okay but to be honest. in my head the wataei/watakeichi endgame is:

eichi inherits a significant portion of his familys stuff and reorganizes it to be in line with his design and values. then he writes a will where a significant portion of his stuff will be allocated to the people he cares about. this includes people who arent even expecting to get anything from him, like tsumugi and leo.

then, he and wataru fake eichis death.

a select few people are in direct awareness of the plan (keito, tori and yuzuru, etc) and i think a fair bit of people beyond that (pretty much everyone in ES) surmise that he didnt actually die. but for all intents and purposes, his death is legally honored, as are the contents of his will.

meanwhile wataru and eichi escape to a small countryside in europe where they live new identities in a cute mansion next to a small town where they make friends with all the locals who just adore the couple living up on the hill and eichi uses the money he allocated for himself in their scheme in order to build a local theater which wataru then happily runs, directs in, stars in, teaches children theater in, so on and so forth

theyre still in frequent communication with their friends back in japan (secretly) who will also occasionally come visit. this includes keito who eichi will just randomly call like "hi ^_^ the private jet is ready for you" "eichi im in a meeting." "i know, wataru is coming around with the helicopter to take you to the airport" "xe flew all the way here just to ride to the office building in a helicopter?" "oh no no, xes flying the helicopter!"

Keito's day off - Chapter 3 - ShaktiKali - Ensemble Stars! (Video Game) [Archive of Our Own]

The cinema lobby buzzed with life and chatter as Keito, Eichi, and Wataru approached the ticket counter. Eichi stepped up and ordered tickets for the latest romantic comedy that had caught their eye.

The three of them entered the dimly lit theater, the scent of popcorn in the air. It was a cozy, quiet space with plush red seats that reclined slightly. They sat down, with Keito in the middle, Eichi on his right, and Wataru on his left, although Keito wasn't used to being in the center, always preferring to let others take the spotlight.

As the lights dimmed further, the trailers for upcoming movies began to play, and Wataru leaned in close to Keito. "You know, my dear Keito, I heard this film has the most divine love story. Maybe we should act on our own little story someday! With your writing, my acting, and Eichi's singing it'd be amazing~"

Eichi leaned too. "I'd love to do something small. Even if I don't have as much time as I had before."

Keito couldn't help but smile at their plans. maybe someday... He could make them the protagonists of the story.

The movie started, and soon the theater was filled with laughter at times. The trio shared whispered comments and reactions, the enjoyment of the film enchanted by the company of each other.

At one particular moment in the movie, Wataru faked wiping a tear. "Oh, how wonderful!" he murmured as dramatically as he could. "Love can truly conquer all."

Eichi nodded in agreement. "Indeed, it can."

As the film reached its heartwarming conclusion, Keito couldn't help but think about ideas for his private romance manga. He glanced at Eichi and Wataru, his heart full. They were always seen as an odd dynamic, given their quirks and peculiarities and despite all odds, they created an unbreakable bond.

The credits rolled, and the lights in the theater slowly came up. The trio stood up and made their way out, the film's message of love and togetherness through all reminded them of their relationship.

Outside of the cinema, the city's vibrant nightlife shone throughout. Shibuya's beauty was unparalleled, full of unique people with their meaning and hopes.

The bustling streets, illuminated by neon signs and ads, and the glow of countless shops and restaurants were a contrast to the quiet cinema.

Suddenly, Eichi interrupts his thoughts. "Keitooo~ Can we get burgers?"

Keito couldn't help but smile at Eichi's sudden enthusiasm for burgers. Ever since tasting street food, Eichi had gotten quite a liking to it. Wataru, always up for Eichi's plans, chimed in, "Burgers sounds like a splendid idea!"

With a chuckle, Keito agreed, "Alright, just this time though."

They navigated through the busy streets. It didn't take long before they stumbled upon a cozy burger joint with a line of customers.

As they waited in line, Wataru exclaimed. "I've heard rumors about this place! They say their burgers are a masterpiece of culinary artistry!"

Eichi was focused on the menu, his eyes sparkling. "I wonder which one should I order... there are so many options."

When it was their turn to order, Keito opted for a cheeseburger, Wataru ordered a double bacon burger, and Eichi decided on a burger with lettuce and tomatoes. They also got fries to share.

With their orders in hand, they found a corner where they wouldn't get any unwanted attention. The warm, inviting aroma of freshly cooked burgers filled the air, making their mouths water in anticipation.

They dug into their burgers, talking here and there about how they've been lately. It was unusual for them to be apart for that much time, as they always came home at night. But work always made their lives too busy to even share a calm moment. Sharing a meal like this just filled Keito with love and appreciation for his partner.

Wataru usually didn't eat around people, but with them around he seemed more comfortable. At first, it was only Eichi who shared meals with Wataru, and then fine, and finally Keito. He appreciated that they had gotten a relationship full of trust.

Eichi chimes in, "This was an amazing date, wasn't it?" He says while wiping his face with a napkin.

Wataru nodded, as he finished his burger. "It's perfect! A reminder of the good times in life, despite the tragedy of this comedy...!"

Keito finished eating, full. "I couldn't agree more," he said with a smile. "Love is a wonderful thing."

Their laughter filled the small burger joint as they finished their food. As the moon rose so did their love.

They leave the burger joint and go back to the streets. It was quieter than before, with fewer people walking around.

Keito felt a sense of serenity settling over them. The city, usually bustling with life, also had its calm moments.

Wataru, always the romantic, gazed at the moon. "Isn't the moon just lovely tonight?"

Keito frowns. "You did not just say that. You're incorrigible"

Eichi laughs softly, used to their antics. "The moon has witnessed countless love stories, ours is one of many tales."

Hand in hand, they continued their way home through the moonlit streets of Shibuya.

You know I did mention no gender/sexuality headcanons but I actually do have a bit of it for Keito so I'll include it. It changes depending on the hc/au/ship tho.

Anyway I think you can probably send me someone else we all know how I feel about Keito.

Sexuality Headcanon: Aroace... Listen... it's normal to be petty and jealous over your platonic friends and act like married couples with them, actually. I have done all that in my life with people I have no romantic inclination to and I think petty jealous aces deserves representation.

Gender Headcanon: Male-dude-man-guy. It's funny because Keito doesn't really insist upon his masculinity but he's such a dude to me that when I try to read genderbend keito fics my brain will continuously get confused whenever "she/her" is used. (I read a genderbend keirei fic and when it's she/her pronouns for Rei I'm like "yeah that tracks" but when it's Keito I'm like "???")

A ship I have with said character: I think madakei could be interesting actually

A BROTP I have with said character: Akatsuki. (You know I do actually ship both keikuro and keichi platonically. But calling keichi brotp just isn't right. Whatever they have going on isn't covered by the realm of "bro". On the other hand I don't think KeiRei is platonic on Rei's side, and it's probably "???" on Keito's side.)

A NOTP I have with said character: watakei or watakeichi or eireikei. I value Keito's digestive health.

A random headcanon: Keito is a rare breed of doujin artist who would make doujins with pure plot, no fluff and no ship. He reads the shipping and fluffy things when it has nice art, tho, and then complains about plot holes to Kuro. Keito why did you expect the plot to make sense in porn? That's on you.

General Opinion over said character: It's funny because I don't think he's like... my fav in terms of characterization. But his key stories in ! eras are so well written. Crossroad? Banger. Meteor Impact? Banger. Quarrel Fes? Banger. They're just very focused for Enstars writing, which sometimes gets a bit scattered. Also his earlier stories are so... consistent and crystal clear in his characterization that I suspected him to be Akira's self-insert lol... But no, sensei just have a bias. Enstars characters are really fucking complicated so when I see Keito I'm like "ah thank god, someone I can always understand".

- i love the tea club. this is partially bc of enstage’s influence since that treated the tea club really well!! i like all the characters in the tea club and i love how they interact with each other!!

- biblio and quarrel fes!! i did also just happen to read philosopher’s guidance and i really liked that one too... keito is my favorite character and all of those stories include him so. biblio is a super cute short story w midori, hajime and tsumugi!! i do like all three but tsumugi is among my faves too... quarrel fes is about keito and eichi’s relationship and. since eichi is also one of my favorites and i love the relationship he and keito have quarrel fes is easily a story i’ll like...

More Keito's day off!

After getting out of the café, they headed to a nearby park. The movie they were going to watch wasn’t going to start until 5:00 PM, he looked at his clock and saw that it was barely 4:15 PM.

He was a bit worried about the weather, with the cloudy gray sky threatening to rain. While Wataru wasn’t easily sick Eichi was another story, he knew he was a bit paranoid about his health but given his track record could anyone blame him?

“Is something wrong Keito my dearest? Oh! Are you maybe cold? Well, I was prepared for this! I have a comically long scarf so all of us can share!” –And he was right, it was at least three meters long, rainbow-colored, of course. What else did he expect?

“Come on Keito~ We’ll look cute matching, this will keep me warmer, right my Wataru?” Eichi immediately puts the scarf on himself, and then on Keito, his cold hands brushing along his skin, giving him chills. He takes Eichi’s hand, to warm it up, accepting his fate with the doomed scarf, just to please his childhood friend. He grabs the other end of the scarf and wraps it around Wataru's neck, who is flustered by the action.

Wataru tended to always be clingy and affectionate, but once he was the one receiving affection he didn’t know how to react. He was always the center of attention, always making sure of it, but it was all on a superficial level, in reality, he was always seeking someone to love him as he was. Not as Hibiki Wataru, but as himself.

“It was your idea, so why stay quiet now?” Keito tries to tease him but hearing that Wataru does a complete 180 and starts smothering him in kisses and hugs. Typical for him to deflect his emotions… It was cute at least. Not cute enough to be doing PDA, he tries prying Wataru off of him but to no avail, he was incredibly strong when he wanted.

Finally stopping, Wataru gave a kiss to Eichi as well, Eichi preferred to be a bystander more than an active participant, he liked watching his loved ones get along, and what better way to enjoy the show than to just watch? Despite this, Wataru made sure to always give Eichi attention too. Some may think having a polyamorous relationship must be hard, and it is at times, but they truly complete each other in ways that they never could have imagined.

“Can we sit for a little while? I’m getting a little tired.” Said Eichi, they’ve been walking through the park, his stamina usually was more than getting tired after a small walk, was he sick? “Ah, there is your worried frown, Keito. Don’t worry, I had a meeting with Sports Survivors this morning, so I’m just worn out from running around.” That did ease his mind, but he still couldn’t comprehend how someone like Eichi decided to join a sports club, that menace.

They found a bench in a secluded part of the park, to not get any media on them. Eichi sat down with a contented sigh, and Wataru quickly nestled himself on the left side of Eichi, while Keito took the other.

The three of them sat in silence for a moment, quietly enjoying the other's company and the serene atmosphere of the park. The rustling leaves and the birds chirping made a soothing scene.

Eichi broke the silence with a gentle smile. "You know, moments like these are what make me realize just how beautiful life can be," he said, looking at his boyfriends with a warm gaze. "The small, genuine moments make up for all the stress and pain..."

Keito nodded in agreement. He had always been more reserved in expressing his emotions, but he couldn't deny that he cherished every moment with them. "Yeah, you're right," he admitted. "I guess sometimes I get too caught up in my work and forget to appreciate the little things."

Wataru, ever the dramatic one, leaned in with an exaggerated sigh. "Oh, Keito, my dear, you're correct! We must savor every moment of this lovely, tragic life!" He threw his arms around Keito and Eichi, nearly toppling them over with his embrace.

Eichi laughs quietly while Keito just stares at Wataru´s antics with annoyance.

As time flew by, Keito couldn't help but stop to admire the scene around them. The park was full of colors, with trees beginning to change into shades of red and gold. Couples strolled by, hand in hand, and families ran around enjoying the day. It was a picture of love and happiness.

Wataru suddenly jumped up. "I have a brilliant idea!" he exclaimed. "Let's take a picture to remember this beautiful day forever!"

Eichi chuckled and took out his phone. "Wataru is right. This day is special. Let's capture it." He extended his arm to take a selfie, with Keito and Wataru on either side of him, the comically long rainbow scarf wrapped around all of them.

The photo turned out to be perfect- Keito's half-smile, Eichi's gentle expression, and Wataru's joy were all captured in a single frame.

With the picture taken and saved as a cherished memory, they continued their stroll in the park.

The park's path led them through a serene scene full of birds, fallen leaves, and ponds where ducks lazily swam across the water. The gentle air of autumn surrounded them.

Eichi, observed a group of children flying kites nearby. "How delightful," he mused. "Do you remember when you sneaked a kite for me when we were children, Keito? We got scolded by the maids, as I wasn't allowed to go out... Ahh, good memories."

Keito nodded."I remember, you ended up making a ruckus so they'd stop scolding you." he laughed, Eichi stared at him with a frown, before smiling again.

As they continued to walk, Keito noticed a small clearing up ahead where the setting sun bathed the area in a warm, golden glow.

He led them to the spot and turned to face Eichi and Wataru. "Let's take another picture here," he suggested with a soft smile. "The lighting is perfect, and it'll be a beautiful addition to our collection."

Eichi handed his phone to Keito, and they huddled together in front of a particularly big tree with orange and gold leaves. The camera captured their silhouettes perfectly, the sun casting a warm, ethereal glow over the image.

As the sun came down, painting the sky in pinks and purples, Keito's alarm went off, notifying them that it was already time to head to the movies.

"Fu fu, Keito, did you put an alarm? You're too punctual sometimes." Eichi chuckled, teasing Keito as always.

"You wouldn't want to be late, would you?" Keito narrowed his eyes.

"Hmm, I am always fashionably late! It's like a surprise!" Wataru interrupted.

"We know, Wataru." The both of them replied, chuckling.

Wrapped in their little world, they couldn't help but await what could happen next on their date, it had gone way better than expected so far, unlike other dates where unwanted attention came by, this one was peaceful and joyous, it wasn't even over yet.

And so, had in hand, they venture into the cinema, ready to continue this lovely date.

Watakeichi: Keito's day off (Ch.1)

I'm posting this in ao3 but I'll cross-post it here!

Did I start in 2020 and just updated it today? Maybe...

The streets of Shibuya were bursting with life, excited chatter was heard all around. Keito was standing in the middle of it all, a frown adorning his face. It was 02:05 PM… They were late.

A sigh escapes his lips. He shouldn’t have agreed to this, but they wouldn’t ever leave him alone if he refused. He finally had a break from his busy schedule, and he ended up wasting it on this? He has mellowed out these last years.

A fancy car stopped in front of him, bringing him out of his thoughts. The door opened, showing Wataru, accompanied by Eichi. “Keito~ Pardon our lateness. For I, the great Hibiki Wataru, am only human, may you find it in your cold heart to forgive us…” Wataru bowed dramatically, his frown deepening. How insufferable. A soft laugh interrupted his anger, Eichi ever so amused with the clown’s antics.

“Fufu, it was only five minutes, Keito.” His face softens, he was right- but that was enough time for his mind to bring his insecurities to light. Shaking off this line of thinking, he looks at them with a sharp gaze. Wataru had a hideous colorful collared shirt, it looked like something you would find in a child’s wardrobe. At least his pants were normal enough, with neutral beige coloring, and some brown shoes. Eichi was wearing a large beige coat, under it, was a pastel pink sweater. It looked warm, so he wasn’t concerned that he might get a cold. He had some dark brown pants and black shoes. Despite the contrast between the two, they looked good together. Keito, on the other hand, was wearing a black turtleneck sweater, some dark green pants, and brown shoes. He hoped he didn’t look too formal, it was a casual meeting – date, he reminds himself- after all.

“What is it Keito? Are you speechless over our beautiful entrance~? Or are you stunned over our amazing looks?” Wataru starts flinging his arms around theatrically, his overwhelming presence bringing the attention of many passersby.

“We’ve stood here enough; we should get going.” He says, he had to admit he was a bit embarrassed by being caught looking for longer than he should have.

They start walking at a comfortable pace, if everything went as planned, they would be having some lunch in a café, then walking around a park, and finally, they would go to Wataru’s home for a movie and spend the night there. He could hear the two talking lightly, with some laughs here and there.

“-and then Yuzuru had to clean it all up. I’m pretty grateful that I met him.” Eichi says with a smile.

“Why yes! Butler-san is very useful! His tea will never be on-par with mine of course.” He says proudly.

“Why don’t you at least bother to learn the names of your unit mates. Incorrigible.”

“Nicknames are much better, my dear Keito, you see, they come from the heart, I put a lot of thought into them!” He puts his hand over his heart in a dramatic fashion. “It wounds me that you think so lowly of me! Your boyfriend!” He drops onto the floor.

“Augh! You- “He chokes out in surprise. “We’re in public!” Keito frantically looks around, it appears many people had seen him, some looked with concern, and others tried to get away as fast as possible. He quickly makes him stand up. Wataru, with a pout, looks at him, unconcerned with the opinion of others. Did this guy have no shame?!

A snort stops their staring contest, looking for the source of the sound, they see Eichi with tears on his face, laughing like there was no tomorrow.

“Ahaha- “More giggles came bubbling through his mouth, without thinking he smiles as well. But once he notices he wipes it off. The powerful laugh of Wataru was coming through too, making him feel warm inside.

He sighs. “Stop messing around, let’s get going.” He says while falling into a steady pace again. The other two fell behind him. After a short walk they finally came to a stop, the café, named “Paradise”, was small and humble. It had become one of Eichi’s favorite places over time, it was near work and it had amazing tea. They entered and received a warm welcome by the owner, they were regulars, and the workers knew them by name.

“Welcome! Please take a seat, will you be taking the usual?”

“Yes, please.” He pays while the other two take a seat, while he did know that the both of them could pay for it just fine, he liked to treat them in any way he can.

He went to the table with them, it was right beside the window, in the corner of the room. There was a plant right beside the table -fondly named Charlie- and some dream catchers hanging in the ceiling. With some mindless chatter, time went by and their orders arrived. Wataru had asked for some Ceylon Black Tea -fittingly, it was called Magic Nights- and rainbow jello. While Eichi got some Chamomille Tea with a white chocolate cake. As for him, he had some Matcha Green Tea with a piece of Matcha cake.

From the corner of his eye, he could see that Wataru was trying to get a bite out of his cake, and while he didn’t stop him, he did give him an ugly glare.

He hears some sort of clicking sound and sees that Eichi took a picture of them all. Suddenly, his phone vibrates, and sees that it’s a notification from their group chat. He opens the file and is met with said picture. He had an annoyed look on his face while Wataru had his eyes locked on the cake. Eichi had a radiant smile, completely unfazed by their antics.

It brought a smile to his face, the amount of fondness he had for them was immeasurable. He wanted to thank whatever Gods had blessed him with such beings.

“Fufu, Keito, is that one of those rare smiles-?” Eichi looks at him mischievously, clearly enjoying himself.

He blushes. “I-I’m not smiling! Don’t look at me with that face.” He averts his gaze, in embarrassment, he brings his cup to his lips.

Time went by and they finished their food over some small talk. However, this was only the beginning of their date…
