“she’s going to write a breakup song about you” is basic. “she’s going to not only sing the love songs she wrote about you to someone else but also change a lyric to specifically make it about her new partner” is smart. it’s possible. it’s terrifying.
I know this is pointing out the obvious but goodness gracious the contrast between Taylor at the ihearts last year (exhausted/devastated/sore/not wanting to be perceived at all) vs. this year (glowing/smiling/tan etc) is just a brilliant reminder that the worst parts of our lives will eventually pass and we will know joy again even if only softly at first. Our broken hearts will mend and we will meet new people that make us feel alive and show us what we wanted was never too much. there will be new memories and chapters and you won’t be just sad now until the end of time. turns out the pain really wouldn’t be forevermore
Imagine telling yourself at the start of this year that Taylor would have two different boyfriends come see her perform on the eras tour and neither of them would be Joe
no but like??? taylor was pointing at travis so much during the show. he was smiling, dancing, singing and cheering for her. scott literally recorded him singing “olé olé olé taylor” with the crowd. she sang end game as a surprise song with the biggest smile on her face. she literally changed that karma lyric and let out a little laugh right after, AND once the show was over he was waiting for her near backstage willing to let her decide what to do and she ran to him and they kissed and hugged knowing that most of the people in that stadium were watching them. i’m so happy that they express their love for each other so freely, you don’t understand.
I just want to make sure everyone understands the implications of 'So High School' being the clearest song on the album like the sudden glow a room gets when a warm ray of sunlight comes through the window - could it be a hint at what comes next??? And yes it's the first one for Travis but more than that, it's also Taylor's FIRST ever love song without anxiety underneath. like do we all understand what that means? are we all picking up what she's putting down? like this is little miss 'I'm a hopeless romantic but I also have a fatalistic streak a mile wide' we're talking about... the tortured poets department may have been as dark as death itself and fragile glass but where she is now? that's solid as fuck and full of life.
