EPILOGUE: Showing Off What We Got at the Festival
Citron: We're home~!
Izumi: Welcome back!
Azuma: We bought a lot from the food stalls, so feel free to help yourself.
Izumi: Thank you!
Banri: We each got what we wanted, so we ended up buying a lot.
Tsuzuru: We probably ended up with a lot of duplicates.
Izumi: That'd be pretty funny, if that's the case.
Izumi: Now that we finished the photoshoot... we can start the inste live in a bit.
Kazunari: Alrighty! We'll do fine!
Tenma: Well then, before that... Here, Director. This is for you.
Izumi: Wow, what a beautiful comb...! What's this for?
Tsuzuru: The kimono shop we helped out also had a stall at the festival, they were selling kimono accessories.
Banri: Citron said it'd look great on you, so we all pitched in and bought it.
Izumi: I see. I'm really happy, thanks everyone!
Citron: When Director's happy, we're happy too!
Tumblr media
Izumi: Looks like everyone's ready, let's go ahead and start the live.
Kazunari: Okey-doke! Then, I'll press the button!
Kazunari: Hi, everyone!
Citron: We are MANKAI Company!
Banri: Oh, looks like we've got a big crowd watchin'. We'll also be reading comments, so feel free to send as many as 'ya want.
Kazunari: Today we have.... Tenten! Woah, the comments started going super fast.
Tenma: Wow, you're right... Thank you for your comments, everyone.
Tsuzuru: Um, let's explain why Tenma's here. He's got an announcement to make today.
Tenma: Tsuzuru-san and I will be on the cover of the next issue of VELUDO.
Tenma: The picture turned out pretty good, so stay tuned.
Banri: There'll also be a special feature page with photos and interviews of us in yukata.
Azuma: That's all the information we can give you right now, but we'll be announcing the details any day now, so look forward to it.
Kazunari: Ooh~, everyone's saying they'd enjoy that! Thanksies!
Citron: Make sure to check out the next VELUDO issue too!
Azuma: Now, while on the topic yukata... We'll be showing you what we bought at the local summer festival.
Citron: I'll go first! I bought a mask of this nationally famous character, Okame-san!*
Banri: I don't know about 'nationally famous'.
Azuma: The comments are saying it's well known.
Kazunari: Loads of them!
Tsuzuru: I'll show mine next.
Tsuzuru: This is the pinwheel I got from the festival. I wanted something that was cool-looking but could also help me cool off.
Kazunari: I got some amezaiku! Isn't it beautiful, almost like glass?*
Banri: Here's mine and Azuma-san's.
Tenma: Aren't those children's toys?
Azuma: Yes, they are.
Banri: Actually, we both had the idea to enter the 1000 string lottery challenge, just curious to see if we could win the luxury prizes.*
Azuma: We tried to play until the last minute, but in the end, we didn't win any of those prizes.
Banri: Seriously, it's gotta be a scam.
Kazunari: What the, how much did you guys spend?
Azuma: Fufu, that's a secret. I'll leave it to your imagination.
Izumi: (That means it was a lot....)
Tenma: Last is me, this is my yo-yo balloon.
Citron: Oh! Tenma, you were finally able to get one!? Yesterday, no matter how many times you tried, it tore apart.* *pulls tenma*
Tenma: Uwah!?
Tenma: Citron, you promised not to tell...!
Kazunari: So everyone, how was today's live?
Azuma: I hope you enjoyed it.
Tsuzuru: Thank you for watching this time, too.
Banri: And for all your comments.
Citron: Now then...
Tumblr media
Everyone: We've been MANKAI Company!
Tenma: See ya.
*this is an okame mask
*example of amezaiku, basically handmade candy art of people/animals
*example of the game, pull strings and hope the one you pull has a good prize attached to it
*yo-yo fishing is where you use a small strip of thin paper to try and 'fish' out a balloon with a rubber loop. the balloons are in water so the paper tears easily once wet. (also what they're doing in the cg)

Misumi Ikaruga | [SSR] Apathetic Daidarabotchi | Summer Festival Once More
Tumblr media
Izumi: Good morning, Misumi-kun.
Misumi: Morning, Director-san~...
Izumi: You’re up early. Are you working today?
Misumi: Yeah~.
Izumi: Here, have some of the breakfast I made then.
Tumblr media
Misumi: Okay, thanks…
Izumi: (Misumi-kun has seemed a little out of it the past couple of days… I wonder if there’s something wrong.)
Izumi: …Something on your mind lately, Misumi-kun?
Misumi: Lately? …No, it’s nothing!
Misumi: I’ll get to eating now!
Izumi: If you say so…
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Misumi: That was yummy, thanks for the food. I’m gonna go to my job now.
Izumi: See you later, have a nice day!
*Door closes*
Izumi: (He still seems a little off. I hope he’s okay…)
Kumon: Morning, Director! Uwah~, something smells good!
Izumi: Good morning, Kumon-kun. I just made breakfast.
Kumon: Thanks!
Izumi: By the way, has Misumi-kun seemed off to you lately, Kumon-kun?
Kumon: Ah, you’ve noticed too, Director?
Kumon: Sumi-san has seemed a little depressed since the last summer festival.
Izumi: I think so too.
Izumi: The last summer festival was the Veludo Way Ayakashi Summer Festival. Hmm, I wonder why…?
Kumon: I asked him about it and he just said “It’s nothing~”--.
Kumon: But I can think of one reason why he could be off.
Izumi: You can?
Kumon: Yeah! It’s probably because…
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Misumi: …
Masumi: …
Misumi: Waah, Masumi! You startled me~. Good morning.
Masumi: …Your face is weird.
Misumi: Eh?
Masumi: …Reminds me of the face your brother was making when I last saw him on campus last time.
Misumi: Ehehe, well, we are brothers, after all~.
Masumi: That’s not what I meant.
Tumblr media
Misumi: It wasn’t?
Masumi: Since the summer festival, your brother has been asking me about you more often.
Misumi: Madoka…
Masumi: You can just contact him directly. …You don’t need to bother me about it.
Misumi: Got it, I’ll try and do that! Ehehe, you’re so nice, Masumi~.
Masumi: …It’s nothing.
Misumi: You’re headed to school now, right, Masumi? I’ve gotta go to my part-time job, so let’s leave together!
Masumi: Whatever…
Misumi: Yaay!
· ❀ —– ٠ ❀ ٠ —– ❀ ·
Misumi: …
*LIME*
△△△: How are you, Madoka?
*LIME End*
Kumon: Found you, Sumi-san!
Misumi: Ah, Kumon.
Kumon: Good job at work today!
Misumi: Good job at school too, Kumon~.
Kumon: Good. You seem to be feeling a little better than you did this morning, Sumi-san.
Kumon: Did something good happen?
Misumi: Um, well, Masumi told me that Madoka has been wondering about me~.
Kumon: Gotcha, I knew it was about Madoka-san.
Misumi: You knew it was about Madoka?
Kumon: You’ve seemed a little off lately, so all of Summer Troupe and the Director have been worried about you.
Kumon: And you had a lot of opportunities to see Madoka-san at the summer festival, right?
Kumon: But then I thought that maybe you were sad because you didn’t get to see him as much as you wanted.
Tumblr media
Misumi: Ahaha, you figured it out, Kumon~. Sorry for worrying you all.
Misumi: I actually re~ally wanted to play with Madoka more.
Misumi: Even though I got to see him at the festival, I didn’t get to spend that much time with him… Is it just greedy that I wanted to spend more time with him?
Kumon: Not at all!
Kumon: I had to live away from Nii-chan before I joined the troupe, so I kinda get how you feel.
Misumi: Kumon…
Kumon: When Nii-chan came back to our parents’ house and I went back to the dorms, I felt lonely for a while.
Kumon: So if you wanna spend more time together, you should say so, Sumi-san!
Misumi: Ehehe, is that so? …Yeah, I’ll try and talk to him.
Misumi: Thanks, Kumon!
*Fireworks*
Kumon: Ah, fireworks!
Misumi: Yeah! Hey, hey, let’s go tell everyone!
Kumon: Yeah!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Kumon: Guys, there’s fireworks going on now~! You can see them from the roof!
Taichi: Ah, we were just talking about those!
Citron: Yaoya~!
Tasuku: It’s tamaya. (1)
Tsumugi: They set them off at a lot of festivals during the summer, don’t they?
Misumi: Yeah~. I wanna go see them with Madoka.
Kumon: That’s a great idea. You should invite him!
*LIME Notification*
Masumi: …Just sent you the location and dates for the festival on LIME, Misumi.
Tumblr media
Misumi: Really!? Thanks, Masumi~!
Masumi: It’s nothing. I was just looking into it to invite the Director to it.
Misumi: Still, thank you~.
Misumi: Ah, Madoka just replied!
*LIME*
Madoka: I’m fine, but why are you asking so suddenly?
△△△: Let’s go to a festival together, Madoka!
· ❀ —– ٠ ❀ ٠ —– ❀ ·
Misumi: Sorry for the wait, Madoka~. Your yukata really suits you!
Madoka: Thanks. Your’s suits you too.
Misumi: Ehehe, thanks! Well then, where should we start?
Madoka: The closest stall to us looks like a takoyaki stall.
Tumblr media
Misumi: Let’s get takoyaki then! I wonder if they’ll have triangle takoyaki~?
Madoka: Fufu, I think they’re usually pretty round though.
Misumi: What do you wanna get after takoyaki? Yakisoba~, karaage~, or maybe something sweet!
Madoka: Everything looks really good, but I’m sure we’d be full in no time from eating all those different things.
Misumi: Then we can split all of it!
Kazunari: …Oh my God, that convo. So many feels, man!
Muku: K-Kazu-kun, you’re gonna get us caught…!
Misumi: Hm? That voice sounded familiar…
Kumon: Wah, he turned this way!
Misumi: Huh, it’s Summer Troupe and Director-san!
Tenma: We’ve been caught…
Yuki: Well, that was clearly Kazunari’s fault.
Misumi: What are you guys doing here~?
Izumi: Well, when we heard that you were going to a festival with Madoka-kun, we got a little curious…
Muku: Sorry, we didn’t mean to intrude…!
Kumon: You were probably surprised that we just came out of nowhere, right? Sorry, Sumi-san and Madoka-san!
Madoka: No, it’s okay. You’re still all as friendly as usual.
Misumi: That’s true, but I think the reason you all came is because I’ve been a little off lately…
Tumblr media
Madoka: You have?
Misumi: Yeah, that’s why everyone’s been so worried about me.
Misumi: But it’s all okay! I’m doing so much better now, see!
Tenma: We know. You’ve been practically bouncing off the walls since you decided to go to the festival with Madoka.
Yuki: Well, either way, I wasn’t all that worried to begin with.
Kazunari: Seems like TenTen and Yukki aren’t being too honest right now~. You two were both just as worried as the rest of us were, weren’t you?
Tenma: S-Shut up!
Misumi: Thanks, guys~.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Choose!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Choice 1: You’re back to your usual self, Misumi-kun.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: You’re already back to your usual self, Misumi-kun. We’re relieved.
Kumon: Yeah, yeah! You were feeling so off that you were hardly talking about triangles.
Misumi: Now that I think about it, I haven’t looked for triangles in a while either! I wonder if I’ll find any new festival triangles.
Madoka: New festival triangles, huh…?
Muku: Wonder what that could be…?
Yuki: Maybe there’s some triangle prizes or something.
Kazunari: The sections of a pinwheel might look kinda triangular when they’re separated!
Tenma: You’re right.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Choice 2: Glad you’re feeling better.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: We’re really glad you’re feeling better, Misumi-kun.
Misumi: Was that why you asked me if something was wrong at breakfast that one day? Because you were worried about me?
Misumi: Sorry for not saying anything then.
Izumi: Don’t worry about it. We’re just glad you’re feeling better!
Tumblr media
Misumi: Thanks, Director-san.
Misumi: I was also really happy to have help from all of Summer Troupe and Masumi~.
Misumi: So next time something happens to you guys, I wanna return the favor!
Izumi: Fufu, that’s very Misumi-kun-like of you.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Muku: Ah, if we stay here for too long, we’re gonna get in the way of the two of them.
Kumon: You’re right, let’s get going!
Izumi: Well then, we’re gonna walk around a bit and then head home, so enjoy the festival, Misumi-kun and Madoka-kun.
Misumi: Kaaay, we’re gonna go then!
Madoka: Bye.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Misumi: Madoka~, c’mere, c’mere!
Madoka: Nii-san, you don’t have to pull so hard…!
Misumi: Masumi told me that we could see the fireworks better from this hill~.
Madoka: Eh? The fireworks--.
*Fireworks*
Tumblr media
Madoka: Waaah…!
Misumi: They’re so pretty~.
Madoka: Yeah, they’re really pretty…
Misumi: I’m glad you could come to the festival today, Madoka.
Misumi: We got to visit a lot of food stalls and we had a lot of fun chatting… It was reeeally fun.
Madoka: I think so too, Nii-san.
Madoka: The last summer festival was also a good memory.
Madoka: But I actually regretted that we didn’t get to spend that much time together.
Misumi: Really? So we felt the same way.
Madoka: …You too, Nii-san?
Misumi: Yeah! I wanted to have more fun with you, Madoka. That’s why I invited you to the festival today.
Madoka: Is that so… Thank you, Nii-san.
Misumi: You’re welcome! Let’s go to a festival again next year, Madoka.
Tumblr media
Madoka: …Yeah, let’s.

A Song from the Heart
Misumi: Who’s souvenir is this~? It’s a pretty triangle~
Izumi: Ah, that’s the perfume that we bought for Azuma.
Misumi: Cool~
Azuma: I’ll give it to you once it’s empty.
Misumi: Yay~!
Azuma: This has an unusual scent.
Kazunari: It smells so great! It’s SO Zafra!
Izumi: I was hoping you’d like it, but...
Azuma: I’ll use it. Thank you.
Izumi: And then for Sakyo-san, we were a little stumped, but we bought this.
Sakyo: A wallet?
Chikage: Zafran cloth is durable, so it won’t break even if you hoard 500-yen coins.
Sakyo: How did you know I’m collecting 500-yen coins?
Izumi: (So Sakyo-san’s saving up 500-yen coins...)
Tenma: How was Zafra? You did some sight-seeing too, right?
Sakuya: It was fun! Tsuzuru-kun’s older brother showed us around. We went to places like a suspicious antique store, a suspicious fortune-teller...
Tenma: They were all suspicious places?
Muku: There’s so many souvenirs too~!
Itaru: When you consider everyone, it ends up being a reasonable amount.
Taichi: I’m so jealous that you guys got to perform abroad!
Tsuzuru: Oh yeah, the Summer and Autumn Troupes haven’t been to Zafra yet.
Kumon: I wanna go someday!
Muku: Definitely!
Tenma: I want to try performing in a foreign country.
Kazunari: For sure!
Yuki: If we go, a place that’s not too hot, not too cold, safe, convenient, pretty, and reachable in less than five hours would be nice.
Tenma: Don’t be so unreasonable.
Citron: Everyone, this is big, so very huge!
Izumi: ? What’s wrong, Citron?
Citron: We have another performance!
Sakuya: Huh? A quartet performance?
Izumi: I didn’t hear anything about that, though.
Tsuzuru: Don’t tell me we’re going back to Zafra?
Citron: No, no! This performance is a festival performance!
Masumi: A festival performance...?
Itaru: By festival, you mean THAT festival?
Kazunari: What is it?? It sounds lit!
Citron: The Harugaoka Quartet has a performance in the Veludo Way Music Festival!
ーー
2
Sakuya: I haven’t touched an instrument in a while.
Tsuzuru: Me too, I haven’t opened the case since our performance ended.
Citron: Everybody went through the trouble to be able to play, so it will be a waste to let it rot away just like that~!
Citron: We must do a live performance!
Izumi: You guys certainly went through all the trouble to practice, so it could be a nice opportunity.
Itaru: Isn’t the performance this weekend?
Tsuzuru: Yeah.
Sakuya: Will we be able to play a song by then...?
Tsuzuru: Aside from Masumi, there’s no way.
Masumi: Then I’ll play alone. For you.
Izumi: In that case, the point would completely change!
Chikage: Tsuzuru and Sakuya can only play one part of “Spring,” so what will you do for the rest?
Itaru: I’ve got a sinking feeling you won’t survive your 10 minutes up there.
Citron: Worry not~ I will cover the rest with a solo!
Sakuya: What are you going to play?
Citron: We will undress my newly written piece!
Tsuzuru: Unveil(1), you mean. Wait, Citron-san, you can write music!?
Izumi: Amazing! You can even compose!
Citron: Well enough.
Itaru: Also, when did you...
Citron: I secretly wrote it during our performances!
Sakuya: What kind of piece is it?
Citron: Because I was supported by everyone in the Spring Troupe for this performance, I wrote it with gratitude thinking of everyone.
Izumi: Ooh~ I’m looking forward to it!
Masumi: I’ll write a love song dedicated to you too.
Tsuzuru: You don’t have time for that right now!
Masumi: I’ll manage somehow.
Chikage: The fact that he actually seems like he'll be able to manage it somehow is what's scary about Masumi.
Izumi: You can do that next time! For now, we need to get through the quartet part.
Masumi: ...got it.
Sakuya: I’ll do my best!
Citron: Starting today, we will do incentive chaining!
Itaru: Intensive training.(2)
Tsuzuru: This is gonna be harder than play practice...
ーー
3
Izumi: There’s always a lot of foot traffic on holidays, but there’s even more today!
Tsuzuru: Wow, surprisingly.
Itaru: Ah, there are food carts up too.
Chikage: I have to hit the food carts carrying super-spicy Asian food.
Tsuzuru: Glad the guys who aren’t performing are so care-free.
Izumi: Are you nervous, by chance?
Tsuzuru: I am. The atmosphere’s different from that of a theater stage, and this is the first time I’m doing something like a recital.
Itaru: There there.
Tsuzuru: Are you guys not!?
Sakuya: If we can do it like we did in practice, it’ll definitely be alright!
Izumi: You seem calm, Sakuya-kun.
Sakuya: I wouldn’t say I’m “calm” exactly, but I’m planning to play as if I were Yu Yoneda-kun.
Sakuya: That way, I’ll be able to stand on the stage feeling the same way that I do during our usual plays.
Tsuzuru: I get it.
Izumi: That’s a nice way of thinking.
Tsuzuru: I’ll try doing my best as if I were Katsumi Hino too.
Citron: Everyone, sphinx, sphinx~
Tsuzuru: You probably meant “relax,” but doesn’t that go beyond the scope of slip-ups!?
Masumi: It’s almost call time.
Izumi: Ah, we should get ready. Whose sheet music is this here?
Citron: It is mine~
Izumi: Huh? Is it fine for you to only have the quartet music? Where’s your solo?
Citron: When we were practicing in the training room this morning, it blew away in the wind~
Izumi: Eeh!? That’s bad! We have to look forー
Citron: I could not find it at all, so I gave up. I will play without the music.
Sakuya: You memorized the whole piece!? Amazing!
Citron: Honestly, I have a valkyrie.
Itaru: You mean a vague memory.(3)
Chikage: Will you be ok?
Masumi: So like we planned, I’ll play my love soー
Tsuzuru: No no no, that doesn't work either!
Citron: Worry not. Even if I do not remember the melody, the theme of the piece, everyone in the Spring Troupe, is always safe in my heart.
Citron: If I play what my heart wants to play, it will be ok!
Izumi: In Citron-kun’s heart...
Izumi: (Yeah, if everyone in the Spring Troupe can stay by his side, it’ll surely be fine.)
Host: Next up, the Spring Quartet!
Izumi: Everyone, break a leg up there!
Citron: ...
Masumi: ...
Tsuzuru: ...
Sakuya: ...
Izumi: (Alright, they’re a little nervous, but they’re managing to play like they did in rehearsal.)
Izumi: (Citron-kun and Masumi-kun are leading, so the balance is good, and the harmonies are pretty...)
Citron: ...
Izumi: (Citron-kun’s solo part starts here.)
Izumi: (The first section is a warm tune arranged from the melody of “Spring”...)
Citron: ー
Sakuya: ?
Izumi: (Huh? Citron-kun turned to face Sakuya-kun.)
Izumi: (The tune changed. A lively and positive melody that feels like it’s bouncing... is this melody by any chance Sakuya’s?)
Citron: ー
Masumi: ...
Izumi: (Next up is Masumi-kun. A quick-tempoed allegro centered on technique. A change from the stiff tune, resolving into a gentle melody...)
Izumi: (He’s expressing how Masumi-kun’s opened his heart to everyone in the Spring Troupe.)
Citron: ー
Tsuzuru: ...
Izumi: (This is Tsuzuru-kun. The warm and melodious tune is altered and repeated over and over.)
Izumi: (Does this represent Tsuzuru-kun as our scriptwriter?)
Citron: ー
Itaru: ...
Izumi: (I wonder if it’s Itaru-san this time. It’s kind of like a background track from an RPG.)
Izumi: (It goes from a melody that’s like flying without a care, to the boss character’s entrance... heheh, it’s so Itaru-san.)
Citron: ー
Chikage: ...
Izumi: (This is Chikage-san. A slightly complex melody in a minor key... harmony from dissonance... a change into a sweet tune...)
Izumi: (It feels like Chikage-san.)
Citron: ...
Izumi: (Who does it represent now?)
Citron: ...
Izumi: ?
Izumi: (Citron-kun’s looking this way. Is this melody, perhaps... me?)
Izumi: (Everyone’s melodies are sprinkled throughout it, like it’s wrapping everything up...)
Izumi: (So this is Citron-kun’s impression of me. I’m kind of happy.)
Citron: ...
Izumi: (Surely, everyone in the Spring Troupe exists in Citron-kun. The time we’ve spent together until now is piling up and taking form.)
Izumi: ...hm?
Izumi: (This is...)
Izumi: Zuizui Zukkorobashi!?(4)
Chikage: Is this the finale?
Itaru: It checks out.
Audience A: Ahahaha!
Audience B: Why here!?
Audience C: That’s so funny~!
Citron: Everyone, I thank you for listening~!
Izumi: (Closing such a lovely piece with a laugh... how very Citron-kun.)
STORY CLEAR
ーー
Notes:
1. Citron says “ウイロー” (uiroo, willow). Tsuzuru corrects him with “披露” (hirou). 2. Citron says “徳くん” (toku-kun), which Itaru corrects as “特訓” (tokkun). 3. Citron originally said “ウロボロス” (uroborosu, ouroboros), the symbol of a snake that eats its own tail forever. I really wanted his mistake in English to have a similar feel so I’m glad I was able to work that out! Itaru corrects him with “うろ覚え” (urooboe). 4. The same nursery rhyme that Citron plays in the event story.

Hey, if you want to (you don‘t have to through) could you maybe write a Muku x Reader, in which Muku‘s crush writes him a anonymous love letter but he recognizes his crush’s handwriting? But if you don’t to write it for Muku, than it can be somebody else! Like idk... Juza or Sakuya (that would have been cute too). Everybody’s just great🥺❤️ Have a great day!~ (*´꒳`*)🌸
Sorry for the delay, love. You are the sweetest thing! I don’t really mind if reader is the same age, also crushes are the cutest thing so... Muku it is! 💕
Hope you enjoy!
Title: Love letter
Pairing: Muku Sakisaka x reader
“I don’t know Yuki-kun, I’m sure Sakyo-san also wants the play to be a success. Why would he try to make it difficult?”
With school hours finally ended for the day, both middle schoolers talked as they prepared to go back to the dorm.
Yuki clicked his tongue “If he wanted the performance to be good he should at least be more lenient with the budget” he mused opening his locker, already making a mental list of the materials he would have to buy to make up for the cut he had been informed in the morning “That money grabbing yakuza… he could at least think how much work is to piece everything together”
“I-I’m sure you’ll do an amazing job! We’ll all make sure to help if it gets too much!”
“Of course I was already counting on it. I haven’t been training you all for nothing”
Muku laughed nervously at his retort.
“Muku-kun!”
His heart made a leap at the unexpected sound of your voice. Turning around, he found you running in his direction from the crowded hall.
“Y/N-san?”
Once you managed to catch up you held a hand up, asking silently for a few seconds to regain breath. Finally you lifted your head, cheeks slightly flushed from the sprint “Sorry, I wanted to give back the volume you let me before you left!”
“Ah, you shouldn’t have had to bother coming all the way!” Muku stuttered, taking the manga from your hands and holding it against his chest. He glanced at you hopeful “Um... What did you think about it?”
You clapped your hands, beaming “Oh, I couldn’t put it down! The main character was so sweet it made me want to cheer for them so much!”
Muku felt his previous tension being released. He had been the one who had recommended it after all. He smiled happily “I thought so too! T-the way the festival had…”
As always happened when he talked to you lately, Muku hoped he wasn’t blushing too much or sounded too weird. It had been a few months since you both started exchanging romance novels due to mutual interest and the more you got to know each other, the more Muku noticed he had developed quite the crush on you.
“I see you guys are leaving already. Practice?”
Muku played with the string of his schoolbag, self-consciously “W-well, spring troupe is next so we usually make street acts for the time being until Tsuzuru-san writes ours- ah, he’s the person I told you that writes such wonderful stories!”
“Oh! I hope summer comes soon then” you chuckled, making Muku’s stomach stir “I have to go now too, see you both tomorrow!” .
Once you were out of sight, Yuki glanced at the former athlete sighing with a hand placed in his chest and rolled his eyes “Why don’t you just invite them somewhere? I doubt they’d say no”
“Uh?”
“Y/N” his pointed the way you had left with his chin “You are painfully obvious, you know”
Muku waved his arms neglectingly, flushing “I-I can’t! If only I had the charismatic aura of Itaru-san or the elegance of Citron-sama b-but I don’t have any of those qualities and...!
“I keep telling you those two are the worst examples you should be trying to learn from”
He kept shaking his head stubbornly. You had become someone he truly admired for always doing their best. Your approach and attitude were so nice, so warm...  The thought of dating was too much! “A-anyway, shouldn’t we hurry to get to the dorm?”
Yuki squinted his eyes, but opted to shrug it off “Sure, I need to change before going to that thrift shop by Veludo Station. Last time the worker there showed me some…”
Muku relaxed inwardly, seeing Yuki was already on work mode. As he opened the locker to change his shoes though, something white fell from inside. He crouched down to the floor to retrieve it “A letter?”
He turned it, but saw no sign anywhere, which made him tilt his head confused. Why was a letter inside…?
Something clicked in his head as he stood up, blue eyes staring at the white envelope.
It couldn’t be real. He must be daydreaming.
“Maybe I could even- Muku?”
Oh god, what if he had been transported to one of his mangas? What if he now had to overcome the plot of the story to be able to get back and…?
“Hey! Earth to Muku, geez!”
Snapping out of it, he finally focused on the annoyed green-haired in front of him “Yuki-kun…? Have you also been transported into the manga world?”
“What are you talking about” the young designer sighed, crossing his arms over his chest when he noticed the envelope “Was that inside your locker?”
“You can see it too?!”
“Of course I can idiot. You didn’t have that before”
Muku nodded to himself blinking at the letter. So he wasn’t imagining it…
“Well, aren’t you going to open it?” Yuki leaned his back on the lockers, bending curiously.
“Yuki-kun”
“Mhm”
“I-I can’t”
                                           -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
“Mucchan received a WHAT?!”
“Could you say it any louder, you idiotic dog? It’s just a letter, who cares”
“Mukkun, I’m shook!” as Taichi kept crying about wanting to find love too, Kazunari jumped in completely elated “Isn’t this like the highlight of your school life mangas in real life? You def have to open it!”
Taichi’s reactions and Kazunari’s comments didn’t reach Muku, still zoning in and out of the conversation. After a long banter in school, he hadn’t had the guts to open the letter, so Yuki decided for him to take it home and give him time to process the situation.
Which is the reason he was now sitting on the couch in the middle of the lounge, surrounded.
It was true he had often dreamed of love letters. Who wouldn’t? They were so romantic! To receive a handwritten confession maybe even in poetry professing an undying love, rushing off to a midnight rendezvous with one’s true love… the mere thought made Muku swoon.
But one thing was his imagination, and another one real life, as much as he sometimes mixed both.
To think something like that actually happened to him didn’t feel real.
“I…I already told Yuki-kun this must be a mistake” he murmured fidgeting, not able to take his eyes off the yet-to-be-open envelope on the table “Who would want to write to someone who is a half-pint, small, dried-up stale beansprout like me?”
“You sure s’not a letter for a challenge, right” Juza grumbled from the other couch, throwing daggers to the letter.
“J-juza-san?!”
“Why am I not surprised that’s your first thought, Standard Gangster”
Muku lifted his head gasping with eyes wide open, scared “I-I hadn’t even think about that! What if I did something and now they are looking for revenge and…!”
“S’okay, Muku” Juza stopped him, cracking his knuckles “I’ll take care of ‘em if that’s the case”
“Whoa, whoa, hold on, dude!” Kazunari laughed nervously, placing a hand his shoulder to calm him down “Before we decide it’s something like that, how about opening it?”
“Mr. Extrovert is right for once” Yuki rested his chin on the back on his hand “You are taking too long”
As everyone watched expectantly, Muku glanced at the letter once more, swallowing with difficulty. Even just looking at it made his heartbeat go wild. He shook his head, took a deep breath, and carefully tore the edges apart.
The first thought that came to his mind was the fact that the colour of the paper was the same as his hair.
Then, the fact that his whole face was probably heating up after he read his name.
“Mucchan?”
“Just tell me who I have to beat up”
The summer troupe member lifted his head flustered, forgetting where he was “S-sorry I- it’s okay, Ju-chan! um, it’s not that type of letter!”
As he kept reading the content, Muku felt his heart ringing in his ears as well as the heat reaching and warming his cheeks. The message of the letter was definitely a confession worthy of a manga and the way he was being described… nothing could compare to what he was feeling at that moment, eyes fixed on the letter, practically glowing.
By the second read though, he noticed something weird. A somewhat familiar feeling, as if he had read this before.
He read it again. What was it?
“Let me see, let me see!” Kazunari soon moved to his side, reading with him and whistling “Mukkun whoever this is you have to find them, this is totes cute!”
He didn’t answer, still in deep thought. This handwriting… where had he…?
You.
A flashback of him looking at your notes in class and thinking how beautiful your handwriting looked crossed his mind. Muku covered his mouth from the sudden revelation.
“Muku!?”
“You okay, Mukkun?”
If he was blushing before, his face must now be a downright crimson mess.
Could it be a joke? Or was he daydreaming again? B-but that WAS your handwriting. He had caught himself so many times staring that it.
He checked once more afraid. No, it definitely was yours.
“B-but Y/N-san, they…”
“Y/N?” the surprise on Yuki’s face when he heard your name was palpable. He grabbed the letter, smiling at the end “Well, aren’t you lucky Wonder Boy”
“Who’s Y/N?”
“Ah, Muku’s crush”
“WAIT- MUKKUN’S!?”
“MUCCHAN’S?!”
“Muku, you…”
“W-wait, what if they did this as a way to test my acting? O-or to try to recreate a scene for a new manga?” his mind kept rejecting the idea “They said they wanted to see our performance, what if tomorrow they keep asking me what happened today and I can’t act naturally and then they think I was spying on them only to be told that-!
“Muku, please” Yuki rolled his eyes “As if someone like them would do this as a prank”
The young actor looked around everyone in the room insecure and then again at your letter, taking it with both hands carefully “It’s just… I’m just me” he finally whispered.
Kazunari chuckled softly, ruffling his hair.
“Well, that’s plenty for us, you know it! And judging by the letter it’s the same for them”
                                           -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Next day Muku paced around the entrance of the school, waiting for you. No matter how many mangas he had read, nothing had given him the answer for how to act.
Was this how the heroines felt? His lower body was barely being able to sustain him.
“Muku-kun, you called for me?”
Okay, stay calm Muku. Y-you got this! He forced himself not to let his nerves show as you walked up “Y-yeah! Um, do you have a moment to talk?”
“Sure?” you tilted your head curiously.
He had to avert his gaze “t-The thing is, um; yesterday this was on my locker…” Muku took out the letter from his pocket, praying for a reaction.
You stared at it dumbfounded, and for the first time, Muku saw your cheeks growing slightly red. He kept talking “I… I somehow recognized your handwriting! S-so I wanted to say that I too-!”
He couldn’t finish as he watched you covering your face, which caused him to frown confused “Y-Y/N-san...?”
“Please hide me” Muku could tell your ears were bright red at this point “Sorry, this is not… it wasn’t…”
You groaned to yourself. You worked so hard to not let it show, appearing even before he saw the letter and your handwriting was what gave it away in the end…? Talk about embarrassment.
“Ugh, I’m so lame”
“It wasn’t lame! Not at all!” Muku’s heart squeezed, talking louder than he had imagined, but he wanted to make his point clear this time. Lame was the last thing that could have crossed his mind when he read it “You are so cool and the letter was beautiful!”
“I-It was…?”
He nodded although you couldn’t see him “Y/N-san” you felt his hands holding yours, taking them away from your face. Once you couldn’t hide anymore you looked up, a blushing Muku welcoming you with a warm smile.
“If you are okay with me, would... would you like to meet up sometime?”
He really looked like a prince.

Twin Kingdoms (A3! Event story) - Chapter 8
Tumblr media
The last few chapters are going to take me a bit longer. Sorry!
Chapter 7 | Index | Chapter 9
Shift: That was the kettle just now? Haruto: Yeah. Shift: The stubbornness and that she's not honest about her own feelings - that's just like you. Shift: Do you not go home to your family at all? Haven't you talked about your hometown in an interview before? Haruto: That was for the "setting" I'd established as Asuka Haruto. I don't go home for either Obon [1] or the New Year, nor do I call. Shift: So not even once have you thought of calling? Haruto: .......
That first Winter after I'd started living alone in Tokyo, I searched for theatre troupes to join while making ends meet with part-time jobs. It was an excessively cold room, in a wooden apartment building. There was a terrible draught and because my futon was thin as well, I caught a cold.
Figuring I'd recover right away, I brushed it aside - and immediately got worse. I suffered because of the fever and wondered whether I'd simply die alone, without anybody knowing and without having achieved my dream. Just when I tried to at least call my mother before dying, the eletric kettle left in a corner of the room suddenly caught my eye.
At the same time, my mother's voice came back to me. This wouldn't do.
If I died because of a worsening cold, I had to at least become a famous enough actor so that it would be featured widely on the news and reach my mother, or there would be no meaning to having thrown away my hometown to move to Tokyo. I picked myself up somehow and drank the tea I'd boiled with the teapot to ward off the coldness, and I braved my cold.
From then on, I worked even harder. I also attended a lot of auditions.
It was then, while I was studying acting and watching the performances of every theatre company on Veludo Way, that I met the GOD Troupe.
I thought of them as the theatre company of fate. A beautiful world like the one I had seen in my dreams since I was young. A sublime and wonderful world filled with all my ideals. From that moment on, I could no longer think of anything aside from standing on that troupe's stage.
At the audition, I showed off my enthusiasm like mad and was somehow allowed to become a trainee... I was a low-ranked student at the beginning and was admonished for my intonation habit again and again, but I desperately fixed it. I even considered that I might not be suited for performances using the standard language, but little by little, my utmost efforts bore fruit, and I was able to be promoted to a regular troupe member.
If I kept working hard like that, I might be able to become the top one day. Then, I would invite my mother to a play with me as lead.
The moment I renewed my determination, an actor who had joined after me named Takato Tasuku rapidly distinguished himself and climbed all the way to the top seat.
We came to act together and I was amazed by Tasuku's acting junkieness and his talent. His genius was overwhelmingly different from mine. As long as Tasuku was there, I feared that I might never be able to reach the top.
Then, I will never be able to invite my mother to a play. Even so, I kept giving it my all and have made it this far, and if I do better than Tasuku does, I will surely surpass him someday. That was my belief, and I continued as an actor.
One day, all performing actors got harshly scolded by Reni-san. After practice, I left the practice room with everyone and pretended to go home, but carried a key with me and secretly returned to the practice room alone. I was always staying behind and practicing on my own like that.
But for some reason, on that day, the door was unlocked. When I opened the door, Tasuku was there. When our eyes met, he called out to me somewhat happily, "You're staying late too?"
When I looked at him, who possessed a lot of qualities that I didn't and yet, always put hard work in as well, it irritated me.
Shift: So, did you end up practicing with Tasuku-san? Haruto: No way. I told him I'd left something behind and went home. Shift: That's so like you. Haruto: After that, I thought that I couldn't surpass Tasuku with just the amount of practice alone, so I listened to every word Reni-san said and worked hard to gain his trust. Haruto: I also tried my best at fanservice for customers, which Tasuku was reprimanded about most by Reni-san. Haruto: I was planning on someday overtaking him by slowly increasing the things I could win at outside of acting. Haruto: But that was the very moment when Tasuku suddenly left the GOD Troupe. Haruto: And with the kind of look that seemed to have no regrets whatsoever, he just threw away the top seat that I'd wanted so much and worked hard enough for to bleed. Haruto: After that, I lost to him in two act-offs, too. Haruto: With the collaboration play, I thought the time had finally come, but in the end, the result is the same. Haruto: Tasuku keeps growing as an actor, gets complimented by Reni-san and as always, doesn't slack off. Haruto: Someone who already has talent, gets to be a junkie about effort too. No, he who already has everything, even has the talent to work hard. Haruto: If I can't win against him with talent, and can't win with the amount of effort.... I might never be able to catch up to him in my entire life. Haruto: ....Argh, I had no intention of talking about this. Shift: I realised immediately that you were a hardworking person, Haruto-san. Shift: I don't think of it as bad at all, and when I look at people who do their best, it makes me like them even more. Haruto: It is my own practical branch of learning to not want to show my no. 1 rival my hardworking appearance. Shift: Even if that's the case for Tasuku-san, you don't have to conceal your efforts from me, who will be standing on stage with you together forever. Shift: Instead, if looking at you can make me think of trying even harder, I might want you to show me your hardworking appearance. Haruto: ....Alright, I shall do that for you. Though it's a pain. Shift: Do you have to say it like that?~ Shift: Oh, that's right! This is a message from Tasuku-san. Haruto: What? Shift: "Since the rehearsals for this performance started and I got to practice with you after a long time, I have been inspired once again." Shift: "Your efforts day by day, and your attitude to perfectly fix what Reni-san has pointed out until the following day..." Shift: "Playing the co-lead alongside a lead with a high level of awareness is rewarding and fun." Shift: "To me, Haruto is a rival that I don't want to lose against, and that is something that hasn't changed since my time at the GOD Troupe, so get some good rest and return soon!" Haruto: --. Shift: Ah, right, Tasuku-san told me to buy some ice cream, so I got some. I will put it in the freezer. Haruto: Why ice cream in this goddamn cold? Shift: It's delicious when you eat it right after getting out of the bath. Please have some congee before it gets cold. Haruto: ...Thanks for the meal. Haruto: ...I haven't had porridge since my mother made it for me when I was sick. Shift: It was on my mind when you were talking about the eletric kettle before, but... Shift: I'm sure your mother is wishing for you to succeed as an actor and is curious about your acting. Haruto: I was thinking of inviting her once I'd been selected for the lead role someday.... Haruto: But I didn't really feel like inviting her to a play with me as lead that came around as a windfall because Tasuku quit the GOD Troupe. Haruto: And immediately after that, I was demoted. Shift: This is just a guess, but "Fervent Islands" was on a national network, so wouldn't she have seen that? Haruto: I didn't tell her I'd appear, so unlikely. Shift: I'm sure she did. I'm sure she watched it over and over again. For a while, my mother would watch it every night with my little brother. Haruto: ...... Shift: I'm sure she'd happily come to see our new play too. Since you're the lead. Haruto: It was sold out on the spot. Anyway, there's no way she could get a ticket. Shift: We'll send her an invitation then. Haruto: No, we won't. Stop poking your nose into other people's family matters. Shift: ....Sorry, I was too pushy. Haruto: ...But it might be nice to stand on stage with her planning to come. Feels motivating. Shift: That's right! Shift: So, as for my reasons for aspiring to be an actor.... Haruto: I'm done eating the porridge, so I'm going to sleep. Shift: Aww, how mean. Haruto: Tell me all about it next time. Shift: Got it. Get some proper rest!~

A3! Sakisaka Muku - +3Ghosts! Mini Conversations Translation
Tumblr media
*Please read disclaimer on blog

Practise Conversation 1
Tumblr media
A dance scene in the play… I’m nervous but also happy to be able to dance together with everyone again.
We’ve come up with various ideas in our meetings, like “how about putting this kind of dance in”.
Misumi-san is also teaching us tricks for acrobatic moves—.
And Kazu-kun and Kyu-chan are both telling us about dance lesson videos, so they’ll become great reference.
I also want to diligently do special dance training, help Misumi-san who’s the lead and Kyu-chan who’s the co-lead, and make it a wonderful performance!
Practise Conversation 2
Tumblr media
Yuki-kun said that this time, he tried to make our costumes street-style.
Normally, I don’t really wear these types of clothes so it feels fresh.
My costume especially has a similar feel to the clothing Taichi-kun’s usually wearing, and somehow that makes me happy…
When I told this to Taichi-kun, he showed me various fashion magazines that he’s always reading.
Reading the magazines together while talking about things like “this one is cool”, and “I admire things like this”, was really fun and I learned from it!
Taichi-kun said he’d bring me to the shop that he usually goes to buy his clothes at next time, so I’m really looking forward to it.
Practise Conversation 3
Tumblr media
1, 2, 3… Step, jump…
Turn, and 1, 2—!
*dances*
…!
Just now, I could do it, right!
I was finally able to do it well!
…Eh, ah woah! S-sorry!
I grabbed Director’s hand…!
But… I’m really glad since this step was hard, and I wasn’t quite able to do it the way I wanted!
The fact that I’m able to do it is all thanks to the various advice I received from everyone, and Director who accompanied me for voluntary practise.
Thank you very much!
I’ll practice even more in this way,
And do my best to be able to do it perfectly in the actual show as well!
Muku & Tsumugi Talk
Tumblr media
Tsumugi: At Veludo Way, I saw a notice for Veludo City's summer festival.
Muku: Wahh, a summer festival… That’s so nice! There will also be street stalls and stuff, right?
Tsumugi: It seems like it. Muku-kun, before you said you liked baby castella cakes, right?
Muku: Yes, that’s right! I’m always buying those at festivals. What kind of stalls does Tsumugi-san like?
Tsumugi: Hmm well… Classic ones like Takoyaki, I also like candied apples… Ah, sweet roasted chestnuts are also delicious, right?
Muku: Sweet roasted chestnuts, I like those too! Fishing for water yo-yos and target practise games are also nice.
Tsumugi: During the Star festival, I attempted the ring toss. It was quite difficult, and I couldn’t do it very well but… Next time if I see it, I want to get my revenge.
Muku: Wahh, good luck with that!
Tsumugi: The fireworks on stage, various street stalls… This year’s summer festival also seems it’ll be exciting.
Muku: Yes! I'm really looking forward to it.

Yearn | a3!
synosis; you couldn’t help yourself, you were just so taken with the most beautiful things and he happened to fit your aesthetic.
features; you and yukishiro azuma
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Summer festivals and equally crowded places were never your scene. You preferred the quiet over the bustling crowds and you were definitely never a fan of the stuffy heat of summer nights. Unfortunately for you, this was the season that your job constantly required you to be present in the exact places you wished to avoid.
Tonight, one of the more popular festivals was meant to take place near Veludo, a place you’ve rarely ever visited due to the fact that you tended to stay near Tokyo. It was somewhat refreshing to have a change of scenery even if it weren’t exactly the countryside ideal you dreamed of. It was at least bound to be way less crowded in comparison to the populated streets of Tokyo.
The ambience of the night was filled with the mixed chatter of the many festival-goers accompanied by the faint buzzing of cicadas. Each breath of air you inhaled carried the scent of fried foods and the tangy smell of the nearby river. You wouldn’t go as far as to call this your most peaceful job venue, being forced to attend crowded events really weren’t your cup of tea, but you could admit it was fairly relaxing.
Unlike your initial assumption of this event being unbearably packed, it was surprisingly not as populated as you thought it would be. Especially after being told by your boss that it was a festival many residents in the area attended. It wasn’t as if you arrived too early either, it was a good two hours in and the fireworks were set to start in thirty minutes. You hoped that you hadn’t shown up at the wrong festival.
With practiced ease, you snaked your way through various yukata clad figures as you murmured insincere apologies. One of your hands held tightly onto the heavy Nikon camera strapped around your neck while your other pressed against the black satchel hanging close to your hip in an effort to press it closer to you. It was only until you neared a small intersection of assorted stalls that you were finally given enough personal space to relax.
Your lips part and a breathy sigh escapes as you idly glance down at your wristwatch only to be disappointed. There was still a substantial amount of time you still needed to pass before the show. Deciding to waste as much time as you could preparing your camera for the anticipated fireworks event, you lifted your camera slightly up before allowing your fingers to go work. You’ve done this kind of thing so many times that you could adjust the levels and exposure settings without even looking. Still, you could find the magic in routines.
You were prone to be easily taken by things you considered to be beautiful. It was a trait that your boss often joked to be a part of your ‘creative nature’ and you could admit that your interest in aesthetics often distracted you numerous times while on the job. It was a terrible habit of yours, but one that you could also appreciate as it was due to that unique interest that many of your best photos were taken.
The moment you lifted your gaze from the LCD screen of your camera, you were once more faced with a breathtaking sight.
There, standing beneath colored glass wind chimes, was possibly the most beautiful man you’d ever seen. Long white hair styled into a loose ponytail which draped over his shoulder and alluringly elegant figure clad in a geometric printed pale blue yukata. Soft yellow light, emitting from the many strung up lanterns lighting the festival path, shrouded him in an almost ethereal glow. His utterly serene appearance was enough to place you into a momentary daze.
You knew your staring was lingering long enough to be considered rude and any more it would start dipping into becoming creepy, but you couldn’t help it. Not when it felt as if looking away for even a second would mean the disappearance of this beautiful man. Your fingers clenched tightly to the heavy camera in your hands, the urge to snap a photo rising with every passing moment.
It was only until his eyes lowered away from the windchimes he was staring at, hand still outstretched as his fingers grazed the decorative tail end of a multicolored chime. His gaze quickly met yours almost as if he instinctively knew you were the one unabashedly staring at him. The gentle smile that curved at his lips and was displayed in your direction further served to ignite your creative senses.
With a startled blink and an embarrassed flush coloring your cheeks, there was only one passing thought that seemed to feed into your unspoken desire.
You needed to take a picture of him.

Misumi: There.
Izumi: Oh, Misumi-kun, are you going out too?
Tumblr media
Misumi: Mhm, I’ve got my part-time job! You’re going somewhere too, Director-san~?
Izumi: I’ve been invited to go to a gathering in the shopping district.
Misumi: Shopping district? What are you gonna do there?
Izumi: I’ll tell you about it as we walk.
Misumi: Okay!
Azuma: Oh, you two headed somewhere? Take care.
Misumi: Bye!
Izumi: See you later.

Omi: Do you want one too, Misumi?
Misumi: Yes, please!
Omi: Got it, just give me a sec.
Taichi: Mmh~! So cold, sweet, and awesome! Now THIS is summer~.
Kumon: Snow cones at summer festivals are great, but eating them like this with all your favorite toppings is even better!
Taichi: That reminds me, Veludo Way usually has all kinds of festivals in the summer. I wonder if there’ll be one this year too?
Azuma: They do them every year, so there must be one, right?
Misumi: I hope so~!
Kumon: If there is one, I wanna go!
Tumblr media
Misumi: (…Back during “+3Ghosts!” I didn’t get to enjoy the festival with Madoka.)
Misumi: (If there is a summer festival now, I hope we can enjoy it together this time.)
Omi: Thanks for waiting, Misumi. Here’s your snow cone.
Misumi: Waaah~! It’s a triangle mountain with lotsa triangle toppings!
Omi: Haha, I put triangular watermelon and triangular jellies on top.
Misumi: Yay, yaaay, it looks super yummy! Thanks, Omi! Lemme try it.
Misumi: Mmh~, it’s so good~!
Azuma: Fufu, seems like you’re in a good mood. It’s kind of nice to see.
Izumi: We’re home.
Masumi: We’re home.
Omi: Welcome back.
Taichi: Huh, were you two out together?
Masumi: We were guided together by fate. I always knew Director and I were tied together by a red string of fate….
Izumi: We just happened to bump into each other by the front door.
Misumi: Director-san, what was the favor the people from the shopping district wanted to ask~?
Azuma: A favor? Did something happen?

Izumi: Tenma-kun!
Tenma: Hm?
Izumi: Sorry to catch you on your way out. Do you have a second?
Tenma: I still have some time, so it’s fine. What is it?
Izumi: Actually, “VELUDO” requested MANKAI Company for a cover page again.
Tenma: Oh, the local theatre magazine? This would be the third time our members appeared on the cover.
Izumi: Right. Fortunately, it seems like the first two times were popular.
Izumi: This time they’d like Tenma-kun to be on the cover.
Tenma: Sure, that’s no problem.
Izumi: Well then, I’ll check with Igawa-san and go ahead and accept the offer if there’s no issue.
Tenma: Got it.
Tenma: But, why do they want me on the cover in particular? There weren't any specific member requests before.
Izumi: It seems that the kimono designer, who’s being featured in this issue, really wanted Tenma-kun as the model.
Tenma: Kimono designer?
Izumi: The designer said he’s provided costumes for Tenma-kun’s roles as a child actor. He also mentioned dressing you for photoshoots.
Tenma: Costumes… as a child actor…
Tenma: Oh, that drama? Brings back memories.
Tenma: (So that designer is located in Veludo, huh…. I had no clue.)
-
Tenma: I’m home.
Izumi: Welcome back!
Kazunari: Tenten, perfect timing!
Citron: It’s a flying summer samurai!*
Tsuzuru: It's flying summer insect! I mean, that doesn’t make much sense either.
Azuma: We’ve been waiting for you, Tenma.
Banri: I almost sent you a LIME.
Tenma: Do you need me for something?
Izumi: It’s about “VELUDO”, which I mentioned to you this morning. We’re gathering the members who will participate in the photoshoot.
Tenma: Ah, I see.
Kazunari: This time, Tenten’s already been chosen as the cover model.
Banri: Really? The past two MANKAI Company’s been in had two cover models.
Izumi: Yeah, there will be two cover models this time too. Tenma-kun and someone else.
Kazunari: I wanna decide the other model when we’re actually taking the photos!
Azuma: Not knowing until we try is an interesting idea.
Citron: They did the same thing before! The models weren’t chosen until after the photoshoot~
Izumi: Our theatre company is also going to be featured on the feature page for the festival the Veludo Shopping District is sponsoring.
Kazunari: Since the kimono shop from the shopping district is preparing us Japanese clothes, I wanna wear them and join in on the festival!
Tenma: Is that the same kimono shop that chose me as the cover model?
Kazunari: That’s right! It seems like it’s being featured ‘cause it just opened.
Tsuzuru: A summer festival, huh. That sounds fun.
Izumi: Ah, but…
*citron says 武士/ぶし (samurai) and tsuzuru corrects him with 虫/むし (insect)

Tenma: You’re really just like how I used to be.
Tenma: I also used to think that I didn’t need any friends. But now I don’t.
Chihiro: Why is that?
Tenma: Because now, I have true friends, who understand me.
Tenma: There’s someone out there for you too. So talk to lots of people and find the ones who are like you.
Tenma: And when you find them… No matter how busy you are, you should always take good care of your friends.
Chihiro: People who will teach me, friends…
Tenma: And well, if you do get busy, they’ll probably just get rowdy rather than leave.
Chihiro: ….Then, will Sumeragi-san be my friend? If it’s you then I--.
Tenma: Yeah, of course. I’ll be your first friend.
Chihiro: !
Chihiro: T-Thank you so much! I’m so happy…!
Citron: Oh~, I found them!
Kazunari: Our break is almost over, so c’mon guys!
Tenma: It’s time already?
Tenma: Let’s go, Chihiro.
Chihiro: ….Yeah!
-
Shooting Staff: We’ve finished shooting! Everyone, thank you for all of your hard work today!
Izumi: Thank you for your help today, too.
Members: Thank you very much!
Chihiro: Thank you very much!
Chihiro: ...Sumeragi-san.
Tenma: What is it?
Chihiro: Um, I want you to teach me how to use LIME--.
Tenma: Really? Of course I will. I’m your first friend, after all.
Chihiro: That’s great...! Thank you, Sumeragi-san.
Tenma: About that. Since we’re friends, it’s fine to call me Tenma from now on.
Chihiro: …!
Chihiro’s Manager: Chihiro-kun, I’m here to pick you up. Everyone, thank you for today.
Chihiro: I appreciate all of your help today! I learned so much. Thank you!
Izumi: I should be the one saying that. Thank you for today.
Chihiro’s Manager: Chihiro-kun, it’s time to go home.
Chihiro: Ah, one second please.
Chihiro: Tenma-san, onii-sans. Thank you for playing with me today!
Chihiro: I had a lot of fun! Bye bye!
Banri: What’s this, is he suddenly acting his age?
Azuma: Fufu, waving like that, how cute.
Izumi: Well then, let’s also head out soon.
Kazunari: We’ll have to change out of our yukatas~!
Tsuzuru: Seems like it.
*tenma’s phone buzzes*
Tenma: Hm? It’s a LIME from Chihiro.
Citron: What does it say?
Tenma: “I’m looking forward to co-starring again someday. Until that time comes, I’ll do my best.”
Tenma: “Also, thank you for teaching me how to catch goldfish quickly! Next time, please tell me about yo-yo fishing.”...Is what he said.
Citron: Tenma, have you ever yo-yo fished before?
Tenma: …...I haven’t.
Citron: Then I shall teach you! Follow me!
Tenma: Now!?
Citron: Yes! Posthaste~!
Citron: Director, we’ll catch up soon. You all go on ahead~!
Kazunari: Woah, there they go.
Banri: I guess he did say they’ll catch up later.
Izumi: Mhm, that’s true.
-
Citron: Two people, good sir!
Stall Owner: Sure.
Citron: This is a koyuri!
Tenma: I see. So it’s called a koyuri…
Stall Owner: No, that’s wrong. It’s a koyori.
Citron: That’s it!
Tenma: (....He remembered it wrong.)
Citron: I’ll go now, so make sure to watch, Tenma!
Tenma: Okay, got it.
Tumblr media
Citron: You catch it by hooking this paper hook to the rubber ring attached to the balloon!
Citron: Like this--!
Tenma: Uwa, you’re splashing the water…!
Citron: See, I caught it! Tenma goes next!
Tenma: Unlike goldfish, the yo-yos don’t run away. This seems easier.
Tenma: Hook it here….Ok, I’ll lift it….ngh!
Tenma: Ah……
Citron: ….It ripped. You said it was easy~.
Tenma: Oi, if it rips this easy doesn’t that just mean it’s defective?
Citron: That’s what yo-yo fishing is all about! It’s surprisingly difficult for beginners.
Tenma: Damn it...That’s it, I’m going one more time! One, sir.
Stall Owner: Okie-doke.
Citron: Tenma, do your best to get revenge~!
Tenma: This time, I’ll definitely catch it!

Tenma: (Chihiro, where are you…)
Child A: Aw~ it broke.
Child B: I wanted to scoop some more.
Tenma: ….Ah.
Chihiro: …..
Tenma: (He’s watching those kids scoop goldfish...?)
Tenma: What are you doing here?
Chihiro: Ah, Sumeragi-san. So you were looking for me…. I’m sorry for getting lost.
Tenma: No, it’s my fault for losing sight of you. I was worried about you being all alone.
Tenma: I just messaged Citron and Kazunari on LIME. I’m sure they’re relieved I found you too.
Chihiro: I’m sorry. I’ll have to apologize to those two later.
Tenma: …..
Tenma: We’ve still got some time. Since we came all this way, why don’t we scoop some goldfish?
Chihiro: Eh? But, I’ve never done that before…
Tenma: That’s okay. I’ll teach you.
Chihiro: Then… I’d like to try.
Tenma: Alright. Go ask the shopkeeper for two poi.
Chihiro: Okay.
Chihiro: What is this?
Tenma: This is called a ‘poi’. You use it to scoop goldfish.
Tenma: I’ll go first, so watch closely.
Chihiro: Okay.
Tenma: (Right, the trick Yuki taught me for scooping goldfish was… Don’t chase them, just put the poi at an angle.)
Tenma: This way, you shorten your arm distance and… now!
Tenma: (Yes! I got it!)
Chihiro: Amazing, Sumeragi-san!
Tenma: Well, it’s me after all.
Tenma: Chihiro, do you want to try?
Chihiro: ….Yes, I want to!
-
Kazunari: Um, the goldfish scooping stall is....
Citron: Kazu, look. Over there!
Kazunari: You’re right. Maybe they really wanted to play.
Citron: It’s like they completely forgot about being lost!
Citron: ….But, they both look really happy.
Kazunari: Mhm! Why don’t we wait until they finish?
-
Chihiro: Ah! I did it! I caught one too!
Tenma: Yeah, great job.
Chihiro: Sumeragi-san, thank you for giving me some tips!
Tenma: Those were from my friend, actually, not me. A friend of mine taught me to scoop goldfish.
Chihiro: Your friend…?
Tenma: Yeah….. Actually, I was the same as you.
Tenma: I’ve been doing this job since I was a kid, so I never got to play with friends or go to things like festivals unless it was for work.
Tenma: Scooping goldfish, and lots of other things, I’ve learned from my friends.
Chihiro: ….Friends, do you need them?
Tenma: Huh?
Chihiro: I had something like friends, but once I couldn’t play with them, they all disappeared….
Tenma: ….

Izumi: (The shooting stall got a lot of business. Those three seemed to be having fun, so I’m sure the photos will come out nice.)
Izumi: I’ll check on the candied fruit stall next.
Izumi: (...Wow, this one has a really long line too!)
Elderly Fruit Stand Owner: The melted candy is in this pot, but first you stick the fruit on a bamboo skewer.
Tenma: The apples look big and ripe. Chihiro, you take the strawberry candies.
Chihiro: Understood.
Izumi: (He and Tenma-kun have their backs turned to the customers. If people find out they’re here, it’ll create quite a fuss….)
Tsuzuru: How about some candied fruit?
Citron: Freshly made and super yummy!
Customer: Waa~, they look so cute! I’ll take an apple one, please!
Elderly Fruit Stand Owner: Here you are, thank you.
Elderly Fruit Stand Owner: These boys are actors from the theatre troupe MANKAI Company. It’s a great theatre, so make sure to check out their performances!
Customer: Alright!
Citron: Oh~, thank you for the promo!
Elderly Fruit Stand Owner: For my good friend Citron-kun, it’s the least I can do. Besides, thanks to you all, my fruit stall’s business is booming!
Izumi: (Amazing, this looks like a win-win scenario for both of us...!)
-
Shooting Staff: Good work everyone. We’ll take a 30 minute break.
Azuma: If it’s 30 minutes, we should rest a bit.
Tsuzuru: Agreed. It was pretty difficult once the stall got busy.
Banri: I guess so. The shoot was amazing though.
Izumi: You’re right. By the way, as long as you make sure to come back here before the break ends, you’re free to look around the stalls.
Kazunari: For reals!? Well then, let’s take a look around!
Child A: Hey, where are we going next?
Child B: Cotton candy, right?
Child C: The takoyaki over there looked really good too!
Izumi: (Those kids look about the same age as Chihiro-kun…)
Chihiro: …..
Izumi: (Huh? Is Chihiro-kun staring at them…?)
Kazunari: Hey hey, Chihiron. Did you do anything with your friends over summer break? Like festivals and stuff!
Chihiro: No, lessons and my work are more important, so I don’t hang out with friends. I’ve never gone to a festival outside of work.
Tsuzuru: Really…?
Tenma: (He’s just like I was...)
Citron: Chihiro! From now on, you can play with us!
Kazunari: Ooh~ nice thinking Ronron! Tenten, you’ll come too right?
Tenma: Right… Okay, Chihiro, let’s go.
Chihiro: That’s nice, but…
Izumi: I’m not your staff but, is it okay for two celebrities to walk around a festival?
Tsuzuru: There’s a chance you’ll get mobbed.
Azuma: Right, I’m a little worried…
Citron: It’s okay! Kazu and I will be their knights!
Banri: Well, it should be fine if these guys are also there, right? Besides, the venue is pretty small, so they can get away if things get hectic.
Izumi: Okay, sure. Well then, please accompany these two!
Kazunari: Okie~! Chihiron, you hungry?
Chihiro: Yes, a little…
Citron: Then let’s get some food first!
Tenma: Shall we go to the food stalls?
-
Citron: There’s some yakisoba over there!
Kazunari: There’s hot dogs too!
Tenma: (It’s getting pretty crowded.)
Tenma: Oi, Chihiro. Don’t stray too far.
Citron: Tenma, Chihiro, follow me~!
Tenma: Jeez, these two… Oi, Chihiro, don’t get lost.
Tenma: ….H-Huh? Chihiro!?
Kazunari: What’s the matter Tenten?
Tenma: It’s bad, Chihiro’s not here!
Kazunari & Citron: EH!?
Tenma: I’m going look for him! You two spread out and--.
Kazunari: Hold on, wait, Tenten!
Citron: If Tenma goes alone, that would make things even worse!
Tenma: It’s hard to spot me in the crowd. But, I guess I wouldn’t be able to hide my aura.
Citron: When you say it like that, it’d be okay if Tenma got lost.
Kazunari: With that aura, you might be able to find him quicker!
Tenma: Oi, I’m not going to get lost! Stop talking like I’m going to!
Kazunari: Okay, let’s split up and search!
Citron: Kazu and I will look over there!
Tenma: Right, I’m counting on you!
Tenma: (Getting lost during your first time somewhere, it’s always scarier than usual...)
Tenma: (Chihiro, I’ll find you soon.)

Chihiro: I’m Tsuruha Chihiro. I’m looking forward to working with you today!
Kazunari: Woah, you’re super polite! Nice to meet ya~!
Citron: Nice to meet you, Chihiro~!
Chihiro: Yes!
Izumi: (He’s levelheaded.)
Izumi: It’s nice to meet you.
Banri: Nice to meet ya.
Azuma: Nice to meet you.
Chihiro: Yes! It’s nice to meet you all!
Tenma: You’re Tsuruha Chihiro, right? It’s nice to be working with you today.
Chihiro: I should be the one saying that, I look forward to working together. I’m overjoyed to be with Sumeragi-san.
Tenma: (Hm? That smile just now… This guy, maybe he’s...)
Shooting Staff: Before the festival starts, I’d like to get photos of everyone enjoying themselves at the food stalls. So let’s start moving, please.
Izumi: Understood.
Tsuzuru: Got it.
Shooting Staff: Good work, everyone! The next shoot will start once the festival actually begins.
Kazunari: I had lots of fun doing the shoot! Ramune, shaved ice, it really felt like a festival!
Azure: Fufu, Kazu and the Prince seemed to enjoy themselves from start to finish.
Banri: Since there’s no normal customers, it was nice to be able to take our time checking out the food stalls.
Citron: Being a model is corrupting!*
Tsuzuru: It's 'useful'.
Izumi: After this, you’d like to get photos of them helping out at food stalls, right?
Shooting Staff: Right. All the photos then will be candids, so it helps if you just act normally and ignore the camera.
Tenma: Have you decided which food stall we’re helping at?
Izumi: If everyone went to the same one it would get crowded. Instead, you’ll be divided into two teams.
Izumi: Tenma-kun, Citron-kun, and Tsuzuru-kun will be with the candied fruit. Banri-kun, Kazunari-kun, and Azuma-san will be at the shooting stalls.
Banri: O-kay.
Chihiro: What do I do?
Shooting Staff: Chihiro-kun… I think it would be better to be with someone you know, so let’s have you join Sumeragi-san’s team.
Chihiro: Okay, thank you very much!
Tenma: ….
Shooting Staff: Please wait one moment while we ready the equipment.
Tenma: Alright.
Chihiro: ….
Citron: Chihiro, are there any stalls that interest you?
Chihiro: Eh? No, none especially!
Tsuzuru: Are you sure? It looks like you were looking at a few food stalls every now and then.
Chihiro: That was just--.
Butcher Lady: Look who it is, Citron-kun! I was getting worried I didn’t have enough manpower.
Citron: What’s wrong, madame?
Butcher Lady: I want to bring this meat to the food stall, but it’s too heavy for me. I was wondering if you could help me a little.
Citron: Why of course! Tsuzuru, let’s go!
Tsuzuru: ‘Kay.
Butcher Lady: It’s a little awkward to be wearing such nice yukatas, but it still helps. Now then, I’ll be borrowing these two for a bit!
Tenma: Okay, understood.
Citron: Here we go~!
Chihiro: Alright, see you later!
Tenma: ….
Tenma: ….You’re pretending to be a good boy.
Chihiro: ….!
Chihiro: To see through my acting… As expected of Sumeragi Tenma.
Tenma: Obviously. Actually, I could notice immediately. It’s okay, so why don’t you relax your shoulders a little more?
Chihiro: It’s none of your business. More importantly, can Sumeragi-san afford to be this lax?
Tenma: What?
Chihiro: To me, you’re a rival. I’m going to catch up to you and overtake you.
Tenma: Heh. That’s some confidence. Go ahead, give it a shot.
Tenma: While you’re busy chasing me, I’ll still be moving forward.
Chihiro: …..

Tenma: I borrowed some flowers from the staff since it’s hard to pose empty-handed.
Tenma: I’m using the rose of sharon. Tsuzuru-san, you can have the hollyhock. Here.
Tsuzuru: Thank you.
Shooting Staff: Let’s resume shooting!
Cameraman: You two, face this way!
Tenma: Right, Tsuzuru-san. Look behind the cameraman.
Tsuzuru: Huh?
Kazunari & Citron: ~~♪♪ ~~♪♪
Tsuzuru: Phft. What kind of dance is that?
Cameraman: Wonderful! Minagi-kun, your facial expression has softened!
Tenma: You’re back to the usual Tsuzuru-san.
Tsuzuru: Somehow...thanks to Tenma.
Cameraman: Both of you have good expressions right now! Bring the flowers closer to your face!
Tsuzuru: Is this right?
Tenma: How’s this?
Cameraman: Perfect! The best!!
Kazunari: Otsupiko~!
Citron: Good work-dayo!
Izumi: Oh, you’ve all finished changing.
Tenma: Yeah, we removed all the makeup too.
Staff A: Which should we choose as the cover photo?
Staff B: I like them all, but I think those last shots of Sumeragi-san and Minagi-san would be good.
Tsuzuru: !
Staff C: Agreed! They came out really nice.
Staff A: Yeah, I actually think Minagi-san did the best.
Staff A: Tachibana-san, what do you think?
Izumi: Yes! I like the shots of Tenma-kun and Tsuzuru-kun, too.
Staff A: Well then, the shot of Sumeragi-san and Minagi-san will be the cover of the next issue, thank you!
Tsuzuru: Eh!?
Kazunari: Awesome, it’s a unanimous decision!
Tsuzuru: I’m on the cover of a magazine!?
Citron: Tsuzuru, I’m happy for you!
Tsuzuru: I-Is it really okay if it’s me?
Banri: I don’t see an issue? The expression you made when you finally relaxed was good.
Azuma: The photo did come out really nice.
Kazunari: Honestly, I’m just happy to be here!
Tsuzuru: ….You’re right. I hadn’t realized it yet but….I’m happy!
Tenma: I’ll be looking forward to the release of Tsuzuru-san and I’s “VELUDO” cover.
-
Izumi: Tomorrow is the on-site shoot at the summer festival. You’ll all be taking photos while actually participating.
Kazunari: So while we’re wearing the yukata and taking photos, everyone can also help out at food stalls and enjoy the festival too!
Banri: So we’re wearing the same yukatas again?
Citron: I love my yukata~!
Izumi: Also, Sakyo-san wants us to promote the theatre company, so please do that too if you can.
Azuma: That’s Sakyo-kun for you.
Tsuzuru: Well, I figured as much. Let’s use this as an opportunity to promote the company as much as possible.
Izumi: Oh, and one more thing. Tsuruha Chihiro, a child actor, is also joining us tomorrow.
Kazunari: Since it’s a festival, the “VELUDO” crew decided it would be a good idea to have children too.
Tenma: Heh, is that so.
Kazunari: That child actor, won’t he be happy to meet Tenten?
Izumi: Huh? Really?
Citron: Why’s that?
Kazunari: To tell you the truth, when the kid was being interviewed about who he was interested in, he name-dropped Tenten!
Azuma: That child might be looking forward to tomorrow, if that’s the case.
Tenma: Yeah, maybe so.
Citron: I’m also looking forward to meeting that child!

Shooting Staff: Now, if Sumeragi-san could start us off
Tenma: Let’s begin.
Cameraman: Ah, that facial expression just now was good! Next, a bit more angled!
Tenma: How’s this?
Cameraman: Yes! ...Alright, let’s include the prop flower in the next one.
Shooting Staff: Sumeragi-san, please use this rose of sharon!
Tenma: Heh, so this is a rose of sharon.
Cameraman: And, we’re done! Your pose and facial expression were excellent, as expected.
Tenma: Thank you very much.
Citron: Next is me! Let’s get to work~
Cameraman: Oh, that pose is pretty good. Then, do you have the flowers for the next one?
Citron: Got it!
Shooting Staff: Citron-san will use this flowering dogwood!
Citron: Thank you!
Cameraman: Heh...Citron-kun gives off such a mysterious and elegant feel, now just look towards the camera!
Citron: Like this?
Cameraman: Yes, that smile is great! Wonderful job!
Azuma: Next is me, isn’t it? Let's begin.
Camera: Oh, that’s good. The clematis flowers look great.
Azuma: Fufu, thank you.
Cameraman: Next, can you give me a slightly pained expression?
Azuma: Pained, does this work?
Cameraman: Exactly! I’ll take a few more photos like that!
Cameraman: Yes, okay!
-
Izumi: (I’m glad Banri-kun and Kazunari-kun’s shoots went well. After Tsuzuru-kun, we’ll be done with the solos.)
Tsuzuru: I’m next…
Tsuzuru: Since everyone’s went so smoothly, I can’t stop this flow…. I’m nervous.
Citron: Tsuzuru, do your best!
Kazunari: Tsuzurun’s walking so stiffly!
Tenma: He’s more nervous than I thought…
Tsuzuru: L-Let’s get to work. Um, the standing mark is…
Cameraman: That position works. Now, let’s begin the shoot!
Cameraman: I think your smile is a little stiff. Laugh, laugh!
Tsuzuru: S-Sorry…
Banri: Tsuzuru, don’t you get nervous every time you do a shoot?
Citron: This is no good! Kazu, let’s make Tsuzuru laugh!
Kazunari: Okie! Laugh and relax!
Kazunari & Citron: ~~♪♪
Tsuzuru: ……
Citron: Oh~, we had funny faces and funny dances, but he didn’t see us at all!
Kazunari: Total bummer….
Izumi: (Maybe I should speak with the staff and call for a break. Um, the staff is...)
Tenma: Director, I’m going on. Leave this to me.
Izumi: (I wonder what his idea is. Tenma-kun is the one who's more accustomed to places like this...)
Izumi: Okay, understood. Now, if you would please.
Tenma: Kazunari, Citron, could you two continue dancing with those weird faces?
Kazunari: OK!
Citron: We’ll do our best!
Tenma: Excuse me, could I also be in this shot? I think it could help him relax.
Shooting Staff: I understand. Now then, let’s do a two-person shot!
Tenma: Thank you very much. Also, could I have this?
Shooting Staff: Yes, here!
Tenma: Thanks, I just need to borrow it.
Tenma: Tsuzuru-san, you’re taking a photo with me next.
Tsuzuru: ….This sucks.
Tenma: No, everyone gets nervous. So you don’t have to worry.
Tenma: Besides, Tsuzuru-san and I know eachother.
Tsuzuru: Tenma…. Thank you.
