Today World News - UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has removed India from the list of countries that need attention over the impact of armed conflicts on children following steps taken by the nation to mitigate the situation.
“In view of the measures taken by the Government to better protect children, India has been removed from the report in 2023” on Children and Armed Conflicts (CAAC), he wrote in the report released on June 27.
But separately his CAAC report noted that there were five child casualties from cross-border shelling from Pakistan last year.

Today World News - US immigration officials have reported that they have discovered extensive fraud in the huge surge of 61 percent in applications filed for the 2024 fiscal year allocation of temporary work visas, known as H1-B, and promised a crackdown.
The nationality breakdown was not immediately available, but about 70 percent of the H1-B visas have gone to Indians in previous years.
US Customs and Immigration Service (USCIS) has “undertaken extensive fraud investigations, denied and revoked petitions accordingly, and is in the process of initiating law enforcement referrals for criminal prosecution”, the agency said on April 28.

The 23-year-old Arjun Tendulkar has been with Mumbai Indians for the last couple of years. He was picked in the auction in 2021 but had to withdraw due to an injury. He was picked in the 2022 auction too but did not get to play a single match last year.
