Researching the train, and he knows that a passenger's number has to reach 0 to get off, but he doesn't actually know how to get it there

Thinks he's stuck on the train since his number just seems to slowly tick up, but plans to help Flora and Luke off, accidentally becoming a dad and getting his number down in the process

Still a gentleman, but his social skills are a little rusty since while he has met other passengers, he hasn't had consistent or "normal" interactions in a while

It's a train full of puzzles. He has been having fun

Flora Reinhold (13)

Has been on the train for 3 years and didn't know it was possible to get off the train until meeting Layton and Luke

Got on after her mom died, her dad remarried, and felt that everyone was acting like nothing had really changed. Basically was thrust from one scary and confusing situation to a different one

Temporarily became a princess of a car that would need to be rescued to unlock the door. She didn't know that being alone in a tower until a passenger showed up and asked Layton and Luke to take her with them

Has befriended other passengers, but they all eventually left her behind, and for a while she'd be waiting for Luke and Layton to do the same

Needs to at least start dealing with her trust and abandonment issues

Is pretty resourceful

Plot Stuff

Layton is accidentally well known on the train as the guy who has figured out the most about the situation. This would lead to him noticing that the train cars have been weird lately

Descole is the antagonist and trying to take over the train. Like Amelia except a theater kid who hasn't ripped One-One out of the console. He definitely has helpers because for him evil is a group project. And he wants Layton's research to help make progress

Yes Descole has to do with the chaos that leads to Luke and Layton meeting

At some point, they're in some sort of game show or trivia game car that is meant to help Luke

They find Layton's tape and get to see his memories and, oh boy, the angst. It's also how Luke finds out Hershel was friends with his parents.

A big moment for Flora is when she has something Layton has been wanting to examine but the car is falling apart or something and it's either the thing or her, and Layton doesn't hesitate to prioritize her safety

So it’s lovers to enemies to act acquaintances to friends to loversish for layclaire (sorry)

It takes place in a london where gangs rule the roost and toons are there to entertain or help with dodgy dealings

Claire is just living her “normal” life as a dr before this all happens

Until Clive dove her kind off apprentice/ward gets framed for murder (bill hawks) and comes to her to help uncover who did it

This leads to Claire and her toon friend Rickie the Rooster to realise oh their gonna have to go back to the underground again cause this is totally the work of The Devil In The Tophat

So to clarify future Hershel is TDITTH in this along with his gang the Crimson Roses they rule the underground

So Claire, Clive, Rickie and Claire’s close friend Desmond have to sneak around to find clues and gather information on who could have framed Clive and why

In come Claire’s old friends the Sapphire songbirds who have been searching on this for years

This is where Clive finds out Dr Foley is not what she seems and is actually the head of a huge underground organisation

In this group is Celeste her younger sister, Dimitri fellow scientist who has a debt to pay

Marie one of the eldest in the group along with Drake

Also turns out the DITTH is looking for not only Clive but her too

And that’s how it starts

Some extra stuff

Clive technically is Claire’s godson because his mother was quite close to her before she died and left him in her care

Hersh is extremely protective over his daughter’s and son, he will not hesitate to go apeshit if you hurt them

Claire is the more fight now think later one out of the two whilst hersh is much more calculating and orderly

Luke is the oracle figure in this au again in a sort of neutral way along with his toon friends Toppy the mouse, Enna the rabbit and Lumi the otter!

This also includes Aurora who’s his best friend and is able to know where the next fight will break out

Clark and Brenda are on opposite sides (I’ll leave you to figure out why and which groups they decided to be in :3)

Specters Call Part 3

I get always so giggly when Hershel starts complimenting Luke, it's adorable. He keeps reiterating how proud he is of him and how well he's done, I'm in pain.

I'm sorry, but I haven't read/heard the word "kringelig" in forever. It's such a child word to use in German, I cannot with this game.

"We will get to the bottom of the matter. Do you trust me, Luke?" "I... I trust you, Professor."

Hershel keeps asking, in text and cut-scenes, and I think that's such a good character trait. He makes constantly sure that Luke is still on board and that he's not forcing him to follow. He'd be completely ready to bring Luke home if the boy felt like he didn't feel safe with him.

"Calm down, Emmy, calm yourself! Please don't lose your patience!"

I imagine Emmy about to storm up to the boy, fists in the air and face in a snarl while the Professor is holding her by the back of her jacket. The text really makes it look like he's panicking and pleading with her, which is hilarious to me.

"Emmy, your trust in the government is really refreshing."

Not Hershel thinking back to being almost beat to death in an alley when looking for clues on Claire's death. I'm sorry, but this man has EVERY right to question the happenings in Misthallery's higher ranking residents. He is ready to tear Jakes apart at this point and I'm HERE for it.

The first time playing this game I clearly remember going: "OH SHIT!!! YES of courSE! Luke can talk to animals, I FORGOT." and now I just think back to all the times Luke reacted when Emmy mentioned seeing mice or hearing something squeaking.

They made it so obvious and here I was going: "Huh, lots of mice, wonder what I'm gonna do with all the mouse coins, they are putting a lot of emphasis on this, weird."

Also Toppi is adorable, I love himmmmm.

"I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I cannot put you two in danger under any circumstances." "As long as we are with you, nothing will happen to us. I'm sure of it!" "But promise me that you'll run for your lives if danger is afoot." "Please be careful too, Professor!"

They are all so cute; Hershel compromising and letting them stay (because man, how could he send them away when they believe in him this much), Emmy being completely confident and ready to go and Luke worrying for the Professor.

(I try to push the fact that Emmy is tailing the Professor to spy on him to the back of my head all the time. No matter how many times I play the games, I only occasionally get these flashes of "Oh she's gonna betray me" before I continue enjoying her presence.

"Grrr! That smug cop deserves a sophisticated kick in his..." "Cough." "What's wrong, Professor?"

Emmy about to drop a swear, but Layton very 'elegantly' cutting her off. And there is Luke, worrying again. They mean so much to me, aughhh.

ok i did in fact do more designs for this au. featuring local coalition of spooky children (misthallery sure has a lot of those, huh) and baby detective club

the oracle, the witch and the reaper...

clark is still mayor in this au, and still luke's dad, obviously. i guess this means that frogs are less oppressed in this version of amphibia? i wanted to give luke toppy but i couldn't decide what kind of insect would represent a mouse in amphibia logic.

...is arianna still the calamity witch? that's a loaded term in amphibia lore. what kind of implications would that have for her role in the overarching story?

i imagine crow (and the rest of the black ravens) work at the bizarre bazaar.

and here's emiliana, lucy, and ernest as polliwogs to round out kat's supporting cast.

i'm still settling on which other characters i want to fill out the population of wartwood. thinking like, don paolo, chelmey and barton, sammy thunder, hanna, and so on. also i am realizing that i have not done anything with the rest of the mystery room cast, hm. toads next though.
