than for her. And the other half was tired of guys constantly thinking she was interested in them.
"Nam, what does he have that I dont." Pong paused briefly looking at Sorawit before bring his eyes back to Nam.
"Now don't be stupid."
It was that line that made Sorawit snap.
"Her not wanting to hang out with you isn't being stupid." He said standing tall trying to make himself appear as tough as possible.
"What?" Pong replied before laughing along with the rest of his friends, they all looked completely amused.
Nam quickly sensed things were going to take a turn for the worst if things continued going the way that they were.
"Pong I'm seriously busy today I have a bunch of work to catch up on, I have alot more time on the weekend let's hang out then" she spoke alot softer.
"Huh, fine." Pond said a lot calmer now maybe because Nam was being a lot more docile or because a teacher was approaching.
~
The whole situation was over rather quickly after that, Pong and his group of friends had left before the teacher arrived and Nam had explained to that said teacher that the whole thing was a misunderstanding.
Sorawit was now sitting in the Pink Lilly attempting to complete his homework as the staff around him began to prepare for the evening shift. He was thinking about the conversation that he had with Nam while he was taking her home.
She said playing along was always the safer options especially with guys like that.
It made him worry to the point he had to convince her not to go and see him on the weekend.
"What's wrong you're pulling a pout." Ploy said squeezing his cheeks with a soft smile.
Ploy was a University student in her 20s that worked at the Pink Lily part time, she was kind and energetic but she was always in other peoples business.
"Umm I'm fine" Sorawit mumbled out before resuming his homework that he had been neglecting for the past half hour.
Before Ploy could prod for more information, Bun had stormed and was clearly in a mood. A way worse one than usual.
"Who does he think he is?" Fuming Bun slammed his hand down on the front counter.
"Why do handsome men think its okay to be so arrogant" Bun continued to rant furiously.
"P'Bun????" Sorawit called utterly confused, who could have made him so angry.
"Bun, what's wrong?" Ploy also questioned after all seeing her boss this angry was rare.
"Huh, what's wrong. You won't believe what happened today!" Bun responded quickly pulling out a seat. Finally seeming to calm down he recited what took place earlier today.
Bun had gone into work for his regular morning shift at 3am hence why he wasn't there to help ease Sorawit into his first shift. But the real trouble began after his long lunch break around 4ish when a young man was rushed in with a bullet wound, Bun was assigned to treat him. So naturally once he heard the man was accompanied by two other men he had quickly gone to question them after all bullet wounds weren't very common in Viangpa Mork. When he had confronted them he was ridiculed and mocked (more so softly teased, but okay Bun. I'll have to make a special chapter about their first meeting after all this is a That x Sorawit centered story) by a tall well dressed handsome man which only pissed him off more. He'd come to know that the arrogantly handsome man was Tan.
In his 3 months in Viangpa Mork he had only heard from other residents that Tan was one of the many sons of a very affluent family that owned multiple business in the city, and he had been doing a lot of work out here recently.
But the icing on the cake for Bun was that everyone loved him, not the police nor a single soul had come to question them or see what was going on. The whole situation was perfectly swept under the rug.
Bun had finished his story with a huff, just retelling it had seemed to annoy him.
"Wow, i mean it is expected after all rumour is that their family does dabble in..." Ploy trailed off unsure if she should finish her sentence. Tan and his family were doing way more for Viangpa Mork than the governor, in the past couple years their investments had gotten them things they never thought they'd see. Like new school buildings and more focus placed on education. They had even gotten Ploy into university through their Helping the Youth fund before that she never thought she would even have the opportunity to go.
"In what?" Sorawit asked, he hadn't been able to catch onto what she was implying like Bun had.
"Never you mind, my shift starts now so I'll see you later" Ploy wore a light smile before returning to work.
Bun had assumed it would have been something like that but he really thought Viangpa Mork was a quite and unproblematic town.
"Ah, Sorawit how was your shift this morning" Bun asked realising that he had been to caught up in himself to ask.
"It was fine but," it was at this moment that Sorawit had remembered his encounter with That.
"But what?" Bun said urging him to continue.
So, for the remainder of the evening shift until the start of the late evening shift Sorawit proceed to tell Bun about the oh so mysterious That. Although he sub consciously left out his heart pains and stomach twists that he felt around the boy, the rest of the story was relayed exactly as it happened.
After he had finished Bun had agreed the boy was strange and that in future he should try to keep his distance.
~
Sorawit had quickly retired for the night after he had finished talking to Bun feeling completely exhausted.
As he laid in bed,
When he was just about to fall asleep for a split second the very mysterious That flashed across his mind.
Regardless of what Bun had said earlier a part of him couldn't help but hope that just maybe he would see him again.
~
At last I have done, I hope you like this chapter. Cause i really do.
Oof my hate for men really showed at Nam's part, but do not worry I shall not allow for creepy old men or men at that to get their hands on her.
Any way onto the next chapter! That visiting his favourite coffee boy once again.
