Hello...? Um. I'm Vesper. I don't think we've met before but your number is on my comm. I kinda thought it was a prank from my friend at first but it looks like I'm not the only one? I know its not really my business but you look hurt so I couldn't just keep watching. Prank or not, I hope you're okay.

hiii vivi i love the emberfish au! if mimicry is a mer specialty, is there a specific purpose mers use it for as a species? like a hunting tactic or something?

(also poor tango so bored, somebody put some enrichment in his enclosure lol)

hi hi vesper!! I think mer having great mimicry skills is more a consequence for them having unique and versatile vocal chords, than any sort of hunting tactics. (also. tango noises. that's the vivi reason rly hahah) But there have definitely been mer who use it that way. There are as many different ways to hunt as there are mer, really.

Some mer are better with mimicry than others (like tango being exceptionally talented vs etho being not so much), and they use their voices for all sorts of different things. Some mer can use it to harm other creatures (think a banshee-like scream), some mer use it to hunt, some use it for recreational purposes like singing. It depends on the mer, really.

YEAH hs cuz thats my main thing BUT they are: Jade's oriented aroace, Jake's grey aro, Dirk is aroflux then Dave, Karkat and Egbert are demi aro! :D

18: If you had to pick a fantasy weapon, which one would you pick? Sword, bow and arrow, wand, etc?

SWORD sword... I want a sword so bad!! I almost ordered one once when I actually had money but my mom yelled at me when I said I was going to >:( because they're "dangerous" and "stupid" to own or some shit 😔

if I could actually shoot them I'd choose a bow but I used to own one and I'm really weak so the strings are hard to pull back :(

17.Favorite dynamic to write? (ship, familial bond, friendship, qpr, rivalry, etc)

I've mostly only written friendships, but rivalry is fun to dabble in and I'm sure at some point I'll come up with an au where familial bonds come into play. Time will tell on this one me thinks. /i simply do not have enough fic out there.

18.How similar are the things you enjoy writing to the things you enjoy reading?

Very similar. Most of my writing is me looking at what I've read and brainrotting so hard about different concepts that something new comes out. I have such a compost bin in my brain and sometimes new flowers grow from it. Voiceless came about cause of this. So did Emberfish, to some extent. I got a large chunk of inspo for the mer biology and the 'some mer use wheelchairs on land' and the whole. situation with Jimmy and Scott and Martyn from a fic called 'Cry of the Mer' by FantasyOcean. I've built a lot of my own original ideas into the au, twisting a lot of it to fit the vibes i want, and following a very different storyline, but the basics were from there. Dragonfrost is probably the worst offender in that sense, though. A dnd/high fantasy au with a dark dynamic of my favorite pair and also one of them is a dragon and also it's set in decked out and it's a dungeon guide Jimmy au? yeah. Haven't seen any of that before.

I try to write fics that would induce the same 'kicking my feet and laughing evilly but also screaming crying throwing up' energy that the best fics i've read induce in me. Whether or not i succeed is up to the reader. >:3

24.What work would you like to talk more about?

All of them, really. the most neglected fic i have is honestly the (not quite so) invisible life of ranboo beloved. aka, the ranboo is addie larue fic. I had SUCH an interesting concept there. It is criminally underrated.

But also tbh the voiceless au in general needs some definite love. the poor zedaph fic is still half finished in my drafts.

🐶 What hermits do you watch?

Oh jeez okay. this is a long answer. *deep breath* mumbo, scar, grian, tango, zedaph, bdubs, pearl, etho, xisuma, and now I started watching gem too. I started watching with mumbo in s4, and then in s5 I jumped on with most of the hermits i now watch today. Although back then i did watch a bunch of cub but he was simply putting out too much content that was too slow paced for littol me to keep with, so i sorta stopped.

🐝 What is your favourite hermitcraft moment?

Why must you torture me so. There are too many to count.

Most of them include either Tango or Scar tho. so. there is that.

if i had to had to choose, it would probably be either the milksog incident/everything that happened in bdubs mudshop speakeasy, or for something earlier in the timeline, it would be the Grian being the Sahara secretary.

Or the boat bomb that boatem crew pulled on Tango in s8.

🌕 What is your favourite hermitcraft build?

If I had to choose one from each season, it would have to be mumbo's flying saucer base from s4, the community area/shopping district from s5 (#neverforgetthebigdig) (aka i watched so many scar livestreams when I could catch them, and I even drew my first hermit fanart/ wrote my first hermit fanfic because of that build), s6 is probably the house build-off from the second half of the season, but the builds from "to kill a Tango" are great too. especially the infinity room and the one that shifted the floor, ceiling, and walls constantly enough that you couldn't break anything.

Season 7, my favorite build was-- gosh how do I choose?? I loved the barge and aqua town and toon towers (mostly the doofinshmirtz tower) and how could one forget about larry the snail and scar's wizard village and also the town hall because of all it instigated and GRUMBOT who could forget grumbot???? also decked out 1 and the moopop factory and the button and uuuugggghhhhhhhhh why must you torture me so by demanding favorites.

Season 8 was definitely fifi. who could top that, really? Especially fifi with a tutu. and even though season 9 is still ongoing, my favorite build so far is the deep frost citadel/decked out 2. I cannot wait to explore it on the world download.

favorite character and kind of story to write and why?

Okay. So. favorite character is extremely hard because i have so many fandoms and so many ocs that it is so hard to pick only one character EVER. I love different ones for different reasons and all.

My favorite type of story to write is high fantasy, with lots of worldbuilding that Just Makes Sense and that has a lot of Not-Humans. Magic is a staple, and so is having every protag character be Unique. Beyond that? I'm not sure hahah. I like novelty, and I like angst, and I really like kidnapping plots, so there is that too.

I have this far off dream to make an entire video game all by myself (<- delusional). I have an entire discord server with only myself in it dedicated to all my ideas and concepts for this absolutely ridiculous project. 22. When is my prime time to work on my art? Anytime, any day. But particularly when I have something else I should be doing. I do typically finish my tasks early afternoon, and then I draw until I go to sleep!

so i can name stuff the same name all the time month-to-month. I name it usually by one character's name or a term of endearment and it usually features an array of misspellings.
