when i saw the original post i knew i had to give it a try, i tried to keep some of the smaller design elements such as the eyes and obviously the larger ones like the outfit, while using a slightly different angle and pose [i hope thats okay] and going for more early hellblazer fluffier hair. im so happy with how this ended up!

this work is inspired by @finalgirljasontodd​ ‘s amazing fic household autopsy , more specifically the line:

“And as they curl up against Gotham’s sodden ribs, she realises he’s as familiar with this way of living as she is. They both know how to pick at a city’s carcass”

under the cut is the progress and some ramblings and other pieces also inspired by the fic

so this was my starting point, this was more of the quote “ this sodden corner of the east coast weeps like nothing else she’s seen” and “They delve deep into the city’s guts, into the damp spaces where the bitumen wrinkles under layers of garbage like a macerated wound”

unfortunatly while im v happy with the ribs its hard drawing a skeleton in a pose when you start from a person, so authough i tryed to do the arms they dident look right,  i may continue this piece because i rely love it but im unsure how to right now

i ended up cropping it, drawing the scull and adding more decaying muscles, but i preferd the compasition of the original

i tried to add jason and cass but they dident fit

here is the rough of the piece i finished, i had some worries about how simple i made this piece, as i did little shading or colour, but i have come to appreciate the simplicity, as it is a visually and computationally complex piece.

i also had technical issues, my tablet, while not deleting things, was ejecting me from the program every couple of minuets, but luckily i managed to do the lineart.

overall im v happy with the final piece and have been reminded how mutch i love drawing bone! so expect more skeletons! im also v happy with how i feel cass n jason are recognisable, even tho there v simply drawn

Because I've been listing to Florence + the Machine non stop and they have amazing album covers 🌹

Roses<3 so red and green are her colours, and roses her flowers, but i swapped the night sky and moon for daylight and a sun, to reflect Elenas aspirations & her more joy seeking attitude- and similar with the plants, still roses, but now dethorned and protecting her as well as reaching out and for the skys.
