If I did the math wrong in any way, I am going to slaughter something. Probably myself.

Sesshomaru/Irene: Sora, Hikaru and Akane, Airi, and Towa and Shion

Inuyasha/Kagome: Itsuki and Moroha

Miroku/Sango have way more kids than what I drew here, but the ones I did draw are: Hisui and Gyokuto.

Sesshomaru is very blue in the manga so I made him blue here. :3

Shion is very much the most no-nonsense of the group, and is the cousin that drives Itsuki the least crazy. Hikaru, on the other hand, is the wildest cousin, and often gets into a bunch of chaos alongside Moroha, so Itsuki frequently gets headaches and has to ask Sora to go save the duo before they get themselves killed. Akane spends most of her time in Kururugi Village, living there as a priestess, but that doesn't stop Moroha from trying to take her out to explore and being protective of her.

Irene being close friends with Sango, their kids naturally grew up alongside one another, so everyone is pretty friendly with Hisui, Gyokuto, Kin'u, and their various unnamed siblings. Hisui has a crush on Sora while Gyokuto is constantly flirting with Hikaru, to the half-demon's embarrassment because he doesn't know how to deal with it.

Towa and Airi basically grow up in modern day Japan. Towa flirts with Hojo/Ayumi's daughter.

I think Towa and Airi are already 14 and 16 in 2018??? Or maybe a year or two younger??? So Irene and Maria would meet them when they go to Japan to try the Bone Eater's Well to get back to the Feudal Era??? But my brain doesn't understand numbers and I've been jumping between numbers so freaking confused.

The “how much can I make Towa and Setsuna look like Irene” challenge while still retaining Sesshomaru traits, Lol. I was too lazy to redo Akane’s outfit to the Shikigami since that would be an entire... just... straight up redraw. I straight up redid Setsuna’s outfit because let’s real it looked kinda... meh before. 

Sora is the eldest. 

Hikaru and Akane are next. 

Airi is after.

Towa and Setsuna are last.

Hikaru also has fur, in a style similar to Toga, but you can’t see it in this. Towa honestly already looked a lot like Irene before, so I just gave pointed ears, a crescent moon, and changed up her bangs to look a bit more like Irene’s. I was gonna draw a demon slayer Rin, as Irene is basically raising her alongside her own half-demon kids, but... again... lazy. Maybe later.

My Yashahime Rewrite (Forest Deep Version)

Kirinmaru shows up to Irene’s house in Kaede’s village where all her half-demon kids and “little sister” Rin lives. Irene uses her Shikigami to fight against him, but he is a daiyokai and her powers are normally meant for healing and support. She gets wounded badly.

Lord Sesshomaru arrives in time to stop him from killing Irene (his wife) but Rin took the kids and scattered, and it’s there the forest catches fire and Towa falls through time with her older sister Airi. InuKag get sealed away somehow- probably in a demon scroll- and without Kagome’s spiritual powers and knowledge of medicine there’s no way to heal Irene.

Miroku and Kaede try, but while they stop the bleeding she remains comatose. Being a Shikigami user, Irene is connected to nature and spirits, so BAM! Into the sacred tree she goes, I guess. Rin and the remaining half-demons go to MirSan, and they train alongside KinGyo and Hisui. Rin and Kohaku eventually get together.

Sora follows in her father’s footsteps and becomes a powerful sword user, and is very protective of her younger siblings. Very sassy, very mom friend. Hikaru wears his mother’s old blue kimono and armor made by Sango, and guards the village alongside the panther demons. Goofy and mischevious .Akane, his twin sister who is very similar to Jinenji in the looks department as she appears more dog than person, strengthens her abilities with Shikigami. Shy but determined. Jealous of siblings. Setsuna stills becomes a demon slayer.

There is no dream butterfly, but she has lost her memories due to trauma.

Due to the tree being tainted by Root Head’s evil remains (Not possessed by Root Head himself. Treekyo also does not exist) time is unstable. Portals appear randomly. This allows the group to travel back-and-forth between past and present day. They have to focus on where they’re going or they’ll end up in the wrong timeline.

Towa and Airi meet a younger Irene (19) when she’s come to Japan to try the well in a last ditch effort to return to the Feudal after Anastasia was defeated. Maria (Irene’s sister) and Sota realize right away that Towa and Airi are Irene and Sesshomaru’s future kids.

Irene travels to the Feudal Era, and Maria stays in Japan with her fiancé to help Sota and his Wife raise the kids, as they ARE her nieces and the only remaining connection she has left to Irene now. Towa learns martial arts and sword fighting from them, and Airi unlocks her connection to the Shikigami. Towa is NOT an idiot in this, and actually has common sense. A lot like Irene personality wise, so she’s friendly but fierce when needed, and works well under pressure. Airi is the same, but while Towa is more of an introvert Airi is an extrovert.

Moroha lives with Koga in the meanwhile, as MirSan are already raising seven kids plus KohRin, and Koga DOTES on Moroha so much. She does not get sold into slavery and the rouge does not exist. Moroha is his child now. Sorry Inuyasha. Koga has adopted her. He’s her new dad.

When the time traveling happens and the girls bump into each other in modern day, Airi points out right away that the comatose Irene is their mother. To revive her, they gotta save InuKag- and to do that, they have to find Kirinmaru. They probably bump into Sesshomaru every now and then who is also tracking him down. Probably tells the kids that HE is the one who is going to save their mother and InuKag, and that they should just return to the village, but the kids are like NAH MAN LET US HELP.

...I dunno. This is all my brain has at the moment. I’m too lazy to properly brainstorm the special details. Irene probably used her Shikigami to “seal” the demon blood when the kids were born since it’s literally an attack move in Secret of the Cursed Mask, which is what I based the plot of my fanfic Forest Deep around. So if the seal on the others gets broken Akane is gonna have to put the seal back on. I’m not really sure yet.

I imagine the travel gang to be: Towa, Setsuna. Airi. Moroha. Hisui, Kirara. Guest members are: Sora, Hikaru, KinGyo.

Had a really weird dream where Sesshomaru’s wife was a super sweet, soft spoken lady named Ahn. She had long dark red hair and blue eyes, and was pretty much bedridden??? Thought she was cursed or something, and couldn’t really handle all the bull crap being with a demon got her, and it always felt like the demon lord didn’t really love her, so she and Sesshomaru had a really strained marriage and it was super sad.

So you’d just see Sesshomaru walking around Kaede’s village carrying the twins more often than not because Ahn had trouble being around them.

And then it went into even deeper fanfic territory like a freaking “what if” scenario because bam Irene finally managed to get back to Feudal Era, but she’s a couple years too late, and is super freaking heartbroken when she learns Sess got married and had kids.

And she talks to Ahn (she lives in a different village) because she wants to know her side of the story, and just feels super bad for Ahn and wants to hug her, because it’s clear Ahn feels terrible for her actions and is lonely, so Irene keeps visiting her. And she talks to Sesshomaru too, and she kinda supervises baby Towa and Setsuna (Setsuna got really attached to Irene, but was such a kuudere she had trouble admitting it, truly her father’s daughter).

And it kinda gets to the point where after Irene spent enough time talking to Ahn, Ahn gathers up the courage to spend time with her demonic family, and Irene stumbled across them doing laundry. Well, more like she was and Sesshomaru was just kinda sitting against a tree with Towa on his lap. (Irene had found Setsuna earlier and the small child wanted to be carried so Irene was holding her) And Ahn was surprised at how much the twins like her because Towa ran right at Irene’s leg in an adorable toddler fashion.

And it gets even more soap opera-y because Ahn sees the way Sess is watching Irene with the kids and realizes he never looked at Ahn herself that way, even when their relationship started, and that he always seemed to be looking through Ahn and at someone else. And the reason he chose Ahn was because she reminded him of Irene. And Ahn is just kinda like, “so much makes sense now”.

And during one of her chats with Irene she relays this new observation and Irene is just like “What????” And Ahn even points out Irene can read Sesshomaru’s emotions better than anyone, so she must have known something was up. But Irene deflects it, saying that there are some emotions she can’t read when he hides his thoughts and there’s no way he feels that way. But Ahn tells her it’s fine, that it was a cursed marriage anyway, one doomed to fail from the start. And she pretty much gives Irene her blessing.

😭😭😭 It was such a weird soap opera drama dream but like I love Ahn and I really wanna draw her now, like- she needs all the hugs. Her village hates her, her marriage failed, and she’s just lonely. She’s lonely and she hates herself like- nuuuuu~! 😭😭😭

Also I’m not sure how I feel about the take my brain did on Sesshomaru. Like, why you gotta do him dirty like this?? Rude. 🤨 Towa and Setsuna were freaking adorable though. ❤️

I blame all the musicals I’ve been listening to.
