Weekend adventure: Dublin Mountains. Today we took a 20k trek through the Dublin Mountains and I learned two things about myself. 1) I’m still capable of doing a 20k trek, 2) I have no desire to do another. The Dublin Mountains are beautiful and filled with gorgeous vistas and historical landmarks. The map tells me that I saw the Kilmashogue Wedge Tomb from the Bronze Age, the Fairy Castle, which is a passage tomb, and the Tibradden Chambered Cairn, also a passage tomb. Perhaps I have an unsophisticated eye… but these all looked like piles of rocks to me. 🤷♀️ Aside from the landmarks and beautiful views, one section of the trail took us through an area that was burnt to a crisp and still smelled of smoke and ash. It brought me pause. Prayers for all you back in the USA impacted by the fires. #irelandlife (at Dublin Mountains) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFnc92ZlyV8/?igshid=vsx687bp1riy
