whenever we're playing Curse of Strahd and the DM (my husband) decides it's time to introduce a NPC who is either morally dubious or straight up obviously evil but describes and voices them in such a way that they're clearly super charismatic and/or hot:
this is so random but i was doing a genasi/titan wiki research session (for obvious reasons) and i saw that they had two sections on the genasi page that stood out to me. one was for the kryn dynasty, and one was for the cerberus assembly. i didn’t watch cr2 nor calamity, and i also don’t own egtw, which seems to be where most of this comes from, so if anyone knows more details about this pplleeeeaaase let me know i need to go insane about it, but. anyways. both are wild to me for different reasons,
basically the kryn have almost no genasi if any and so kryn scouts are under orders to bring any genasi they find home so that the dynasty can gain information about them. the cerberus assembly are noted to be obsessed with genasi and pressure any genasi they find in the empire to join the ranks of the assembly under pain of exile or even death (all of this is according to the wiki)
so. first off. can you imagine being the fucking kryn scout that carts in Ashton Fucking Greymoore. not only a genasi but. known beacon brain. constantly noted by pretty much everyone with magic to be weird as fuck and full of endless potential. maybe infused with a fragment of your god’s essence. That Fucking Guy
second off. can you imagine being the fucking cerberus assembly soldier or whatever that carts in Ashton Fucking Greymoore, especially now, when the fucking assembly is staring at ludinus’ moon laser and going what the shit is that. you bring in this fucking punk who’s very dead set on murdering that blond elf. and somehow that bitch didn’t notice what he had on his tail. so i guess it’s your turn to figure it the fuck out! good luck bitch!
Hi did anyone else know your Tav can speak in this cutscene if you don't have your party members with you did you know that did you all know that and you kept it a secret from me personally did you really not tell me that you can hear your Tav speak in this cutscene and I was just supposed to accidentally figure that out. did you know.
my biggest dnd sin is that I've been learning about/watching dnd being played for almost four years, and playing it for two years, and I've still never learnt how the Warlock class works
idk what it is but that's just how little it interests me as a class 😭
I think I read through the class features once when I got the players handbook. spell slots and scaling are whack. eldritch blast. invocations? don't know how they function. eldritch blast again.
Lone Trick my beloved Rogue Tabaxi! Finally got to brush her sheet off after 6 years! She is horrible @ anything that is not sleight of hand or Acrobatics to a point where it’s funny
i cant evem go home until Saturday and its the worst thing in the world trying to scrape by and try to force yourself (and failing) to do everything you have to do like id rather just give up go home now tell my family i failed a class and have gotten a c in another class band will probably end up failing more classes and then haven them passively berate me and deal with the classic youre wasting potential and youve become wasted potential spiel ive heard since likw 8th grade and then take myself to the back of the shed on my own volition and be done with everything.
just realized that i've had not one but two dnd moments that i'd envisioned in my head as Big and Dramatic thwarted (read: vastly improved) by the fact that the characters i was playing just happened to have really silly voices at the moment of Drama
I finally got to DM for the first time today! I actually had a pretty accurate idea going in of what my weaknesses would be (pacing, keeping track of monster HP, how often to ask for ability checks and when to just decide what happens, not accidentally spoiling impending events, paying attention to 5 people at once without missing a lot of what they say, ok now I've written it out this is a lot of things). I can see how this will get easier with practice, reading the rulebook more, etc. But overall it was a lot of fun!! It's pretty exhausting tho. But you know, high effort, high payoff. Being able to play a game where I get the most turns, for 4 hours. I would like to do that every week forever, please.
