anywayz i kinda went into both games knowing that they were trying to line up the timelines.. and everyone on the reddits were trying to figure out ways that the pirate and wizard were both doing things in the same world without having it cross together

THE BIT ABOUT THE ARMADA IS INTERESTING THOUGH... *spoilers* but they mention the armada ONCE when the spiral power meetings get a bit too heated and iirc a valencian says something along the lines of ''do you think were weak because of the lack of the armada?" etc etc WHICH IS LIKE !!!! WOJAK POINTING MEME.PNG THEY SAID SOMETHING ABOUT PIRATE!!! AND THE ARMADA... which also kind of confirms that arc 4 (and possibly arc 3?) takes place after valencia part 2 happens... which . also makes sense once you think about it

ALSO LIKE... the off chance that the armada has a chance to come back if situation calls for it (greed) is both funny and worrying . but also very 👁👁

So since I can't shut up about invisible characters in Wizard101, I'd just like to bring all of your esteemed attentions to That One Cabal Soldier

So context and spoilers for Karamelle and Novus, there was this just One Dude. Like idk how we even got to that point since I'm still in Mirage but like our Wizard just walks in a building and we're ambushed by a bunch of Cabal members and THIS ONE GUY is like "EVERYONE SHUT THE FUCK UP so we finally meet wizard >:)))))) you may be a nationwide hero who killed Satan and his spawns and **(goes through the entire first 3-4 arcs in one speech)** BUT NOW YOU HAVE TO FACE ME" and he wasn't even a boss. He was just like a mob level dude. And we beat his ass in .02 seconds and he's like "well damn I really thought I could do it" before he flips the switch and is like "I'LL BE BACK FOR YOU BITCH" and scuttles away

And like the next (and hopefully not last) time we see him is in Novus where it's been said that he has been literally obsessed with us since we kicked his ass and when we see him he goes "AHA! >:))))) REMEMBER ME, WIZARD??? I TOLD you I'd BE back, AND I HAVE A PET LIKE YOU!!!! Prepare to die!!!!1!" And we kick his ass one more time and he literally goes "DAMMIT I HATE THE CABAL ANYWAYS I want a vacation ugh >:((( anyways still hate/love you bestie byyeeee ❤️✨" and fucks off

What theories do you have about the Grand Prophecy, Raven and Spider?

For awhile I've been reading a fantasy series called Mistborn, by Brandon Sanderson. I won't talk about it in-depth because of spoilers, but two important aspects of Mistborn's plot are prophecies and gods. They're very important to the plot, and Sanderson puts effort into giving them a sense of grand importance and competence. I would've changed some things, but it still works very well.

And it got me thinking about Wizard101, and how it much it failed the lore surrounding Grandfather Spider and Grandmother Raven. We don't know anything about spirits like Atlach-Leng, Spider's children are incompetent and weak buffoons, we barely know the nature of the First World, some "Shadow Realm" was mentioned during Empyrea but we don't know what it was, Raven hardly executed any ploys to counteract Spider.

Shadow Magic has been grossly neglected both from a writing and gameplay perspective. All the implications about Spider presented in Khrysalis have been neglected. We know he created the Grand Prophecy, that the Spider Magi knew of his existence, and that he whispered to the Arachna. But we only know this through hints, with Arc 3 delving into none of it. We don't learn about this crap and never will, because the writers don't care for consistent lore or exploring the lore. Despite the fact that these are intertwined with the most powerful and important antagonists.

I want to ask you all, what theories do you have about the prophecy, Spider and Raven? And how would you incorporate these theories into a rewrite of Wizard101's plot?

HIIII!!! my fic is totally my dump for spider related headcanons but here are a couple off the top of my head!

- spider saw mellori as a child not knowing she was the daughter of raven. one way or another thru prophecy or vision or just showing up thru somebody else (#posession)...i have a sillier differenter fic abt this interpretation of his mirage battle dialogue but its very sweet to think about hahahaha.

- ive always had underdeveloped thoughts abt how spider sees spiral peoples, especially as some of them (such as aztecans) descend directly from first world peoples rather than having been created theoretically after the titan war. but somehow spider's attitude (if he is to be believed) toward the yw i think indicates smth abt how he sees mortals in the spiral. he talks a lot of shop about how he doesn't care for any of the spiral or its peoples because his ex made it, that they're all weak or fodder but he is still grateful for what the yw had done for him even if it were prophesized. even if it were essentially "fate" at that point - spider recognizes that even if the yws actions to help him were done under coercion (from himself or others) they were still kind actions to him - they made him say that the yw was "one of their favorite things the spiral made" bc of that act. you wouldn't necessarily tell that to somebody you regard as a puppet that was bound to do those things anyway. (ofc he could've been sweet talking us but i choose the belief that theres part truth in it-) TLDR: spider ascribes a very interesting free will to certain spiral beings despite manipulating their fates massively over the years -- and i think that indicates more of a kind opinion toward the spiral than he lets on.

- my funniest spider hc is that he loves knitting and like fabric-related arts because he's good at it and better than raven. you just know the motherfucker is making sweaters in the husk

- his blood contains the purest form of shadow magic. a reason among other things that the chaos heart is one of the most powerful shadow artefacts in the spiral. theoretically other body parts of his are up there as well in terms of power. but luckily for him they arent removable.... as far as we know

- another reason why spider is fond of the yw is because spider himself was essentially the first wizard/first teacher of wizards - bartleby doesn't betray either witchiness or wizardry honestly i think "druid" is a legitimate camp to be in and bartleby is there -- raven is overtly witchy -- i think spider is in his own way incredibly wizard-y and mage-like. i always like to think he gave nuggets of his knowledge to the spider mages and guided their studies for a time...and the reason why people dont speak abt wizardrys root in spider is bc of raven's casting of him as ultimate evil in spiral mythologies. the role of guide to wizards is given rather ambiguously to bartleby instead...

- this hc is silly but. the divinities eat azoth. spider subsisted on that shit even in the black hole. idc that immortals don't need to eat i think it'd be funny if they ate azoth. consume ancient magics my boy

- tho raven and apider settled down in the husk, they still watch the yw but dont say nothin. spider COULD step in and narrate but why would he. all of arc 4 is so literally not his business at all ur on ur own wizard. however spider gossips about the yws goings on in lieu of being helpful literally at all.

- spiders favorite non-shadow schools of magic r storm and myth bc they're the most chaotic ::::)

- spider isn't taking to divorce therapy very well at all. 💋

potential future spoilers for my wizard101 fic series "Forever Onward, Scion" below cut. I'm just, need to yell about the things I'm contemplating.

So. Obviously the endgame I'm pondering here is the Wizard becoming the Astral & Shadow instructor for the rebuilt Dragonspyre Academy.

I'm actually fully contemplating having the upperclassmen of Ravenwood reinstate the academy and start running it properly, in their new way.

Keeping in mind that I am barely at the start of arc 3, so my feelings on what the wizard considers rest and purpose by the "end" are still up in the air.

Give me a Dragonspyre Restoration Commission a la Hollow Bastion-Radiant Garden.

I want the wizard teaching astral and shadow magic because it's clear that shadow is treated as an intense danger by nature of it being "Chaotic". I want them teaching new students the astral schools and then teaching them that Shadow is a mirror to those schools, not just a "corruption" of it.

God. Ok. @extravalgant ur post ACTUALLY gave me brainrot and uh. I just realized that Bat and Dasein have remarkably similar character arcs.

Both were pulled from their respective 'abyss' by the Wizard (Bat from the Black Hole with Grandfather Spider, Dasein from whatever dimension of Nothing he camw from)

Both have an innate sense of curiosity (There's no way Bat couldve become the nerdy little brother with his cool gizmos and devices without curiosity. Curiosity and inventing go hand in hand. And of course, Dasein is so interested in the Everything that the Wizard introduced him to)

Both worry becoming like their various 'creators' (as Val brilliantly pointed out in their tags, Bat is terrified of simply being his father's son. And Dasein actively chooses to appear more smoky and voidy to distance himself from the Old One the slightest bit)

Both grapple with heroism and responsibility and morality (bat's "this feeling that we're doing the right thing, you feel that all the time?" And "You go out a hero or you live long enough to see yourself the villain. Im contenr with my destiny". Dasein's "does doing enough good outwiegh the bad, or are you indelibly stained?")

Both willingly sacrifice something major for the Spural's survival (Bat has to abandon his brothers, and while he does so boldly, I cant help but believe that some part of him misses them. I'd miss my brothers even if they are little shits. And of course, Dasein had to destroy the World Synthesizer and his only hope for keeping a physical form.)

Theyd be friends if they were ever able to meet. It's a shame that the Divine Kids and the Arc 4 gang are separate entities bc of the writers' malistairephobia.
