A Different Kind of Adventure

Undead Male Yandere x Gender Neutral Reader (CW: Drowning, minor musk kink, murder, reader death, eventual undead reader, forced relationship, no sex, general yandere themes) Word Count: 1.4k (I did not have this beta read so I apologize for any mistakes I may have missed.) You had been traveling for several days, leaving your small village behind to become an adventurer in a larger city. It was your dream to fight monsters, save people, and travel the country! But one night while you were making camp you were ran off but a howling beast, likely a werewolf. You escaped the fowl beast but you had no idea where the trail was and even worse, most of your supplies had been left behind. Now lost, fatigued, and hungry you shambled aimlessly through the woods. At the very least you still had your sword and dagger to protect yourself. It was a hot and humid day and the forest and spaces between towns and villages was huge. You were drenched in sweat. You could probably forage and survive though if you had to as long as you found a  water source. But you could be stuck in the wilderness for quite a while. Finally you came across a small lake. Embarrassingly enough you did not know the maps of the area and could not discern your location by the presence of this lake. It looked like you were still pretty remote, with no obvious signs of human activity. You got closer and could now make out what appeared to be a humble stick and mud hut with a thatch roof not too far from the lake, with any luck it would not be abandoned and you could get some help. After drinking some of the pristine lake water and splashing some on your face you headed toward the hut. Before you could yell and ask if anyone was home a skinny young man came out. “Hello, I am Leif, I do not get many visitors out here.” As you approached you could see he had an odd smile and he was soaking wet, his shoulder length black hair clung to him. He must have just came in after swimming. He was shirtless and only had a pair of ragged pants on, showing off his lean build. He had pale skin that was just a bit grayish in tone. “Hi, I’m (Y/N), sorry to intrude, but um… I don’t even know where out here is.” You felt a bit uncomfortable under the intense gaze of his stormy gray eyes. “I figured you were lost, I can help you find a trail to a village several miles from here. About a day away. But you look so exhausted. Maybe you should stay here for the night and have some dinner.” Had you been less exhausted and less hungry you might have noticed that he seemed off. He sounded just a bit too eager to have you stay the night and his stare was borderline predatory, vaguely reminiscent of a cat staring at prey it was toying with. But, alas, you did not notice those things and your aching feet, lack of sleep, and rumbling belly compelled you to gratefully accept his very kind offer. The first thing you did was take a refreshing soak in the lake, it felt great but you were back to sweating in the stifling heat right after you left the water. Leif did not seem at all overheated, in fact his skin looked a bit cold and clammy. You hoped he wasn’t ill. He caught you two some fish that he prepared and cooked outside, he did not even need a rod, he just plunged into the deep part of the lake and came back with two medium sized fish. That was kind of amazing… You two sat on a log by the fire, he sat a bit uncomfortably close and you could swear for a moment he was trying to sniff you, but it was probably your mind playing tricks on you. You noticed he still wasn’t dry at all, had he jumped back in when you had not been looking? You ate the meal he provided and he seemed very pleased with himself when you ate every last bite. You sat with him a while and talked about your dreams and aspirations, got to know each other’s backstories. Leif’s story was quite tragic, he told you he had isolated himself due to abuse. It was getting dark so he invited you into his large hut, he was really sweet and let you use his wool stuffed bed. Leif slept on the floor with a spare bedroll. His bed smelled slightly like the lake mixed with a heady musk. It was a bit odd, but somehow comforting and you slept very well. When you got up it was nearly noon, Leif had made you a breakfast of eggs he had foraged. Once more he was drenched, did he do anything but swim in his spare time? “Thank you for your hospitality, you probably saved me, these woods can be so dangerous. But I have burdened you long enough and I really most get going!” “Don’t worry (Y/N), you have not been a burden to me at all. It was so nice to have company! The nearest village is around the lake, then you just go straight until you hit a path and you follow it until you hit the village. How about I come with you? Just until you walk around the lake, I really like talking with you.” He gave you that odd smile and playfully predatory look again, you could not place what was unsettling about it, but he had treated you extremely well and at no real benefit to himself. So of course you told him he could join you, if he wanted your company a bit longer it was the least you could do. You set off, making pleasant idle chatter as you walked. “I’m sorry (Y/N), I just cannot be alone anymore.” You turned to him and were about to ask what he meant when in an instant his skin became grayer, black rings encircled his eyes, eyes that were now snake like. All his teeth became sharp and pointed. This transformation happened so abruptly that you could not even react before he had his hands around your throat, shoving you back and into the cool water. You tried so hard to pull his arms off, but despite looking deceptively skinny he was extremely powerful with a grip like cold steel. When he held your head under the water you thrashed your legs wildly, your flailing kicks did not phase him at all, you were panicking, trying so desperately to live. Your lungs burned as you inhaled and water rushed into your lungs. Your struggles grew more feeble until you completely faded away. When you awoke the first thing you noticed was that you were wet. You felt very uneasy, Leif was laying behind you and spooning you. Suddenly you recalled him drowning you and tried to get out of the bed, but he held you closer to him. “Oh hi (Y/N)!! I’m so glad you’re up so we can start our lives together! Sorry I killed you, but I only did it so you wouldn’t be able to leave me! I was alone for over a century after I drowned, and you smelled so nice~” He nuzzled you and kissed your neck gently. “Now that we are both dead nothing can ever hurt us!” You noticed with terror that your skin was now the same skin tone as his, gray. Even though your heart should have been beating with anxiety you realized you had no heartbeat at all! You really were undead, blood kept circulating only by dark magic. Dark magic that bound you to your killer. You somehow knew you would never be able to leave him. You started sobbing as you realized that all your ambitions and dreams had died with you, you were broken and went limp in his arms, resigned to your fate. He had not intended to do this to you, but as he got to know you and caught your scent it was simply impossible for him not to. Leif wiped away your tears and kissed your cheek. He would make you see that (un)life with him was better. It was just like an adventure! Just a different kind. He was so thrilled, he just loved you so much, in fact, he loved you to death~

Headcannon~

He would constantly follow you around after meeting you.

Ava tells him to stop following you and trys keeping him in? Screw it he'll teleport to you.

He originally tried killing you but last minute decided not to because it just didn't feel right.

So naturally after that he kinda just followed you around and tried to be sneaky.

Key word TRIED.

After awhile he got bored of stalking you and maybe kidnapped you-

Or if you were friends before hand he would just convince you to let him tag along with you. Or find some reason to go along.

Asch would probably be annoyed by his antics and wouldn't understand while he is acting like this.

Of course Peirce and Rhys would notice sooner.

And Ava of course but she doesn't understand daemos culture and would mistake that for normal antics from Leif.

In the end Leif would become overprotective, clingy, and paranoid.

His paranoia would stem from when he was left behind in Daemos. So naturally he wouldn't want it to happen again.

He woud make it were you couldn't leave him.

He would become extremely paranoid anytime you went out and or tried communicating with anyone other then Ava and the other Daemos. And even THAT to him was pushing it.

And at this point if you aren't able to calm him down and get him to stop going insane Asch would step in and say he needs to leave you alone.

After all he has to protect the Daemos Prince.

And in the long run that won't keep him from you.

Only anger him~
