CRAZY THEORY INCOMING
I think my brain just glitched...
Ok so... Camelot. Arthur made Camelot through the power of Chaos right. At first, I found it weird that Arthur even needed to steal parts of Britannia to make Camelot. Chaos is incredibly powerful, it literally made three powerful deities that made their own realms for their own created races. So... why can't Arthur just make Camelot on its own. Then, it was later established that these places and people in Camelot are made through the wishes and wants of the people, without it there's nothing. If Chaos is so powerful, why is Arthur limited through that? Then it clicked.
The Sacred Tree is still alive
The Sacred Tree is essentially an embodiment of Nature. Disaster, a power granted by The Sacred Tree to the Fairy Kings is an ability that grants control over life and death.
The 'people' within Camelot function like a physical illusion. They're 'alive' but not really. They're just there, fueled by a wish. They don't even grow old, they just stay like that because that's all they are an illusion, they're not alive because there's no life.
The Demon King's power is darkness. The Supreme Diety's power is light. The Sacred Tree's power is life.
Notice how unnatural-looking the Chaos monsters are. Almost demonic even. That, to me, shows that Chaos is unstable.
The Demon King and his Commandments and The Supreme Deity and her graces are somewhat of an extension of themselves, it's their power passed to others. If we correlate this to Chaos creating the DK, SD and ST as Chaos sacrificing parts of their power, that power is lost or weakened because they have it. But the DK and SD are no longer present and since they are created by Chaos, that power most likely goes back to it. That is my assumption at least. But the graces are still out there. Ludo, Sariel, and Tarmiel died with their graces so they'll just go back after a few thousand years with their graces so that part of the SD probably didn't even go back to Chaos.
I made a post way back and on that, I compared the Commandments and Graces to Disaster as all three are just an extension of the DK, SD, and ST's power, in there I noted how Disaster is different as all three Fairy Kings can use it even if they're all present, it's not like the Commandments and Graces that only one person can use it. So that is also interesting.
There is also a complete lack of Sacred Tree information and just now, in 4kota is literally the first time we ever step foot inside the Fairy Realm and we got more Fairy Lore which is really nice. Now, what if the reason behind the lack of information about the Sacred Tree is because of Chaos. Nakaba doesn't want us to know anything about Chaos up until the very end because of 4kota, because he wants to keep Chaos a mystery.
In Chapter 140, Tioreh told us about these giant mushrooms that grow on top of the Sacred Tree's roots that are called "God Seats". The DK and SD are the only ones primarily dubbed as Gods. So that part is also interesting.
This is the Demon King's last words to Meliodas.
Tumblr media
"You will regret this..."
In Cursed By Light, before Meliodas and Zeldris beat the Supreme Deity, she says that the only way to maintain balance in the world is by continuing the Holy War.
Before Chaos is established, this is just nonsense. But now that we know... I have a feeling that the DK and SD sealing away Chaos has more to it than what we know. Also, isn't it fun that two beings born to be in conflict with one another worked together to seal Chaos? Now, we don't get to know more because they're gone but the Sacred Tree is still around... so there's that.
I have a huge feeling that Nakaba will give us some juicy lore about the Sacred Tree in the future. Either that or I'm high on copium.

Well, it’s official then. The Demon King and the Supreme Deity (considering the official canon material of the manga) already had a more “intimate” experience in their life. Now we question who is the demon bros canon mother and Elizabeth original father.

While I love Tristan, lancelot, gawain, and isolde, I would honestly rather have gotten prequels rather than a sequel from nnt
Like I'm watching season 5 episode 16 (possibly my fave episode) and ban says the 7th rule of the sins is "whether you like it or not, sometimes we have to work together" and that got me thinking about 10 years before the start, during the early years of the sins. Clearly they weren't always so fond of each other lol. Like I want to see them begin to learn to lean on each other, see the vampires of Edinburgh arc, see Zaratras (bc he's just so babygirl).
Even more so, I DESPERATELY want to see the Holy War as like a full sequence of events, see more of demon and goddess politics, as well as the demon and goddess realms, plus Meliodas and Elizabeth's original love story bc like I want to know how they went from Blood stained Ellie and Meliodas of Love to working with Stigma. I want to see the glory days of the 10 commandments, I want to know about Belialuin and the warlocks, the creation of the celestial race. PLUS I want to know more about the Supreme deity !! And meliodas and zeldris's mom, and Elizabeth's father, and watch gelda and zeldris fall in love.
There's just so much incredible world building that I feel like we're missing out by not getting to see these stories😭😭
Ps if anyone has any good prequel fic recs I would very much like them👀👀👀

LORE (1): THE SUPREME DEITY — NANATSU NO TAIZAI
So, I’ve recently come up with some lore that kind of makes sense on the Supreme Deity.
Now, as an ex-Christian, one thing I know for sure is that the figureheads of the Church were were primarily males, the females that were mentioned a number of times in a good light were Eve (somewhat), the virgin Mary, Elizabeth — Mary’s cousin, and Mary Magdalene, etc.
So on the 40 (?) minutes I had on my bus ride home from school, I created something on the Supreme Deity using what I have stated above.
First things first, her predecessors were all males. For numerous generations, there were only male rulers, which is pretty ironic since they're referred to as ‘Goddesses’ which is the term used for females.
When she was conceived, there was a prophesy given that she would change the flow of the Goddess Clan for many generations to come and would be known as ‘The Supreme Deity’.
Now, everyone strongly believed that she was a male and celebrated this prophesy, thinking that she would put an end to the Demon Clan once and for all and lead the Goddesses to prosperity.
However, one of the ‘Seers’ tells them that the child would be a female rather than a male, and this sparks an outrage. The ruler at the time, her father, immediately sentenced him to be beheaded for speaking ‘blasphemy’.
Now, her mother was already quite frail, and having such a negative spotlight over her head only caused her health to weaken further.
As she was being born, both her and her mother faced some complications which was life threatening in both their parts, but thankfully, they survive.
Weaker than ever, her mother is advised to not have another child if she wishes to live.
When the mid-wife announces the Supreme Deity — who I’ve named Athena because it kind of fits — is a female, everything takes a whole 180 from there.
Her father is enraged, cursing at his barely conscious wife for birthing him a disgrace, and blaming Athena being a girl on her, to which the mid-wife explains that since a woman’s egg cannot choose the gender of the baby, the fault was his.
Reluctant to have a woman as his heir and face being a laughing stock, he takes in numerous concubines, ten to be exact, hoping that one of them would bear him a male child.
As he does this, he neglects his wife who’s slowly dying and the newborn Athena.
Unfortunately for him and themselves, all the concubines only bear female children which causes him to lash out and kill all ten of his concubines and their daughters, earning him the name as ‘The Blood-Soaked King’.
At this point, people were ready to accept her as the heir to the throne and come to term with the prophecy, but the King was desperate to have a male child.
The aides had advised him to accept it and move on, telling him that the more he mulled over this, the more his image in the eyes of the people would worsen.
He didn’t listen, and much to everyone's dismay, he took advantage of a young maid who had just begun serving his wife and impregnated her.
The aides were severely disappointed, and urged him to kick her out of the palace for the both of them to save face — mostly him because he did force himself on her, but alas, he never takes their advice.
His only response was, “I will keep her here in case she gives me a son, if not, she and her child will join the concubines in the world of the deceased.”
Nine months pass and it’s the moment everyone’s anticipated.
The maid bears a male child.
Because of this, the King makes her his official mistress and makes it official that his son would take the throne when he is of age.
None of the royals were happy with the news, after all, they would rather have a ruler of high noble status like Athena rather than one with the blood of a commoner.
Because of the heartbreak, Athena’s mother dies, leaving her orphaned at the young age of three.
As the two grow up, the King makes it obvious that he doesn’t care about his daughter, doing his very best to marry her off to some low ranked noble family and call it a day, but she doesn’t let that happen.
Athena is very clearly more intelligent than her younger brother which makes her very important in the government, and everyone who has expressed how they think she would be a better fit for the throne was executed and replaced.
Once her brother her turned eighteen (in goddess years), she was twenty three (in goddess years), and he was to be coronated.
However, the coronation aligned with the death anniversary held for her mother.
Once again, the aides brough their concerns to the King, telling him that moving the coronation to the next month would be ideal so Athena and her maternal family would be able to mourn her mother.
He tells them that if they prioritize her over his son ever again, he wouldn't hesitate to kill them all.
And just to spite them, he makes the coronation fall on the day his wife dies, at the exact hour of her death.
However, this ‘joyous’ occasion is turned into a bloodbath by the Ten Commandments (of the time) who kill off the prince just as he’s crowned.
They kill everyone who was at the coronation at that moment. The King and Archangels (of the time) are no exception.
Hearing the news that the coronation was ambushed, Athena leaves her mother's memorial to prepare for battle.
The battle is horrible, the Goddesses were on the verge of defeat, and it is at the peak of the battle that Athena shows just why she was prophesied to be called the Supreme Deity.
The battle ends in the Demons retreating, and in bloodstained clothes, Athena goes into the chapel where the corpses of her father and brother are and takes the bloodied crown, sovereign scepter and sovereign orb.
Then and there on the day were she’d lost her entire family, she gained the power she’d been seeking since she learnt how to speak.
Athena rose to the throne and became the first ever female ruler and the most powerful one in the history of the Goddess Clan.

ok ok ok so if gloxinia was born from the sacred tree, we could call him the sacred tree's son yeah
the Sacred tree is technically the sibling of the supreme deity and the demon king right right
does that make gloxinia their nephew???
there is no reason for me to have this question i just find it funny because Calmadios called them "goddesses dogs" and i was like "actually-"
this is just a random thought process with no purpose anyway bye ig

The seven deadly assholes :
This post is basically me ranting about the biggest bastards in the nnt universe ( I'd rlly like to see other people's opinion on this lol).
7. Ban's Parents
Tumblr media
Ban's parents have the last place in the list ( both on parenting and in being assholes ) . They literally had one page in the entire series and still managed to make it into this list !
Seeing Ban getting beat up in the manga was hard enough but in the anime + the emotional music had me punching the air like a 5 year old .
I hope these two are roting in their disgusting home, crying in rage when they find out that there " crap for brains" son is a wealthy king with a family of his own now .
6. Ironside
Tumblr media
Yet another crappy parent has made it into the running ! Not only did this jerk abandon his son as a baby and dumped him on his father ( is percival even Ironside's son ?) he couldn't let the poor kid live in peace and MURDERED Percy's grandpa, his own father in cold blood before trying to kill percival too leaving him to die .
If that wasn't enough we found out not that long ago that this ass is happily raising HIS OTHER SON in Camelot, proving that he can actually be a good dad... BUT NOT TO PERCIVAL 💀.
No instead the few times they ran into each other, Ironsid tried to kill percival, harmed his friends and even tried manipulating him into thinking he cared for him to take him by surprise in a fight .
Diodra and Percy both deserve a better dad tbh.
5. Cath Palug
Tumblr media
I LOVED YOU, YOU STUPID CAT, I LOVED YOU SO MUCH 😭😭😭😭😭😭 !!
This adorable piece of crap is what triggered Arthur's descent into evil and I will never ever ever forgive him for that.
( I really loved him...)
4. Arthur
Tumblr media
Since I was talking about arthur, I think that the king of chaos rightfully deserved 4th place ( ironically he got 4th place in the popularity contest )
This boy has lost his entire kingdom and his subjects .
He has been betrayed by his closest companions ( Cath, Meliodas when he lost his emotions, Merlin when she used him to awaken Chaos )
He even DIED and came back to life which must've been very traumatising for a teenager ( I think he was 16 during the holy war.
The fact that he went through all of his crap makes a lot of the fandom ( including me ) a bit more emphathising towards him when he became evil .
But he still murdered hundreds of fairy's and giants when they were being manipulated by the supreme deity, ( cursed by light ), capture non human races to turn them into disfigured freaks ( Grudge of edinburgh) and manipulated vulnerable people who lost loved ones in the holy war to join his side . Plus his punishments for knights who have failed his expectations are horrific.
So yeah Arthur your kind of an asshole.
( but I blame merlin and chaos and hopelessly keep believing that he'll come to his senses )
3. Supreme deity and Demon King
Tumblr media
*sigh*
You guys take the crown for the worst parents in the nnt universe aswell as the worst leaders of your races .
I'm getting tired and I'm too lazy to make the two page essay of why these creatures are the biggest shit stains on Brittania .
So instead I'm going to close my eyes and revel in the fact that they are both gone.
.....
I'm still reveling
2. Vivian
Tumblr media
LOCK THIS BITCH UP FOR FUCKS SAKE, WHAT IS WRONG WITH LIONES SECURITY ????
STRIKE ONE : SHE'S BEEN OBSESSING OVER GILTHINDER SINCE HE WAS A CHILD AND TRIED TO RUIN HIS WHOLESOME RELATIONSHIP WITH MARGARET .
STRIKE TWO : SHE HELPS HENDRICKSON

STRIKE FOUR : SHE KIDNAPS GIL, LOCKS HIM UP IN SOME GODESS ISLAND OR WHATEVER AND GETS TURNED ON WHEN GILTHUNDER USES THE CURSE RING IN HER, LIKE ITS LITERALLY PAINFUL WHY ARE YOU SMILING???

1. Merlin
Tumblr media
Merlin, merlin, merlin...
My old favorite character Merlin...
The most badass female character in nnt Merlin...
I was rooting for you...
Until you screwed over all your friends, your apprentice and the whole world for your thirst for KNOWLEDGE.
...
KNOWLEDGE ???
Arthur became a racist for knowledge???
You betrayed your found family for knowledge ??
Escanor's death and sacrifice...was for knowledge...?
You know what glutton, you won the mofo first place just GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE, I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU, WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU, HOW DARE YOU-
Sorry for the mistakes and lazy writing i got tired in the end ngl .
Thank you, brave people who read this and goodnight

making an nnt "god" a concrete thing with lore / biology. substance if you will. because committing to the bit is fun and nakaba missed out
inspired that the idea that not only should Meliodas and Elizabeth have a less human form but Tristan too! I love the different takes on their designs.
chapters cause this is long! and control f is our friend
canon adjacent lore
children of the gods
awakened god designs
the gods' chosen helpers
extra pet theory because I love y'all and I love elizabeth angst
@kalopsiakey @7-ratsinatrenchcoat thank you for helping out with the brainstorming for the tristan and melizabeth 'eldritch forms'! Hope you like the finished product!!
- - - - canon adjacent lore anyone ? - - - - -
In my aus, I usually go with the interpretation that the SD and DK are the latest two in a line of governing deities, with the others dying to various means. And the SD and DK blotted them out from public memory to establish the maximum amount of control for themselves.
In order to govern their realms, I propose it was a long-standing practice that gods would retain only a percentage of their power, and lend out the rest to trusted ones who help them ensure the safety and health of their realm. There might be other groups that the Archangels and Ten Commandments are in charge of!
Theoretically, this would also allow them to retain a form suitable to walk among their people. None of this taller than a castle shtick. Perhaps the DK and SD are physically magnified with their power. Part of their appearance is morphed by their will - the DK's armor, and the veil across the Supreme Diety's face seem to be symbols of their power. They can also be representative of how the DK was seen as an invincible opponent, and how now one knew the SD's true intentions but thought she's "too holy to look upon and find fault in."
To a god, sacrificing and dividing up your power (especially) in a time of peace is symbolic of trust and humility. In war, it could be neccessary to maintain one's prestige and honor as a monarch., Could mean that you value the ability to live as one of your people as one of them rather than as someone they worship.
- - - - children of the gods - - - -
What's the difference between something like the Supreme Diety and her daughter? Biologically, nothing, I'd assume. In nnt, "god" seems to be a state of being, asserted not simply by having power but by coming into your own and claiming it as you.
I propose that the gods are a conduit for that portion of their realm's magic that would otherwise roam freely, and that the other life in that realm has already absorbed, at birth, the limit each individual can handle. Biologically, that is.
For a goddess or demon to maintain that state in Britannia without cracking holes in the fabric of reality, there'd need to be some way to both reign in that power and dilute it down to a level that's manageable for that individual. And there probably are ways. Let's see what happened to Mel. His 'original powers,' when he accepted them, were raw and undivided; additionally, he had no clue how to manage a power influx of that extent and his mind was NOT in a good place to try and manage an extra extreme stressor. And uh. He has priors with letting his demon powers run amock in a destructive manner. If there's also a psychological component to how your godly powers act, that's the first uh-oh. Second uh - oh: he'd maintained complete certainty that unlocking them would have that kind of disastrous consequences for 3,000 years. self-fulfilling prophecies are a thing. especially if you believe that a demon's powers, specifically, their darkness, is deeply involved with their subconscious. Being 'a god' doesn't seem to logically coincide with being helpless. I think the real reason the DK and SD were trapped in their "bubbles" in their respective realms is their refusal to set aside that power, and walk as a simple demon or goddess even temporarily. A lack of will (in the gods' place) or a lack of control (Mel), rather than a lack of possibility. It makes it more interesting, I think!
In that case, the natural disasters we saw after Mel stepped into that power would be a result of the vast amount of demon realm magic accompanying him running completely amock in the wrong realm, interfering with the other magics present and the balance.
- - - - For "awakened god" designs! - - - -
I think Meliodas would want to keep his appearance mostly the same . . . just with more pizazz. Same with Zeldris, he seems to have it down pretty well already judging by his dramatic entrance in 4kota. If they're able to channel their powers well enough for this, I think they'd leave most 'monstrous' features toggled off while using this form except for their aura, and other associated demonic features such as wings, horns, and claws. They'd use the extra power boost to help their darkness roam with more versatility. Perhaps it'd form a tail behind them and coil about their horns and nearby loved ones like decorative, protective wreaths. It might lend a dragonlike flair to Meliodas, with several sets of horns about his face and dragonlike spines; and likewise, for Zeldris, some regal feathers and a simple, elegant floating crown - irremovable but loved - floating like a halo above his head.
I think Elizabeth would gain another pair of wings (if not more), and a dress of light in the same theme as Meliodas's assault mode outfit. She would have a magnificent crown of light, and she would hate it, she would complain that she didn't even wear a crown at her wedding, why does her magic think she'd want one? and she'd tear it off. every time. Maybe one day she'll accept it. Her brother-in-law tells her it's a symbol of how she'd given her heart, blood and breath to her realm, and to protecting the peace in Britannia, and that it's something she earned. But all she can see is this form is more grandiose than her mother's ever was, regardless of how much more like herself it looks than like some plain, no-faced worship-demanding statue. (That's how Meli describes her mother). Maybe one day! In the meantime, she released most of her original magic back to the Celestial Realm to assist in its revival. And covers up the crown with ribbons her husband sewed for her whenever she's prepping for a serious battle.
The special feature I came up with for what I'm calling Tristan's "awakened god form" is based on a biblical angel's wheels of eyes. That, except Twinkle stars, bright as a goddess's magic but as maneuverable as darkness, and they point in whichever direction he's focused on.
Wings would be feather-based, with darkness that weaves around them like the tounges of flames.
I think even the most high-level demons and goddesses would have less humanlike teeth in the back of their mouths accompanying their molars. Maybe just a little sharper, and much more durable. Maybe a second or third row of teeth that gets less prominent or even more retractable as it nears the lips. sharks come to mind. I'm jealous of their teeth. Why are ours so flimsy. Anyway. 7 rats proposed a demon / goddess child's noticably inhuman teeth might be like that of an anglerfish. Interesting idea.
Like. Uh- puts on a poetic narrator voice Like a wide smile, almost uncannily wide but almost like the way you walk with your feet pointed outward and not an emotion. And when he moves his mouth to speak or frown you can see little gleaming edges along his jaw like a set of jewels in a necklace. You're not sure what they are. Like spikes or horns but… from within. That ought to be decorative, you think, but you've thought the same about the demons’ sets of horns and their fangs and now that you think about it, the shapes surrounding the powered-up goddesses'… is they really magic or something supernatural beyond your mind’s comprehension. . . ?
As for the eyes - dark, demon-colored with swirling golden triskeles in the center. Since in normal form he already has the duality - and it makes sense considering how goddess and demon powers present themselves in their eyes - I think hiding the heterochromia in his eldritch form would make it more horrifying. Like, now we are stepping away from physics into what a “god” is in this universe. The darkness spills out of his eyes like the whisps of dry ice ofc!
- - - the gods' chosen helpers: examinating the the SD's blessings and the DK's curses - - - -
3/4 Archangels' Graces channel a certain element of nature: wind (Tornado), water (Ocean), light (Sunshine), with Ludociel's Flash being the odd one out. I propose this is because Ludociel has such a tainted mindset the only Grace that would take him is the one representing swift, determined action (because hehe). The Ten Commandments, unlike the Graces, have a further element of control - their double-edged nature - suggesting the DK isn't as thorough of a manipulatior (deadbeat hehe) as the SD and cannot rely on his command alone to gain 100% of the TC's focus. There's been clear tampering with the power it gives them, and less trust; they're artificial compared to the Graces, one of which was said to have chosen Escanor of its own free will. As for what they can do - they represent values that are considered virtues. Except for purity. what the hell does Derieri's purity do again? Not that she NEEDS that extra power, for the love of god the brute force trauma of this woman's second blow would probably cause permanent damage. Anyway, love forces those with hatred in their hearts to stand down from a fight (objectively not a bad thing), truth does the truth thing, etc.
These are not neccessarily combat-focused powers, though they are used and intended as such. It's not a stretch to say they could be utlized in a different manner in times of peace. The Demon Realm has probably countless small villages and intellegent species for the King to oversee and keep the peace between. It makes sense for him to have more vassals from that standpoint. Meanwile, the Celestial Realm from what we can tell has fallen into disrepair without the routine care of its people. I'm gonna go ahead and headcanon that the natural phenomenon here is at least as 'extreme' in human terms as the demon realm's, and that effectively managing a system of islands in the sky with probably dozens of intellegent migratory creatures like sky fish, etc. does take some supernatural effort. And that most of the goddess population here is centralized in one main area. Pretty much all nakaba has given us is an implied lack of diversity in the celestial realm (why everyone look like that except for Tarmiel) (it's fine we can make the creatures ourselves). Anyway. A not-double-edged-sword version of the Commandments and the current Graces could be repurposed to aid in civil relations (people), and enviornmental mangement (nature) respectively.
-- - - - - extra! pet theory as to why Elizabeth is an only child - - - -
I have a pet theory for my holy war au that Elizabeth wasn't made like a human child and is, rather, a genetic clone the SD shaped of herself (think shaping a living being out of clay) as well as just one in a succession of rebellious (and very dead) attempts at the perfect daughter. This is why there's only one of her, while Meliodas has a sibling, and why she's older than Meliodas. Until Elizabeth, there was no proof that what the SD and DK wanted could be managed without serious consequences. The SD learned that just having the one is important for the amount of control she wants over her daughter. She only has so much patience, and the sisters tended to back each other over her. Thank - well, herself - that they were so young. . . all those times. This is why the DK insisted on totally eliminating his children's emotions; he thinks so long as they don't care for one another, and don't even think to, he can manage as many as he wishes. Otherwise, he thinks the SD is a loon who failed like four times in succession, and refuses to acknowledge that he specifically waited for her to succeed, "learning" from her mistakes, before having his own children.

So I had a really convoluted idea for an au and since your one of the best NNT au ppls I wanted to talk to you about it. I will fully admit I was partially inspired bu Legend of Zelda lore.
First and foremost, in this au, Meliodas and Elizabeth aren't cursed, but they still go through the immortality/reincarnation bs.
So Meliodas and Elizabeth are basically demigods, right? But like... what if they were more than even that? What if they were full on Gods in and of themselves? They are still lower in the hierarchy compared to their parents but still divine in their own right. So, two gods... meliodas being a demonic God of War and Elizabeth a divine Goddess of Healing.
When the Great Holy War happens they fight and lead their respective clansmen, like in canon. It goes as normal for the most part, Meliodas and Elizabeth falling in love, running away to join Stigma, etc.
The difference is in how the War ends. It's not the Goddess Clan who stops the war. Meliodas and Elizabeth are the ones to commission the Coffin of Eternal Sleep, it's mechanics are designed to use the Divine magic of two gods to seal the clan away... BOTH clans. There's a price, however.
Meliodas and Elizabeth both give up their divinity, becoming a normal demon and goddess to power the seal, and their fates are bound to the seal and the two entities they intended to seal within it. Originally, the seal was meant for the Supreme Deity and the Demon King, not their clans. A coup to stop the war as a last result. So long as they live, neither Meliodas nor Elizabeth can truly die. The clans disappearing was just a side effect, one completely unintended on their part.
They succeed in sealing both the primordial gods away. However, the way the seal affects them are different. At the last second Elizabeth had tried to push Meliodas away when she realized what the price of the seal would be, making it so she got the brunt of the effect, but it wasn't enough for Meliodas to not be affected at all. Thus, when Elizabeth dies of her wounds, she is reborn as a human, and when Meliodas is killed, he is merely awakened. Both suffer from nightmares due to the link they have to their parents, which weakens when they die. Thus, why Meliodas is in Purgatory, and the reincarnation isn't instantaneous for Elizabeth in most cases.
And that's pretty much the gist of the background of the au
this sounds REALLY good, but I'm gonna assume that the "lore" you're talking about is totk lore, which I know little to nothing about. I haven't played the game yet, bc I'm busy with real life things and starting a new big game right now is probably not a good idea, plus there's still the fact that I don't have a switch, which would be a 300-400€ investment (and that's WITHOUT any games)
So what that means is that I would love to talk more about this au, but do remember to include background information, but please don't write "like in totk", because I will not understand that^^"
So anyway, what do Meliodas and Elizabeth do in this au then? as in, what's their goal? To release their respective clans without releasing the DK and SD? Do Mel and Eli want to regain their god-status/-power? And what about the seal itself, can it still be split into parts and if yes, are they still together or split apart? Do Mel and Eli know where it is? And how were the circumstances of making the seal? Like, did Mel and Eli trick craftsmen of their respective clans to make parts of it, or was that like in nnt canon? And since the canon seal had parts/depictions of every clan except the demon clan, maybe in this au there would be two separate seals for the two clans+gods?

You said this was after Mel broke the curse and killed his father. When the Supreme deity got revived, she mocked the sins, especially her daughter, how they were unable to save Mel and how pathetic and ironic it is that Mel got killed by the person he loves the most.
Ohhh~ I want Tristan (maybe with the event of 4koa?) to add on the pile. When Tristan was born, everyone was protective of him because he reminded them of Mel and mostly because he was the last piece of Mel.
Tristan grew up hearing Mel's adventures with the remaining sins, but no one told him how he died because the kingdom thinks if they told him that his mother killed his father, he would grew to despise her.
Zeldris tries to visit Tristan as much as possible because his brother's son needs to know he has an uncle, and like everyone else, he was the last piece of Mel. He didn't like Eli at all, he avoids or hiss at her everytime he sees her. He still holds a grudge of her for killing his brother despite Tristan's confusion of his uncle and mother's relationship. Zeldris didn't like talking about his brother and tired to avoid the topic everytime Tristan asked because he never got to hang out nor get to know him.
I leave the rest to you because I love how you rambled with ideas, and I love them!!!
You know what even more sadder in this au?
Is that Mel never got peace after the curse broke after killing his father, he never got to live in peace with Eli and his family :(((
saharthings asked: Gowther would be giving Tristan the story of the seven deadly sins, mainly his parents. He would see how much suffering his parents have went through especially his father. Although, it never shown his death because like everyone else, Gowther doesn't want Tristan to hate his mother.
(In reference to/continuation of this and this post)
Oh, you want rambling? Well then, let's see what I can do.
First of, yes, this is after the breaking of the curse and the death of the Demon King. That is, in a way, what creates the whole heartbreak of it all - the curse being broken means Meliodas is really dead-dead with no resurrection.
(Oh damn. When I think about it, it would be interesting to explore an AU to this AU, I guess you could call it, where the events in My Love, It Burns (bad ending) happens BEFORE the curse is broken. This would present a whole different kind of angst, because we all know Meliodas would brush it off because it's not like he can actually die and they've got a curse to break, but Elizabeth would be completely wrecked with the guilt and - Yeah, I might actually write this some day. Maybe?)
Okay, I got a little sidetracked. But! The curse is broken, Meliodas is dead. This would of course change everything about the fight against the Supreme Deity. There are so many things in Cursed by Light that depend on Meliodas and his relationships. He and Elizabeth are out on their honeymoon trip when they meet Zeldris and Gelda, he "convinces" Zeldris to let them come along to the Demon Realm, they all fight together against Dahlia and Dubs and thereby learn about the Supreme Deity's involvement, then they get back to Liones in time for Meliodas and Zeldris to kill her. This story would look completely different without Meliodas. Elizabeth would have no reason to go on the trip and wouldn't run into Zeldris and Gelda, her relationship with Zeldris would be even worse off than Meliodas' is in canon, Zeldris and Gelda would be forced to face Dahlia and Dubs alone, and Zeldris and Gelda's roles in the actual fight with the Supreme Deity would look different as they would in that case come there to face her alone without any involvement from Meliodas.
It's interesting to think about (and now I kinda wanna make a fic out of that too - but I would have to figure out how to write actual fight scenes first lol). I can definitely see the Supreme Deity being absolutely cruel against the remaining Sins and even more against Elizabeth. After everything Elizabeth did, after going against the Supreme Deity and the goddesses' principles, after choosing Meliodas time and time again, she was the one to kill him. The Supreme Deity would no doubt appreciate the irony of it. And then the Seven Deadly Sins? The famed order of knights, responsible for defeating the demon threat, kill the Demon King himself and end the war, well, they couldn't even keep their own captain alive. Oh... I think her gloating about Meliodas' demise would be the cause of her own fall. Because like the Sins and Elizabeth, yeah they might accept her talking shit about themselves - hello guilt and self-blame - but not each other and absolutely not Meliodas. Elizabeth would make good of that threat she gives in canon, that if the Supreme Deity doesn't stop hurting her family and friends, she will fight her. And fight her she does! Alongside Zeldris, who came after there to confront her after everything that happened in the Demon Realm.
That would be what determined Elizabeth and Zeldris' relationship going forward. But before we step further into the future, there's one more character I wanna talk about: Gelda.
Gelda's place in this AU and the whole ordeal with Meliodas' death is another intriguing thing to think about. Because on one side, she sees firsthand the utter devastation Meliodas' death at the Elizabeth's hands causes Zeldris. On the other side, Meliodas and Elizabeth were the ones who freed her from her second seal and then saved Zeldris from the Demon King, not just when he possessed Zeldris body but also by killing the Demon King and releasing Zeldris from his influence and control. I also think she and Elizabeth have a deeper understanding for each other - she knows that Elizabeth would of course never willingly harm Meliodas, if she did that it was either an accident or because it was literally the only option she had. Gelda would be able to view the situation more objectively and not let her emotions cloud her ability to see it from Elizabeth or the Sins' perspective. I think she would push Zeldris to maintain a relationship with Elizabeth after Meliodas' death and especially after the news about baby Tristan.
Of course, Zeldris doesn't need much convincing to be a part of Tristan's life - but more about that later. First, let's talk a little about Tristan himself.
I don't know which alternative is worse: Elizabeth finding out she's pregnant with Meliodas' child after her magic kills him, or Elizabeth and Meliodas both already knowing she's pregnant when the attack happens. Ugh, so much angst, I love it. Or, third option, Bartra knew Elizabeth was pregnant because of his Vision but hadn't said anything yet because he wanted them to find out on their own and then Elizabeth had to find out alone because Meliodas' died before he could even find out he was going to be a father. So, so much angst potential in this AU.
Okay, but what about Tristan then? No matter how anyone finds out, Tristan is born and suddenly there's this last piece of Meliodas, completely free of all the pain and horror, in the world. So, Tristan grows up fiercely protected. Just like in canon, Tristan will constantly hear how much like his mother he looks. From outsiders. But when it comes to his family and even more his parents' family and friends, they look at him and they see Meliodas - which is not good for the guilt that none of them seem able to shake, and definitely makes their protectiveness of Tristan worse.
Tristan might never have gotten the chance to meet his father, but everyone around him certainly makes him feel alive. Tristan grows up surrounded by stories about his father; of how he saved the kingdom and the entirety of Britannia, of how he saved his family and friends in big and small ways, of how he was a demon and he was good, of how despite everything he went through he would always smile, of how his cooking could make even an immortal fear for his life. Tristan heard stories about the big things and the small things, the amazing things and the silly things. He heard stories about everything except how his father died. It was the one thing nobody would ever speak to him about - he was a hero, he died protecting this kingdom; never a how and never a who. Even when Gowther gifted him the story of his parents, that part was still missing.
As the years pass, Tristan gets even more stuck on that one missing story. Some might even say it turns into an obsession. But Tristan can't let it go; it's that one even that kept him from ever meeting his father. And he just doesn't get it. Why won't anyone tell him? There was definitely some horrible things that Gowther still showed him, so why not his father's death? Tristan is not stupid, with every avoided story, he realized that there's something more to it, there's something about how his father died that everyone is trying to keep from him.
(Okay, now I want to write THAT story too. Tristan's search for the truth about his father's death over the years, with a lot of focus on Zeldris' relationships with Tristan and Meliodas too. Because if anyone is going to stop treating him like a child it's Zeldris, if anyone is going to understand what it's like to never get to have a real relationship with Meliodas, it's Zeldris).
Now, about Zeldris. Like I said earlier, he doesn't need much convincing once the news about Tristan reaches them. He doesn't really want to be around Elizabeth (even if she did help him kill her own mother) or the remaining Seven Deadly Sins, but Tristan's his family. He's Meliodas' son. To Zeldris, as well, he's the last piece of Meliodas still alive in this world. And Zeldris needs him to know that he has an uncle, that his father had a family too. He wants Tristan to know about demons and see the beauty in those powers too. Most of all, he doesn't want Tristan to be ashed of his father's genes, he wants him to have the childhood and the family that both he and Meliodas were robbed of. That's what Meliodas would have wanted to. Zeldris might never have gotten to make up with his brother, to forgive him or even talk about everything they said or didn't say - he never got to have a relationship with his brother, but he can have one with his nephew. Zeldris visits Tristan as often as his own duties allow. As he grows older, Tristan sometimes visits him in the Demon Realm too. When Zeldris is in Liones he tries his best to avoid Elizabeth and anyone else of Meliodas' friends. Their relationship is still bad, but they all do their best to keep the bad blood hidden from Tristan - he still notices things. They all just want to make right by Meliodas.
At first, Zeldris is one of the only people who won't talk about Meliodas with Tristan. He will tell him about the Demon Realm and about demons, but never about Meliodas. Not even when Tristan asks him about him. It doesn't last. As Tristan grows older, the questions increases. Zeldris still tries to avoid the topic, even gets into arguments with Tristan about it, until eventually... Eventually Zeldris can't avoid it anymore. He's forced to confront his own relationship with Meliodas. Because Tristan actually thinks Zeldris hates how big brother, that he doesn't miss him. Zeldris has missed Meliodas since long before he actually died. After that, Zeldris starts telling Tristan about Meliodas as well. Not about his death and not about the Meliodas that Britannia knew. He tells him about the Meliodas before all that, about growing up in the Demon Realm together, about going dragon hunting. He tells him about the few moments they actually got to have as brothers, about the Meliodas that Zeldris grew up looking up to and admiring.
Yeah, Meliodas never getting the peace with Elizabeth is the most cruel part about this AU, and what I kinda wanted to focus on with the bad ending. "After all these years, their parents had won." Because that's what happened. All Meliodas ever wanted was to live in peace with Elizabeth, but he died and he wasn't coming back, and thereby it was a reality he never got. But not only that, with Tristan added to it all, it makes it worse. Because Meliodas never got to see the family he left behind and Tristan never got to meet him. Even if Tristan tried to get into the Necropolis/City of the Dead he couldn't, because he has no shared memories with Meliodas.
And with that I'm gonna shut up before I'm hit with even more fic ideas (I already have sooo many - I mean I love it, I love writing them, but also ahhh)

OK so I have off hand mentioned Leoma and Alden a few times? on this account over the years since I first got into NNT, so I'm finally sitting down and writing out just a shit tone of their lore and yes it has to be both of them because I watched YuGiOh as a 15 year old and it frankly warped me as a person as well as how I make characters.
So to start, we gotta go back. Back 3000 years before SDS, back before the Holy War, back before Elizabeth and Meliodas had even met, and down to the mountain range that separates the "Modern" location of Camelot from the rest of Britannia.
There once was a mountain, flush with metals and gems of all kinds deep within and below. The village atop the mountain was inhabited by metal workers and jewelers who regularly traded with all others across Britannia. Their weapons were said to be made by the best Smiths in the world, their jewelry said to be finer and more intricate than any other. Their very lives were said to be so ingrained with the metals and gems of their home that their eyes were the color of the precious metals they mined and created with, their hair the color of the gems they painstakingly shaped and polished.
In this village, a Blacksmith by the name of Gormen was known well for his ability to enchant his works as he made them, filling them with magic that was stronger than most enchantments added to already finished pieces. His wife passed young, leaving him alone with their young daughter.
She had vibrant sapphire blue hair and eyes the shade of polished silver. She was spunky and energetic, eagerly racing about with the other children to wrestle in the dirt but just as eager to help her father in the forge even from a young age.
Leoma was known throughout the village for energetic nature, but more so for how she took after her father. She was young when her magic manifested, only 8 year old, helping her father with a piece of armor when she embedded it with a low level heat resistance. The plate was warped from suddenly refusing to shape but was proudly displayed on the mantle as the moment of importance.
Over the years, members of the Goddess clan would visit just as any other clan, fascinated by the advancement of these not-quite human people. One in particular, a promising Divine Lance Corporal by the name of Alden, had a fascination not only with the creations from the mountain, but with the people. Their use of magic to enhance their creations, not just the weapons and armor, but the jewelry and other non-combat related trinkets was captivating and she eagerly explored every shop and forge to see it all for herself at every chance she could.
Leoma and Alden's paths crossed often, enough so that Leoma eventually convinced Alden to teach her to wield a sword. They become good friends and Leoma often expresses her wish to see Britannia with Alden, something the young Goddess was happy to promise to do one day.
But as the Holy War drew in and eventually overtook Britannia, the peaceful mountain would not stand for long.
The Demon army would overtake the resource heavy mountain and plunder it for all it was worth. Alden would arrive just too late with others of her kind, horrified at the carnage and the rubble that remained of both the village and its mountain.
The survivors were few and far between, and Leoma's father was one of the casualties. Alden, deeply horrified by the grief of her dear friend's loss. brings her to Celestial Realm and pleads with the Supreme Deity to help her friend in some way.
"She will become a warrior." The Deity says. "She will be one of us." Leoma is granted special powers, the ability to manipulate light itself into swords, armor and even wings. No longer quite Human, nor quite Goddess.
The two join the Holy War, Leoma only 15 years old, and are appointed to fight at Princess Elizabeth's side and act as her guards. They become close over their time together, since Leoma and Alden accompany Elizabeth everywhere and the Princess finds their willingness to follow her wherever and keep whatever secret outings she may go on quiet.
During their time fighting at the Princess's side, Leoma and Alden would meet Mael and become friendly with him. While he may have hoped their influence could help him become closer to Elizabeth, it would easily become a secondary thought as the two younger fighters clearly looked up to him in the way he looked up to Ludociel his whole life. He gladly helps them to train in their spare moments together and finds himself a bit more attached to their eager smiles and easy adoration of him both in combat and in normal moments than he'd anticipated.
Leoma is the first to slip, to call him "brother" during a conversation. And at first its a flustered panic, both freaking out and apologizing before he'd even registered what was said, and they're gone before he can answer. But when he finds them again, the conversation makes it obvious the two had thought the same thing of him for some time. They'd both been too embarrassed to say anything, choosing to keep their mouths shut and leave it as it was. But he finds it all far too endearing. He'd been "Little Mael" for so long, even to the Princess who held his affections all this time, that having these two bright eyed young warriors regard him as someone to look up to that way?
He could hardly stop himself from bragging about it to Ludociel not 20 minutes later.
They're both on edge when Meliodas comes into the picture. The Princess's secret outings to met with him are fussed over, neither Leoma or Alden trusting the Demon Prince. But as the fighting wears on and the Prince proves himself a true ally, they begin to let it slide.
And then Leoma takes a hit.
It's just a normal battle for them, Leoma and Alden providing cover for Elizabeth and Meliodas, the couple wreaking havoc on the attacking Demon army when one gets a lucky shot. Leoma goes down, a near fatal blow combined with some poison that seemed impossible to deal with.
In a panic, Alden uses Possession to hold the poison and injury at bay with her own power from within Leoma's body. Leoma's hair and eyes lose their vibrant colors, her hair becoming white and her eyes becoming golden and branded with the insignia of the Goddess. Surprisingly, the two are able to remain independently conscious. They return with Elizabeth to the Celestial Realm to beg the Supreme Deity to fix Leoma, but are met with an uncertainty.
It's unclear if Leoma can be healed, because of the way she had become with the blessing of the Deity. Holy magic should work, but if it was going to, Elizabeth or Alden would have already healed her. And yet, she remained in a limbo of Life and Death, Alden's own interference the only thing holding Leoma to Life at all.
They hardly know what to do with themselves from there. They don't even get the chance to see Mael before Elizabeth and Meliodas are inflicted with their hellish curses and the Coffin of Eternal Darkness is sealed. All the other Goddesses lose their physical forms, Leoma and Alden only able to remain corporeal for the fact that Leoma's body is still that of non-Goddess, thus they survive that which takes their fellow clan members' physical forms.
At first, they follow Meliodas, as lost in this newly changed world as the once fearsome Demon Prince is without their Princess. And for a few of her reincarnations, they stay close by. Desperate for something, anything, to hold onto now that they've lost everything they've ever known. Meliodas is the only one they can lean on, and they're all he has in this world where the love of his life comes and goes far too frequently to ground him for long.
But it hurts, and there's something about watching how Meliodas seems to always been on the precipice of going mad with each death they can't stand to watch. They leave the Demon to his endless cycle of love and loss, crossing paths with him just often enough to be sure he hasn't gone completely off the deep end.
It weighs on Leoma as well, the length of this endless lifetime. They aren't cursed the way Meliodas is, and Leoma was still some kind of human. To save her friend's mind from the same damage Meliodas is undergoing, Alden begins to seal Leoma's memories away. This body will live on and remain at the vaguely young age it had been since being blessed, so long as Alden can supply it Holy Magic, and she intends to until they can find a cure for her afflictions that even the Supreme Deity couldn't fix.
So they wander Britannia, Leoma's memories hidden away every few decades to prevent madness from warping her mind and Alden occasionally guiding them to Meliodas to be sure he hasn't been lost to this grief and endless loop.
The last time they see him is in Danafor. Liz is a spitfire for sure, and Leoma immediately adores her, they get along like a house on fire and Alden can't find it in herself to pull them away too soon. But they leave anyways, with promises to return soon enough to see Liz and Meliodas again.
Danafor is gone days later and the grief is unbearable for them both. Alden seals Leoma's memories and they make their way to Vaizel. They spend a nearly a decade there and Leoma eventually takes the title as Champion of the Tournament and holds onto it for a few years. They leave again for a while, to see how things are in the rest of Britannia, but return in time for the Fight Festival the Sins arrive for.
Leoma enters the Tournament, claiming to Taizoo that's she returned for her title that he'd "been holding onto for me". She actually ends up pushing King out of the running by literally pushing him to the ground when he's floating above it at the end of the preliminary round.
The fight with Cain is one she wins, his Blaze power a bit overwhelming when she cannot use her summon swords, but the fighting skills she's gained over the last 3000 years are more than enough to put her close enough to simply pick up the old man and put him down outside the ring. There's some complaints that she "disrespected" the old man, but she ignores them with a word that she'd "rather not accidentally kill the geezer."
The fight with "Meliodaz" is one Alden appears for, asking him if there's a reason he's here and where "the only person we both care about" is. He assures her Elizabeth is fine and asks if they'll actually be fighting. Alden replies that no, she happens to like this town too much to deal with what would happen if the two of them were to fight, even holding back, and leaves the ring. There's general displeasure from the crowd, but Alden simply joins the Sins where they're gathered and waits.
Leoma's memory is still spotty, not recognizing Meliodas but having some vauge recollection of Elizabeth, but passes it off as "you just seem familiar". Leoma also noticeably seems a bit flustered around Ban at first, but it quickly disappears as they two of them become drinking buddies.
Alden occasionally takes over Leoma's body to talk with Meliodas, usually to scold him in some regard, but also to get caught up on what's happened since Danafor and let him know what they'd been up to.
It's unclear for a bit whether Leoma is aware of Alden's existence with her memories sealed away, but during the fighting against the New Generation of Liones Holy Knights, the two work together to use Leoma's abilities and Alden's Holy Magic to defeat the hybridized Knights.
Frankly, they both just kinda vibe until after all the fighting calms down in Liones and Merlin settles in for a bit. Alden confronts said Sorceress and asks if she can fix the situation she and Leoma have been in for the last 3000 years. And of course, Ms Deus Ex Machina absolutely can! In fact, she can even help with the body thing too, since Alden's spent so much of her magical energy keeping Leoma alive that she can't even revive her own corporeal form.
So, thanks to Merlin and probably some help from Gowther, Alden and Leoma are returned to being two physically separate beings and Leoma's body is even healed from the mystery poison.
Later, during the time of everyone training with the Druids, Alden and Leoma are able to return Leoma's memories to her, albeit slowly and instead of training like everyone else. This is about when Leoma first meets Arthur Pendragon and they're both noticeably a bit awkward and unsure how they're supposed to talk to each other. Arthur speaks formally and Leoma, who's never done that for anyone but The Supreme Deity, struggles to do the same. It's second hand embarrassment for everyone around them the whole time.
My memory for most of the plot I had for Leoma and Alden is vauge for a while, mostly because I haven't re-watched SDS in a good while, but the maze fight arc comes and goes and Leoma and Alden end up splitting up in the aftermath of Meliodas' "death".
Alden stays with Elizabeth, loyally following her Princess wherever she may go.
Leoma winds up joining Arthur in Camelot, partially to return to the lands she was born in but mostly to help the resistance effort the young King has started with her experience in fighting demons during the First Holy War. The two begin getting along, the awkwardness from before vanishing. She even gets to use her innate magic to create weapons for the survivors of Camelot, which Arthur notices that she seems much happier to be in a forge than on the battlefield.
By the time of Meliodas' resurrection, Leoma and Arthur have tentative feelings forming and a friendship blooming. Enough so that they're able to fight well together, Leoma's blessing from the Supreme Deity working well to inspire the resistance effort to continue fighting.
Leoma and Alden are reunited when the Sins come to fight Zeldris and Estarossa, who neither Leoma or Alden have seen yet. They both react joyously at seeing who they believe to be a dear friend, but are confused when everyone tells them of "Estarossa, the one who killed Mael".
"But Mael is right there!" They cry, desperately trying to understand how Elizabeth and even Ludociel do not see him. "Meliodas and Zeldris don't have another sibling, that's Mael! We would never forget him!" It turns out that the blessing changing Leoma to something not quite Goddess didn't only prevent Leoma and Alden from being rendered formless at the sealing of the Coffin of Eternal Darkness, but also made them resist the original Gowther's memory altering spell. It's devastating, seeing everyone act like the man the two of them had looked up to for so long was someone else, and worse so to hear how even he believes it.
Arthur's death wrecks Leoma, out right horrified that she could only stand and watch. She's out of the fight for a bit out of grief as she'd even begun to believe in Arthur's dream of making his kingdom one where all within would be safe and happy, even if she was aware of how outlandish and childish it was and the wake up call of loss is especially painful.
They remain with the Sins throughout the remaining arcs of the Holy war, Leoma noticeably less cheerful and even becoming more snappish for a time. Alden and Elizabeth both try comforting her, but she refuses and is often around where Merlin keeps Arthur's body. Merlin does intervene once, asking why Leoma continues to stay so close to him. She can hardly explain, torn between guilt and some kind of grief she doesn't know how to explain.
Leoma and Alden remain close together with the Sins during the fighting, especially close to Elizabeth. Even if they know the Princess is capable of taking care of herself, it is still their duty to protect her, as both job bestowed upon them by the Supreme Deity as well as their own personal loyalty to the Princess.
The King of Chaos Arc begins and, the moment Arthur is shown to truly have been revived, Leoma rushes up to hug him, despite Alden's initial wary reaction. She helps Merlin calm Arthur down, going so far as to take the newly revived King's face between her hand and tell him that "lots of shit has happened but we cant explain it till you calm down"
The two help everyone explain everything that has happened since Arthur's demise, Leoma keeping his hand in hers out of worry he'll slip back into the pained state from before. Leoma remains close to Arthur through everything, even when Merlin sends the Sins and crew away, Alden trying to reach for her friend right as they're warped back to Liones.
Leoma and Alden continue to fight alongside the group against Cath Plaug, the two easily falling back into their roles of defending those making the stronger attacks.
Cath is defeated and everyone goes their seperate ways. Leoma follwos Merlin and Arthur to Camelot while Alden returns to Liones with Elizabeth and Meliodas before returning to the the Celestial realm.
Alden regains her place as a Divine Lance Corporal and serves under Mael, though they retain the friendly sibling-like relationship they had before the war.
And as for Leoma.
Well, that's gonna be for another post. Because I have a couple takes on that for different reasons.

So I watched Cursed by Light for the first time yesterday (even though I started watching sds circa 2017, I'm just late to the game🤪) and I have so many thoughts !! Might do more analysis later, but here's my initial thoughts
I NEED more Meliodas and Zeldris interactions like it is a NECESSITY
Elizabeth was so badass in this movie I love her and it made me want to see "Bloody Ellie" even more omg
On the topic of Elizabeth, I love her bc she's such a girls' girl. Like, find her a woman, and they will be besties. I mean Merlin, Diane, Elaine, Gelda, even Derieri - she's just such a girl lover !!
And it's pride month so legally, everyone has to agree with bi!Elizabeth... jk... kinda lol (honestly every single sin is queer in my head, im prohecting my queer onto all nnt char)
Cursed by Light DEFINITELY best movie like hands down
BUT I actually kinda wish that the Supreme deity plotline was part of the show rather than a one off movie
Like I want it as a season. I feel like her character had so much potential not only for cool plots and battles, not only for the resurrection of the goddess race and the problems that would cause, but also for Elizabeth's emotional and physical/power arc
Anyway I will be thinking of at least a half season to combat the SD, complete with flashback to and before the Holy War and Elizabeth defeating her mother with those famed goddess powers that the demon race was so afraid of
And of course, within this season would be lots of brother bonding, and a large amount of time set in the demon realm where we get to explore the society and world, along more with the demon bros' past as individuals and together
Meliodas atones for both his betrayal of his brother, and that of his people who he probably should have been protecting
Plus maybe some gowther (bc I love him) and original demon lore bc that would be cool

Yo imagine if instead of starting a whole Holy War for the sake of a game, the Demon King and Supreme Deity just competed to see who’s the best parent and who’s kids are better, it’s fun cuz instead of being complete assholes who use their kids as weapons, they’re just too invested in their kids lives and want them to be perfect at everything.
…the winner is Sacred Tree, every time.
this leans into the idea @vale-wright67 had where SD, DK and the Sacred Tree are triplets
Demon king with a grumpy Baby Meliodas strapped to his chest on baby sling: -that’s amazing Deity!…but do you know what’s better than one baby?
Demon king turns around to reveal a grumpy Baby Zeldris strapped to his back in another sling: TWO babies!
Supreme Deity staring at him in outrage while carrying baby Elizabeth: oh you motherfu-
(They start arguing)
Sacred Tree bouncing a whimpering Gloxinia in their arms: …well at least they aren’t destroying the world this time.

Sacred Tree Personified/Godly Triplets AU. The God in question, because I should hope you know the other two by now:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, huge props to @bestjeanistmonster for their amazing art, I love you.
The first memory of the strange person Meliodas has is when he's just barely a toddler and they lean over into his nest to ruffle his hair and coo at him while his father stands by the door.
He remembers being absolutely baffled, when he's a little bit older, peaking into the throne room. The strange person is there again, gripping his father's ear and scolding him, and somehow NOT being slaughtered on the spot. He was too in shock to even understand WHAT he's being scolded for!
Over the years, they show up, and honestly, they are the most mysterious person in Meliodas’s life, no competition. They're certainly not a demon, but not quite like anything else either. Near as he can figure, they're SOME kind of God, because the only one with an aura similar to them is the Demon King. They only visit about twice a decade, but whenever they do come, they always give him some sort of gift.
When his brother is born, he receives gifts as well. Meliodas was holding the infant, just a day after his birth, endlessly fascinated with the newborn. Then they entered the nursery. "Hello, Meliodas." They said with a smile, the thin branches, stiff vines more than anything, growing off their wings rustling slightly. Meliodas stared at them for a moment, that same blank, soul penetrating stare he always has, before finally speaking. "Hello."
Their smile widens a little, pleased. Meliodas doesn't always speak to them, so they're always happy when he does. "Have you decided on a name for your brother yet? I know your father told you to decide."
Meliodas stared at him for another beat, before looking down at the bundle in his arms and pulling the blanket back a little. The baby squirms and waves his little arms weakly. "...Zeldris."
"A lovely pick. It's fitting, I think. May I see him?" He hesitates now. While this mystery has never been anything but kind to him, kinder than his own father by far, he still- he doesn't- he can't-
They see his struggle and their smile turns a little amused. "I promise I won't hurt him, young demigod. But you do not have to let me hold him, if you find yourself unable to let go. I understand the instincts of your people may not let you." Meliodas sagged, barely perceptible, but relieved he did not have to try to find the words to explain himself, and they chuckled.
He pulled Zeldris away from his chest, just a little, and had to fight himself not to pull him right back when the baby whined. They kneeled next to him, as they were quite tall, even shrunk as they were. (Yes, shrunk, he remembers once when his father had been at his godly height, and the mystery person had matched him, further solidifying the theory they were a God themselves.) Zeldris blinked open his eyes, green, just like his brothers, and stared at them. His little hands grasped onto one of the vines and they smiled, giving a little more to him. "Hello, little one." He gently caressed the side of his face with his finger tips, Zeldris remaining enamored with the vine. They leaned forward and kissed his forehead gently, a small glow filling the space as a golden pollen soaked into his skin. Zeldris watched it fall with wide eyes, and sneezed as a little landed on his nose. Meliodas tensed, and they patted his shoulder gently. "Don't worry, I simply blessed him, just as I did with you when you were born." Meliodas seemed hesitant, but accepted it with a small nod.
They left after that, but Meliodas knew without a doubt he'd see them again. He was right, of course.
Years pass, and eventually, he joins Stigma. His arrival is met with immediate backlash, but well. At least he has Elizabeth. The next day, he's lounging against a tree, trying to pretend he can't hear the distusted murmurs around him. He does hear them go quiet, and if he'd been anyone else, he probably wouldn't have heard the light footsteps over the grass. But he did, opening his eyes in time to see a familiar face, the mystery person leaning over him with sparkling eyes. "Hello, Meliodas."
He blinks, surprised. "It's you..." They nod. "Indeed. I see you've left the Demon Clan. Your brother...?" Meliodas looked pained and curled up a little. "I... left him behind..."
"Hm. Well, if it makes you feel better, I'll be checking up on him every now and then, just as I always have." They ruffled his hair, and Meliodas smiled. It was a tiny thing, but it was there. "Thank you."
"Of course."
They pulled Meliodas up and they began walking together. Elizabeth came looking for them and, as soon as Meliodas saw her, he perked up and took her hand. Sacred Tree smiled at them. "Your union is a bit of an odd one, especially considering your heritage. But if it makes you happy, then I suppose it's alright."
A few things should be noted. ONE: despite how smart Meliodas is, he can tend to be a bit oblivious. That they are the Sacred Tree? Never occurs to him. He still associates them with the Demon Realm, because up until very recently, that's the only place he'd ever known them. TWO: Elizabeth has, by now, figured out that her childhood visitor is the Sacred Tree. Doesn't know why, but accepts it, and assumes Meliodas knows as well, because he never seems confused or asks questions. THREE: The Sacred Tree has been led to believe by their siblings that the two are well aware that their parents are triplets, and know exactly who Tree is as well. Their comment on their heritage was less about their clans (which isn't a big deal to them anyways) and more about their parents. So they don't say anything to them about it, because as far as they know, the kids know.
They do not.
When they end up being cursed, the Sacred Tree is busy tending to Gerheade, and loses track of them, Gloxinia dropping off the map before they can assure him his sister will be alright. The entire Fairy Clan are their children, as they created them, but Gerheade and Gloxinia? Especially so.
They dont see either of them again for years, and it worries them to no end. Are they dead? Hurt? Worse?? They don't know where their son is either!
Unfortunately, they're far too weak to go looking for them. When the forest was destroyed, their vessel was as well. Their people try their best to look after their God as they search for a new home. The leaves on their wings are brown and withered, the branches brittle, and stretches are tattered. Their skin is pale, and it takes everything they have to form a seed and hold it against their chest as they're carried. They hold the goblet as well. The fountain of youth is, after all, their lifeblood, and that it is still here is the only reason they are able to cling to this physical form. They hate to burden their people, but they have no choice. Gerheade steps up to lead them.
Meliodas, meanwhile, mourns the loss of Elizabeth, her absence is far worse than that of a limb, he would know. He wanders, and what tiny shred of hope he has left of finding someone, ANYONE familiar vanishes when he goes to the Fairy Kings forest and finds nothing but ash. As far as he knows, the entire Fairy Clan is gone for good.
Then oh shadows, oh stars, she's back, and he doesn't understand how, but he's not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, not now, not with this miracle.
He should have. Because the pain from losing her, from knowing he'll lose her again, from having his soul torn in two as his mate is ripped from him, only to know they are trapped in a Neverending loop were her presence will mend him, make him whole, then tear him apart again... he doesn't know what words to use to describe it. It's worse than agony, far worse. Even torture pales in comparison, he KNOWS torture, has experienced it over and over as punishment at the hands of his father, in STIGMA, despite his lovers protection... this is so so much WORSE.
He doesn't know what to do now. He can only sob at first, kneeled at her grave for awhile, before eventually dragging himself to his feet and walking. Just walking. No aim or direction or goal. It takes a few months, but he ends up overlooking a forest. A forest that is especially rich in magic.
His eyes widen as he realizes, and he stumbles into it. Gloxinia, Gerheade, maybe even THEM! They might all be here! He barely manages to stop in time to avoid a pointed spear tip at his throat, and stares at it, a detached sort of startled. (Everything is detached, even in his excitement, he's still... not all here.)
"State your name and business in my forest!"
He blinks. "...Your forest?" No, don't say it, please...
"I am Fairy King Dahlia. This is my forest. Who are you, and what do you want?"
Ah... Then Gloxinia... He just keeps getting hope and losing people. "...Is Gerheade here?"
"What could you possibly need with my advisory?"
So she was alive, then! "Sh-Shes an old friend of mine! My name is Meliodas! Please, I want to see her!"
"I don't buy that for one seco-"
"Meliodas!!"
He perked up as Gerheade flew towards him, coming out of the treeline. "Gerheade! You actually are still alive!" Stars, she was covered in scars, but he'd worry about that later. He was far more occupied with darting past a startled Dahlia and hugging his friend tightly. "Heavens, Mel, I've missed you dearly." He choked on a sob. "I've missed you too." He mumbles, burrowing his face into his neck.
He was FILTHY. His hair was matted and greasy, his clothes tattered and caked with dirt, and he was covered in sweat and grime. But honestly, she didn't care. She inhaled, ignoring the stench, and collected himself. "When the Sacred Tree felt your presence enter my forest, they sent me to bring you to them. Come."
He furrowed his eyebrows as she pulled him further into the forest, waving off a baffled Dahlia. Poor kid. But he's a baffled himself. What would the Sacred Tree want with him? He didn't even know it was sentient! She doesn't stop when they get there, keeping a firm hold on his hand and flying up towards the top of this new tree. He summons his wings for the first time in a while.
He glances around when the make it to the top. It's a large, flat space, with the branches curling around and over. Pressed against the back is a pink pool and a goblet from which the tinted water flows. The fountain of youth. Next to it is a familiar face, giving him a familiar smile. They're reclined on a bed of Faeries moss. "Hello, Meliodas. Thank you for retrieving him, Gerheade."
It clicks. (Finally.)
"...You're the Sacred Tree..."
They blinked. "Yes?"
"You're the Sacred Tree!"
"Yes??"
"Oh fuck, that- Things make so much SENSE now, I- of COURSE, I'd always figured you were a god, but I didn't know WHO-"
"You didn't know- Didn't my brother tell you, he said he did??"
"Your brother??"
"The Demon King, your father!"
"MY FATHER IS YOUR BROTHER??"
"Yes!! I thought you knew all this!!"
"No!! I didn't even know your NAME!!"
"How?? I've known you since you were two days old!!"
"I just always called you mystery person!"
They stared at each other, before the Sacred Tree chuckled quietly. "Oh, just- come here, young one." Meliodas hesitated. They were used to him hesitating, but this felt different, and he had a feeling he knew why. Just before the seal was put in place, they'd managed to reach out to his siblings, and though they were cryptic with the whereabouts of their children, they managed to gather it wasn't good. Their nephew was unlikely to have ANY positive connotations towards the gods right now. So they'd be patient.
Meliodas did come over, warily, and stopped next to him. They grasped his hands and looked into his eyes, gold meeting green. "I do not know the details of what has happened to you and Elizabeth, but I know it cannot be pretty. Are you willing to share with me? I can try my best to help, though I am in a weakened state right now."
He stared for a moment, then his lip wobbled and tears sprung up into his eyes. A sob bubbled out of his throat and when they gently pulled him into a hug, he did not resist once, so they pulled him into their lap and cradled him while he cried hysterically, clinging onto them.
He trusted them, he did. The other two gods, they were vile and cruel and he hated them, but this god... this God looked out for him, brought him gifts and, when it came down to it, gave him a shoulder to cry on.
As he cried, he stuttered out an explanation for the curses upon him and Elizabeth. The Sacred Tree was horrified, BEYOND horrified. "I'm so sorry, young one, so sorry. If I had the strength to break it, I would in a second, but after losing my true form and having to reform it from but a seed, It is all I can do to maintain this manifestation that holds you. It could be decades before I am able to even attempt it. My siblings have grown cruel and hateful, yet I still cant believe theyd curse their own children, just the thought of harming my offspring pains me."
Meliodas just hiccupped and rubbed his face into their chest as they ran a hand up and down their back.
Later, he asks for elaboration on the whole sibling thing and the Sacred Tree explains that the three gods are, in fact, triplets. Meliodas is very conflicted to discover Elizabeth is technically his cousin because on one hand EW, NO, WHY WHY WHY, but also... Elizabeth. They're sympathetic to his plight and explains that, even so, they're not technically blood related, because the gods do not pass down their genetic material. Instead, they pass on their magic and divinity. Gods do not HAVE genetics the way that mortals do. That does make Meliodas feel a little bit better.
Weeks passed, and Meliodas began to feel nervous. This forest and its people were a bit more welcoming to him, without the hostility of Stigma, but he could also tell many faeries were anxious for him to leave. He tentatively brought up his concerns to the Sacred Tree (whom he'd taken to calling Bibi.
"Meliodas, you are always ALWAYS welcome in my forest. The invitation stands forever."
"Thank you, Bibi. But I still... I need... I have to..."
"I understand. Go find Elizabeth. Return whenever you wish."
They hugged farewell, and he damn near strangled Gerheade in a hug too. (Dahlia was still wary of this strange man his older sister and his Dama were so fond of.) And he left. He would be back, later. But for now, we'll. He had to learn to live with his curse, to protect Elizabeth.

So you’re telling me the last story of NNT is basically the Supreme Deity appearing again and on the other side the second fairy king Dahlia and the famous giant Dabuzu lead an army of giants and fairies to attack in the middle of the wedding ceremony of the current Fairy King and Giant Queen...
