Ficlet - A Time of Wanting

I've had some writer's block recently and have been making super slow progress with my wips. Then I saw these lovely kiss drawings by @mrghostrat and ended up being very inspired and writing not one but two new stories. The other is below if you're interested:

Thank you so much Bilvy for making such lovely artwork! (Also their Good Omens AUs are incredible, if you haven't read them I highly recommend them!) This is a ficlet inspired by the fifth kiss in the collage (this one). It's basically Crowley being silly and soft. (Set post an imaginary season 3 where they've saved the world and are talking again.)

A Time of Wanting

Crowley wants.

He wants so badly and he's wanted for so long that it's a physical ache in his chest now.

He wonders how he's not broken in half with the sheer force of his wanting. He wonders how Aziraphale doesn't notice how much he wants. Surely it should be a tangible thing now, this longing that pulses through him every moment of his existence. This urge to reach out, to touch, to take.

But it seems it isn't, because Aziraphale is busy reshelving books, apparently oblivious to the demon sprawled out over the couch. He hasn't even noticed that Crowley has woken from the nap he was taking, hasn't noticed that Crowley feels as if he could shake apart with the sheer force of his emotions.

How has he survived this long without taking this silly fussy angel for his own? How has he survived without knowing his touch, his taste, the way the angel might look at him if he finally dared to do what he longed to do?

His sleep addled brain tries to imagine what those things would be like, it's nothing he hasn't imagined a million times before, again and again over thousands of years. This time though the images his mind conjures are so affecting, so very real, that they draw a whimper from Crowley's throat before he can stifle it, before he can push it down where it belongs so that he can get through another day of wanting.

Aziraphale obviously hears the noise because he turns, despite being atop the small chair ladder he uses to reach the high shelves, balancing precariously with one hand on the shelf as he looks over at Crowley and gives him a soft smile.

It's that smile that does it.

All at once Crowley's entire brain comes back online and suddenly what he thought were his own wild imaginings coalesce into memories. Actual memories. And he realises that he doesn't need to lie here and want without taking anymore. And that ache in his chest isn't his heart about to break apart, but merely where he's fallen asleep with his mobile phone jammed against his ribs.

Fuck he's an idiot.

He flails madly for a moment whilst his brain remembers how to control overly long limbs, and barely hears the clatter as the phone falls to the floor unheeded, but then he's on his feet, bounding across the bookshop.

“Angel.” The word falls from his lips almost reverently as he crosses the space and Aziraphale seems to recognise that there's something amiss, even if he probably doesn't realise just how stupid Crowley can be sometimes.

How could he have forgotten? Six thousand years of longing, and now he can have whenever he wants and his stupid brain can't seem to hold onto that fact.

By the time Crowley has closed the distance between them Aziraphale is on the lowest step of the chair ladder. Crowley slips his arms around his angel's waist, fully intending to bury his head in the softness of Aziraphale's shoulder but instead the movement is arrested by Aziraphale's hands. They come up to rest either side of his jaw, holding him gently, yet firmly in place.

“Crowley. Darling,” says Aziraphale, his tone impossibly fond and yet with that underlying hint of strength, as he searches Crowley’s face with eyes that don't even bother trying to hide their adoration.

And now there is an ache inside Crowley’s chest that's nothing to do with sleeping awkwardly smushed against his phone. This ache is his heart trying to contain too many feelings, too much love. It feels like it's bursting with it.

“Angel.” He breathes out the word softly, as if saying it again might somehow help.

Aziraphale smiles and pulls him closer, one hand slipping from his jaw to wrap around his head, whilst the fingers of the other hand press lightly, tilting his face upwards with a gentle insistence that thrills Crowley to his core.

“You silly thing,” Aziraphale says, as if he knows exactly how daft Crowley was being a minute ago. Crowley thinks he should probably object to that. Snap back a sarcastic comment to the patronising bastard of an angel that knows him far too well, that sees the vulnerability under his carefully crafted exterior.

But then Aziraphale’s lips are on his and all protests fizzle away before they've even made it to his throat.

This is what he has wanted for so long. This is his now. He can ask for this whenever he wants.

He shuffles forward, tightening his arms to mould their bodies closer together, mindful not to pull Aziraphale from his precarious perch. The kiss deepens just slightly and he feels Aziraphale's fingers dancing over his cheek as the angel tightens his hold on Crowley’s head.

There's a soft whimper and then an equally soft moan and Crowley is surprised to realise he isn't responsible for either noise. For a second he flutters his eyes open and focuses on the expression that’s crept across Aziraphale's features. It's open and vulnerable, filled with adoration and love and contentment, as if this is the one thing Aziraphale has always longed for and wants to keep forever.

The realisation, that this means as much to Aziraphale as it does to him, makes Crowley’s heart swell with emotion, even as the ache in his chest is dispelled, dissolving away into a warm fuzziness that seems to wrap around them both.

He lets his eyes drop closed again and leans a little more into the kiss. There’s a hum of contentment and this time he knows it's come from him.

He wanted for so long and now finally he’s exactly where he wants to be.

hi this is kind of random but. ive seen a few posts so far from people in the fandom expressing they don't like/aren't interested in mikayuu anymore and i was curious if you knew why? it's been like a long time since i was into ons (like 2018? 😭) so im pretty out of the loop and was wondering if smth crazy happened ig lol 😭

I'm more of a recent addition to the fandom (watched/read ons for the 1st time in 2021 lol) but here's what I observed I think (not sure if you've read the manga but just in case huge spoiler warning)(also I may or may not be biased against them since my favs are the vampires and shinoa squad without mikayuu lol):

- there is just too much of them. Obviously they're the main characters but ons always had a colorful cast of characters and a lot of them (mainly Shinoa squad tbh) were sidelined during the shibuya arc and basically turned into cardboard cutouts that shout "Yuu!" every few chapters. Though they did get their personalities back in ch 133, it took way too long imo.

- Mikayuu barley changed as people and their relationship stayed basically the same. Once they reunited and Mika 'joined' Shinoa squad their relationship dynamic could be boiled down to: Yuu is kinda stupid and wants to do smth bc fAmLIy or whatever, Mika disagrees, Yuu does the equivalent of puppy dog eyes, Mika begrudgingly agrees, Yuu gets what he wants with minimal consequenz. After a while it's just not interesting to have the main character constantly winning. Heck, Mika's 'death' and demon transformation barley did anything in the long run.

Like at one point, it got brought up that Mika is losing his emotions for everything except Yuu, which was a pretty interesting idea and could have brought conflict into their realtionship. But a few weeks later (in-story, took a few years irl lol) Mika gets turned into a demon, regains his emotions and the former conflict is left in the dust.

Now with Mika as a demon, he lost all of his agency. He is literally stuck to Yuu and the most he can do against him is refuse to give him power but Yuu can just force it out of him so. Pretty fucked.

After they split off from the main group post Shibuya arc, they once again have an inkling of a conflict.

For context, they split off bc Yuu had to either choose between resurrecting humanity or only Mika (at least that's how Guren phrased it). Yuu's gayass chose Mika and at first they had an argument bc Mika doesn't value his life and would rather have everyone revived at his expense. Yuu goes 'nuh-uh' and makes a run for it, devoures Asuramaru/Ashera in the process.

Once they've run off, Mika confornts Yuu and shouts at him, saying he should have a happy life with his human family instead of Mika. Yuu once again goes "nuh-uh" and decides to revive all of humanity, Mika included.

- They restate their goal, plans and whatnot too much. Ons is a monthly manga with ~35 pages per chapter. In Mikayuu centric chapters, almost half (if not all) are wasted on restating the goals they've stated LAST FUCKING CHAPTER. Maybe Kagami doesn't trust the readers memory but man, you didn't do this before, did you? Why now all of a sudden? There's plenty of plot to get through, we can reread old chapters if we forget something.

There's also way too much goofing around. Obviously down-time is needed in any action packed series but we've gotten so much random cut-ins of Yuu needing food in what are supposed to be tense moments. Also we do not need an entire chapter of them hunting, eating and talking about their plans and others plans.

This is all I remembered off the top of my head, anyone feel free to add more

not proofread, i'm recovering from finals and those two ot7 photos from today 😭 but just wanted a little birthday snippet for my girl

the live starts with her smiling and checking herself in the camera

"give me a minute, guys, then i'll start"

she hums an unfamiliar tune for a few minutes before she puts on a smile

"hi, guys! long time no see on weverse, huh?"

bestie you've been on here constantly

"i know" she laughs "i meant on live. i know i said i was on hiatus until i graduate, but i thought it would be nice to come on here and celebrate my birthday with you guys, even just for a bit"

she silently reads through the comments, greeting hi to a few different comments in different languages

a small shake of the camera made her let out a small laugh while she hit someone off camera

why are you in a car?

"well, i'm on the way home because i spent the day with the tannies. kookie oppa is driving, and jiminie oppa is holding the camera for me. we're gonna have a midnight dinner at my place. maybe i should play midnight rain"

she turns the camera to the two sides, showing off a driving jungkook and a wrapped up jimin.

"you are not playing a sentimental song when we should be celebrating," jungkook gave her a quick look before turning back to the road

"i believe our aegi deserves a happy greeting song," jimin coos before starting to sing. "even if she is now considered an adult all over the world."

jimin and jungkook started singing happy birthday, both going extra and making riffs while she just laughed and covered her face in amusement. they finished one round of the happy birthday song in korean then one in english then again in korean

jungkook held up a finger in front of her, which she blew. he quickly folded it over, imitating a candle going out

you look tired. are you okay?

"i'm fine," she smiled, "finals just ended, and today was quite emotionally draining. for now, i'm on break and get to watch my friends perform"

she sat back a little, probably remembering the different stages she's watched from home recently rather than from in the venue like she was used to in the past how many years

how was txt in manila?

"how did you guys know i was there?"

jimin laughed off camera. yoonmi looked over at something, probably jimin showing her something on his phone. she chuckled and shook her head while grabbing the phone from him and showing it on camera"

"remind me to put this on my instagram story"

there were four photos. first was a selfie she was taking while seri and beomgyu squished their cheeks to hers. second was one of her laughing at yeonjun who had her in a headlock. third was her doing a "chic model" pose with the soobin and the maknaes. fourth was a decent photo of all seven of them, the last photo being them with the banners from the manila concert. the caption read "happy birthday to the most supportive sunbae who flew to her hometown for our last stop on tour. txt's honorary 7th member, happy birthday!"

"you guys should have tweeted this and tagged the bangtan account," she laughed, "but thank you. i love you guys. as for the concert, it was amazing, of course. txt are amazing performers, and they've grown so much. i honestly can't wait to see the distances they'll reach with how talented they are. and, before you ask, i have an nda that keeps me from spoiling anything about their comeback"

"apparently that doesn't work for bangtan content," jungkook snorted.

she leans back with a sheepish smile on her face "i'm not technically under an nda for bangtan things, they just trust me"

"more like they trust us to keep you from spoiling," jungkook shot back playfully

"yeah, yeah, don't start, it's my birthday"

do you have a birthday wish?

"i got part of what i wanted," she smiled. "i spent the day with the tannies, and i'm about to have a midnight dinner with the oppas, my brother, and his family. i just kinda wish i could see channie oppa and our family. my boyfriend... i really want to see mark oppa, too, but we haven't seen each other recently because we've both been busy"

her fingers lightly tugged at her hair while she spoke

"it's just been kinda... bittersweet? yeah today's been strange, but i'm glad i get to spend time with people i love. you guys included, of course!"

she laughs to herself "gosh, i've gotten so bad at lives"

a hand reaches into frame, stopping her own from tugging her hair. she smiles down and squeezes at it, smiling at the side jimin was sitting on in thanks for comforting her

yoongi marry me

she bursts into giggles while jimin and jungkook are just laughing. it takes a good few minutes for them to calm down before she speaks

"i'll be sure to pass the message on"

the members' greetings for you were so cute!

you really are still bangtan's baby

she looks up at jungkook and jimin "yeah, it was pretty sweet. i just didn't think they were doing anything specific these past few weeks when they kept telling me to pose certain ways with them. how they came up with recreating our first photos together, i don't know. i cried, but when do i not cry?"

jungkook's voice cut in "you should have seen her, it was like someone played the saddest video on earth"

there was a smack and jungkook crying out in pain. yoonmi laughed while some bickering played out in front of her of jimin telling jungkook to stop picking on yoonmi while jungkook justified that that's how their friendship works

"this is what i deal with on a daily basis" she pretended to roll her eyes "this is my reality, guys"

if you had the chance to teleport and pause time today for as long as you want and choose who to unfreeze with you, what would you do?

"i'd visit channie oppa and my family," she smiles to herself, "i'd ask for a lazy day with them because i know channie oppa needs to rest. then probably hang out with mark oppa. finally, i'd have all the tannie oppas with me for a nice meal. all of them. and maybe we could talk about old memories for a bit before we move on with our lives again."

"that actually sounds really nice," jimin noted. jungkook hummed in agreement.

she zoned out for a bit before a notification from her phone popped up. she read it and smiled.

"the bighit 01s are coming over for midnight dinner, too," she smiled before looking up. "we're getting pretty close, i think, so i might have to end this live here. thanks for the birthday greetings, luvs. i appreciate you all! see you when my hiatus is over, i'll be freshly graduated with some new things in store for you"

with that, she began waving at the live, moving the camera forward so if caught jimin in shot as well. he waved, too. "bye, army! take care!"

there was a shout goodbye from jungkook, making jimin and yoonmi laugh. she moves closer to the camera, crossing her eyes slightly before laughing and moving back

"thanks for spending this international legality car party with me. sorry i didn't prepare much. love you, army! see you when i see you!"

heyyy hellooo just popping in to tell you what I've been thinking about a lot recently for no reason 👉👈 you know I'm annoyed by all those blurry and crusty pictures/edits the guys have been obsessed with on this US trip, HOWEVER if they really love that filter so much, we should at least get some fogged-up kissy pictures as well 😤 and that sorta lead me to think about Olli/Allu kind of coming out as a couple by posting a mysterious picture of two guys kissing, and hear me out, because I have such a vivid image in my head: the two guys are standing sideways towards the camera and the upper halves of their heads are cropped out so it's difficult to identify them as you can't see their hair or eyes, only their mouths that are connected in a soft kiss 😭 the guy on the left (Aleksi) would be holding the other by his waist, while the one on the right side of the picture (Olli) has his hands on the other's neck/shoulders. The picture is black and white and just as frustratingly blurry and grainy as most of those pics they've posted recently, and maybe it's posted in an IG photodump or perhaps even just in a polaroid someone's holding, and neither of them address the picture in any way and the fandom (or at least the delulu folk) go nuts about it 😭

AAAAAAA 😭💞 to be honest I’ve been thinking a lot about how they’d come out 🤧 and oh my god the image you just described is so easy to imagine!! 🥺😭💞💞 (I need it now 😭)

and yeah they’d definitely just casually drop it and not address it in any way 😭 but I know that I, at least, would die and you’d never hear from me again 🤧

tl asleep lol tw vent (more of a diary entry than anything overly negative but) tw weight loss ment and talking about myself in general like narcissus staring into a pond 😭

i think the heat has ruined my moisturiser cos ive only had it for a few months and i swear it smells like glue all of a sudden?? so I smell like glue, i look weird too my haircut has made it so the bits by my ears curl really enthusiastically and im not sure if it's a good look. but I look pretty today anyhow

also have been losing a lot of weight recently cos i don't have an appetite anymore especially when it's hot like this and it's weird to actually see my body changing, i don't care either way but yeah super strange to look at my thighs/arms and notice that they've slimmed down . I WAS worried about my chest but it doesn't seem to have changed for the worse, if anything i like it more now

im not sick for once which is really cool. i AM super lonely but I don't feel up to talking to anyone either and I'm not unfair enough to bother anyone it's just like.... .... I don't want to talk but I don't want to be by myself. but I really do want to be by myself which is a stupid contradiction

in general I don't think I'm very happy right now, there's a lot of things in my life that feel too heavy and I'm not interested in carrying them around but you can't exactly put them down either. im just trying to make it to the next day often and this feels weird to admit because it's not like I'm actively telling anyone how I feel. my family are my family and i love them but i can't say any of them are interested in how im feeling, not that i blame them for that though with everything going on

it's weird because I don't feel that sad most of the time, even writing this I don't feel very upset. I guess I'm frustrated because things just don't seem to be getting any better and lately I can't even write which SUCKS. i kind of feel like im in limbo and its not fun but im not looking forward or moving on either and that's my fault

and none of this is new obviously but lately its distracting, I think because its August and summer and I'm never very well in the summer. I keep having dreams about people and things that happened and that brings it all fresh to the surface

I really think it's too hot and that's actually what's upsetting me. so I might go submerge myself in a cold bath for an hour haha. also I'm probably more upset by my shitty writing lately than im admitting to myself, it honestly feels terrible when you're not good at the one thing you're good at. and the lingering idea that im stupid like to the bone dumb gets worse when i can't write

I think it's worthless to mention the shame cycle here but that's very much ongoing too. all around, I'm really tired but things are NOT all bad. I have my family, I have this blog, I have a roof over my head and autonomy and if I can just pull myself together and start writing again I know I'm gonna feel heaps better. that's not to mention movies and music and reading im really trying to look on the bright side and get it together before October

I just realised I haven't gushed to you about part 8 yet!

Holy smokes, the angst feels like it peaks every chapter then you keep raising the bar 🥺 Steve's in particular this chapter was palpable.

It's like they've each been at a different stage of this breakup in any given moment. She's begun the breakup in devastation/despair and has moved to a place more of acceptance and forgiveness. Not that she's moving on, just kinda preparing to live with it.

Whereas Steve feels like he started off with confusion and distraction, and is only now just coming into his own devastation era. Especially towards the end of the chapter. It's gutting. I was never a Steve girl, even before season 4 and Eddie, and now I'm very confused!

They're on such different wave lengths throughout this chapter, as well as the whole story. the hope Steve has at the beginning vs her 'defeat to Nancy' and how resigned she is. The miscommunication in the 'why Nancy?' conversation, when she's thinking he has too many reasons to say why, and he's thinking that it should never have been anyone else. And them going to the party, the pain vs happiness with the hand holding. Steve still hopeful and R is preparing to let him go. It's just so sad 😭 it's reminding me of 500 days of summer, when Summer invites Tom to a party and it's expectation vs reality all being played out to a Regina Spektor song 💔 He's such an A* dumbass for having his head turned and thinking he needed to make R prove her feelings by flirting and straying away.

I'd love to see a chapter as Steve figures his relationship with Nancy out after this, especially after the dinner with R and his parents. There was a lot of internal questioning on R's side on how his parents are with Nancy compared to R, it'd be nice for us to see the difference, and also how Steve is with Nancy in private. Steve realising at some point that suddenly declaring he'll leave Nancy and go straight back to R isn't the answer, him needing to break up with Nancy but maybe work on himself first. Maybe more Steve and Eddie conversation. Their scene together was one of my favourite parts.

But for real, that final conversation was tragic. I could see it being played out like a movie in my head. His crying more as she steps away from him. Just sweep me up off the floor, I'm shattered 💔 I'm already imagining their make up sex further down the line and it'll be intense

Final thought - please don't have him lose his memory? It's such a cute idea, but he's gonna have done too good a job at fixing himself and them by the end of this, for him to just not remember it. I think it'd take away a lot of the emotional growth.

But I loved this chapter as usual and how it devastated me, such a glutton for punishment 🖤

hi!!! i’m so happy you liked it! 🥹 the angst was so fun to write, I put all my sad emotions into this one 😂

There really is so much miscommunication between them! Steve never talked about his true feelings and emotions, he always hid them because he struggled to let them all in and to talk about them and this cost him a lot, even in the recent chapter. If he approached the topic of his love for her differently, he may didn’t have to let her go but he struggled, again.

He definitely needs some time alone, just like reader needs some time to herself. They aren’t ready for new or old relationships right now.

More Steve and Eddie? Hmm maybe they should become friends somehow 👀

And omg, the makeup sex in the future will really be intense and emotional and I’m so excited to get to that chapter haha

He won’t lose his memories! I’m just playing with a lot of ideas and possibilities but I don’t want to take this route! It would definitely take away the emotional growth!

can you tell more about creating process of your ocs? do you create them with idea already? do you have a full story for all of them?

for example is matthias inspired by someone (or his story)?

also do you have an idea how your ocs sounds? how their voices are?

i’m so sorry omg that’s so many questions i’m sorry but i’m obsessed with them

don't be sorry!! i'm loving the excuse to talk about them!!!

the creative process behind my ocs... they're all very different. some ocs started with an idea of who they were from the jump (like theo), others from a mental picture of them (like delphi), and a few were from concepts i was interested in (like dionte). originally i just started with characters and then i developed stories around them. echthroi started with theo and then i added matthias (and imani by extension... they're a package deal in my head). lykos started with dionte and then i added alessandria. when i make a new oc i generally start with aesthetics, personality traits, and life events. i get into the finer details later. because of that i definitely wouldn't say they all have full backstories because some of them are far more developed. like with theo's other friends the reason they don't even have sims yet is because i still don't have a clear enough vision for them... and, like... they've been around for a while 😭

in matthias's case, he's not inspired by anyone and neither is his story. i just made a guy who would love theo no matter how much theo would fight him over it—actually, in that way i suppose his character and story are inspired by theo. i needed it to make sense for him to be so attached to theo despite how much theo evades him; that's why theo and matthias have so many similar life events and the same kind of traumas. i needed to make someone who would see and understand theo. i've definitely changed matthias a lot over the years, though. he used to be less interesting before lmao. originally, like five years ago, matthias was a nice charming guy who met theo at an event hosted by theo's family and politely hit on him. now matthias just has a veneer of charm that theo sees right through and i don't think there's a single polite thing about him other than the way he dresses.

i think the only oc's voice i've talked about on here has been matthias's over on this post. matthias was raised with polish as his first language but his accent was trained away at a very young age. still, it slips out occasionally if he's not thinking about it and it happens most often over the letter a in words. his voice is very cold and seductive. theo has a very quiet, airy voice... he doesn't sound like he's all there... i'd say his voice is sort of haunting. it's the kind of voice that makes you lean in because you want to keep listening to it and it adds to the natural magnetism he has. imani has a slightly watered down southern english accent from her parents. alessandria's voice is very husky and deep... sort of gravelly. you know that johnny cash rumble? yeah, they've got that. she growls a lot and is in wolf form frequently enough that you can hear something animalistic in their voice when they speak. delphi sounds EXACTLY like ava gardner to me like i don't need to describe it anymore than that. dionte's first language is french and his english is heavily accented as he recently emigrated. his voice isn't really deep or light, but when he speaks there's a morose quality to it that makes you just wanna hug him... ugh. nicholas is interesting because he has a very brash voice on average but when he talks to dionte he makes himself speak softer... it's very sweet. i've got nothing for sehyuk and dutchie coming to mind atm... sehyuk's first language is korean tho so i imagine his english is accented similar to how dionte's is, but not as extreme since he's been away from home for a much longer time. oh, and dutchie definitely has a southern accent too. no other thoughts on it tho... again, some ocs are a lot more fleshed out than others lmaooooo.

gonna write out my tav salvian's relationships with the guys who are currently a part of his team . for reference im in act II

wyll: salvian's partner. he's absolutely smitten with him. salvian hates asking wyll to stay at the camp for a bit but sometimes he does so so as to give wyll a break from the constant moral dilemmas. he loves dancing with wyll, which was thankfully a skill that he already possessed (though not nearly as well as wyll) so he didn't completely embarrass himself when wyll first asked to dance. salvian enjoys wyll's almost cheesy level of romantic prose and has no problem committing public displays of affection - he asks wyll for a kiss before and after every long rest. your honor they are in love

gale: salvian's closest friend. being a sorcerer, he gets into a lot of banter with the wizard, but it's always with a friendly tone and a genuine interest in what gale has to say about his magic. learning that mystra wants gale to blow himself up made salvian very distressed and he has been constantly checking in with gale about the whole issues in an attempt to dissuade him.

shadowheart: salvian's second closest friend, which he was certainly not expecting. their relationship started a bit strained, with salvian a bit concerned with over her secretive nature. however, as they've travelled together and shadowheart has opened up, salvian has grown to greatly enjoy her company. he hopes that she will make the right decisions within shar's temple, as he does not entirely trust the deity she's aligned herself with.

karlach: nothing has brought salvian greater relief than finding out karlach was not an evil demon but instead an innocent tiefling. he immediately accepted her into his party and has been travelling with her consistently since. he immediately hugged her once her engine was fixed, glad to indulge her in what she'd been missing for so long. salvian's stress about her engine, though, has created a bit of tension in their relationship as he's very scared of losing her

halsin: the two grew close together extremely quickly, despite halsin's more recent addition to the team. salvian admires halsin greatly and the sentiment seems to be returned. he particularly enjoys watching halsin turn into a bear and will try to get halsin to stay in bear form juuuust a biiiit longeerr which halsin does not seem to mind at all. (i am so scared that hes going to develop romantic feelings for salvian and ill have to turn him down 😭

lae'zel: the two have a bit of an awkward relationship, as salvian has had to turn down lae'zels advancements twice. regardless, he tries to foster a good relationship between the two of them and is trying his best to support her after the whole githyanki creche thing didn't work out. once threatened her and she was like a little too into it so now he cant do it ever again

astarion: probably the companion salvian is the least connected with, though he is trying to work on their relationship. they just tend to butt heads on the whole lawful good vs chaotic neutral(?) aspect. very supportive him nonetheless and was not at all surprised about astarion being a vampire. almost died from letting him drink his blood lol

also salvian has scratch and the owlbear and he loves both of them so much an d pets them all the time

I'M SO ANNOYED AT THIS ANON. HOW DID THEY MAKE SUCH A TRASH TAKE ON THE BEST FIC EVER WTF??! DID THEY READ PROPERLY WTF?? OR UNDERSTAND HOW LOVE, JEALOUSY, AND OTHER EMOTIONS WORK?? They sound so pathetic omg. Why did they "read" this fic and then say the worst things omg? Hollyhomburg is so much nicer than me for calmly explaining it so well in their reply.

Ooh this ask gets so long. Sorry lol. I love bily so much omg. Tempted to send this or shorter (and prob nicer lol) version of this to hollyhomburg but they haven't replied to my ask on agreeing about the "manipulative" mc thing so idk hm. (They do seem to be answering more asks recently though wow)

Thoughts on this ask and the stuff I say further down?

Tbf I misunderstood Jimin with his last secret. Update: I think I don't dislike him anymore after getting to understand how he handles self-hatred. It's so sad TT I stil think Jimin and mc need to talk about it more for Jimin's sake and have some 1-on-1 bonding to fully resolve this issue for me though. They've felt awkward and distant since Tae's secret came out imo. We get Yoongi and Tae in the next ch though yay!! Sad that not every relationship is happy and romantic rn. But it's realistic that some relationships are slower to develop than others. And hollyhomburg would prob struggle to write a bunch of relationship developments at the same time. People (including me lol) need to be patient. and trust in the love and care the pack has for each other.

And the mc being "manipulative" part is instinctual to her according to hollyhomburg. It's understandable that people feel confused or interpreted it wrongly. But mc is a precious lil baby. I don't think it's bad that she is "manipulative" by acting cute and appealing to the alpha's instincts. Both sides are happy when she's being cute and lovely. (Did I interept this right??) And she doesn't have any ulterior motives at any point of the fic imo. Hollyhomburg also said this and that most of it is just how Jimin sees it. Jimin is just a paranoid boy :/

And Yoongi is a sweet boy. And Yoongi and mc went through some TRAUMA. (the trauma and how it affects them was written so well. how can you not understand and love these 2 omg) YOONGI HAS BEEN WORKING FOR MONTHS (AND STILL IS WORKING) ON MAKING A PERFECT CUSTOM COMFY HOUSE FOR ALL OF THEM! ACTS OF SERVICE KING. And there is so much explained in the fic about these two compared to Jimin and the other boys. I will only agree that Yoongi seems distant to the other boys and it's kinda sad. But I believe that they all love and care for each other. And the relationship between Yoongi and the boys will slowly develop into a happy, loving relationship again.

Was I too harsh on this anon? (I may have gotten too emotional idk. I am very protective over irl and bily Yoongi as well as bily mc so yeah lol. Hollyhomburg wrote all of bily pack to be so precious but I love these two even more) This anon seems so dumb to totally not understand how mc and Yoongi think...Only excuse I'll give is if they don't understand abo, mating mark, polyamory, and love in fics omg... Also please don't tag this under bily and my anon tag. Feels wrong to have negativity under these tags even if this anon is totally wrong omg.

i think that maybe they haven’t grasped the fact that like real people, the characters holly has written are more than just surface level, black and white emotions like a lot of stories show— they’ve taken time to delicately craft each of their characters in BILY

i think that holly has done well with the pacing of all the relationships, and it’s come off very realistic of what a poly relationship would look like from my understanding. not everyone is gonna fall head-first into love, it’s not always going to linear and i think that this series has shown that everyone falls in love in different ways and for different reasons. that emotions are complicated, the selfishness that comes with thinking about people you love while giving so much without maybe their understanding

from what i get, the m/c being manipulative comes from survival instinct, that maybe even she isn’t aware that she’s doing it, it’s something that kind of just happened, a habit that she can’t break. old habits die hard and i don’t think her initial intent is malicious in any way i think she’s honestly just scared and from what’s happened to her in the past i think she’s just trying to protect herself. i think for jimin, he knows where she was before the pack, he knows the people she was associated with and it’s only fair that he’s paranoid when they’re both very very good at masking emotions and turning a blind eye to things that maybe shouldn’t be brushed over. i’d assume that jimin is also aware that if she really did want to harm any of the pack for whatever reason she probably would have done so by now (i think it’s just his love for tae that has his skepticism spiked)

in the reply to that ask holly worded yoongi’s thought process and actions very well. maybe the person that sent in the ask hasn’t experienced any sort of past trauma themselves and therefore glazed over the complexity of emotions after such a traumatic event? idk the original ask came off a little tone death like they hadn’t considered each of the characters and their individual perspectives and past trauma

in yoongi’s defense he lost contact with the rest of the pack to protect them from his family, and i think naturally, even if you love someone a lot, a loss of contact for months is gonna put a standstill in the relationship, like the m/c, yoongi has been through so so much and like holly explains there’s always been slight favoritism, it was always, and will always be tae and jimin, just like jin and namjoon. sure the m/c and yoongi were thrusted into a relationship with doom hanging over them but there was love, and as much as yoongi loved the pack he’d learnt to love another even if their situation hadn’t been the most ideal. and as much as the m/c was reserved at the start, meeting the pack i think yoongi is slowly learning to love all of them again even if he already knows how, i think it’s about him finding comfort in a place where everything could still be somewhat uncertain

i don’t think he’s wrong either for the slight jealousy he feels, he probably felt like a hero, a pretty shitty one but having just the two of them survive for so long as suddenly your soulmate is being bombarded with 6 times the love than he was giving must be hard for him. and as holly explained it’s jealousy in the sense he’s scared he won’t be useful anymore and just :( poor yoongs, i’m glad they’re spending more time together now i love yoongi x m/c content

i think maybe that the anon had only surface level view of the story, maybe hadn’t thought about it from a new perspective, either the author’s, or the characters in the book, or read other people’s thoughts and feelings and similar experiences to those in the story or they themselves haven’t experienced anything that could help them sympathize with these characters, having a very black and white perspective of complex characters and emotions
