Alright alright alright.

We're all walking wounds #7, 2, 14, 15
Loving echoes (In loving memory of Emperor Belos) #1, 9, 12, 15
Yeah that’s a lot my bad. Do as many or as little as you’re comfortable with, I just really love all your stories and the dynamics between Darius, Hunter, and Eberwolf. Many characters in toh can carry their own show and these three are no exception and you did it very well. Looking forward to whatever else you put out!
Once again, I’m procrastinating enough that I might just answer everything 😂 But maybe I do need to chill a lot, so it’s probably fine. Here we go!
The stars too, they tell of spring returning
7: Where did the title come from?
Ohhhh, okay, so this one comes from the musical Spring Awakening, aka, my all time favorite. I only have this fic in the series, but this one and the sequel fic I have planned for it come from the song Those you’ve known (hence the name of the series). Give it a listen if you want! I actually have a very detailed animatic with it in my head, featuring Darius, his mentor, Hunter and a LOT of palismen. Unfortunately, I can’t draw, let alone animate, so you’re getting it in written form.
Spring Awakening is a musical that... gets dark, ngl, but at the end of the day it’s hopeful, and that song in particular makes me think a lot about the regrets both Darius and Hunter keep, but also the knowledge that ultimately they can and will heal.
This line hits hard: Those you’ve pained may carry that still with them. All the same, they whisper “all forgiven”.
11: What do you like best about this fic?
I’m really enjoying writing the little connections between Darius’s side of the narrative and Hunter’s! I also had been pretty hesitant about writing about the Boiling Isles because we truly don’t know at all what’s happening there, but I have ideas and I’m very happy letting them out. You are getting some theories in fanfiction form, haha.
It’s a bit ambitious, considering I’m not used to this kind of... more action-oriented story telling, but that’s part of the fun!
.
I was lost for you to find
1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?
Truthfully? I was straight up like “I can’t write that many adoption stories without them starting to turn out repetitive”, haha. I wanted to try another angle, and I thought it would be a cute idea to do something in which Darius and Hunter could see themselves reflected in, kind of a “look how far we’ve come” thing. Plus, this way I got to feature a lot of Eber.
2: What scene did you first put down?
The visit to the jaguar! I almost never write the beginnings first, but shhhh. Specifically, the joke with the “hey, she looks like you” was one of the first things going there, and I knew that I wanted to repeat it later with Darius saying it this time, but I didn’t write that down until I actually got to that part.
4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?
“It’s true, pup, they too are furless and need lots of nurturing.” because I think I’m really funny sometimes asjhgfhjdsg I’m a clown, but one that cheers for herself.
.
We're all walking wounds
7: Where did the title come from?
Okay, so my titles are either straight to the point (”Home”, “Dress”) or from a song, and if it’s the latter, they’re either from a musical OR from my new favorite artist that I acquired earlier this year, haha. Lowkey, if you guess what artist is it, I would write you anything you wanted ajsgfjsdg it’s not that easy to guess especially because I messed up the line in one title 🤣
Anyway, whether I choose the title because the whole song fits or just the line fits varies. This one was a “the whole song fits” kind of deal. But I’ll give you the verse because it’s what I was thinking of specifically while writing it:
“We’re all walking wounds
Brains and bodies are bruised
Let me take care of you.”
2: What scene did you first put down?
The scene where Hunter realizes Darius’s magic isn’t working. Because I was very excited to write that, mostly. I truly never start with the beginning, rip asjgfjdsg
14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
As a sort of moral lesson kind of deal? I mean, not really, I’m just a humble fanfic writer 😆 But I do like spreading the “it’s okay to let others take care of you” agenda. I think it’s also nice to see that it’s not only one-sided care, Hunter cares about Darius as much as Darius cares about him. And they both need to learn to let people in.
15: What did you learn from writing this fic?
Well, I do like to think I improve a little bit with each thing I write. That’s true for all writers, right? I feel like I have trouble with writing dialogues and with pacing, but hopefully each new thing helps to make it better!
.
Loving echoes (In loving memory of Emperor Belos)
1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?
I think something that’s not always considered is that you can still harbor affection for someone who hurt you if it was someone you loved, no matter how much you are aware that they treated you terribly and how much you want to not feel that way. The feelings don’t disappear just because you wish they weren’t there, and there’s a lot you have to come to terms with when there are “good parts” you can remember in between the mistreatment.
Hunter genuinely cared for Belos, and with that beginning scene in Eclipse Lake, I got the impression that there were truly times in which Belos played the caring uncle role. Rare, not very long-lasting, but they were there. And that was enough to generate conflicting feelings.
9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
Yes and no? I played around with the idea of making it about the previous Golden Guard, but I didn’t really have anything concrete with that idea before I settled on this one.
One “alternative” thing I did consider was if Hunter was going to go alone to the castle or not, but it was also just an idea before I decided that no, he would be with his family.
12: What do you like least about this fic?
*Insert principal Bump’s voice* Wow, I grossly misjudged the tone of this.
I’m just suffering a little because while the part about being able to feel affection for someone who hurt you is still true, I did not expect Belos to do something that would make Hunter start being angry at him instead of afraid. Thanks to them was... world changing ahsfghdsgfhjdgh
Aside from that, pacing. I feel like I didn’t give enough time to breath in between the reflections at the beginning and the actual scene at the castle.
15: What did you learn from writing this fic?
I never learn anything *finger guns*. No, I don’t know... maybe that I can actually cry writing something? Because I did cry while writing some of it ajsgfjsdg
.
Thank you so much for the questions!!! It makes me really happy to know people like what I write 🥺💕 I’m currently working on the update for The stars too, they tell of spring returning and a one-shot, and I hope you’ll like them once they’re ready!!!

Some headcanons:
They consider Darius a pack member. Once Raine joins the rebellion, they too will be seen as a pack member, as well as Hunter later. Eberwolf has a strong sense of loyalty, which is why they will immediately go into attack mode when someone from their pack is threatened. Attack first, ask questions later.
They are ambivert. While generally a social creature, being a head witch and serving Belos can be exhausting. They have a better understanding with their beasts; while being in the presence of other witches can be fun, most don’t get their habits or their way of communication.
They are able to speak only a few words, not full sentences. They are able to write and draw as well (when writing, again, only a few words, not full sentences, tends to have lots of typos in it).
However! Just because do not speak, Eberwolf has other ways to communicate with people. Growls, barks, hissing or other sounds that might come out of them. If you really want to know what Eber wants and how they feel like, it is important to observe their body language. They are trying to communicate through gestures as well - or they are capable of sign language, too.
Eberwolf tends to hunt meat for themselves, as they prefer it that way. They are resourceful and don't take more than they need, nor will they waste any food. They are capable of eating bones and might even sometimes scavenge for it, or just summon a beast for the carrion.
Although they are a beast keeper, their methods come from mutual understanding and respect. The creatures are allowed to roam free and do as they please, but will come to the small creature's aid if they need it. If they see a caged creature, Eberwolf will immediately find ways to set it free.
Aside from the coven and their beasts they don’t really have anywhere else to go. That’s why they are also mostly seen with Darius sometimes - the two of them became friends eventually and Eberwolf trusted him enough to get comfortable with Darius (plus he is fun to mess with). When not working for Belos, it is likely to find them somehwere in the wilderness, where they feel like they belong. They might also sleep sometimes there, as they don’t really have a house. Not that they care to get one, anyway. If it gets cold, Eberwolf will simply invite themselves over to Darius.

Best of DC: Week of January 23rd, 2019
Best of This Week: Freedom Fighters #2 - Robert Venditti, Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira and Adriano Lucas
This book had two of my favorite things in a comic, a badass issue-long mech fight and patriotic freedom.
Robert Venditti does a great job at making the New Freedom Fighters sound inspiring and sure of themselves and the America they want to fight for. Eddy Barrows does an amazing job at making sure the action is dynamic, explosive and beautiful, inspiring a sense of pride and hope in a bleak future.
Shortly after their debut in front of a crowd of disillusioned citizens, the Fighters are set upon by a Nazi Super-Mech, nigh indestructible and as despicable as any Ratzi. Venditti is able to sell us on the idea that these guys have been training for this kind of thing for a while as the team coordinates their offense and defense of themselves and the citizens.
Barrows, Ferreira and Lucas make sure that every scene is action packed, even simple things as a Nazi calling their leader looks pretty cool, Adolf the Second looking very menacing. But the way they they draw, color and ink the mech is a thing of wonder. You get an immense sense of scale as his shadow and frame appear to blot out the sun. You feel the terror from the citizens as they think everything is over before it began.  You can feel how tumultuous the battle is as the Fighters struggle to defeat it!
Condor maneuvers around it, distracting it as Phantom Lady teleports citizens away and dumps debris on its head. Human Bomb is the frontline of their offense, putting the robot off balance enough to allow Phantom Lady the chance to teleport in and wreck shop. The destroyed husk of the machine being the true beacon.
Their ship arrives with the loading ramp bearing the American flag and begins to descend, it just elicits a joy, a victorious triumph. The good guys have won a battle, the Nazis can be beaten and the spark of freedom lights a match Ensuring that Uncle Sam will come back and set things right.
This is literally the only instance in which Make America Great Again can be used for something positive as The Freedom Fighters make it clear that they're here to liberate the oppressed. They're here to bring back the true American ideal. Freedom over Nazi subjugation and destroying their false history and machines of war. This is the first volley and it's absolutely beautiful.

It's all a dream.
Runner Up: Batman #63 - Tom King, Mikel Janin and Jordie Bellaire
The words sting to type. It's a trope that I hate with a fiery passion and loathe anything that makes use of it… until these last few issues of Batman. We don't (?) Know what happens to Bruce after he finds Alfred injured on the floor, but for the last two issues and now this one, it seems he's been dreaming, according to our special guest of the issue, tied to a chair with Scarecrow driving hin slowly insane.
It's been interesting to see what Bruce's psyche dreams up for him. The path he could have taken if he had ended up as violent as Master Bruce - How splintered his relationship with Damian had become, him not noticing Damian becoming more and more like a monster and now what may have happened had he married Selina.
On top of that, I find there's a strange analysis to be made on the relationship and parallels between John Constantine and Batman, two heroes that while never quite intertwined are two sides of the same coin.
Bruce would have been happy. So happy, happy to the point where he would have been more effective working with Catwoman, his edge would have dulled and when he least expected it, much like Dick, she'd be taken from him. This would make him a much more broken mess than he is now and subconsciously, through this nightmare, he knows it too. The emotion and sadness that Janin can pull from simply Batman's chin and eyes is especially powerful.
At the same time, ConstanDream (because he's also not real in this nightmare scenario) acts as the nagging side of his rational mind telling him over and over that this would happen. Batman, however, lashes out at him, telling him that with his power and skill he could have been one of the greats after punching him in the face.
As far a reach as it night be, I think Batman sees Constantine as the side of him that's given in to his fear. Constantine has all of the tools to be the Batman of the Magic world, he effectively is with his cunning ability, way with words and versatility in dealing with any threat he comes across, but he's also just a bastard. A bastard if for no reason other than ensuring those close to him don't get hurt or killed.
Batman and Constantine are no strangers to hurt, but Batman keeps allowing himself to he surrounded by loved ones, hoping that they won't fall victim to his crusade. Constantine is the sad reminder that eventually they all do and that it's better to be alone and effective than cause undue harm to friends.
At least, that's the beauty I pull from this issue. I don't know how long the Knightmares arc will last, but damn if it isn't great.
