Diabolik Lovers CHAOS LINEAGE ー Laito [09]

ー The scene starts in the entrance hall of the Violet Manor

Yui: The inside of the manor’s in a much worse state than I expected...

Laito: Ahーah, the door’s been broken. I guess we can thank Ayato-kun for that? Who’s going to fix this, I wonder?

Yui: ( It definitely won’t be Laito-kun, that’s for sure... )

Azusa: Eve, Laito...!

Yui: Azusa-kun!

Azusa: Are both of you unscathed...?

Yui: Yeah, we’re fine. How about you...?

Azusa: I’m alright as well...The two of them left right away once they realized that you were gone...

Yui: I see. I’m glad you’re safe and sound...

Azusa: What about you, Laito? You didn’t seem to be feeling well...

Laito: All good! Seems like the fresh air really helped.

Azusa: I see...But don’t push yourself too much, okay?

Laito: Heeh...How kind of you to look out for me like that. As to be expected of my ‘big bro’~

Yui: ( Eh? Big brother... )

Azusa: Yeah...Family is important after all...Of course I’d be worried about you...

Ah...There’s something I need to tell you two.

Laito: Yes?

Azusa: Carla and the others have returned.

When Carla heard about Ayato-san and Kanato-san’s attack on the manor...It got him thinking. He wants all of us to gather together and hear him out.

Kou and Subaru went out to look for you two, so they’re absent right now, but I’m sure they’ll return sooner or later...

I’ll go tell Carla that the two of you made it back safely, okay...?

ー Azusa leaves again

Laito: ...I see. He really lost his memories, huh? Calling me family.

Yui: Is that why you addressed him as ‘big brother’ earlier?

Latio: Yup, exactly. I figured I’d see it for myself. By the looks of it, the others as well...

Fake brothers...Huh?

Yui: ( I wonder what he seems to be pondering about...? )

Laito: ...Say, Bitch-chan? Shall we go back to my room for now until Kou and Subaru get back?

You must be exhausted after everything that went down, no? Let’s rest up a bit.

Monologue

As soon as we arrived at Laito-kun’s room,

we fell into a deep sleep.

For Laito-kun, it was probably the backlash,

of retrieving his memories.

While for me, I believe it was the sense of relief,

which ended up hitting me hard.

I completely lost myself,

in the first comfortable sleep I had gotten in a long time.

ー The scene shifts to Laito’s room

Yui: Zzー... Zzー...

Laito: She’s sleeping so defenselessly. ...I guess she finally let loose.

You were trying your hardest all by yourself this whole time, weren’t you?

So, I’llーー

Monologue

After resting up in our room for a bit,

Azusa-kun came telling us to come,

in a hesitant manner.

Apparently Kou-kun and Subaru-kun,

had made their return.

After quickly making ourselves presentable,

and rushing over to the living room,

the others had already gathered there.

With a stern expression on his face,

Carla-san addressed us in a solemn toneーー

Carla: I was aware that the Orange House had been investigating our manor, however, I did not expect them to directly attack us.

Kou: For realー I was shocked when we came back and our door had been destroyed.

Azusa-kun was in a state of panic and both Eve and Laito-kun were nowhere to be found.

Laito: It all happened so suddenly, running was the only thing on our mind. Right, Bitch-chan?

Yui: Y-Yeah...

Azusa: Thank god you’re both safe...

Subaru: ‘Thank god’, my ass. What if those bastards come for us again?

Carla: There were only a small number of people involved in this conflict. On top of that, they chose to attack us directly.

While it is very much possible that those two came up with the idea for an attack themselves, rather than it being a direct order from Ruki...

Either way, I take this as a declaration of war. Let us go make quick work of those nuisances of the Orange House.

Yui: No way...!

Kou: The Orange House, huh? Honestly, I think Ruki, the oldest brother, will be the most difficult to deal with.

Subaru: Don’t be pissin’ your pants now! You just gotta show them who’s boss, no matter who your opponent may be!

Azusa: Everyone...Be careful not to get hurt, okay?

Yui: ( Carla-san has decided to actually make a move... )

( I can’t watch quietly as they wage war against Ayato-kun and the others...! )

Selection

Yui: Carla-san, won’t you reconsider!? Fighting is not the correct thing to do right now!

Carla: Your opinion is irrelevant. I am the one who makes the decisions.

Yui: But...

Laito: Lay it off. Carla’s word is law after all.

Yui: Laito-kun...

( But at this rate, Ayato-kun and the others will...! )

Yui: ( Carla-san is serious about this. He actually wants to attack them. )

( Whatever I say right now, it’d be pointless. I can only keep quiet... )

Laito: ...Your expression gives it away. Come on, you have to act normal.

Yui: ( ...! Laito-kun... )

Yui: ( Right. Laito-kun has retrieved his memories. I’m sure he’ll help me out. )

( I hope I’ll be able to ask him for advice once we’re alone... )

Kou: Hmー? Did something happen with you two?

Yui: Eh? W-Why do you ask?

Kou: I mean, you’re looking at him so passionately.

The two of you seem awfully close as well. Did something happen when you were being attacked by the Orange House?

Yui: ( H-He’s sharp... )

Laito: ...What a sinful man I am, attracting such passionate stares from the ladies~

Subaru: God, could you please not spout that bullcrap? Even Eve’s disgusted by it.

Carla: Enough with the trivial chit-chat.

I want each of you to get everything ready to launch our attack on the Orange House.

Laito, do not let Eve out of your sight under any circumstances.

Laito: Rogerー You can leave Eve in my hands while you guys focus on the fight with the Orange House.

Good luck kicking their ass, okay~?

( I can’t believe he’s saying that when their opponent is Ayato-kun and the others...Those aren’t his true feelings, right? )

ー The scene shifts to Laito’s room

Yui: Haah...I was so nervous. Thanks for earlier, Laito-kun.

Laito: Hm? What do you mean?

Yui: You know, you covered for me when Kou was suspicious of us, remember?

Laito: Rather than covering for you, I just genuinely felt happy with the passionate look you were giving me~

Some things are more exciting when you’re being watched, no?

Yui: I don’t think so, I can say that much...

Laito: Oh geez, can’t you play along? We’re finally all alone, so let’s mess around a little~

Ah, could it be...You’re waiting for me to jump you? In which case, I better live up to your expectations~

Yui: N-No! I’m not waiting for anything!

( He’s still his usual self despite everything we were just told. )

( ...No, I’m sure that deep down, he wants to do something about it as well. )

( Ayato-kun and Kanato-kun are his brothers after all. )

Laito-kun, about earlier...

Laito: That you want me to assault you? Geez! So you’re in the mood for that after all.

Yui: N-Not that one! What Carla-san told us.

At this rate, they’ll get into a conflict. ...No, they might even fight to the death.

We have to stop everyone somehow...!

Laito: Ehー? I don’t see the problem?

Yui: ...Eh?

Laito: We don’t lose anything from Carla going to attack the other Houses, right? We should just let them do their thing.

Yui: B-But...Ayato-kun and Kanato-kun are in danger as well, you know!? Subaru-kun as well!

No, if it turns into a fight with the Scarlet House as well, then even Shuu-san and Reiji-san might...

Laito: I’m sure they’ll be fine. Shuu is surprisingly strong and even Reiji or Kanato will pull through at times when it truly matters.

Ayato-kun and Subaru-kun are combat-oriented, as you should be aware of, so they’re used to getting into fights.

Laito: Not・to・mention...We’re Vampires, remember?

It takes a lot to kill us, so it’ll be fine.

Yui: Maybe, but...

Laito: I finally got my memories back, so let’s spend some quality time together.

Yui: B-But, I just can’t sit here and do nothing when a war is about to break looseーー

always as if he was trying to prevent me from speaking up.

I cannot get a grasp on his true intentions,

as he told me we don’t have to pay mind,

to the situation revolving Ayato-kun and Kanato-kun.

Is he certain about everyone’s safety?

Or perhaps...

He simply does not care...?

Omg a random ask for my personal opinions?? I'm touched B)

1. What's your favorite Legendary Pokemon and why?

(I'm using these specific classifications as I answer your question)

So hot take but I don't really feel too strongly about most of the legendaries 💀 I seem to be more of a sub-legendary and mythical pokemon fan by happenstance, so I'm just gonna expand my response with them since I'm more interested in them.

Strictly Legendary:

I like Lugia and Mewtwo because of their respective movies, but I honestly think I'm most attached to Cosmog by a long shot. I don't have too much of an articulate answer behind as to why other than Gen 7 really nailed the landing with creating an attachment to the curious lil' thing and I love it so much :') I just love its personality, and would 100% love to keep it as a little pet and yell at it to get in the bag. xD

Sub-Legendary:

THIS THING. THIS THING GAVE ME HELL CATCHING IT IN MY FIRST D/P PLAYTHROUGH AND IT MADE ME WANT IT SOOOOOO BAD LOOOL

I really, really, really loved the concepts behind the lake trio and what they represented, and was particularly drawn to Mespirit at the time (although Uxie lowkey has the best cry). Nowadays the trio is almost neck-and-neck even, tbh.

I also have thoroughly enjoyed Ogerpon - she's the only legendary I've actually opted to use in my main team throughout all the gens because I got attached and didn't like the other grass pokemon options.

Blacephalon is also a weird take I can't explain. I love the chaos and variety of colors in its design. It just seems very chaotic and strange as is. OH, AND THE DOG TRIO FROM JOHTO. AND LATIOS AND LATIAS. GOD I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM IN EVERY MEDIA.

Mythical:

OOOOH this one is VERY close because I love, love, love the mythicals apparently. Celebi's connection to time, the movie, THE GAMES, and the overall atmosphere behind it is just 110% my kind of personal aesthetic lmao. Like I'd love to have this little fairy are you kidding me???

Shaymin is a very very close second. I love how it has two forms and love its connection to nature. My connection to this pokemon in particular also grew because I associate it with the late memory of someone close to me who passed away. I think of them with this pokemon, so it holds an extra sentiment.

Otherwise I really really really also love Mew (fight me) and Jirachi is awesome because WISHES??? Bangers.

2. If you could Kieran any legendary (other than the Gen 9 legends), which would you give and why?

Lol you're so based for excluding the gen 9 mons, lets go.

Strictly Legendary:

Helloooo Gen 5 fans LMAO. I really feel like there's a lot of unspoken poetry between Kieran & the player with Reshiram/Zekrom parallels. I could honestly see Kieran holding either legendary relatively well from a symbolic standpoint, but Zekrom seems to fit him a bit more imo. He's quite motivated through his ideals to find a truth he wants to see - whether it be "the Ogre being misunderstood" before it was verified, his concepts for what makes a capable trainer and respectable or valued person, and his desires to prove himself. He gets a little too lost in his visions to the point where they cloud his perception and his judgement is ultimately soured; he's desperate to compete and externals it on the player, but in reality he's competing with the standard of an ideal he thinks he himself should be.

Sub Legendary:

I don't mean to pull too much from the lake trio with this post, but honestly, I feel like a lot of Kieran's journey and character arc can be summed up with his enduring willpower. Whether he's motivated through passion, spite and envy, or through his desire to correct his wrongdoings, Kieran really grows into his own because of how much he prioritizes his fire and determination.

Mythical:

Bit of an indescribable take for me but I'm oddly drawn to Marshadow for the mythicals - especially for Teal Mask Kieran. I think it just really symbolizes more of his timid dispositions and more gentle personality underneath everything his edgieness LOL, I guess? And there's something that speaks to me in terms of having him honor that side of him and learn to embrace it - especially alongside the other picks I listed.

This was fun!! I hope these answers were entertaining. :)

She's rolling in her bed as images flash in her mind, voices from the past echoing, voices she never wanted to hear again.

“Why did you betray me?”

A thunder stroke down, briefly illuminating the silhouette of the other Pokémon. Flashes of blue and white fading back into the darkness as the lightning ended.

“You're insane!”

He laughed.

“You'll have to come up with a better reason, young one.”

Red eyes flashed through the dark. A sinister grin crossed his face.

“Stop calling me that! I'm not your little one! I never was!”

Another sinister laugher followed by another evil grin.

“I took you under my wing and raised you. Under my training you became stronger! A true, powerful Witch! And yet, you repay me with betrayal.”

“You didn't raise me! You kidnapped me! You brainwashed me! You took me from my home! You killed someone important to me! You made me your slave! Everything I hate about myself comes from you!”

Now the laugher has stopped. There was only a sinister and malicious look on the other Pokémon's face.

“I was freeing you!” The dragon Pokémon yelled, his red eyes filled with fury.

“By enslaving me?” She spat back, teeth bared in a snarl. “You're a hypocrite.”

Latios simply shook his head in disbelief and disappointment.

“You were already a slave, young one. You just never knew it yourself.”

The thunder continued to crash, illuminating the blue and white face of the Chaos Pokémon. She didn’t know if this was a memory of the past or if the spirit of the evil Pokémon was there, haunting her dreams, filling her with guilt and shame.

“A monster, is what you are.”

“A monster, you say? Humans are the true monsters. They are the ones who are destroying our planet, killing our kind, using us for their own purposes. You were such a slave to them! They were the ones who brainwashed you!” The dragon shouted, his red eyes burning with hatred.

“You’re wrong!” Myra spat back. “Arwin was my friend! He was like family! But you don’t understand any of this. You have love for nothing. Not even for your own kin.”

She thought of Latias, the poor red dragoness had gone through so much shit because of her corrupted brother. Perhaps the only deity she felt some sympathy for. “You only love destruction and death. You’re no better than the humans you want to destroy so much.”

“How could I ever love a sister who refuses to aid me in my plan? She is as weak minded as the rest of you. Pathetic little creatures who live to be ruled by others. Such a shame.”

The chaos dragon snarled, but he stayed silent for a few minutes as if processing his next words.

“I will come back, Myra. Mark my words. And when I do, you can be sure that every single human life will cease to exist. Lugia and the other gods will fall. I will rule the new world as a new God and lead our kind to prosperity, as it should have been in the past. And there won’t be a place on Earth, no realm, no crevice where you can hide from me. You will be mine again... Or suffer the consequences. The choice is yours.”

His evil laugher echoed through her mind, mixed with the thunder and in an instant, he disappeared, and Myra woke up with a scream of terror.

Was this only a nightmare? Or a prelude of things to come?

THIS IS ONE OF THE FOUR LORDS, CALLED THE RED HORROR. AN BEING THAT IS SAID TO BE OLDER THAN THE AUDITOR. BUT FAR MORE DESTRUCTIVE, IT’S SUPPOSEDLY THE REASON WHY EVERYONE THERE IS SO BLOOD THRISTY FOR VIOLENCE. THERE ARE MORE BUT MY. VESSEL IS STILL WORKING ON THEM. What's Going on with Lanky right now?

“ASK NOT FOR WHOM THE BELLS TOLLS FOR”

“IT TOLLS FOR THEE. ENJOY THE RESULTS OF YOU STUPID FUCKS SUMMONING LANKY BACK~ HEHE~”

“Oh fOr THe LoVE of... PleAse DOn’t MenTIon lANky... ThAT’s THe LAsT THing We NeEd. hIM fiGUrIng Out THat prOWleR is STiLl alIve... sPEaKing Of thAt...” he grunts, huffing a bit as he and susan walked over to the melting body of the large demon, glancing over to that lump of ink that was torn out, he blinked, seeing that it was the bodies of the animatronic Bendy, The Demon that was once ‘Wally’ And... oh... that’s something, it was a strange fusion of prowler’s sammy with a couple of other variants of the prophet.... though he huffs, he knows the actual soul of their sammy was in prowler... he snorts, but picks up the passed out ‘false’ prophet anyway. since he does remember the fella. he also picks up the animatronic and ‘wally’ too, snorting a bit as he looks at susan “How’s THe BIg GUy hOldING uP GIrl?”

susan barks and huffs, making a thumbs up, glancing at the demon was halfway melted away to ‘normal’ she perked up as she and alpha looked over to see the ink wyvern landing near them, with prowliz getting off as she rushes over, her eyes wide “is he okay?! what happened are you all alright?!” she said, panting as lizzie snorted, gently nudging her back as alpha blinks, glancing to susan “y...yeAh wE’rE okAy... bUT aS foR pROwLER wE doN’T.....” he glances over, seeing the demon was no longer as large as he was before, alpha walks over to the messy pile, cleaning it up and going to stabilize it- before stepping back as his eye widened in shock “oH jEsUS chRIsT Kid....”

prowler’s entire body was messed up to the bone, he’d somehow has pieces of other demons stuck and lodged into him, even sporting alu’s wings, hinting that he may of found alu earlier on after what had happened to him... but either way. the demon himself was a mess. damaged and broken but. still alive but barely. prowliz’s eyes were wide with shock, rushing over and tightly hugging prowler, nearly sobbing as the demon was barely responsive. he was exhausted as hell. his body was pale and cracking, exposing parts of his soulless state, twitching as he coughs, dripping out a purplish liquid. alpha places the bodies he was holding onto lizzie, as susan snorts, scrambling onto her as the former ink demon went over to prowliz, gently patting her shoulder “HeY... COme On... We’Ll fiX hIM Up BacK At THe loDge aLrIGht?” he said to prowliz, the demoness sniffling as she nodded, before hiccuping as she gently places prowler onto lizzie, with her and alpha getting on last, making sure the others were on there tightly “AlRigHT lIZzIe... LeT’s GO hOme” he says, the wyvern snorting and sprouting her wings while flying off, unaware that the large amounts of excess ink left by prowler was finding it’s way towards the immoblized body of the gigantic lurker tyrant

Alpha Sighs as he and the others were on the large wyvern, humming to himself as he looked around, frowning a bit as prowliz glances over “why couldn’t things go back to normal? we were all finally having a chance to relax when lanky came around and ruined it....” she said, sighing as alpha frowns a bit “BeCaUSe... liFe ISN’t FaIR lIke THaT lIZ... eVEn thoUgh i wAnt HiM GOne Just As MUcH As thE NExT PeRsOn. We’Re STuCK wiTH hIS anNoyING aSs foR thE tiME BeiNG...” he said, sighing a bit as she frowned, rubbing her eyes “i wish things were normal again....” she said, looking down as alpha frowns, reaching out to pat her back “I kNo-” lizzie suddenly reared up and screeches, a plasma beam was shot nearly pass her, the others quickly becoming alarmed, before another beam hits the wyvern, causing her to fall and crash, the others screaming as they fell into the forest, with the ink wyvern screeching as she crashes into the more deader parts of the forest with the three bodies in hold. while prowliz, alpha, susan, and the worn out destroyed body of prowler fell onto the harsh ground, though alpha caught the other before anything else could be broken “JeSUs FucKing CHriSt WHat THe hELl wAs thAt?!” he says, growling and steaming as he looks around, prowliz groaning as she stumbles up, wincing as she holds her shoulder groaning “o-owwww.... alpha i think my s-sh-” she screeches as she was suddenly smacked towards tree, her hoodie being torn up a bit, revealing bandages underneath as she groaned, holding her side as she slid off the wood, susan barking as she rushes over to check up on her. alpha staring eye widely. before hearing a familiar cackling, he frowned and growled, slowly turning around to glare as he hears a very familiar voice

"Now this is a curious sight~. Another god of negativity that was sealed away by weak-minded fools because they feared their power. Never thought I'd find another one." The Eevee sat in midair, crossing his legs as he materialized a cup of tea for himself. He hadn't made any sort of entrance, just materialized an echo of himself in Latios' prison. Taking a sip, he inquired. "I'm curious how all of this came about."

An odd thing worth noting were the massive stab wounds in the Eevee's torso, glowing purple and white energy flowing out of them. Even after countless millennia, they still hadn't healed. As well, despite appearing to be a normal Eevee, they had an energy that could be closely compared to Chaos Lugia.

"And just letting you know, I may be convinced to help you out, in return for you helping me with something in my own dimension."

The chaos god turned his head at the unknown voice. He almost laughed at the sight of the Eevee, but the presence he felt coming from him caught the dragon by surprise as it was close to Chaos Lugia's himself.

“Oh, really now? Interesting. I thought I was the only one.” He answered back, his maw turning into a sly smile.

He studied the other entity carefully, red eyes glowing in the darkness. Why an Eevee, of all creatures, would be a creature of pure evil and chaos like himself he didn’t know, but then again, he met versions of himself that weren’t beings made of pure evil and chaos, so he shouldn’t be at all surprised. The Multiverse was a big mystery.

“Help me out, you say? Fine then. I might help you in your little scheme. It should be fun. I’m tired of staying here and doing nothing while humans are slowly destroying my world.”
