Tompercy AU Masterpost

As I'm taking a step back from tompercy for the time being, and having just finished my main ASOR-related WIP, I thought it would be a good idea to gather all my tompercy thoughts all in one accessible place (written and non-written). This post is also linked in my pinned. I am still technically taking prompts for this ship, though no promises in terms of filling them; you can also request any AU from the unwritten section of this post, and I'll do my best to oblige since I already have thoughts for most of those :)

Also, anyone is allowed to write a fic based on any of my prompts, or transform any of my works (ie translation, writing another story in one of my established universes, write something inspired by my fics/prompts, etc; just don’t repost my fics wholesale) — I simply ask that you link it to me somehow so that I can check it out!

Written

Superhero AU: a civilian and a mercenary (mid-length; series of one-shots) Features Percy as the only civilian in a family of superheros, a Deathstroke-inspired Tom as the world's deadliest mercenary, and a something-with-benefits type relationship.

Royalty AU(s): you should see me in a crown (short; series of one-shots) Tom is the heir to the throne, and Percy is a spy on a mission to kill the king totally normal librarian. Bizarre yearning vibes.

a mask of my own face (short one-shot) Mostly platonic, but still tompercy-centric; Tom is a well-known mercenary, and Percy is his mysterious masked client.

Vampires AUs: Crimson (short one-shot) Percy is a vampire, Tom is a wizard. Unarguably erotic, but somehow not erotica.

Sanguine (even shorter one-shot) Tom is a vampire, Percy is a wizard. Spiritual successor to Crimson. Somehow even more erotic (but still not erotica).

Faerie (And Adjacent) AUs: offer me his lips (short one-shot) Percy is fae, because the the urge to make him some kinda creature is never-ending. Tom is a wizard hoping to make a deal.

monsters of a feather (short one-shot + bonus) Tom is one of the most feared pirates to still sail the seas; Percy is a siren caged in the bowels of his ship, only ever let out to lure other ships into Tom's waiting hands.

ASOR Canon Divergence: Beloved (short two-shot) AU where tompercy is roommates during the war. Bizarre vibes just in general; the first tompercy fic I ever wrote.

sworn companionship (short two-shot) Used to be called "crucio" if that tells you anything; AU where Percy becomes Tom's sworn companion at some unspecified time, presumably post-war. Bizarrely kind of erotic, but mostly fluffy.

lay all your love on me (fairly longform; it's about 30k words) ASOR alternate ending; canon divergent from the Forbidden Forest confrontation. Tom learns how to love. Featuring some of my favorite tags from any of my fics: "Percy Weasley is Bad at Feelings / 'Bad at feelings' doesn't even BEGIN to describe what's wrong with Tom Riddle". >> Now with sequel, which is about 10k words, and is mostly erotica with character study.

communing with dangerous men (shortform multi-shot) Vaguely associated with lay all your love; a Percy in some sort of post-war established relationship is thrown back in time to the late 1940s, when Tom is working at Borgin and Burke's. An even darker tompercy than I usually write, with lots of codependency, obsessive devotion, and eroticized gore.

Other/Miscellaneous: it's golden hour somewhere (collection of short one-shots) This is a collection of three one-shots featuring tompercy interacting in the sun, following the theme, "in another world, we could've been so happy". Features a professor AU, a coffee shop AU, and a bonus/missing scene canon compliant to ASOR.

it ain't love (if it don't hurt) (extremely short one-shot) unclear what universe this takes place in; basically erotica, but lacking genitalia. The intimacy of torture.

little rabbit (short pwp one-shot) An omegaverse porn w/o plot, featuring a wolf!Tom and a bunny!Percy. No heat/rut/mating cycles, if you're not into that sort of thing, but there are still cnc elements; Tom chases Percy down in the woods.

pomegranate hearts (mid-length; series of one-shots) Featuring Percy as Hades, king of the dead and the underworld, Tom as Persephone, young god of spring all growing, sprouting things, and a tangible power dynamic so skewed in Percy's favor that their relationship comes out looking something like one of equals. Also, has a wider cast of characters than my usual fics, including Abraxas, Severus, and a more fanon-flavored Harry Potter than an ASOR flavored one.

From My Ideas Folder (Unwritten):

a civilian and a mercenary AU: Percy is trying to get a coffee when the shop is suddenly being held up. He's fully ready to go along with the hostage situation, just wanting to get his coffee and then go to work, but Tom shows up out of the blue and is having absolutely none of it.

Alternative relationship reveal: 5 times someone found out about Percy and Tom, and 1 time Percy actually told them. Featuring, probably, Tonks, Severus, and various Weasleys.

Time Travel AU(s): Percy time travels to the early 1940s and beats the shit out of someone for calling Tom a mudblood.

Literally any Percy as a Knight of Walpurgis AU.

Time Traveler's Wife-esque AU where the sworn companionship ritual between Percy and Voldemort goes wrong or gets interrupted; a Percy who's soul is fundamentally attached to Tom's gets flung through time, appearing to young Tom at various points in his life (either involving scenes at Wool's Orphanage, Hogwarts, while Tom is working at Borgin and Burke's, while he is traveling the world, etc... OR Percy is transported to Tom immediately after he makes each horcrux, for a total of 7 times).

ASOR Canon Divergence: Alternate ending where Tom wins the war, but Percy dies and comes back as a ghost (but Wrong; possibly soul-related complications, something sworn companionship related???). Percy has some form of amnesia, and either follows Tom around like a lost dog or haunts their flat, which Tom refuses to move out of for some reason.

Alternate ending where post-war Percy is told that all physical forms of Voldemort have been successfully destroyed, but a remnant remains harmlessly attached to his soul, mostly powerless, destined to die once he does. This results in a benevolent possession, Venom-esque dynamic where Tom is a snarky asshole living in Percy's head and occasionally taking over his body, and Percy just has to deal with that now.

Lay all your love adjacent t4t AU, with a transmasc!Tom who transitioned in childhood + promptly obliviated everyone into believing he was always male, and a very repressed transfem!Percy that Tom is slowly manipulating and coercing into being more feminine. I myself am genderqueer, but I find that I rarely write trans characters, so this would ultimately be an interrogation of that habit, a joyful study of transgender identity, and a massive fuck you to JK Rowling.

Other/Miscellaneous: Selkie!Percy AU tentatively named Salinity. Percy saves a young, orphanage-era Tom, they interact throughout the years, and Tom eventually returns to steal Percy's coat.

Animal hybrid AU with a bunny!Percy living in a cottage doing wizard stuff, and a wolf!Tom who breaks and enters in order to steal a magical artifact (I'm thinking a horcrux that Percy found by complete accident). And then he accidentally gets dog adopted. And then Percy has to contend with the fact that his new wolf familiar is actually a particularly attractive dark wizard. This one would be really funny honestly, it just seems kinda long. Also, Percy has massive glasses and velvety ears, by necessity of the AU.

Percy is a wizard who traveled a long ways to learn arcane magics from the immortal sage he heard is living in this mountaintop cave. Tom is a dragon that lives in a mountaintop cave, and who is not against adding this plucky young wizard to his hoard.

Short one-shot; Tom is a professional duelist, and Percy is very impressed.

Some sort of mixed-generation AU where Tom and Percy have been together since Hogwarts; after graduation they move in together, and Percy provides for the two of them with his Prewett heirship and ministry job. Tom is promiscuous and disloyal, Percy is devoted and willfully ignorant of Tom's various affairs – when he eventually confronts Tom, Tom casually leaves him for one of the many purebloods he's been courting, leaving Percy searching for a way to win him back. Vaguely inspired by the novel Naomi by Junichiro Tanizaki.

Kink community AU where Tom is an event host in the local community and Percy has stumbled upon the scene by complete accident at age 18-19. Drawn to Percy's naivete and vulnerability, Tom takes care to portray himself as being trustworthy (as he's something of a community leader), and takes Percy under his wing in order to take advantage of him.

Trafficlight SMP/death games AU with Tom as an extremely prolific killer on his red life, and Percy on his green life but nonetheless absolutely dedicated to serving Tom. Featuring red life bloodlust, irrational loyalty to what should've been a temporary alliance, betrayal, and reluctant affection/devotion. Tentatively named I bet on losing dogs.

Fic/Au ideas!!

partially inspired by @mushroom-jack , more so inspired by the fact that I have forgotten about way too much shit in gdocs so here’s an attempt to actually collect all the (good) thoughts I have 💪

Tompercy

Generic Time Loop trope

Tom and Percy wake up in a padded room with no magic. they can still do magic. post apocalyptic scene where Muggles win in a war against magic (i.e, Statute leak)

muggles might “harvest” magic from users because they can’t generate it themselves (this relies on the fact that ambient magic is unharvestable or doesn’t exist)

leaning towards unharvestable— thinking maybe everyone has some ambient magic within them, and the statute was made to drain/consolidate magical power for several select few while the masses live without magic at all. with their newfound “equality,” the world is reverting back to how it was the days before the statute leak

EXCEPT for those who don’t “exist” in the present time

So in a radically popular move, even the strongest supporters of “equality” start nicely kidnapping and enslaving magicals from the past, except that just causes the magic to disappear even faster than before. damn this sounds like an allegory

in the building time doesn’t exist— constantly looping in this (prison? factory?) to reset “internal clocks” and also take advantage of disappearing magicals throughout the years = that’s how different generations are able to meet

cities have been built underground to avoid the fallout from the remnants of nuclear war

can also just be a generic experimentation AU 🤷

Suicide (ASOR)

Tom kills himself so Percy doesn’t lose his magic

Tom accidentally kills Percy with the cruciatus curse OR magically stunts him so that he’s intellectually disabled— think the Longbottoms w/ permanent intensive care

Tom ends up killing himself either way because he’s just fucked up the only person who really understood him

Percy kills himself after he kills Tom (in progress)

Either Percy or Tom dies from a magical drug overdose

Here’s some character studies!! (it gets progressively darker)

Hold me until you love me: (in progress)

Percy nearly lets Tom drown (or nearly drowns him himself, it’s not clear) but stops because he loves him

worst possible move

Tom ends up owing Percy a life debt

The longer a life debt goes unfulfilled the more the person feels inclined to pay them back

But Percy HAS to let it go unfulfilled because otherwise Tom will literally murder everyone

So much manipulation

“Stop it,” Percy whispers. “You’d stop it if you really loved me.”

Who even is Tom anymore. everything that makes Tom Tom gets kinda…melted away to save Percy’s friends

Essentially the imperius by the time it stops

just reverse everything Tom did to Percy but make it 10x worse

Tompercy infidelity au

Percy’s guilt complex makes a sudden reappearance

they were the friends with benefits in university who swears that they were just friends but in reality just miscommunicates to the point where they both feel like the other doesn’t want a real relationship

Tom leaves, gets successful, and then meets Percy…who’s now been married to Penelope for 5+ yrs

they hook up. regularly.

worst possible move

I bet Tom sleeps with basically everyone he knows to try and cope

I bet Percy knows, misinterprets this, and leans more into Penelope to try and cope

I bet Penelope knows but can’t stop it and can’t even imagine divorce (super traditional upbringing) so she just tries to pretend like the world doesn’t exist to try and cope

spoiler: Tom won’t let her and rubs it in her face at every opportunity because he’s jealous as fuck

some super toxic behaviors. gaslighting, manipulation, threats of self-harm, especially if the other tries to leave

this isn’t written for a reason 🫡

I have no need for love

detailing how Tom sleeps his way up to power/sexualizes and/or objectifies himself to survive

very very dubious consent (also rampant pedophilla)

explores Tom’s avoidant-fearful attachment style AND possibly some internal fears— fears that he’ll never be truly valued or loved as long as he’s conventionally handsome

BAMF Percy. beats the shit out of people on the streets. need I say more?

this has the potential to be mildly sweet despite the absolute depravity it contains. might write this

Harry and Percy bonding moments 🫡

Harry’s the prince

Percy’s the peasant pet they stole from his family and keep around for entertainment. He’s allowed to live in the palace only at Harry’s whim

doesn’t feel like a peasant (too isolated) doesn’t feel like royalty (too ostracized)

Tom comes up to him and whispers that he recognizes him, he knows what Percy can do, he knows what Percy is capable of

Maladaptive Daydreaming AU:

can’t describe this too much bc I’m actively writing it lmao

Percy, out of the trauma he has experienced, retreats into the Occlumency shields of his mind to make something better

Telephone AU:

(Post-ASOR)

Percy has the possibility to make telephone calls to Tom at various stages of his life

they (re) fall in love

except one day Percy doesn’t call him

he waits for hours, days, years

Percy warns him not to become Voldemort. He becomes Voldemort out of spite, personally makes sure that Fred is killed but makes it look like an “accident”

that’s mean even for me how about we just make this a sweet love story

some miscellaneous Tombraxas (non-ASOR)

Abraxas mockingly teaches Tom how to be “human”

Enemies to lovers— Abraxas fell first, but Tom fell harder

Abraxas is the only person he’ll genuinely listen to

Tom is the only person he’ll hear out

Abraxas teaches him about pure blood heritage— he’s the one that gives him the pureblood record book, the book that allows Tom to make the Gaunt connection

Tom teaches him various dark magics— relentlessly innovative, contributes to the Malfoy Manor wards himself

confesses that he’s an orphan but Abraxas is his family!! he’s his home!!

they break up because Abraxas needs an heir lmfao and Tom resents him for it forever

literally fucking snags his son and his grandson as revenge

tomione

(I’m not a huge fan, but there are some ideas here that kind of carry over from tompercy)

Hermione is always relentlessly trying to fix Tom

Tom gets fed up with her and points out that trying to love someone into changing for them isn’t love, it’s manipulation

promptly tries to manipulate her back lmfao

they’re really toxic

Tom constantly dismisses her but that just makes Hermione more desperate to prove herself to him

eventually she comes to her senses and breaks up with him

but then that triggers Tom’s abandonment issues and he starts love bombing

if I ever wrote this, it’d just be an experiment on how toxic relationships work

mildly interesting though…hm…

I do not care what you do with these AUs 💪💪 send them to me though if you do anything with them bc I’d love to read what yall have come up with

Tompercy Character Reference

Having finished another tompercy WIP with no plans for another one in the works, here is another reference post for the tumblr girlies. These are the characterization bios that I made a while ago in order to get a grasp of their personalities, motives, and have something to reference for their physical appearance rather than always CTRL F-ing A Study of Resonance. This post will be linked in my pinned; I hope it gives interesting insight as to how I see these characters :)

Percival “Percy” Ignatius Weasley-Prewett

Born: August 22, 1976

Appearance: wavy red hair, brown eyes (to match Molly), tortoiseshell glasses. Has freckles, eyebags, and acne, but is practiced at glamoring his face. Otherwise, his features are fairly unremarkable. Blushes easily. Lanky, average height, not particularly athletic. Dresses to come across as respectable, high-class, and sophisticated – wears a variety of colors in order to conform to seasonal fashions. When not a wizard, he is partial to knit sweaters/sweater vests, slacks, dress shirts, and peacoats. Casually, you may find him in his usual slacks and a crew-neck university sweatshirt of some sort.

Personality: earnest, determined, and prideful. Interested in proving himself and earning the respect of his family and peers, but not through hiding who he is (slight superiority complex + rampant self-esteem issues). Wishes he was brought up in a respectable pureblood family. Intensely autistic; doesn’t understand most casual social cues and prefers strict formal etiquette rules, wishes to stick to his routine and dislikes sudden change, fascinated and enamored by his academic fields of choice, prefers interacting with competent adults rather than peers, and is shockingly lonely despite generally preferring solitude.

Has a continued guilty-complex about most things, including pursuing his personal ambitions rather than giving into his parents’ wishes, not being a perfect brother to his siblings, and his continued association with Tom (whatever form that might take). Feels everything very strongly, but especially shame. Ultimately a product of his childhood: his perception of his parents’ pride forcing their entire family to live in poverty and discouraging him and his siblings from seeking out opportunities, being the only person with his flavor of autism in his household and therefore never being understood or really respected by the people around him, and having insane middle child syndrome… affected him!

Generally takes after his mother in pride, stubbornness, self-righteousness, and the way he likes to run his household. Jealous and admiring of Tom in equal measure.

Tom Marvolo Riddle

Born: December 31, 1926

Appearance: coiffed dark brown hair, dark gray eyes with silver flecks (though they are dark blue in ASOR), aristocratic features; high cheekbones, long eyelashes, straight nose, sharp jaw. His skin is smooth and fair. He’s tall and well-proportioned; overall he is exceedingly conventionally handsome and aesthetically pleasing. He carries himself very fluidly, like water, and has generally practiced all his movements to perfection, as if brought up in a very aristocratic pureblood house. He dresses well and classically, mostly in grays, greens, white/cream, and black. When not a wizard, he is partial to leather oxfords, blazers/waistcoats/suits, cashmere sweaters, and also slacks. Casually, you may find him in jeans and a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

Personality: exceedingly prideful, intelligent, cunning, and ambitious; a textbook Slytherin in every universe. Believes in the value of a meritocracy – disparages nepotism and similar methods of gaining power, but values intelligence and competence in others… so long as they agree that he is still better than them and admire him accordingly. Such is his pride. Bookish and hungry for knowledge, and dislikes (but sucks up to) authority unless he determines that the figure is Worthy of His Respect. Perfectly willing to play a role in order to get what he wants – power – even if that means playing nice with purebloods he doesn’t give a shit about. Generally reaches a point, eventually, where he decides that he is now the most powerful wizard in the world and is therefore the ultimate authority, and may as well be God (usually around age 17). After this he will never respect anyone else as an authority ever again, unless they repeatedly beat him in duels (both physical and intellectual).

Intensely autistic also; hates when things don’t make logical sense, dislikes the unexpected, fairly asocial, and has great difficulty relating to and empathizing with (and therefore having sympathy or compassion for) other people – most of whom he sees as unintelligent, weak, too ruled by emotions, and easy to manipulate. Ultimately a product of his childhood, where he was demonized by every adult figure in his life, shunned by all his peers, surrounded by death and suffering in his various forms (hunger, disease, cold, and war), and yet was smarter and more talented than everyone around him and also had literal magic. Even upon going to Hogwarts, he was called slurs and shunned purely for his background, and never seen for his true talent and skill until he started hurting people… which positively enforced for him that hurting people was effective for getting what he wants (power and respect).

Thinks he likes Percy best when he is being subservient; actually prefers when Percy is being intelligent, ambitious, competent, and witty – which are the things that he likes Percy for and was fascinated by in the first place. Will never really view Percy as an equal, but likes him well enough, and finds him intelligent and interesting.

hi hi so im housesitting for the next week-ish and have nothing to do except a single driving test (wish me luck lol) next week. and i thought of an amazing story idea (besides the one i just sent an ask about) where its a FAIRY AU.

i was thinking like who would be the better option for the human, and i think Tom is the better of the two; he didn't grow up in a magic world in canon. in this AU he'd be a human who met a magical fae person.

i wanna write this and im definitely thinking about it. I've just never published any of my stories before. (also don't mind my grammar or spelling whenever I'm on this site. I'm not trying to write well, just trying to get my message across. when i actually write a story I pay more attention to these details lmao.)

i think if i were to write this itd be a one-shot. but anyway, thoughts? concerns? prayers?

I love it!! I say go for it for sure. If nothing else I will read it and thoroughly enjoy it :)

I think the idea of Tom as the human is interesting because I feel like I always envision Percy as being very intoxicated by Tom, very swayed and manipulated, like Tom exudes a sort of power over him. At the beginning, I justified it by the strength of Tom's magic, and what that might feel like to Percy, and why it might interest him despite everything else he knows about Tom. Then, of course. It escalated.

I like the idea of Tom as the human because he would be as strange to Percy as Percy would be as a fae to him. I like the idea of Percy having what seems like a power imbalance over him (like a human may...have over a diary...) yet perhaps being utterly taken by surprise by Tom and fascinated by him, by his mundane human concerns, by his larger than life ambitions. Idk. A domestic peaceful (bored? Unfulfilled? Gullible? What're you thinking?) ancient ageless timeless Percy who finds his life utterly upended by this human.

Thoughts, prayers, enthusiasm, but no concerns!

Tompercy royalty AU where Tom is the crown (wink wonk) prince and Percy is the palace librarian (but actually an assassin sent by the Order to spy on/kill the king, who is of course the Dark Lord). Cue one million scholarly debates over wine by the library fireplace that last long into the night, Tom bringing Percy a hundred elaborate presents with only the thinnest veil of plausible deniability keeping them from being obvious courting gifts, and Percy nursing a debilitating guilt complex over still plotting to kill Tom’s father.

Things are complicated by Tom actually being totally down with patricide, and Percy not realizing due to his tension-fraught relationship with his own father, who he still loves quite dearly.

And then the obvious ending is that we install Tom on the throne with Percy as his loving but still rather emotionally dysfunctional consort 🥰

Hi. You know who I am. If you ever feel so inclined as to post the ghost!Percy time travel fic. yk. I will be forever in your debt etc etc… it will make me clinically insane forever and ever and so on and so forth… but you do not HAVE to. I already think about tompercy all the damn time (as there is something wrong with me). Every day I am longing for them (what if they got one more tender moment) (what if there the specific intimacy of undergoing the cruciatus at your beloved’s hand) (what if I cared for your soul as if it were my own etc etc)

^^^ I understand that the above descends into unhinged and incomprehensible gibberish (please bare with me). I just need to to know I will forever be obsessed with them.

ok so I am brainstorming and would love initial thoughts

so percy has lost his magic, right. no going back there. I also said he can't travel back in time. BUT. BUT. what if he could—as a ghost, as a shade, as someone who cannot change during his time (but ideally someone who could....physically come in contact with tom.....).

I'm thinking myrtle could have helped him, in an attempt to help him get closure. he will be in the past only as long as he needs to satisfy his goal (brainstorming....what that should be) and THEN he will be forcibly (or gently) ripped from tom's life and returned to his own. somewhere out there in another universe will be a tom who knew a percy when he was younger. perhaps somewhere out there in another universe there will be a tom who decides to become the person percy would have loved to have as a mentor and a teacher during the years where he was young and angry and lost. somehow percy's tired and sad and thoughtful empathy would collide with a young tom's insecure anger and tom would reignite some of that fire that post war percy has lost. part of the ocean of percy's war-weary gaze would dampen some of tom's inflammatory rage.

idk. that's the thought so far. it would necessarily be a different dynamic than ASOR because percy would not say "my lord" to tom, much. percy would once again be the same age as tom, but a bit older, in the way that tom was to him in his life. tom may not be redeemable (and i will get dozens of hate comments again for that i fear) but maybe he (somehow through sheer force of percy's will) learns to be just a little more...restrained. thoughtful. purposeful.

whether I can WRITE this is a totally different story. but — thoughts? anyone?

anyway so does. does Tom ever find out about the time travel???? it's been a min since I read lay so forgive me if it's mentioned and I just. blanked . but I'm trying to think what his reaction would be and honestly i don't know. I know it'd be an extreme reaction. I don't know what though.

Nope! Tom never finds out about the time travel in Lay all your love, and Percy never intends on telling him. TBH I also never really imagined him finding out, but there's a few ways it could happen; Percy does still have to go talk to McGonagall to discuss warding and her apprenticeship offer, and he promised to tell her a "strange story" in ASOR once everything was over, so if Tom eavesdrops too hard on that conversation he could very well find out about the time travel – I think he would both feel proud (of Percy's conniving) and betrayed, and Percy would be frustrated that Tom's still spying on him/doesn't trust him, but also relieved that the secret is out. I couldn't be sure exactly how that conversation would go without writing it out (which I'm too lazy to do, lol), as these characters have a mind of their own, and working on Lay all your love looked an awful lot less like me deciding what they would do, and more just tompercy doing whatever they wanted and me writing it down as fast as I could.

The other option, I think, is that I mention in I am your boy that Percy once let Tom walk through his occlumency shields; I think that if Percy ever decided to just suck it up and tell Tom (yippee, communication!) he would opt for showing Tom via legillimency rather than telling him the whole story with words. I still think Tom would have mixed feelings about this, but it wouldn't prompt another "keeping secrets" argument at least, since Percy told him of his own volition. The question is, does knowing that Percy was mentally older and was operating with foreknowledge for many of his interactions with the Diary (after all, by the time Tom the Diadem/portrait really came into play, Percy's foreknowledge wasn't doing that much for him anymore) make Tom consider Percy as more of an equal, or less of one? After all, he's less of a prodigy than Tom would've thought, but the fact that he invented a new form of time travel at age 24 is fucking insane. That, too, was for the sake of love – it would force Tom to acknowledge how important Percy's family is to him.

Anyways, Tom doesn't find out in Lay all your love, and Percy doesn't plan on telling him, but even if he did find out I feel like they'd ultimately still be okay – after all, they're stuck together, so they'd have to work something out.
