Hello! Would you mind telling more about Seiya's brother and what is he like?

OH MY FUCKING GOD YES

Finally, the day has come for me to receive an ask about him.

Okay, so, Gaku. Takehaya Gaku. He's a queen. Literally. I was so not ready for this guy. So not fucking ready.

The reason why we'd never gotten any info on him is because Seiya refuses to talk about his brother. Because this motherfucker likes to dress up and style his hair like a woman. And talk like a woman. And act like a woman.

Yes, there is a canonically confirmed non-cishet character in Tsurune.

(And I say "canonically confirmed" because we know these fellas are all gay as fuck but we're never gonna get anything concrete out of this series.)

Other than the above mentioned, Gaku is tactile as hell and he doesn't have any boundaries. He just goes around giving people hugs and acting like a lady. A true icon.

Seiya is embarrassed of his brother. Of course he is. But it's easy to tell that he loves him regardless. I still can't get over the fact that he calls Gaku "onii-chan" (and neither can Kaito, God bless).

Fun fact about Gaku, btw: he's a black-belt at taekwondo for some godforsaken reason. I don't even ask questions anymore.

I keep saying this so much, but I can't stress it enough: there's a lot going on in this volume. Gaku's introduction into the story feels like as much of a fever dream as the introduction of Minato's grandparents. He waltzes in like a storm, a bunch of crucial info is dropped on the spot (both about him and about Seiya), and then he leaves just as quickly as he came. I got so much whiplash from this scene when I first read it that it almost gave me vertigo.

And just in case anyone is wondering: Seiya's parents are completely supportive of his brother. They get along just fine. And they're also supportive of Seiya's choices in regards to his future. The Takehaya family is very much like Seiya himself, I think. They seem normal but are eccentric to an extent.

Oooo Blue Lock is really cool !! It has a sort of different sports anime taste to it which is really cool (plus, so many pretty boys) I also suggest Haikyuu! Its so iconically engaging character wise! Also this less known show called Tsurune (This is the previous sports anime anon btw)

I’ve actually watched Haikyuu before, I’ve seen a good portion of sports anime, honestly. I’ll give Tsurune a look when I have time 😂❤️
