I just like this idea that since Korra started a new avatar cycle, she doesn’t want to be one to take all the credit for the avatar’s history with Raava and Harmonic Convergence and she doesn’t want Wan to be forgotten and completely lost to history so her statue is shared with a revamped version of Wan’s and both are embraced by Raava.

Happy tenth anniversary, Wan and Raava!

Today marks a full decade since the premiere of Beginnings Parts 1 and 2, which first aired on October 18th, 2013. It's hard to believe that it's been ten whole years since then!

To celebrate, we have planned a special month-long celebration of Wan and Raava's relationship. Starting on October 29th, this year's Waava Month has twenty special prompts across four themed weeks, along with a few "rest days" to break them up! Here are the themes and prompts for each week:

Week 1, "Journey", October 30th to November 3rd: "Beginnings", "Detour", "Lion Turtle", "Turning Back", "End of the Road".

Week 2, "Duality", November 6th to November 10th: "Human/Spirit", "Fire/Water", "Earth/Air", "Order/Chaos", "Team".

Week 3, "Divergence", November 13th to November 17th: "Cosmic", "Fireworks", "Making History", "Protect", "Divided".

Week 4, "Connection", November 20th to November 24th: "Broken", "Affection", "Identity", "Bonded Forever", "New Legacy".

After receiving the power of air, Wan returns to the Lion Turtle. Realizing the importance of his mission, the villagers waste no time gathering the supplies necessary for Wan’s journey. He was, after all, to travel with a Great Spirit – and for the sake of the entire world, no less.

To Wan, however, it felt more like he was tagging along.
