ok i think i have a better sense of the timeline now based on info i've gathered across various interviews
2007: Qian is (probably) around 13-14 when he "adopts" Yuan, who should be the same age as Lili (7). i don't think Yuan's age is ever clear since he didn't have any identification until the mob boss got him one
2/9/2013: episode 1, Qian is around 19-20, Yuan and Lili are 13, based on their lunar new year convo where we find out people at Qian's age are already in second year of college and Yuan and Lili were in the same class until Yuan skipped straight to high school. Lili's actress plays through ages 13 through 23 and this is the first year we see her
mid-2016: Qian graduates college in 3 years
12/21/2017: Yuan turns 18
so i'm guessing episode 5 is happening sometime in 2018, before Taiwan legalized same sex marriage in 2019
eh this is what i have so far, not entirely sure how much time i need to bake in for mandatory military service

My 10 Favorite Plays I Read in 2022
Stage Kiss by Sarah Ruhl (2011)
“Art imitates Life. Life imitates Art. When two actors with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a forgotten 1930s melodrama, they quickly lose touch with reality as the story onstage follows them offstage.” (Concord Theatricals)
Trifles by Susan Glaspell (1916)
“In a small Iowa farmhouse, surly and reclusive farmer John Wright was found murdered. His apathetic wife Minnie is the prime and only suspect, and sitting in jail for the crime. Now, a small group of people enter the home, looking for the clues that would explain why a woman would suddenly strangle her husband in the night. While County Attorney Henderson, Sheriff Peters, and neighbor Mr. Hale roam the house looking for clues, the women (Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale) examine the “trifles” of a country kitchen, such as frozen jars of preserves and a poorly sewn quilt. But as the women look closer at Minnie’s world, they make a bone-chilling discovery. Inspired by a true story, Susan Glaspell’s Trifles is a seminal play of early 20th-century American theatre and helped define American realism as we know it.” (StageAgent)
Peerless by Jiehae Park (2017)
“Asian-American twins M and L have given up everything to get into The College. So when D, a one-sixteenth Native American classmate, gets “their” spot instead, they figure they’ve got only one option: kill him. A darkly comedic take on Shakespeare’s Macbeth about the very ambitious and the cut-throat world of high school during college admissions.” (Concord Theatricals)
Blue Stockings by Jessica Swale (2013)
“1896. Girton College, Cambridge, the first college in Britain to admit women. ...In Jessica Swale's debut play, Blue Stockings, Tess Moffat and her fellow first years are determined to win the right to graduate. But little do they anticipate the hurdles in their way: the distractions of love, the cruelty of the class divide or the strength of the opposition, who will do anything to stop them. The play follows them over one tumultuous academic year, in their fight to change the future of education.” (Nick Hern Books)
Harvest by Manjula Padmanabhan (1998)
“A dark satire, Harvest tells the story of an impoverished family and the Faustian contract they enter into with a shadowy international corporation: fabulous wealth in exchange for the organs of one of its members. As Ginni, the glamorous American woman who hopes to receive the organs, invades their one-room home via an interactive video device, the play lays bare the transactional nature of human relationships–even the most intimate ones.” (Hachette India)
Nell Gwynn by Jessica Swale (2016)
“London, 1660. King Charles II has exploded onto the scene with a love of all things loud, extravagant and sexy. And at Drury Lane, a young Nell Gwynn is causing stirrings amongst the theatregoers. Nell Gwynn charts the rise of an unlikely heroine, from her roots in Coal Yard Alley to her success as Britain's most celebrated actress, and her hard-won place in the heart of the King. But at a time when women are second-class citizens, can her charm and spirit protect her from the dangers of the Court?” (Nick Hern Books)
How I Learned to Drive by Paula Vogel (1997)
“A wildly funny, surprising and devastating tale of survival as seen through the lens of a troubling relationship between a young girl and an older man. HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE is the story of a woman who learns the rules of the road and life from behind the wheel.” (Concord Theatricals)
Tipping the Velvet by Laura Wade (2015), adapted from the novel by Sarah Waters
“It's 1887 and Nancy Astley sits in the audience at her local music hall: she doesn't know it yet, but the next act on the bill will change her life. Tonight is the night she'll fall in love… with the thrill of the stage and with Kitty Butler, a girl who wears trousers. Giddy with desire and hungry for experience, Nancy follows Kitty to London where unimaginable adventures await.” (Bloomsbury)
King Charles III by Mike Bartlett (2014)
Written in the style and structure of a Shakespeare play, King Charles III is a future history play which follows Charles’ ascent to the throne.
“Prince Charles has waited his entire life to ascend to the British throne. But after the Queen’s death, he immediately finds himself wrestling his conscience over a bill to sign into law. With the future of the monarchy under threat, protests on the streets, and his family in disarray, Charles must grapple with his own identity and purpose, to decide whether, in the twenty-first century, the British crown still has any real power.” (PBS)
In the Other Room, Or the Vibrator Play by Sarah Ruhl (2009)
“Set in the 1880s at the dawn of the age of electricity and based on the bizarre historical fact that doctors used vibrators to treat 'hysterical' women (and some men), the play centers on a doctor and his wife and how his new therapy affects their entire household.” (Concord Theatricals)

About Me
My name is Jenilee Borek, and I grew up in a suburb west of Chicago. After graduating high school a semester early, I left the Midwest and moved to Los Angeles by myself to pursue a professional dance career. Some of the highlights of my dance career are choreographing and dancing for actress Taryn Manning’s band, Boomkat, and traveling to Thailand while performing with a belly-dancing company.
After retiring from my professional dance career I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted my next career to be, but I knew it had to be something in a creative field. I watched a lot of sports at the time and was asked by a friend to be a guest on his fantasy football podcast. That’s when I found my next passion. I ended up co-creating and co-hosting the video version of our show which ran for three seasons. I decided I wanted to get a degree in broadcast journalism so I could pursue a sports broadcast career with the correct knowledge I needed to succeed in the field.
I started college in 2017 at Glendale Community College. I earned my associate’s degree in journalism in 2021, and I was able to transfer early to California State University, Northridge in 2020 to start classes toward my bachelor’s degree. I’m a broadcast journalism major and a communications minor, and I am set to graduate in spring 2023.
In the next five years, I hope to land a job somewhere in the sports broadcasting field as on-air talent. I will most likely start my career as a news reporter, but I hope I can transition to covering sports quickly.

Kelly has credited Sharon Horgan for making him become a writer. Shcherban's situation came as a result of him having to flee (with other members of the theatre company) from Belarus to London as a means to escape political censorship and persecution in the aftermath of the 2010 Belarusian presidential election, where oppositional candidates had been arrested. Kelly offered his home to Shcherban as a place to stay when Shcherban was facing homelessness.

Ann Lowe The great-granddaughter of a slave and a plantation owner, Ann Lowe was born in Clayton, Alabama in 1898. Both her mother and her grandmother were seamstresses and Lowe learned dress-making from them. Her mother and grandmother were popular with society women in Alabama and together they dressed many notable woman in the community. Lowe’s mother died when she was 16 and she subsequently took over several of her clients. Her mother had been working on several gowns for the Governor of Alabama’s wife and in completing her order - she cemented her own status as a designer. Lowe married Lee Cohen in 1912. She left him in 2017 and took their son, Arthur Lee, with her when Cohen wanted Lowe to give up work as a seamstress. Lowe moved to Florida to design a high-profile wedding dress - and ended up being a personal designer to a socialite for several years. Lowe moved to New York for a time to take dress-making courses. The New York school was still segregated and Lowe took all of her classes alone. After graduating in 1919, she opened her first salon in Tampa, Florida - and quickly became a society favourite. Lowe moved permanently to New York City in 1928 after saving $20,000. She worked for a number of designers; ‘Henri Bendel’, ‘Chez Sonia’ and 'Saks Fifth Avenue’ although her name did not appear on any of those garments. Lowe designed the gown that actress Olivia de Havilland wore to accept an ‘Academy Award’ for ‘Best Actress’ in 1946 - but her name wasn’t on that gown, either. In 1950, Lowe and her son opened ‘Ann Lowe’s Gowns’ on Lexington Avenue where she was finally able to sell all of her designs under her own name. https://www.instagram.com/p/CdXpgP0MF-J/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

BARBARA EDEN
August 23, 1931
Barbara Eden was born Barbara Jean Morehead in Phoenix Arizona in 1931, although for years her birth year was thought to be 1934. It was fairly common for young actresses to lie about their age in Hollywood. After her parents divorced, her mother married a telephone lineman, the same profession as Lucille Ball’s father. Eden's first public performance was singing in the church choir. As a teenager, she sang in local bands in night clubs. At age 16, she studied singing and acting. She graduated from High School in San Francisco in the Spring Class of 1949. As Barbara Huffman, she was elected Miss San Francisco in 1951 and she also entered the Miss California pageant. Her name was changed to Eden by her first agent.
“If gentlemen prefer blondes then I'm a blonde that prefers gentlemen.” ~ Barbara Eden
Eden began her television career as a semi-regular on “The Johnny Carson Show” (not to be confused with “The Tonight Show”) in 1955.
Contrary to popular belief, "I Love Lucy” was not Eden’s first small screen appearance. She had been seen in a November 1956 episode of “West Point.”
She had also made the RKO film Back from Eternity, a remake of a Lucille Ball film called Five Came Back, which would not be released until later in 1957. It was directed by John Farrow (Mia’s father) and co-starred Keith Andes, who would play Lucy Carmichael’s boyfriend on “The Lucy Show” and co-star with Ball in Wildcat on Broadway in 1960. Eden played a college reporter and was uncredited. Coincidentally, the film also featured Tristram Coffin, who played Diana Jordan’s cousin Harry Munson in “Country Club Dance.”
In “Country Club Dance” (ILL S6;E25), the male population of Westport is all agog when sexy Diana Jordan (Barbara Eden) visits. Lucy, Ethel and Betty Ramsey decide that getting glamorous is the best revenge. The now-classic episode was filmed on March 21, 1957 and first aired on April 22, 1957.
Needless to say, that night at the Westport Country Club shapely young Diana’s ‘dance card’ is full! Pat Boone (not in attendance, but mentioned) was Diana’s favorite singer!
William Asher, the director of this episode, would later direct Barbara Eden in the short-lived sitcom "Harper Valley PTA” (1981-82) and "I Dream of Jeannie… Fifteen Years Later,” a reunion special aired in 1985.
After filming was completed, Desilu gave some of its guest stars small gifts. This 10K gold-filled Zippo lighter was a present for Eden.
That same year, Eden appeared in an episode of the Desilu sitcom “December Bride” starring Harry Morgan.
In early 1962, Eden was on the Desilu backlot to play “The Manicurist” on “The Andy Griffith Show.” At the same time, “The Lucy Show” was filming its first season.
The next time Lucy and Eden appeared on screen together was at the 1968 Primetime Emmy Awards. Ball was nominated (and won) for Best Actress in a Comedy for “The Lucy Show”. “Jeannie” and Eden were then in their third season, but failed to break the top 30 and were not nominated, although Eden, as a recognizable TV figure, was present at the awards. Throughout its long run, the popular sitcom only garnered one Emmy nomination, for Sidney Sheldon’s writing. Barbara and Ball were also presenters (not together) at the 1986 Prime Time Emmy Awards.
In 1982, Lucy and Eden were among the many women (and one man in drag) assembled for “Bob Hope’s Women I Love: Beautiful and Funny.” Coincidentally, this special also featured Mary Martin, who was Larry Hagman’s (Major Nelson on “I Dream of Jeannie”) real-life mother. Eden was a favorite of Hope’s, appearing on a dozen Bob Hope specials.
Eden was present (though she did not speak or get credited) at 1984′s “All-Star Party for Lucille Ball.” Two years later they returned for “All-Star Party for Clint Eastwood.” As a former honoree, Lucy hosted, but Eden was still only an attendee.
In 1987, Lucy and Barbara joined a myriad of luminaries for “Happy 100th Birthday Hollywood” although they performed in different segments. A year later, Lucy, in one of her final TV appearances, was with Eden in “The Princess Grace Foundation’s Special Gala Tribute to Cary Grant.” Grant never acted opposite either star.
OUT OF THE BOTTLE!
In 1965, producer Sidney Sheldon signed Eden to star in his upcoming fantasy sitcom “I Dream of Jeannie” that would air on NBC. It was aimed at wooing audiences away from ABC’s fantasy sitcom “Bewitched.” Eden played Jeannie, a beautiful genie from ancient Persia set free from her bottle by astronaut and Air Force Captain (later Major) Anthony "Tony" Nelson, played by Larry Hagman.
Also in the “Jeannie” cast of regulars was Hayden Rorke (as psychiatrist Dr. Alfred Bellows), who first appeared with Lucille Ball on stage in Dream Girl (1947).
Like Eden, Rorke also did a one-off appearance on “I Love Lucy” as new neighbor Mr. O’Brien who Lucy thinks is a spy, but turns out to be just an actor.
He would later be seen on “Here’s Lucy” as a judge deciding if Lucy Carter has held an illegal raffle or not.
Lurene Tuttle, who played the President of The Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League in “The Club Election” (ILL S2;E19) in 1953, played Jeannie’s mother in a 1965 episode.
Phil Ober, Vivian Vance’s ex-husband and the actor who played Dore Schary in “Don Juan is Shelved” (ILL S4;E21) in 1955, played General Stone in two season one episodes of “Jeannie.”
Vinton Hayworth, who played General Schaeffer on “Jeannie” did two films with Lucille Ball: That Girl From Paris (1936) and That’s Right - You’re Wrong (1939).
Like Vance, Eden also was married to one of her co-stars and later divorced him. In 1958, Eden married Michael Ansara, who played many roles on “Jeannie” including the Blue Djinn (above).
On “Jeannie,” Major Nelson was an astronaut. On “The Lucy Show” Lucy Carmichael was an astronaut (for a day) in a season one episode. Like “Jeannie” this episode was written to capitalize on America’s space race.
In 1971, “Here’s Lucy” also did an astronaut-themed episode. By that time, American astronauts had landed on the moon! Coincidentally, actor Robert Hogan (center in both photos) also played an astronaut on “Jeannie” in 1970.
“Jeannie” was produced by Sheldon Leonard, who played himself on a 1967 episode of “The Lucy Show”.
Like “The Lucy Show”, “Jeannie” premiered in black and white before switching to color for the remainder of its run.
Other actors who appeared on both “Jeannie” and “Lucy”: George DeNormand, Benny Rubin, Jackie Coogan, J. Pat O’Malley, Reta Shaw, Richard Reeves, Romo Vincent, Jonathan Hole, Kathleen Freeman, Bill Quinn, Herbie Faye, Milton Berle, Jack Carter, Jamie Farr, John McGiver, Richard Deacon, Don Ho, Alan Hewitt, Don Rickles, Alan Oppenheimer, Jack Collins, Parley Baer, Herb Vigran, Ruth McDevitt, Sandra Gould, Foster Brooks, James Hong, William Fawcett, Stafford Repp, and Sid Melton.
Eden played this role for five years and 139 episodes. In eight episodes, Eden donned a brunette wig to portray Jeannie's evil sister (also named Jeannie) who lusts after Tony Nelson, and in two episodes played Jeannie's hapless mother.
AFTER THE BALL & THE BOTTLE....
Barbara Eden later said in interviews that Lucy was a generous performer and caring person, contrasting to another (unnamed) female star she had worked with. Lucille Ball thought that Eden’s costume was not attractive enough, so Lucy and Irma Kusely (Lucy’s hairstylist) spent rehearsal time ‘bedazzling’ the dress. Ball offered to put Eden under contract at her Desilu Workshop, but Eden found out later that day that 20th Century Fox had picked up her option, so Eden graciously declined Lucy’s offer.
"It was the third job I had in Los Angeles and she was so good to me. I can’t tell you how sweet she was. I had a dress on that she didn’t think was outstanding enough. She asked me to take it off and the next thing I knew, she was sitting there putting sparkling things all over it, just to make it look better.” ~ Barbara Eden, October 2017
In 2005, Barbara Eden traveled to Jamestown to participate in Lucy-Desi Days.
Eden was married three times and had one child who died in 2001 at the age of 35.
“I've never stopped working. If you're active, you can appreciate what you did in the past, you don't feel like it's gone.” ~ Barbara Eden
AS OF TODAY!
AUGUST 23, 2020 - As of this writing, Barbara Eden is one of the oldest known surviving ADULT cast members of “I Love Lucy.” She is not, however, the oldest. Mary Ellen Kaye (Mrs. Taylor in “Lucy Hates To Leave”) is a year older than Eden, and Cher’s mother Georgia Holt (Model in “Lucy Gets A Paris Gown”) is 94.
There is no birth or death information for: Maggie Magennis (Starlet in “Don Juan and the Starlets”), Helen Silvers (Dancer Rosemary in “Lucy is Jealous of Girl Singer"), Barbara Logan (Stewardess in “The Ricardos Visit Cuba"), Milldred Law (Stewardess in “Return Home from Europe”), and Jody Drew (Miss Ballantine, Mr. Reilly’s Secretary in "Don Juan is Shelved").

HEADCANONS
Kiara Charlotte Rose was born on the 6th of May to Winston & Ava Rose in London, England. She was their unanswered prayer and a bundle of joy that they had been hoping for ever since they got married. Some say that Kiara had her parents wrapped around her finger, but some say that she definitely marched to her own drum. Often, Ava would find her youngest daughter being reckless whenever she climbed a tree or rode her brother’s motocross bike whenever he left it out. Once Kiara was ten, the Rose family packed up and moved to Lima, Ohio. Where the rest of their family was at.
Kiara’s recklessness continued when she reached middle school. Some kids started to tease her because of not only of her mother having a different cultural background than her father, but also because of her British accent and a bit of a lisp she used to have. The kids would pick on her for days upon days until one day her parents decided to put her into a speech therapy class, to help improve her lisp. She struggled at first, but then her words started to get clearer and clearer with each passing day. She also spent days in detention after she “accidentally” punched a kid right square in the face one day at lunch.
As Kiara grew up, she wanted to explore the environment she was living in and wanted to somehow, express herself. So she started to draw random objects, people and then it turned into her writing fictional stories. Shortly after that, she tried out for a school play in high school, didn’t get any roles in any of the plays but that didn’t stop her from continuing to try.
Though, as she started to find herself, so did her mother. You see, Ava Rose was a best selling children’s author before she settled down and started a family with the love of her life. She was mainly popular in Uganda, Europe & Asia, but she was determined to bring her Indian roots to Lima, Ohio. Ava wrote another book series, this time, a young adult series that was loosely based on her daughter but she would never confirm it. After she wrote the first book, she decided to go back to school and this time, for the Culinary Arts. Kiara was so proud of her mother when she found out about her mum going back to school and getting another degree. She would often do her homework with her mum.
Over time, Kiara started to noticed that her father would tend to stay late at work and would come home, drunk and lipstick stains on his collars every time he came home from work. It got so bad, that she started to hear her parents fighting every night and she would escape to her neighbors house. By the time she graduated from high school, she got into UCLA and had plans to not come back to Lima. Fast forward four year and a half, she already starred in Lemonade Mouth, Terra Nova, and many other roles until in 2017 where she played Kimberly Hart in Power Rangers. While she was making a name for herself in Hollywood, her and her ex-boyfriend got engaged and together adopted a little girl named Jasmine, who was struggling to find a family to love her.
After a few years of auditioning and trying to find jobs just in case acting doesn’t pan out, she landed the role of Jasmine in the live-action of Aladdin and made sure that she embodied and embraced the empowerment of feminism that she had to offer as Jasmine. She brushed on her singing by hiring someone to help her out with it and made sure she nailed every note every time she rehearsed her solo as Jasmine in the film. She wanted to show Hollywood not to count her yet out of the game.
Kiara’s fiancé was great at supporting her in the beginning, going with her to every interview and movie locations and home schooling Jasmine whenever they were on the road. Though, things changed when Kiara started to debate on finally settling down and take a break from Hollywood. Her fiancé started to criticize her every move and how she would deliver a line. He would often reject any FaceTime calls that she would get whenever she was in the makeup chair and would delete any email that she would get from her mother and once deleted her fitting for her dress appointment.
It wasn’t until the night before, when Kiara really realized she wasn’t in love with him anymore and the whole marriage would be a joke. She couldn’t marry someone she doesn’t truly love and so she packed all of her clothes from the hotels dresser and told everyone at the rehearsal dinner that there wouldn’t be a wedding anymore. So, she packed her and Jasmine’s bags, with the help from her mother and older sister and said goodbye to London when she boarded the plane to go to New York and had her mother take the rest of her things back to Lima.
Now, she’s currently catching her breath and taking a leave of absence with her daughter before debating on what to do with the honeymoon that’s currently booked for somewhere tropical. Also dealing with the fact that now, she is officially a single mother.
CONNECTIONS
PARENTS: Winston & Ava Rose: Kiara’s relationship with her parents, is a complicated one at that. Part of her will always love her dad, but ever since he cheated on her mother when she was in high school, he had lost her trust. Kiara is totally a mother’s daughter. She would do anything for her mother, including moving the mountains for her.
SIBLINGS/OTHER IMPORTANT FAMILY: Cyrus & Carmen Rose, Kiara’s older siblings. Kiara never got to know her sister, Carmen, since she moved out of the house when Kiara was one and never saw her again at her rehearsal. Kiara and Cyrus, on the other hand, were different. Kiara loved following her brother around and would often watch him put something together with his two hands. She tried to keep in contact with him.
EX- Fiancé: Henry and Kiara were college sweethearts and they were together for a long period of time and they even started the adopting process when they were both Sophomores in college. Now that Kiara has realized that she no longer loved him, she hoped that he would get better for him.
BEST FRIEND, LISSA HAWTHRONE: Kiara had met Lissa through the online gaming community. At first she was afraid to reach out and contact the other woman, but she built up the courage to send that message. Ever since then, every time Kiara’s in New York, she makes sure to swing by and sees Lissa.
BEST FRIEND, SAM EVANS: Kiara and Sam goes back to the good ol days at McKinley. In fact, Kiara and Sam used to be neighbors and Kiara would go over to Sam’s house whenever her parents would fight or even when her dad would be home while her mom was at work. She always joked that maybe Mrs. Evans should adopt her, because of how much she spent at the Evans household. However, everything had changed the minute Sam moved away to Tennessee. Kiara remembers the heartache and how much it destroyed her, but she knew that it was for the best. However, the minute he walked back through the doors of McKinley, everything felt right again.
IRIS BERRY-ROSE & MARLEY ROSE (COUSINS): Kiara always loved having her cousins around her, even though there was an age gap between her and Iris, that didn’t stop Kiara from wanting to bond with her older cousin. The moment that Marley started attending McKinley, she was overjoyed and was excited to see her aunt and cousin every day at school. Now, Kiara hasn’t seen her cousins in a hot minute due to being gone for most of the year and living in LA, but she’s willing to change that.
JASMINE ROSE (DAUGHTER): Kiara and Henry were set on starting a family while they were in college, that they didn’t waste any time on looking into adoption and figuring out how to do so. About a year and a few months later, they were finally able to adopt a little girl named Jasmine. Which, Kiara knew it was meant to be, since Jasmine was her favorite Disney Princess growing up. Now that she is no longer with Henry, she’s looking into getting full custody of Jasmine.

editing original post here because i forgot a very important year (2011). edits in bold:
ok i think i have a better sense of the timeline now based on info i've gathered across various interviews
2007: Qian is (probably) around 13-14 when he "adopts" Yuan, who should be the same age as Lili (7). i don't think Yuan's age is ever clear since he didn't have any identification until the mob boss got him one
2011: episode 1, Qian is 17-18, we see adult Qian and little Yuan together in the hospital. this is when Qian gets that scar on his eyebrow (bandage on eyebrow). Yuan is nabbed later this year by mob boss sidekick Ah Hu (Tiger). the year Qian gets punctured lung while fighting to get out of the mob
2/9/2013: episode 1, Qian is around 19-20, Yuan and Lili are 13, based on their lunar new year convo where we find out people at Qian's age are already in second year of college and Yuan and Lili were in the same class until Yuan skipped straight to high school. Lili's actress plays through ages 13 through 23 and this is the first year we see her (edit: i'm assuming Lili just turned 13 maybe in January and Yuan turned 13 a month before)
mid-2016: Qian graduates college in 3 years
12/21/2017: Yuan turns 18
so i'm guessing episode 5 is happening sometime in 2018, before Taiwan legalized same sex marriage in 2019
eh this is what i have so far, not entirely sure how much time i need to bake in for mandatory military service

hi everyone !! jo here, with my ice queen namjoo, aka lia, aka the leader, main rapper, lead dancer and vocal of fuse !! please check out her profile and plots, and if anything catches your eye don’t hesitate to reach out to me in regards to plotting. you can slide into my dms, or you can add me on dis-cord at yoo jeongyeon's maid#4903 !!
background.
born and raised in seoul, south korea. her father is a director and producer while her mother is an actress, but she doesn’t really use them in order to get ahead in life. she wants to be an actress, but she wants to do it through hard work, not due to her parents’ names.
she was apart of a commercial when she was five years old, and what little she remembers from the experience is that she loved being on camera, which is what sparked her love of acting. unfortunately her acting career to grow from there.
at the age of fourteen, she moved to the states with one of her aunts in order to attend school. it was the same school her parents went to when they were younger, and it was the same school her younger siblings would be enrolled in when they entered high school. namjoo stayed there for four years, graduating in the top five percent of her class, before moving back to seoul so she could pick up where her five year old self left off.
through her parents she made connections with other people in the industry, which was how she landed an audition at gold star media. she originally wanted to be an actress, but when she was told that being an idol could help pave her way towards being an actress, she decided to go with it. her parents weren’t crazy about the idea because they look down on idols and think that the career path holds no longevity. namjoo agrees in a sense, but she went through with it anyway
her selling points to gold star media were her visuals, her acting ability, and the fact that she could just barely carry a tune in a rusty bucket. she became a trainee at the age of 19 and worked her ass off to build up her skills. she knew, and still knows, that she’s not the best at any of her positions, but she’d be damned if people tell her she didn’t work hard. even though she’s the main rapper of her group, she doesn’t consider herself a rapper, just someone who raps (shoutout to my man’s jackson for the quote lol)
she liked being an idol at first, it was fun performing and all that jazz, but she didn’t and still doesn’t love it as much as her members who want to be idols or her idol peers. she tries not to make it obvious, but if you pay close attention you can tell that she’s not as passionate as others.
when they hit it big with red flavor, namjoo took that as her go ahead to start advocating for an acting debut for herself. gold star granted her wish by allowing her to take on supporting roles over the last few years. however, that really isn’t enough for her anymore. with fuse’s comebacks becoming less and less frequent, she wants to start building her own brand. however, gold star isn’t exactly being supportive in her endeavors.
she’s growing more and more impatient, and she can’t help but feel resentful towards gold star about the complete disregard of her wants.
acting career.
cha yeojung, supporting role, while you were sleeping, 2017
kim hyena, supporting role, sky castle, 2018-19
jeong saha, supporting role, start-up, 2020
personality.
namjoo can appear as rather cold and distant. her parents raised her to be a class act at all times; proper posture, formal speaking, always polite. she’s very polite, but it can come across as fake because of how she carries herself. it’s not that she thinks that she’s better than everyone else, it’s just that she knows her worth and knows that she deserves the best. if someone isn’t offering her the best, then they’re wasting her time.
in all actuality, namjoo isn’t cold, just distant. she doesn’t consider herself to be a people person and would much rather be in the solitude of her own home than anything. however when she’s in the company of other people, she tries to have fun and not bring the mood down. she’s great when it comes to pretending to have fun, mostly due to the fact that she’s a good actress.
growing up, namjoo’s parents engraved in her mind the importance of her beauty and good looks. to the point where she fears losing her beauty. one of her biggest fears is getting old, something her close friends tell her is ridiculous because she already looks younger than she is, but it’s always something that lingers in the back of her mind. whenever she looks in the mirror, she can hear the whisper of her mother’s voice, telling her that she should put on a little bit extra makeup, or that she should check for any unwanted wrinkles or fine lines.

"Dream big, Work hard, Make it happen"
We watch Korean drama with me and my cousin. The students are low-grade in the 2017 Korean drama school and they have to pass high school in order to go to college. Their teacher is Mr. Sim he is the class 2-1 teacher. Whose main character in the show is Ra Eunho, Ra eunho is a low-grade woman who has huge ambitions about herself that she is trying to study hard so that she can be a webtoon to fulfill her dream. But their teacher, Mr. Sim, helps his students move on to high school graduation.
I related myself to the story where I was a student at San Isidro National High School who wanted to study hard to get a high grade and get a college and fulfill my dream of being an actress to help my parents recover from the struggles of life. while I was watching this Korean drama. All the hardships I experience are a test for me even though it's hard. The trial that came into my life was what gave me the strength to be strong.
I dreamed when I was sleeping that I had fulfilled my dream. I will support my family and others who are much more in need of my help. I still prayed that time would accelerate in order for me to do a job.

╰ ✩ 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚝𝚝𝚢 𝚕𝚒𝚎𝚜 :
the leblancs – an american made , household name . hollywood embedded so deeply in the bloodline , it made the rest world question whether or not a gene for acting existed . the leblanc women always seeming to marry into the business – actors & actresses going hand in hand , marriages supposed to last the test of time . however , for every card of luck fate deals a cursed one – messy divorces ending in vicious headlines , the media practically salivating for the next leblanc failure . every ending prompted with a – & when’s the next wedding ? ( side note : i was inspired by goldie hawn / kate hudson ! )
dawn leblanc’s determination to break the cycle had been admirable , the young actress entering a tumultuous relationship with a young musician , bandleader kurt rhodes . for four magical years the pair defied the world’s expectations , perhaps the leblanc’s would finally achieve perfection – climbing back onto the pedestal after being knocked down time & time again .
the fifth year brought reese elizabeth leblanc into the world , another girl slated to continue on the leblanc family legacy . the night had been stormy , thunder no match for her cries – as if the universe had known the blonde was destined to be a force of nature . her parents & the rest of the world fell in love with her , angelic golden curls & wide , doe eyes ( thanks to the leblanc genes ) masking the terror she became – born with an insatiable curiosity that drove her to explore any & everything .
dawn clung to the hope that reese would mature into perfection , hiring yet another painter to cover up scribbles in a bold , crimson shade of chanel lipstick . forks moved to the top shelf in an effort to stop her from emulating ariel , her favorite disney princess – the gold metal bound to ruin her curls . reese favoring time with her father , enamored by the vibrations raking through her tiny body as chubby , little fingers pressed against black & white keys .
the seventh year , the leblanc curse took its effect , gifting reese a divorce for her second birthday . this one messier than those before , kurt’s affair with a groupie , no less , plastered on every news stand . her grandmother quick to swoop in , reese & her mother moving in to hide away from the flashing lights . the eldest leblanc reminding her daughter that she should have listened all those years ago – musicians weren’t leblanc material . the blame never falling on the leblanc women – self - absorbed to a fault .
within a year of her divorce , dawn re-married , her co-star & american’s golden boy brent jacobs – the supposed new love of her life . as always , the media latched onto the news – eagerly sinking their teeth into the idea of a publicity stunt to rub the tarnish off dawn’s reputation . & when reese turned three , her family grew to four – savannah dawn leblanc entering the world much more peacefully than her older sister , wrapping every person around her finger with just a bat of her baby blues ( eye color seemingly the only difference between the leblanc sisters ) .
╰ ✩ 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚝𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚒𝚍𝚕𝚎 :
as much as she should , reese could never hate her younger sister . the pair forging a bond that could be explained by no one despite their obvious differences . with only a shared mother , it shocked everyone to see just how similar they looked . dawn taking to the idea of pretending as if reese were the daughter of her second husband . her mother had always been too good at acting , a master at eluding reality & morphing it into an acceptable idyl .
savannah was the golden child in everyone’s eyes , reese cast aside as the other leblanc , the problem child . the blonde often found sulking in her room only to sneak out the window the second she got an urge to explore . the supposed , inherited acting bug had never bitten her , reese waving away any offer to star in a film or commercial . any attempt to drag her to an audition resulted in her either running away , or creating such a scene that no one in hollywood would ever want to work with her . a downpour on any project .
savannah took to acting just like her mother . the pair bonding in a way reese could never , frequently flying from their home in the hamptons to auditions in la . reese tagging along only so she could see her father , the only one who ever seemed to get her – dawn claiming reese may have been gifted the leblanc looks , but her moodiness all stemmed from her father .
it drove her insane , staring at her reflection in the mirror every night as if to ask what was wrong with her . why was she so different ? why couldn’t she be agreeable like savannah ? it fed her jaded soul , reese losing her innocence & rose colored glasses far too quickly . her realism tethering her to reality , able to see through the pink , glittery fog of dawn leblanc’s world .
she fought with her mother constantly , savannah always sneaking into her room at night to ask quietly , why won’t you & mom get along ? she’s doin’ her best re . reese never had the answer , always a heavy sigh as she brushed her sisters questions off . unable to explain that , while savannah was content with being her mother’s doll , she couldn’t bring herself to – not when she’d seen the world beyond the facade her mother & grandmother painted .
& like clockwork , dawn drove her second husband away – reese 16 & savannah 13 . the promise to co-parent kept , their split amicable despite the constant fights that had ended in broken dishes & reese quietly sneaking out – losing herself in a party , in noise to forget that silence could be just as loud , but more deafening .
╰ ✩ 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚝𝚑 :
reese couldn’t escape the hamptons or her mother fast enough , ucla her ticket away . the only dark cloud , leaving behind her sister . the two promised to text every day , savannah always welcome to stay with reese if their mother ever got to be too much – savannah much more adept at handling her mood swings , appeasing her mother with a sugar sweet smile & a promise to major in acting after graduation .
reese , however , had no idea what direction she wanted to go – communications her fall back in an effort to just choose something that didn’t require much effort . ucla her dream school for its social climate more than its educational one . & her freshman year marked the start of her youtube channel – reeses , which currently has a whopping 3.4 million subscribers . true to her surname , the blonde did find love in front of the camera , but also behind it as she vlogged her escapades much to the world’s enjoyment & her mother’s disappointment .
savannah & reese texted every night , updating each other & signing each text off with a forever & always . occasionally , reese would forget – too drunk or high to craft a text , always apologizing the next morning when she woke up to savannah’s worried texts . despite being the one that should look out for her sister , savannah always seemed to be looking out for her .
one visit sophomore year , savannah begged reese to take her out . her sister living a more sheltered life , one bound by strict bedtimes & after school acting classes or rehearsals . unable to say no , despite knowing she should , reese brought savannah along – letting her sister borrow her clothes , the two starting early with a bottle of grey goose as they got ready .
reese always had a tendency to loose herself in a party , letting the night drag her wherever it wanted . losing sight of savannah had been her first mistake . telling savannah to have a good time , try something new had been her second mistake . not being there had been her third & final mistake , savannah’s introduction to a line of cocaine her finale . the screams of someone call 911 still keep reese up at night – remembering vividly what it felt like to see her sister’s body limp on someone’s bed . the od unexpected , the line bad – mixed with something too strong for someone so pure to handle . & reese was left to blame herself . she killed her sister .
the world mourned the loss of savannah leblanc . reese’s relationship with her mother more estranged , casting the blame on her just as she had already . she took a 6 month hiatus from vlogging , reese unable to do anything but drink herself into a coma like sleep . it was far easier to numb herself , bags under her eyes hidden by sunglasses .
her re-entry online had shocked everyone . her vlog’s no longer carrying the light air despite how badly she tried to force it . reese no longer the same , more self deprecating than before & much more reckless . her love of vlogging no longer stemmed from pure enjoyment , but a need to be seen , to no longer feel alone . convinced that she was a hurricane , destroying everyone she could ever get close to . yet unable to bring herself to care for her safety because it should’ve been her that night , not savannah .
reese has a blatant disregard for herself , willing to push the boundaries so far for the sake of a thrill , to feel something beyond the suffocating culpability that feels like a choke hold around her neck . & if she ends up not coming back from it , who cares right ?
she still pays her sister’s phone bill , never missing a beat – texting her updates , rambles , apologies . the texts signed with their infamous forever & always .
so ! i’m currently working on a lil connection page with ideas , but for now please accept this mess 💛
