Hey there! Yahnny here 😁 Can you spot our recycled camping gear 🧐? Towards the left, there is a white shopping bag that was reused repeatedly and a potato chip bag that was used for our rubbish. There’s also a paper tomato tray that was used to store various vegetables after they’d been cut. We were traveling for two weeks this summer by car through Sweden and camped every day. It’s our preferred mode of “lodging” whenever possible. Also, cooking nutritious foods every day was pleasurable 🍎! Growing up, my mother taught me to use what was available, to use everything as much as possible, and to create dishes from leftovers. She was great with that! I can’t thank her enough for teaching me how to look for ingredients that are in season and to grow vegetables so that I knew what good produce looks, smells, and tastes like. She also taught me that every meal should be prepared with love and care because food becomes a part of us. Also, before sustainability became a widely known term, I was reusing bags and containers because my mom always cooked enough for days and it is in our Filipino culture to share food ❤ When we have a chance to eat together, you will most likely see me “zen-like” cooking. "Åstol was first inhabited in the mid-18th century in connection with one of the great herring periods. The fishing industry continued to provide a good livelihood for the island people, and during the heydays there were around 500 inhabitants. More than 20 large steel trawlers had their home port on Åstol in the 1960s. The fishing industry declined during the 1970s and many people moved off the island, but new residents arrived to enjoy the magic of the place during the summer. Sunsets in Hawai‘i can be of the most beautiful in the world 😍 But did you know this:⠀ “If you watch the sunset with a group of people, particularly near a resort, there’s an excellent chance you’ll witness the Hawaiian Pū ceremony. At sunset, it’s traditional to blow a shell horn. The first note of the horn is blown when the bottom of the sun touches the water. Three more notes are blown, with the last sounded when the sun disappears. The notes call four Hawaiian gods. A final note of goodbye and Mahalo (thanks) ends the ceremony. Basque Country, Spain - “Located on the coast of Zumaia, Itzurun Beach is one of the most spectacular areas. Its huge and the vertical cliffs and the limestone walls that reach the 150 metres of slope will attract visitors, where they will be able to admire a geological phenomena called flysch caused by the erosion of the sea throughout the years.⠀ ⠀ Itzurun Beach is 270 metres long, and has golden sand and heavy swell. It is located close to the urban area of Zumaia. Water sports lovers will have the chance to practise different activities, such as surfing, canoeing or bodyboarding. There are right-hand and left-hand waves that vary depending on the tides. The western part of San Telmo Beach requires a higher level of skill because of its sand and rock bottom.
