OK so. I need to say. I have to say it because it's been bothering me since like. What. wtnv 229, but that whole Blake plot? Sucked. He was stuck up and a suckup. But then suddenly he just. Changed??? And we literally see none of it??? He's horrible to Carlos one episode, explaining Michelle another, and then the next he's just like "ohhhh boohooo lubelle is scarrrryyy i like night vale now :(" Like. Where did this come from. Finknor. Where the fuck did any of this come from. It would've helped a whole fucking lot if there was. Any indication of this change but there, literally wasn't??? Unless you count the whole Blake calling Cecil out of the station thing??? But like. Gragh. They shouldn't have rushed that arc, it needed to have been paced better, hell they could've made it last two years for better pacing but. here we are.

Like… Cecil KNOWS night vale is weird.. he knows any small town you stumble into has weird unspoken rules, and odd ducks, and a set of beliefs and values that could only be cultivated by a group of people that were born there and end up dying there. He KNOWS night vale is weird, he’s even afraid of it sometimes too, when it suddenly doesn’t feel like the home where he’s lived his entire long, long life.

Cat’s don’t float, but the one in his bathroom does. And thats the key. He is there to be a conduit of information. He isn’t there to question it. And there is a beautiful and frustrating simplicity to that way of moving through life. But it’s literally who Cecil is. He’s bound to it, its his profession. Things happen and he talks about them. He knows that tragedies befall people every day, and there is no rhyme or reason to them. Terrible things happen in small towns. Wonderful things happen in small towns. Cecil, is not a reactive character. He is passive.

And whats sooooooo delicious is that Carlos is directly the opposite. He is very much a reactive character. Carlos, who is so hell bent on fixing what was happening in It Devours, simply cannot adopt that way of thinking (the night vale way of thinking) when there are people he loves, and the town he loves, are in danger. He will let nothing stand in his way, let no one stop him, no matter what the town thinks. There is something to be figured out and he is going to find answers.

This episode was SO good. So much important shit happened.

I have been just waiting for Lubelle to see Cecil as more of a target for her scientific pursuits. We all knew it would happen, but goddamn.

The tape she's about to listen to? Kevin is involved, so Kevin enjoyers ya might see your boi soon. In general they're gonna learn about that whole doubles situation and considering everything with that, oh man.

They killed Station Management :,) also 40 years ago? You mean 1983??

Carlos get her ass. She's targeting your husband.

I wonder if she'e gonna ask around town about Cecil eventually? Maybe ask his family, maybe find out that Cecil & Steve didn't always get along ans try to exploit that? Not that Steve would ever try to put Cecil in danger like on purpose. God I wanna hear Steve's thoughts on this shit.

Okay but I am so stoked to see where this all goes. City Council is NOT gonna be happpy. I was so excited to hear an update their relationship w/ Station Management and of course, Lubelle killed them.

Okay, but Cecil is now Station Management and he's trying to blacklist Lubelle. Cecil has been trying to stop her since day one using his position as a radio host. Multiple times he's encouraged the town against her & her team and has just been negative toward them in general. He was on her radar because of this and since, y'know, he's the local radio host, #1 source of news in Night Vale.

But NOW she's actively interested in studying his "disturbed" mind and god that is just so horrible. Janet calls Cecil disturbed to his face and she wants to run tests on him. Like bitch he just has a lot of trauma! And the way it happened coupled with the nature of Night Vale and its existence has like, effected him a lot.

Cannot get over the audacity to call him disturbed like that. It's so fucked up. Hate Lubelle.

I cannot state how good this arc is and how good of antagonists the University of What It Is are. Especially Lubelle. Hate her so much, hate her lackeys, love the antagonist role she plays. She's detestable, I hate her <3
