have not and am not going to watch boruto but what i've gathered so far is that they maul naruto's character give that homosexual sasuke a wife and bulldoze over everything the original series took seven hundred chapters to build. got it
#naruto#i really do not get it how do you tear the characters you spent the majority of your life writing to shreds for more cash in your wallet.#id rather end my shit kishimoto is the bane of my existence sometimes#how do you make it abundantly clear that sasuke never cared for sakura throughout the whole series then you not only make them married#but you give them a whole child which sasuke straight up neglects?#do you really think after everything he went through sasuke would be so far up his own ass to have a child with a woman he doesnt love#and proceed to neglect said child. like after everything that happened to him#im not even mentioning naruto. [about to mention naruto]#this man spent his whole life trying to become hokage to [at first] be acknowledged by the village that ostracized him for so long#and then to reform the shinobi system that he himself acknowledges AT AGE TWELVE is deeply fucked up#and throughout the whole series he promises to change things from how they have been for hundreds of years#yet even when kishimoto makes naruto never going back on his word a major part of his character in boruto hes just. there?#not doing anything? complacent and useless like every other kage before him? that is so deeply out of character for him#youd think the LITERAL AUTHOR OF THE MANGA WOULD KNOW BETTER#naruto isnt the selfish moron hashirama was or the racist idiot tobirama was or the corrupt politician hiruzen was#or the send-insane-teenager-into-anbu knucklehead minato was or the alcoholic or the guy who doesnt even wanna be here#[as much as i love me some hashirama he was really a selfish bastard but that is an essay i will write some other day]#the logical conclusion to naruto's character would be him finally achieving hokage status#and actually going through and changing the system that he and Every Fucking One He Meets In The Show has suffered at the hands of#fucking hell even his right hand man shadow hokage [read: gay best friend] sasuke himself#from madara to izuna to his clan to itachi that man had every right to blow that place the fuck up but he chose to stay with naruto instead#and oh god the way they could have worked together. they couldve lead the village and the five nations#to the mantra of No More Child Soldiers everyones been chanting since the fucking sage was born#but kishimoto decided no...lets make him a bootlicker absent dad! i am completely correct in this decision im sure#and decided that the moral of the story was that old traditions die hard and you shouldnt speak ill of the dead#and the system is bad but you gotta endure yknow :/#and sasuke#sasuke middle name revolution uchiha#sasuke middle name change at any cost no one should keep living like this and the poeple that made them should pay uchiha#JUST FUCKING AGREED?

People who say “Sakura deserves better” are nuts. She put HERSELF in that situation. She chased after Sasuke and continues to force herself on to him until he gave her what she wants. So in the words from a wise person: “She made her bed. Now she has to sleep in it.”
PS: If anyone deserves better is Sasuke, Naruto, TenTen, Neji, and anyone who didn’t get a good happy ending
There are many people who still screams, 'Kishimoto is bad at this and that'.
I am a person who thinks, 'Kishi is damn excellent at Character Building. He is not someone who is going to pull punches, he just jabs straight into our mind when it comes to establishing the characters and their motivations in a very few panels, say 2 or 3, and that too in a very early stage'.
Example
NARUTO
He is the titular character and got introduced in the 1st chapter, 6th page. Naruto is launched as the hyperactive kid who vandalizes the Hokage Monuments in the name of pranks and gets punished for it. We all would have thought, ‘Naruto is a typical Class Clown who likes to pull pranks’.
But after few pages (Meanwhile he pulled another prank by doing Oiroke no Jutsu before Iruka), that is at page 10, Kishi drives the first Knife right through our hearts with the following panel. This is the panel where Naruto is seen having his first conversation in the Manga.
Tumblr media
‘It’s not like I have anyone to go home to’.
Man!!!! This line really hurts... even now. This one panel tells us,
Naruto is a happy-go-lucky person who likes to pull pranks.
He is also an Orphan.
But such drawbacks will never hinders Naruto’s cheerful spirit at any time.
Despite not having any one to take care of him, he is not a person who will cry or wail in sadness forever.
Isn’t that who Naruto is?? Until the very end?
In a single panel, just one effing panel, Kishimoto informs the readers about Naruto’s Attitude and Background.
And immediately in page 12, We get this picture perfect gem of a panel.
Tumblr media
Now we get, Naruto’s dreams, where this Kid is striving towards and what motivates him. That is To
BECOME AN HOKAGE.
Isn’t that what he became at the end?
Kishi didn’t take chapters and chapters to create a dream for Naruto. He just went all-out in a span of 2 pages and in 2 panels.
Let’s see the other Main Character of this series.
SASUKE
In Manga, Chapter 3 was named Uchiha Sasuke whereas in the Anime, Pink Trash’s name was self-inserted too. Grrr.....
Anyways, Sasuke was introduced as some cool guy with IDGAF attitude. (Well, I thought he will be some arrogant Jerk with some K-Drama hero vibes. I hate these kind of jerks, tbh). We see he is popular among girls and a class topper.
We don’t know anything about his background yet.
But then, there’s this ‘Frame this Picture in your Home’ kind of panel was drawn in Page 21.
Tumblr media
God!!! This panel!!!!
“The feeling of a parent yelling at you is nowhere near what he feels”
Can I say it’s my most favorite panel of this series????
This panel screams many things
Sasuke is not just a cold looking jerk, but he is a person who stands up for insensitiveness.
He understands Naruto’s loneliness. Does it means Sasuke is also an Orphan or experienced something bad?? (In manga his orphan status wasn’t established yet).
He knows something about Naruto which we audience don’t know yet. That’s why he is defending Naruto even though Naruto kissed him and tied him up prior to this scene.
You will always get some reaction out of Sasuke when you talk about Naruto in front of him. More importantly, Don’t speak about him in a negative light.
21 pages into Chapter 3, Sasuke didn’t speak much about anything prior to this page. We don’t know anything about him apart from his aesthetics. But when he speaks, Kishi conveyed almost 60% of Sasuke’s Characterization in a single panel.
This is Who Sasuke is.... Even till the very end.
Immediately after this Chapter, We get the Team 7 introduction scene. We already knew about Naruto’s dream in chapter 1. He repeats the same here.
Tumblr media
We get Sasuke’s ambition. His ambition forms the major part of his character and he is damn serious about it.
He really did accomplish his goals in the end but in a much painful way. With just 2 panels, we get to know that his Clan is destroyed by someone and Sasuke wants to kill him. So, him being Orphan is almost a sure thing here. And what we can also infer from this panel is that Sasuke is a Goal-Oriented person.
Let move on to the Ms. Pink Trash
SAKURA
Well, For Naruto and Sasuke, Kishi was super detailed about setting up their character background.
For Sakura, we don’t know who she is or what is her back story. Throughout the chapter, her motivation is to get inside Sasuke’s pants.
Tumblr media
Up until page 19, Sakura behaves the same. Yeah, Am not going to include the orphan insult here because that will only do more damage. Am just going to be very generous and skip that part.
In Chapter 4, Sakura unveils her grand dream
Tumblr media
Geezzz!!!!! There’s nothing to discuss about her. She is just a horny girl who has no motivation, no goal or no dreams but to get Sasuke’s duck.
Isn’t this how she ended up as????
Why the fuck she deserves better?????
Kishi is screaming at us from Chapter 4, that ‘THIS IS YOUR SAKURA, THE HORNY QUEEN’. When Naruto and Sasuke’s characteristics were pretty much (like 90%) set in stone in the first 4 chapters and added to that, it never changed until the very end, how can he change Sakura’s motivations?
Yes, he could’ve made her into a woman who got inspired from Tsunade and want to surpass her and live independently without going behind a man.
But, I never saw any indication of that happening in any arcs. Even in Kazekage retrieval arc, Sakura became serious in fighting Sasori only after hearing Orochimaru’s name (getting info on him will lead to Sasuke). Prior to that, she was playing innocent girl who doesn’t know how to fight.
So, Kishi is dead set on not making this character evolve by letting go of her obsession towards Sasuke. She was just a character who was designed to elevate the level of bond between them or should I say ‘a useless 3rd wheel’?
No matter what,
Naruto and Sasuke will prefer to set their ambitions aside for each other rather than for Sakura.
Sakura’s life in danger never generated a pain in Naruto but the very thought of Sasuke who will be killed made him hyperventilate.
Sakura’s life in danger never evoked Kyuubi to emerge but Sasuke’s ‘apparent’ death, the thought of Sasuke cutting his ties with him, Orochimaru mentioning ‘My Sasuke kun’ made Naruto to go feral.
Even if 1000s of people were put in danger, Sasuke will prefer to save Naruto and run away.
Where is Sakura in any of this??? I’ve never seen any instances where Naruto or Sasuke put Sakura in a high pedestal, like Kakashi and Obito put Rin.
It’s not that she deserved better, It’s just that she had no useful motivations that drives her to evolve as a developed character.
Learn to Deal with the fact that Kishimoto never planned to give 2 fucks about her at any point of time. Let alone talking about deserving better. If you watch this series from the POV of the likes of Sakura, then you will spout shits like ‘Sakura is the only person who can beat Madara’.

why is Sumire so important in the anime? Boruto’s auntie is her team leader, she has nue, is a love interest (why play the Last song in her coming home scene?). If she’s a love interest, will it be instrumental to a major plot twist? Is she a “first love” and will die tragically? Boruto’s goal is to protect Sarada. Sarada’s wellbeing is his GOAL, that will not waver. I know you can protect your friends, but in future, when he protects Sarada, it just doesn’t sit well if his with someone else!
I...never got the feeling that Sumire was very important in the anime. Like ever. But that does not mean that I am diminishing her role in the story. I just feel that while she is relevant to the plot, she is just not in the “Hinata” territory. I feel that her importance is not from the romantic point of view but from the genuine plot point of view. I will come back to your first question later on.
Alright, first of all, let me rob you of the misconception that Sumire is a love interest. A love interest is a person where a person, say X, is romantically interested in (consistently), has romantic feelings for or is in love with. Sumire is none of the above to Boruto. She is, therefore, not a love interest to Boruto. Sumire, however, is romantically interested in Boruto. So, Boruto is a love interest to Sumire but not vice versa. Because Sarada is not very subtle with her affections for Boruto, Boruto is a love interest for Sarada as well. Conversely, unlike in Sumire’s case where Boruto’s feelings have not been shown to run beyond platonic fondness, Boruto has shown subtle actions which imply his not so platonic intentions towards Sarada. Hence, Sarada is a potential love interest of Boruto. This negates any chances of Sumire being Boruto’s “first love”. This is in direct contrast to Naruto where prior to the Pain Invansion Arc- Land of Iron Arc, Sakura was Naruto’s love interest while Hinata was Naruto’s potential love interest, but following which, Hinata became the love interest while Sakura was relegated to the potential love interest. This is based on the fact that Naruto had an out rightly stated crush on Sakura till prior to Land of Iron Arc even though his interactions with Hinata kept on receiving remarkable amount of development and importance. Following the same, Naruto’s continued interactions with Hinata and rejection of Sakura’s confession basically upturned their positions. So, Sumire is nowhere in neither “Sakura” nor “Hinata” territory. In fact, it is Sarada who seems to be in “Sakura”+”Hinata”+”Kushina” territory.
Second, I didn’t know that the background music played during Sumire’s return scene was from the Last. I couldn’t find the scene on YouTube to verify what you wrote. However, I will take your word for it. But honestly, I don’t think it’s that unusual. OST from Boruto: Naruto The Movie was used during the Vs Momoshiki arc. OST from original Naruto and Naruto Shippuden is also used in Boruto, so I feel it’s more of a logistical thing rather than anything else. Even if the director is using The Last OST to imply BoruSumi, I doubt that’s to imply that they are endgame. It’s more like using similar situations to camouflage BoruSara using BoruSara like NaruSaku was used to camouflage NaruHina through the former’s parallels to MinaKushi.
Third, it is true that she seems to...stick out? She has an interestingly tragic backstory, a unique set of skills AND a unique summon. Certainly such a character should be prominent right? Yet, she is placed on a team which barely seems to appear on screen and gets negligible development. If she were to have more impact on the storyline, she should have been with Metal and Iwabe while Denki should have been with Wasabi and Namida. Because let’s admit it, Team Udon is the only team apart from the Team Konohamaru and Team Moegi that gets any decent amount of writing. Team Hanabi seems to hanging somewhere between Team Udon and those two absent teams from Boruto’s graduating batch in terms of development of any kind. Yet unlike the rest of the characters, she appeared in Boruto manga if it was only to provide a romantic catalyst to Sarada.
As far as I am concerned, I think she is in the “Neji” territory. She might end up being the first major death from the new generation. Her connection to parallel dimensions via Nue as well as to research concerning Scientific Ninja Tools brings her at a unique crossroad where she might end up trying to protect Konoha’s secrets or prevent a portal to other dimensions being opened by Kara or from Naruto being sealed by Kawaki or preventing the coming of the space Otsutsukis to Earth or whatever other bleak scenario her unique position throws her in. Since Boruto is supposed to be darker and I personally feel she got off way too easily for trying to blow up the entire village, I think she might up having a heroic or tragic death, beginning a dark chapter for the entirety of the new generation and not only Boruto.
I don’t think Sumire is a tragic “first love” who died and left the hero heartbroken or something of the sort. Primarily because Boruto has not shown even a drop of romantic interest in her. In fact, since Sarada seems to have a hold over Boruto, it is BoruSara which will probably go through a tragic phase. Bear in mind, Boruto is supposed to lose everything he holds dear. His family is what is most important to him, closely followed by Sarada who is his oldest friend. But I do feel that Sumire will end up having a huge impact on Boruto much like what Neji did for Naruto. She was his “first villain” after all.
In terms of Hanabi being Sumire’s team leader, I feel that Kodachi or Kishimoto or both just decided to round up those in Konohamaru’s generation or the graduating batches close to his year or potential shinobi close to his age and just dropped off Hanabi on Team 15 thinking, “Oh yeah, so we have an all girls team which we need to complete the set of new Konoha 12. Since Konohamaru, Moegi and Udon have already been taken, let’s just put Hanabi out there.” I don’t think it’s much deeper than that.
Coming to Boruto’s goals, anon, I think you are mixing up three overlapping but very different things out here. First, Boruto’s goal to be a support and bodyguard to the Hokage. Second, Sarada’s dream to be the Hokage. And third, Boruto’s own personal desire or instinct to protect Sarada.
Boruto has clearly stated that his goal is to be a shinobi like Sasuke, that is, to be the support/bodyguard to the Hokage. To be the Shadow Hokage. Boruto’s goal is, by itself, not to be Sarada’s bodyguard. Neither is her well-being his goal. It is because Sarada dreams to be the Hokage that he said he will protect her when she becomes the Hokage. To make you understand what I am trying to say, if you take just this part of what both of them are aiming to be very objectively, I don’t believe there is anything wrong with either of them ending up with two different people and not each other because they have intertwined career goals, not personal life goals. Say in this scenario, if it was Shikadai who wished to be the Hokage, the very question of BoruShika whether or not happening wouldn’t have existed. Because it would have been an entirely platonic situation. Much like Naruto and Sasuke at present.
But Boruto’s desire to protect Sarada, his investment in her well-being and his unwavering support to her is his own personal desire, something which exists independently outside their career goals. It existed even before Sarada wished to become the Hokage, even before Boruto found his own shinobi path and will continue to exist even if someday Sarada no longer wishes to the Hokage. It is because Boruto and Sarada have an extra helping of personal investment in each other which have romantic implications that makes the situation so much more....I don’t know....romantic? Had there never been any meaningful ship tease between Boruto and Sarada, I doubt that Boruto and Sarada having intertwined career dreams/goals and yet landing up with two different people and not each other would have bothered any one (including you and me). But because there has been a great deal of meaningful romantic implications, I do believe that, yeah, it would make for a very icky situation if BoruSara is not endgame. The chances of that ever happening is almost zero however.
I don’t doubt that neither Boruto’s goal to become the Shadow Hokage and be a support/bodyguard to the Hokage nor his instinctive desire to protect and care for Sarada (or his other friends and family, for that matter) will ever waver. If the flashforward is anything to go by, Boruto has shaped up to be an extremely admirable young man in the future who doesn’t seem to take things lightly.

would you mind sharing your thoughts on sasuke and his interactions with team taka compared to with team 7?
Right, so. I’ll put the TL;DR at the top, because my post will basically amount to this: Team 7 is bad for Sasuke. Taka is good for Sasuke.
I also can’t promise this post is like...organized lol.
I get why people obsess over Team 7. It’s the team Sasuke was originally in, sometimes they function to do some cool shit, and the fandom (and 3/4 of the team’s members) have an obsession with keeping the original team together. ...Even if they barely function. No, I’m not counting Yamato or Sai* for this post.
The team is grossly overhyped, to the point people try to claim it functions better than the other teams presented in the manga. Yet no one stops to realize that the other teams never had a member bail on them and have never had major issues with getting along and producing teamwork. Team 7 is rife with problems from the very beginning. For one, prior to the team’s creation, Sakura is Naruto’s bully. And Naruto frequently harasses Sasuke. Sakura is also obsessed with Sasuke, a love that is, by Kishimoto himself, described as selfish. And wew, throughout this 700 chapter run this love continues to be just that, selfish.
It’s Sasuke that originally introduces teamwork to the team. Sasuke forfeits his lunch to Naruto first, Sasuke prepares himself for Kakashi to come down on them. Sakura is aghast, why would he disobey!? Turns out Sasuke’s kindness passed them the test. But even after that, their teamwork is basically non-existent. Prior to the Land of Waves mission, Naruto is absolutely obsessed with the idea that Sasuke is out to make him look stupid or weak, when Naruto is the one absolutely fucking up every D-rank they go on. Even Sakura is preferable here, she’s actually working with Sasuke like a platoon should. Sasuke is more than willing to work with Naruto if Naruto could let his freak complex go for five minutes to do something as an actual squad.
Now-- this post isn’t to claim Sasuke doesn’t care for Team 7; specifically Naruto, and Sakura. He does, and I won’t claim otherwise. It’s just in Sasuke’s nature, he can’t help it, he isn’t a hateful/spiteful person by nature, and feelings like that he has to actively work to maintain. So despite both of these people being unhealthy for Sasuke, he grew to care for them anyways. This is highlighted when he’s willing to sacrifice his life to save Naruto from Haku. His body moved on its own-- his instinct to protect people is just that strong. And again during the fight with Gaara. He expresses he doesn’t want to lose people close to him again, and he is willing to use his  body to break Naruto’s fall.
It’s possible to care deeply for people who are bad for you. This kind of stuff happens all the time.
When Sasuke leaves, the worst traits of T7 come to play. This unending, absolute obsession with bringing Sasuke back and completing the team. To complete the “nostalgia.” Sakura sings her own number when one of her selling points to Sasuke is how it would make her feel. And again in 693 this argument is presented;
“If we’re together again, I’m sure we could go back to those days...” What days? Genin days? Days that were apparently hunky-dory for you. Not a single thought to how those days were for Sasuke. It’s ALL about the nostalgia factor and how she felt during that time in childhood. It’s all about bringing him back to complete a set.
Naruto is his own set of problems. He feels dangerously entitled to bringing Sasuke back. He sure gets pissed off about Orochimaru claiming Sasuke is his, for a person who also considers Sasuke his. How about Sasuke doesn’t belong to anyone? Nah, that’s not something Naruto is going to consider. Everything is about bringing Sasuke back. He’s willing to break bones and beat him to a pulp and drag him back. What a nice friendship.
Naruto consistently claims Sasuke as a friend; “because i’m YOUR friend”, lording that over Sasuke, he’s decided apparently and Sasuke has no say in it. And in fact, the only times Sasuke says it back is when he’s about to kill him. Naruto seriously fucked up the definition of the word friend for Sasuke, there’s a scary reason why Sasuke won’t call anyone else that specific term.
It’s worth mentioning in both Sakura’s novel and Sasuke’s novel, Sakura decides the proper way to get Sasuke into a relationship with her is by chasing him and continually confessing until he’s too exhausted to say no. His no is irrelevant anyways, she won’t listen.
I probably missed some stuff, but now I want to talk about Taka.
The first big difference in Taka vs T7 is that Sasuke chose Taka. He personally chose these people himself, and not even on a whim. He’d  planned these specific people for a very long time. Sasuke has a level of agency here, in that he chose who to surround himself with, as opposed to people being selected for him. Taka has issues in the beginning, sure, but no member feels dangerously entitled to his feelings or time.
“but Karin!”
Karin’s attracted to him, and would rather have him alone, sure. But Karin knows when to back off from Sasuke, and doesn’t spent her time wailing to him about how her feelings matter over his. She doesn’t ignore his agency in a dangerous manner.
Taka starts off rocky, with Suigetsu warning Sasuke about Karin, and then both of them warning Sasuke about Juugo. But once the team is together they know how to communicate and work together. They have scrolls to warn each other something has happened, as shown when Sasuke fights Deidara and has to summon Manda to survive. They take care of Sasuke when he is healing, and then  effectively lead the Leaf village shinobi astray as Sasuke moves to get Itachi’s location. They also stay together during that fight, and quickly come back to Sasuke’s side after Itachi is killed.
Sasuke originally said his goal was to kill Itachi; that being the team’s only reason to stay together. Yet....Taka remains a group even after Itachi is dead. They still want to remain by Sasuke’s side, and help him in his endeavors.
Taka all have something in common-- people used or otherwise abandoned by the system, and taken advantage of. Karin was orphaned when she alone could detect her village’s oncoming massacre, Suigetsu was kidnapped to be tortured/experimented on by Orochimaru, Juugo could literally not find help for his condition anywhere else and turned to Orochimaru. We all know Sasuke’s story too. And of course, by the look of the post-ending material, literally no one wanted anything to do with Taka’s members, forcing them all to go back to Orochimaru.
The main takeaway from this is that Taka’s members don’t feel as if their own desires supercede Sasuke’s in such a manner that it’s harmful to Sasuke. They are a cohesive unit, where as T7 only works in pairs, IE, Naruto/Sasuke will occasionally fight well as a duo, Sakura/Naruto fight well as a duo. Instead of wanting and demanding something from Sasuke, Taka stands up for him and helps him. Suigetsu thinks VERY highly of Sasuke, telling the prisoners he’s freeing in Orochimaru’s lair that Sasuke is here to bring justice and peace to the ninja world. Juugo wants nothing more than to stay by his side and support him, and Karin, while attracted to him, is more than happy to step down and let Sasuke fall in love with someone else, because him being able to be happy is more important. (This isn’t me saying I like SS or he’s happy in SS, just Karin’s logic.)
*I consider Sai a part of T7, purely because Sai actually wants to be in it, and he cares for both Naruto and Sakura’s well being. Too bad Naruto and Sakura could give less of a shit about that, because dragging Sasuke back into a team he doesn’t want to be in is more important. Again....nostalgia factor.

Sasuke and SASUSAKU.
Okay, I just saw this and I’ll humor you. I’ll even make a whole post for you.
@homez18
1)      Whether  Kishimoto said he was good or bad at writing romance is pretty irrelevant here as sasusaku related material made it into 44 of his 72 volumes. And actually, he never said he is bad at writing romance, he said he felt uncomfortable seeing characters he ‘grew’ kiss (Hinata and Naruto) and that he does not understand the hearts of women so he had to consult his editor and wife to write certain SS scenes, which in itself is effort spent. He never said ‘Idk how they got together’ he said he wrote the story with them in the back of his mind wondering how he would make them end up together and just decided to go with the flow.  This is coming from the man who also said in the second board meeting with the Naruto staff that they were end game since their conception as character #5 and #6 respectively, a rival and a heroine added to the story and he thought of making a love triangle thing happen but was like no I probably could not pull that off. So, there goes that argument.
2)      I will mention part 2 ss if you want me to, friend. But, saying SS does not make sense to the character (who I am assuming is sasuke?) and trying to erase part 1 is pretty???? Because a lot of part 2 was focused on getting the Sasuke they loved in part 1 back..a happier more emotionally stable one though.
3)      Part 1 SS is very important because it is the time during the run of the series that featured the most  positive emotional growth and development for sasuke, and a huge part of it was linked to sakura. We start off with this irritable, socially reclusive boy who’s first thought in the series is ‘more people will just drag me down’, and we later learn the reason of this behavior is trauma and survivors guilt which often leads to isolation, repression and irritability. This is not me trying to add psychology to his character arc, all of this is out right shown multiple times on spaced out occasions which reinforces that these are reoccurring thoughts. His fixation on his ‘revenge plot’ was aided by the fact that he was an introverted shy boy (this does not equal wants to be left alone considering he regularly sought acknowledgment) pre massacre and a full blown out isolated mess afterwards. Being alone only allowed him to obsess over revenge further, which no matter how you look at it is not healthy and it was never shown in the series to be healthy.
But anyways, I digress. A lot of him growing positively linked to Sakura. Some of his biggest part 1 moments include fighting orochimaru, awakening his seal and suppressing it (the cursed seal is arguably one  of  the biggest progressions of his character in part 1 as it leads to him being manipulated into leaving the village) and his fight with gara (again, arguably the moment he showed how much he grew as a character with team 7)
4)      Don’t forget. The Curse of Hatred (憎しみの呪い, Nikushimi no Noroi) was an ideal common to the Uchiha Clan, the Uchiha are people greatly devoted to love and friendship, yet they tend to conceal their more affectionate traits. When the object of their affection is lost, an Uchiha’s love can instantaneously turn into hatred, leaving them more inclined to do anything and everything in their power to achieve their goals and show their own superiority, regardless of the consequences and repercussions of their actions. The despair of these experiences cause a manifestation of unique chakra within an Uchiha’s brain, impacting the optic nerves and creating the sharingan. This also requires extremely painful experiences, which cause the user to delve into darkness that utterly consumes them.
I won’t bring this up
Tumblr media
                        Because this also happens
Tumblr media
What I am trying to say is early part one gave a very good set up for who sasuke really is as a person, genuinely pretty empathetic and pure hearted which is easily backed up by the fact that when he was a kid (kishi regularly uses childhood to explain a psyche of a character) despite his inferiority complex growing due to his brother, he was still more concerned with the relationship between his dad and his brother going sour than his own feelings of neglect.
Even so, it was still obvious that he needed to go through some positive development.
The first time we are introduced to Sasuke’s stance in the entire series as an avenger is through his first interactions with sakura, which were literally given romantic context from volume 1 and mentioned again over the entire series and highlighted nearing the finale in volume 70, so yeah pretty relevant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His isolation and irritability generally made him seem off standoffish but even with that, he took his time out to explain his stance in the story which is a pretty fuckin big deal considering this opening up is something suigetsu complains about in part 2 and jugo struggles to understand him because of. Naruto has to physically pull it out of him, kakashi got it when sasuke was in a very emotionally volatile state and sakura got it with a hug.
Tumblr media
Cut to the first mission and his ties with naruto and sakura are established , the rival friend and the girl with the crush he feels some sort of protective affection for.
Tumblr media
Moments like these (that make grown ass men cry but get antis panties in a knot) are funny bc when you say that he is comfortable with her touch already someone has to say he just woke up, but homeboy had a bunch of senbon sticking into him like a hedgehog and he still took a moment to call naruto a moron and say he did not want to die before accomplishing revenge.
So, until this day the person he is most physically comfortable with sakura and we all know how he feels about physical touch haha
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After said mission, a very sweet and important scene happens and it highlights a shift in character for sasuke. It’s also the scene my avid sasuke hater friend says ‘the only time that dick did anything nice’. Where after he has a lil salty moment with a naruto who was acting particularly bratty that day gives Sakura the ‘instead of minding me why don’t you practice a jutsu? To be frank with you, your abilities are even less than naruto’s.’ which if after the guy readily jumped in front an attack to protect her you think he is going out of his way to be a dick then that is a pretty faulty assumption. He was being frank, it is what it is. Was it needed to make sakura realize her ass needs to grow up? Yes. Could it have been worded better? Also, yes. Which is why the next scene happens where Sasuke grows more in tune with her and is able to tell she is feeling down. Him being aware of and caring about her personal feelings is a huge step forward  for his character and is pretty much the only time this type of behavior exists from him.
Tumblr media
He is being nice, says a huge compliment and look at his little smile, he is satisfied that she is happy. A huge step forward from ‘I don’t care for bonds bc I have revenge!!11!!’
The fight vs rock lee happens and sasuke grows a little more and team 7 has a scene furthering their bonds (added romantic context on sakuras part ofc)
Tumblr media
During the chuunin exams ofc they face orochimaru and sasuke over comes something shown right in the beginning of the land of the waves arc : an intense paralyzing fear of strong  opponents with an intense blood lust dating back to the day of the massacre.
He sees Sakura shaking and his sharingan activates, showing he is worried about her and as they are about to get attacked he forces himself to move (ugoke!) and stabs himself to go get her. Cute moment showing he cares. A lot.
Tumblr media
And yet again a huge character moment, when she calls him out on being a coward and for his hypocrisy towards naruto, insulting him frequently yet in the same position naruto was once in and in his mind he immediately flashes  back to the reason he always believed he needed to live : his ‘moral burden’ of killing itachi and for the first time refuses to live tied by the ‘rules’ itachi made for him and over comes that fear and fights. She talk no jutsued sasuke lol
And ofc he gets bitten and seeks physical comfort from her. he initiated that contact with her meaning her presence is comforting to him, a big deal in a moment of such intense agony.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then the iconic hug scene, where his survivor guilt is shown in his nightmares and his intense feelings of hating himself for not being able to protect him family causing his curse mark to act up and when he wakes up to see sakura hurt, the mark and by extension sasuke under it’s influence heating him up go out of control. (but even then when she expresses worry over him he takes time out to explain his major stance in the entire story yet again, even if I abandon myself to evil on my path I must obtain power)
‘Sakura, iie! omae o kizutsuke ta no wa doidsu da?’
‘Sakura, tell me! Which of them hurt you?’ chosen in the databook by kishi and readers as one of the best scenes because it shows ‘she is now a person he wants to protect and how angry he would get at himself if he could not do it’
Again quoting the databook, Sakuras heart thinking of sasuke devours the wicked power.
Tumblr media
And even after this is over homeboy watches over her getting her hair cut, is like ?? at Naruto when he asks about her hair instead of her beat up face. After this, they really became much closer and more in sync, even working together and show casing that they can strategize together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
His resolve of avenging his families death doesn’t magically disappear however and he is still focused on getting stronger hence the little conversation they have, where sakura is worried about him in pain and starts crying, sasuke sees this and is disturbed so he yet again explains his stance in the story to her but funnily enough singles her out (ikura omae demo) as a very special person and says he won’t forgive even her if she takes that away from him. Inside the fight he is sustained by his wet dream (joke)  and the cheer he got from the annoying orange and is able to suppress the curse once again thinking about (his crying fetish) her tears.
Tumblr media
And then god damn, they are on a roll here bc the fight with gara happens and sakura jumps in to protect him from a lethal blow and if what happened previously wasn’t enough of an emphasized thing, the love in sakuras eyes #triggers  gara.
And Sasuke gives his little speech telling naruto to save her and essentially that he is about to go off on a suicide mission and knows it’ll probably end here but he is ready to do it because he is not willing to see another precious person to him die right in front of him again. Mind you, this is after he shows again the intensity of his survivor guilt straight up saying the only reason he was ‘allowed to live’ was to carry the moral burden of avenging his clan but at this moment in time the pain of losing someone that precious to him is enough to make him consciously decide he is willing to die and leave all of that behind. This is the biggest difference between this and those scenes in the land of waves arc. Back then, it was show casing his empathy and kindness, my body moves on it’s own and even though I could die and not accomplish my goals which I really want to I cant just let a comrade die in front of me, where as now it’s I know I probably won’t come out of this but then pain of dying and not accomplishing my goals seem less than seeing another person I care so much about die right in front me. Seeing this, naruto realizes the importance of caring and fighting for the people you love and fights gara, teaching him the same values. Important scene overall to the story.
After seeing  naruto go up to par with gara and ‘realizing how helpless’ he was in that fight he was pretty jealous due to feelings of inferiority to naruto, and that jealousy was  partly fueled and thrown in our face twice by seeing sakura smile gently at naruto. Romantic or not, he is jealous of her smiling at naruto, that is undeniable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then itachi happens, and that reawakens his intense resolve. It doesn’t help the fact that orochimaru sought him out while extremely emotionally vulnerable. Ofc his petty ass attitude in the hospital scenes was fueled by his feelings of inferiority thrown in his face by the one person he really did not want that from, the same person who made him feel inferior as a child. And again to add heat to the burn, he remembers the smile and the plate thing happens.I see a lot of anti sasuke people talking about his scene pretending that when i say inferiority complex while talking about sasuke i mean something stemming from lack of acknowledgment from his dad, from being weaker than itachi and not able to protect his family, for having itachi be like i am here for naruto idc about you after everything. Not, oh man naruto seems better than me :/ gotta start shit :/
Tumblr media
Oh right the hug when he wakes up. Again, people claim he was tired and traumatized, which he was, But the look he gave her for caring about him so much was very tender and it did not go unnoticed to nardo.
Tumblr media
He ofc gets manipulated by the sound 4 and we are shown how emotionally attached he is to team 7
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the confession scene happens where sakura just desperately gives him promise after promise of making him happy and it isn’t just because she wants him there but also she doesn’t want to see her loved one torment and hurt himself over revenge, but it is more than revenge to sasuke it’s a moral burden, (he has a right to want to avenge his family from their murderer from a moral stand point) and that is what he kept trying to communicate to both her and kakashi. He doesn’t allow her to come because just as we saw with team taka, he isn’t willing to let anyone shoulder what he believes to be his personal pain and burden, specially not someone so special. And when she cries over him leaving and the fact that she believed for a second that he doesn’t care and forgot all of their meaningful interactions he turns around and says annoying, but with a smile this time.
Tumblr media
That thank you meant a lot, man. It was not just a thank you for saying I love you.
Sasuke fights naruto to obtain the mangekyo by killing his best friend but then realizes last moment that he being manipulated by his brother and snaps out of it, refusing to kill such a close person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sasuke’s encounter with team 7 early part was pretty significant in developing naruto and sakuras friendship as 2 comrades who share the pain of their dear friend gone from their lives, but it also explains sasukes psychological point of view. After having his resolved awakened to a point of obsession again and realizing that there was a time in his life where he cared about other people to the point of giving up that goal, he decides to cut off his bonds with them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ‘attack’ on naruto was again for the mangekyo, and sakuras ass would have come out unscathed if she didn’t go all ‘gotta stop this hoe he out here hurting my pals’  but he was hurting her pals and stabbing people ofc she wouldn’t be like yas baby go. He pulls out his sword in defense but yamato ends up getting stabbed, my poor wood boy.
Tumblr media
Sasuke takes down orochimaru because in  his constructed moral everything that relates to itachi is bad and senseless killing and torturing( at that time) registered in his head as an itachi thing, which only made his already strong moral code tingle with a strong feeling of ‘im going to take you down you sick son of a bitch, and ill make a bible reference while I am at it’
The lil hawk takes flight and assembles Taka, showing again, a strong moral sense when he says he isn’t going to take anyone by force and he even sets orochimarus captives free. Sasuke is shown to care for Takas safety on multiple occasions but it’s the biggest insult his character receives when people look at him with fan goggles to monopolize him as if he is a cold hearted sadist who only cares for a few people when he is a very selfless, empathetic person. On a personal level though, he did not know their last names, nor did he ask about their history as captives (except for jugo..for obv reasons) so I would not exactly call that emotional investment. But I do think something was there, like they were a hella good team in combat. However, they noticed him going ‘dark’ and never tried to help or stop him so I cant call it a friendship, but I can’t deny it was a team.
After the fight with itachi he is again very emotionally vulnerable and obito hops on his dick to manipulate him, and it works significantly well because sasuke ends up seeing the ENTIRE leaf village as responsible for killing his family after they discriminated against them, and while that might be a wrong train of thought since most people in Konoha are innocent (ten tens worst crime is how little screen time that cutie has), in his now much more jaded, cynical mind it makes a whole lot of sense since it now seems like konoha killed them for their personal benefit and are dancing on their uchiha graves by pretending it never happened and that they never placed the burden of an entire world war on his brothers shoulders.  Everyone is guilty. Everyone is laughing at their deaths. I am a little unstable. I am also a victim. Not to say he isn’t held accountable for his actions because he is a victim but a lot of his character arc and decisions make sense and tie in with his suffering …people going ‘bad’ because of their victimhood is not a new concept you see it with bullies all the time and that is why its important to grasp the situation by the balls and end the circumstance that creates such victims. He also awakens his mangekyo sharingan, meaning he is slowly stepping further into the curse of hatred.
They go to retrieve bee and its shown that he has yet to lose all logical moral reasoning because he still cares for takas safety even though he has declared to crush the leaf, meaning he hates only the leaf atm..all of his concentrated itachi hatred redirected. But he falls a little morally when he captures innocent ass bee and attacks the cloud. That shit was uncalled for, but he was trying to further his plans. I mean suna attacked konoha and its all good in the hood so we could chill. But it wasn’t right.
Ofc however during the bee arc sasuke uses his power that is obtainable through an emotionally driven doujutsu by having an image of team 7 on his mind as he was made to remember when he sees people showing genuine care about him. No matter how far he slipped, seven was always there. Right there, in part 2. The only time sasuke remembers team  7 in a positive light (otherwise he just wants to kill naruto because he stands in the way of his plans) includes sakura and kakashi. You cant argue he doesn’t care cause???
Tumblr media
In the 5 kage summit arc a new falling rapidly into the curse of hatred sasuke makes the leap in logic that if his brother who he saw as a good person now, and Konoha which he previously thought to be good could kill on multiple occasions then killing is no longer an off the table option anymore and he warns those samurai before doing the doodly do. He is a bit out of character here, but his change in mind set made him 180. Its an interesting shift in character for a kid whos empathy and moral high ground kept him on the fence of killing in a series where a teacher tells 12 year old kids to come at him with the intent if killing. He seeks out danzo and this is where his motives and pain come into full display  ‘sono migiude teni ireru tameni nanin no uchiha o teni kaketa?’ ‘how many uchihas did you take down in order to get that right arm’
His driving force for his emotions and suffering are lost bonds and a moral burden he still sees himself accountable for.
Ofc this fight features his full descend into the darknes when he stabs Karin and generally looks beyond mentally unstable, this is where his character even though distorted before, goes through a gross distortion where he seems maniacal and just not there. This is bc as an uchiha, the more emotional pain he feels the more hatred he feels ,and the more he uses magic eye level 2.0, the more he loses himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sakura somewhere out there doesn’t know the truth about itachi so sasuke is just acting like a dick wad and attacking innocent villages to her, and to avoid anyone getting hurt, physically or emotionally she burdens herself with killing him in order to save him from going darker. ‘oh but she gave up on him!!111!!!’ like, kakashi did the same thing for obito and at this point her logical order isn’t flawed. Sasuke was by definition an S ranked internationally wanted criminal attacking villages and peace meetings, falling rapidly into a darkness that his past self wouldn’t approve of  and he was getting hunted by every hoe in every country who wanted his ass dead. At least sakura (who again, did not know his reasons and you cant blame her for not knowing) did it to protect the empathetic boy who wouldn’t do something as senseless as attack an innocent man and aid a terrorist organization and to protect naruto emotionally and physically from akatsuki as well as ensure no one gets hurt from him as he is strong. In no way is it her way of being selfish, considering the language she used insinuated she was willing to die right there and then with him. The mission was a complete failure from the start bc hoe can’t kill him and if you truly think she could, I pray for you to find the light.
She shows up ofc and homeboy is suspicious right away, like I know u well enough what u plotting yo?? He knows from the get go shes out here for murder and he goes behind her and almost chidoris her. The factors that go into play here are 1) curse of hatred. 2) she is out for murder, he knows it and turns the table. It’s a low moment for him but that’s the whole purpose behind the scene. The fact that he went behind in the first attack of The Day ™ even though he probably knew he could take her down if he wanted to showed that he still isn’t able to attack face first. That’s not me romanticizing that scene bc ew, but it’s the truth. The look on his face is also not that of the most stable person. Second attack is purely in self defense and he has fallen to the point where he could do it from the front. Naruto shows up and his face shows he knows he done fucked up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Naruto declares that you are my friend ™ (aaah ano hi no yume..) after sasuke yet again shows how far hes fallen due to the curse, pain and obitos brain washing by some good ol’ evil laughter, shouting he will turn peoples laughter into ‘screams and moans’ (how..awful sounding..to have sasuke make you scream and moan..jokejoke) and sasuke is like fuck u shit how dare u CARE about me ? Stop. And again naruto declares he will stop him and help him to which sasuke pulls an I-listen-to-my chemical romance and bring me the horizon- you don’t understand me!! And although affected by naruto still calling him a friend after all of this, he ends up getting also annoyed by Naruto trying to stop him and leaves thinking give me magic eye level 3.0 I want to kill Missy Elliot in her orange jump suit bc she thinks she will stop me by being my friend. How do I feel about what Naruto said to him that day? Personally, I think he missed the moral perspective of sasuke going crazy (he knew the truth) but he was coming from the right place. They all were. They just wanted him to stop suffering, all of them willed to die with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And thus begins their cute chase. Will Naruto fight sasuke first and save him? OR will sasuke kill him first so his ninja jesus light doesn’t stop his plans? Are they going to die together? So much to think about.
Sasuke gets his much deserved confrontation with itachi during the war and this is the healthiest time for them. Itachi no longer sheltered sasuke in a way that was poisonous for the both of them and sasuke asked the questions he deserved answers for. He got them, and an I love you all wrapped with a bow of existential crisis because after the fight with Kabuto, he sees his brother still doing his best for the leaf, still believing kabuto -an evil hoe- could change for the better. And he asks why such a ‘perfect’ person as itachi would still associate with shit like this and itachi is like dude I think you missed the part where I killed your family, tortured and manipulated you. I am not perfect, and neither is the dark world we live in but let me tell you some solid advice  that correlates with the star hax of the arc, the beautiful jutsu that makes no sense : Izanami. The past may be shitty, and we could either run around in an infinite loop suffering because of it, or we could chose to break free, accept what happened and change the future instead of doting on the past. Sasuke is like k cool man I get u but what next? ur jesus talk no jutsu ability is impressive but now I am questioning everything. What do I change? What is right and wrong? What is a village? What is a shinobi? I may not know now, but when I become supreme lord of everything, ill know then haha.
To answer these questions he goes to the One Who Knoweth All, the master of snakes-voldermort with a nose, and revives the kage who basically tell him yeah dude listen our history was fucked, apparently now is fucked, conflict always arises in every age and time its like madara said- you can never look into someones gut.But like maybe the new young generation can deal with it?? deal with ur own fucked up economy, suzan. He also finds out more about why the uchiha were so feared (madara, sharingan, tobirama the little shit, a sticky messy situation kishimoto why are u like this)and Donald trump (tobirama) tells him ur bad bc u love too much tf is wrong with u and sasuke was like fix ur fucking face tattoo u discriminatory bitch. Sasuke comes to the conclusion that he is now a renewed konoha fanboy ‘I wont let this village or my brother go to waste!11!’ because he realizes yeah man history is fucked and I want to change that so no other kid ends up in a situation like mine, full of pain, anger and blind hate.
Shows up on the battlefield, (Sakura, ka? ) and engages in some eye sex with sakura while ignoring others and declares yoyo idc bout what u think of me losers, imma be president. And naruto was like um imma let u finish but im gonna be the greatest hokage of ALL TIME (about that…anyways) . and ensues some team 7 and some naruto and sasuke being the iconic duo they are. It is important remember however, sasuke was at the moment in process of truly cutting all bonds, ensuring he is hated and fully immersing himself into the shadows. Although he is the first to react when sakura is attacked, warns her and kakashi multiple times so they don’t get hurt, saves them from infinite tsukiyomi and double checks on them in the Kaguya dimension, he pretends that like uh idc whatever I don’t care u guys cant even do much, I saved naruto because without him the world would end and u were just there so I saved you
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to which naruto calls bullshit and sasuke is like ‘ur ruining my reputation as a heartless bitch’ ah brings back memories..of sasuke pretending to be a heartless bitch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But like, he could not let her hit the floor so I am sure her hitting lava was a no-no. That moment happens, it was nice. Thank u, for that, kishimoto. And he even says ‘okagede todoita’ ‘thanks to you, I reached’ , nice moment.
Tumblr media
After kaguya is over, they even exchange smiles. But nah, sakura, still in tune with sasuke as ever was right not to trust him 100% bc he pulls a IM GOING TO BE SUPREME WORLD LEADER, START A REVOLUTION, KILL THE 5 KAGES AND CAST THE WORLD INTO A NEW FUTURE. I fully support sasuke wanting to change the world that caused people like him, itachi, naruto, nagato, madara, obito, neji etc etc so much pain. I fully support revolution. I don’t want him to kill the 5 kages, but they really aren’t innocent so I understand where he is coming from. Him wanting to put the entire weight of hatred on himself is pretty selfless. It pains me (and naruto) seeing him say he is alone and willing and ready to bear hatred. All of that is valid but see :
dictator
noun
1.    a ruler with total power over a country, typically one who has obtained control by force.
Synonyms:
Autocrat, monocrat, absolute ruler
How a dictatorship works : Dictatorship is a form of government  where a country or a group of countries is ruled by one person or political entity, and exercised through various mechanisms to ensure that the entity’s power remains strong
A dictatorship is a type of Authoritarianism, in which politicians regulate nearly every aspect of the public and private behavior of citizens. Dictatorship and totalitarianism societies generally employ political propaganda to decrease the influence of proponents of alternative governing systems.
Examples of dictators :
·         Adolf Hitler ,dictator of Germany from 1933 to 1945, and Benito Mussolini ,dictator of Italy from 1922 to 1943.
·         Julius Caesar, dictator of Rome.
·         Joseph Stalin, dictator of the Soviet Union from 1929 to 1953.
Sasukes plans :
Tumblr media
So, while I do support him wanting change, I don’t think his method was right. Not for the world and not for him and the only person who could communicate that to a boy who is at his core is just lonely, is a boy who was equally lonely but learned the value of comradeship, unity and love. He saw it’s ability to bring about great, good change and he believed he wanted that to continue and not sasukes self destructive autocratic plans.
Anyways, sakura begs him not to slip any further, says that she knows he is in pain but she doesn’t want him suffering any longer but she cant fight him physically like naruto, neither can she convince him to stay even though she loves him so much, however she tries one last time again, hoping maybe his hoe ass will agree that unity is better than separation and sasuke is affected as hell. He shakes, showing once again he is the boy who cares about the people he loves too much.
Gave her a look that would have looked like this without the rinnegan, because he does not want to be alone and anyone who says that is a jackass
Tumblr media
She is an annoyance because for a faltering second, she can still after all this time, in part 2 weaken his resolve.
Tumblr media
He shows her the genjutsu of him killing her to seal the deal and ensure she hates him, but I doubt he would have ever been able to physically harm her after his head cleared up a bit. A bit.
Kakashi scolds him saying she doesn’t deserve this when all she did was try to help you. literal Japanese translation, Sasuke says ‘ are you suggesting I enjoy ‘renai’’ quite literally ‘romantic love’ in Japanese. He acknowledged the romantic context of their relationship himself. Then he goes on, and I translate literally again ‘I have no reason to love her and she has no reason to love me’, and kakashi calls bullshit by basically stating sasuke, love is not something you have to look for a reason for. The thing you do need excuses and reasons to fill your life with though, is hatred. She is not trying to make you ‘her thing’, she wants to help you no matter how much bad you’ve done her because she loves you so much it makes her suffer. AND IMMEDIATELY he flashes back to the purest love he knows, the love that he never sat down and tried to reason with, the love that caused him suffering. His love for his family. ‘perhaps those are ties to a failed past’..and goes on to kill Naruto bc he is the last friend who will stand in his way.
Hagoromo basically confirms ss will happen when it shots to sakuras face saying ‘love turned to hate’ then kakashi asks ‘so like sasuke is a lost cause?’ hagoromo says ‘not at all I hope naruto and sasuke break the cycle of hate’ then it pans to sasuke saying ‘I hope  hate turns to love’ and since this is a shonen, ofc it did.
Naruto and sasukes fight communicates all of their feelings and experiences and no matter how stubbornly sasuke insists on being alone, naruto is like no bitch I know what that’s like and I refuse to let my brother (from another mother) go through that eternally. And boom bada bim, it took an arm but he got free from the curse of hatred, and they broke the cycle. Sasuke then goes on to say how he always admired naruto to a point where it gave him an inferiority complex, just like itachi. He had a strong will and a power source unknown to sasuke. But one thing he finally fucking learned, is wait yeah man when we were on the same time and you became my comrade I felt your pain too. I saw you guys as my family- fuck right shit the sharing of pain and enduring it together until it comes to pass. That is what I learned from team 7, that is where your source of power comes from and you know what I accept that you learned it a lot earlier than I did. It’s my loss. Naruto is like if ur hoe ass don’t stop with this emo shit ill beat u up again bc YOURE MY FRIEND AAAH and sasuke finally god damn gets what naruto meant by that and the realization that the love he starved for all his life was right there waiting for him to accept it was so earth shattering to him that he cried. Blood connected, pain shared, bond reformed and sasuke wanted to start over. Which is why when he realizes what was meant by sakura loves you so much that seeing you suffer makes her suffer was she loves you unconditionally he fucking asked for that beautiful bond again. After all this mess, there is a reason he apologized only to her. She couldn’t do much for him because she isn’t as strong as he is, but her love was pure and selfless and all she ever wanted for him was happiness and he apologizes for not getting that earlier, for his mistreatment in the war, for the land of iron, for ‘everything up until now’.
We don’t know what happened in the blank period, but all we know is they spent some time together. And he is about to go on a redemption journey, again his own moral
burden but this time it’s to start fresh and check some kaguya traces that worry him. Sakura is all like k but can I come, and he tells her frankly girl no ur too pure for what I did, lemme deal with this first. ‘Mata condo na’ is different from itachis ‘mata condo da’, theyre both delaying something, but the difference with na is that is is definite promise of something inevitable. The forehead poke means the world to sasuke, both the negatives and the positives that came with it and he let it’s legacy carry on but in a positive light. This is a promise of a better tomorrow together, where I am ready and think I am in a position where I completely understand the world without being manipulated or full of hate.(he was so easily manipulated when because he was always kept away from the truth so he had no footing to base thing off) that happens, I’ll be back for you, and that is inevitable. I want this, but on amicable, better terms. And fuck, that happens. Sasuke learned the answer to his question by the end of the series and the final blow of logic was thanks to naruto- a ninja is one who endures until things come to pass. The sharing of pain can be applied to greater things.
Tumblr media
He would have to endure a little longer before his redemption comes to pass.By shinden sasuke walks around the best human being, helping people, doing a talk no jutsu, worrying about Konoha but he isn’t sure if he shows up there it would be completely safe from people after him or if everyone is ready to welcome him back and at the end of the novel he receives a letter from naruto that’s like sup yo come back homie I miss ur emo ass also sakura was like ooh hes protecting the village from the outside like a police officer!!11! And sasuke flashes back to his dreams when he was younger and says ‘I guess I should head home’, basically this bitch came back for sakura, and sakuras hiden concludes with him showing up home after he took down the people on the outside of root to come save her (lol but his wife is not a weak woman) and seeing her saying ‘I am home, Sakura.’ ‘Welcome home, Sasuke-kun.’
They travel together probably fucking under stars and shit, got married, had a baby and raised her until Naruto became hokage and sasuke took up a mission only he could do bc he has rinnegan. Obviously this fucking hurt him and he was miserable about it considering he finally gets a family and hes walking his baby girl with his wife one day and the next fate is like ok but if the world ends in 2 minutes and they both like die along with the rest of planet earth haha sasuke I like to shit on ur life. But as he and sakura said it he took up the mission for the future to remain bright and because sakura and sarada are very precious to him. Sakura wasn’t allowed to give out any potentially dangerous information as this mission was top secret so she would avoid questions but still gave her daughter the basic run down ‘vv important he loves u k that’s all I can say’ and she was in general a great mother, shown to be caring, reveal what she could and take care of her sick baby. Sasukes mistake was even though he was doing it for his family, he failed to realize that his daughter still wanted him there. That is why he apologized and told sakura that this mess is not on her.The baby mama drama happens and sakura is like leave it to the child of the man who wanted to be ninja hitler to think she has a different mom bc she wears glasses and jump to 30 conclusions about her dad and I’s relationship, which I’d like to mention gaiden has no ss marriage issues. Sakura and Sasukes bond lives, their feelings are connected, their thoughts and feelings reach each other, they both greatly love and respect each other.. gaiden was about saradas adventure in whys my dad such a jerk and holy shit is this woman my mom land. As it goes on she sees her parents interact, sees the love and respect, the depth of the bond between them and is shown smiling, touched by that. She gets her verification of love and the importance of the mission and why it was done by the end of gaiden, and she even gets a forehead poke (try and make it negative but it gave her tears of joy) and a hug. + a cute ass family photo that she stares at and thinks how her family shares a true link of love. He tries his best to spend time with his family despite such an important mission waiting for him and he promises more if he can. I will defend papa-suke until I fuckin die bc from what we are shown he is a deeply caring dad who actually makes sure his child is happy. And if you are pressed about him leaving without kissing her sakura herself says an expression that means he Is teasing me by making me wait, and like sasuke is a reserved ass boy who grew up very traditionally Japanese, he isn’t about to make out with her on public. He does leave however with a smirk on his face (lil shit is happy he saw his wife and teased her) and a bento (not just a boxed lunch..its made with love by someone very special to you –sarada my bb) in his hand. By boruto he comes in time for the chuunin exams and the light novel literally says sakura has been gleaming and glossing since he came back, a Japanese expression for having lots of sex so the wait was worth it. Boruto defeats Momoshiki in 2 minutes like the op bitch he is and hallelujah sasuke is back with his family and everyone is smiling and happy and loved up. Sasuke looks over his child and student with a gentle smile that he only shows sakura (light novel written by kishi), they stand with each other just watching over their baby girl how cute.
Tumblr media
Sasukes character is complex but if you sit down and try to understand him before running your mouth, he is easy to understand. Kishimoto does not owe you shit, he worked hard, he put his work forward and that is it. criticize his work or the dude but don’t pretend to understand a character you misinterpreted better than the author. Sakura was always relevant. This is a little SS input into the character of sasuke. If you need anything else i own most of the series (even tho i got lazy to keep taking pictures lol) and i am pretty fluent in japanese, so come to me if you need anything else. Bye.

Why I think Sakura is a Feminist Character
The thing about Sakura is that the style Kishimoto wrote her character in subverted the heroine trope, which is especially prevalent in action genre media. We all know that superhero/secret agent/sci-fi/fantasy action movie, book, or comic. It’s the typical overcoming the monster, quest, or voyage and return story plots. The male protagonist is your average guy, nothing special - until he meets super hot, sexy mysterious woman who saves his ass from this newly discovered evil the protagonist encounters. She is so strong, smart, witty, etc. She is a combat master in judo, has great aim with her weapons, and/or supernatural powers that dazzles our hero. He eventually enlists in the Forces of Good to battle the evil because the World as We Know It will be destroyed. He trains under the heroine. He slowly becomes stronger than our heroine after only a faction of the time the heroine has trained for. She falls in love with our hero and suddenly is now a damsel in distress.
THEME: Love is our heroine’s downfall. She becomes weaker because of it.
Then there’s the other kind of heroine - the teen girl in the young adult sci-fi/fantasy genre. She, like our male hero, discovers an evil foe beyond the likes of anything she could ever have imagined. The Forces of Good realize that she has innate abilities that could help defeat their enemy and save the world. She meets Tall, Dark, Hot, Mysterious, and Brooding - her love interest. Her abilities wax and wane in relation to his. Either she is weaker than him or equally strong. He loves her more than the sun, moon, and stars, though at first he resists for some idiotic reason. She is constantly thinking about him. Her reason for fighting is because of the Big Picture or for some touching, profound notion or memory - or because, well, she just has to. A/N: This is a relatively common trope for YA fiction, particularly apocalyptic and/or oppressive government in theme.
THEME: Love ties into our heroine’s development maturity-wise, but it doesn’t give her her power. She does not fight for the sake of love, but it overshadows her potential.
What Kishimoto does is characterize Sakura in such a way that her love for her companions is her source of strength, much like Naruto. Her love for Sasuke is a catalyst for her development. It’s her constant reminder of WHY she needs to be stronger - so she and Naruto can bring him back. Together. She actively works on becoming level with her comrades. She despises the thought of losing easily. She curses at her shortcomings. And unlike the action movie heroine, she isn’t objectified or there for sexual appeal.
In contrast to many young adult novel heroines, she embraces her femininity. She likes the color pink, happily takes care of her body and grooms it within reason, enjoys flowers, and celebrates her body with flattering clothes. Her profession is in the medical field, yet this isn’t necessarily feminine. Her proficiency/genius in the field doesn’t designate her solely as caretaker, though this is still an aspect of her character that is just as important. Her monstrous brute strength, which is stereotypically a masculine trait prided by male heroes, balances and even adds an element of diversity to her. (She’s got brains and brawn). Her quick temper, also a cliche masculine trait, is a contrast to her compassionate nature. Her combat clothes are practical and well-suited to her fighting style and medical profession. Her hair is kept short for easy maintenance, as well as mobility and evasion. She is quick, nimble, physically strong, intelligent, temperamental, caring, logical, impulsive, and most of all, human.
Kishimoto has described Sakura as probably the most human character in the series for a reason. Her actions and thoughts are sometimes irrational, but have good intent. Her personality traits described above are on opposite sides of the spectrum - because her character is exceptionally dynamic. Her love for Sasuke may be well a large motivational factor in her training and growth, but this is eclipsed by her own reasons - since from the beginning of the academy days, she’s wanted to be her own person. In other words, Sasuke doesn’t make Sakura stronger. He rather inspires her. Perhaps her love for him is irrational, but since when is this a factor in love? Kakashi states that we don’t need a reason to love. She explicitly thinks solely about Sasuke himself and her love for him maybe somewhere above 10 times total in a 700 chapter manga, and even that might be pushing it. Most of these moments largely consist of her missing him as a person and worrying for his well-being and especially his happiness. This is almost exactly Naruto’s concerns in regards to Sasuke, but unlike Sakura, these thoughts are a prominent theme of the manga - they are constantly mentioned with flashbacks to boot. Both Sakura and Naruto wanted to save Sasuke by killing and dying with him.
Sakura knows that the likelihood of Sasuke reciprocating romantic feelings is dismal at best or so she believes. She’s constantly reminding herself of this, especially in part 2, i.e. her confrontation with Sasuke with the intent to kill him, and her second confession to him in an attempt to stop him from fighting Naruto. During the battle against Madara, Sakura charges forward as a decoy and is stopped by Madara’s invisible clone and effectively skewered by the real Madara’s sword. Afterwards, as she is held by Naruto, she glances at Sasuke, who looks unaffected as usual. She believes he doesn’t care about her at all, which would be painful considering just how much she cares for him, and this speaking not strictly romantically, but as a person, an old comrade, or equal. In effect, Sakura believes Sasuke looks down on her, is uninterested in her well-being, and holds no respect for her. She is convincing herself of this because there are no obvious signs that he even feels a fraction of what she feels.
I won’t go in depth here about this, but there are many very good comprehensive analyses of Sasuke’s body language, words, and actions that actually make sense and ultimately confirm that he cared deeply for Sakura. Sasuke was never a man of many words or a man of outspoken physical affection either. It would only make sense that his reactions were just as subtle as the rest of him is. It would also actually discredit Sakura as a character in such analysis in regards to romantic dynamics. If Sasuke were the doting boyfriend seen in most of today’s YA books, not only would it be out of character, but Sasuke would be much more heavily involved in her life - readers would see Sasuke and Sakura, not just Sakura, or just Sasuke even, for that matter. Their relationship would not be as complex as we’ve seen in Gaiden. Because of the lack of understanding and miscommunication seen in part 1 and 2, they must learn to navigate and grow in the relationship not just as partners, but also as people. In essence, perhaps a more realistic and healthier reflection on relationships.
Lastly, but most definitely not least, Sakura raises her daughter alone without resentment for Sasuke, but rather thinks only of his love for his family, Sakura and Sarada, and Sakura and Sarada’s love for him. She misses him and regrets his absence with a quiet longing and that he’s the only one who could do the mission. There is no bitterness, but a love waiting to welcome him home. First, the rarity of a powerful, main couple having a girl for their first and only child is a large contrast to the vast majority of classic literature/stereotypes. In these cases, an infamous man almost always breeds an even stronger son, i.e. Dragon Ball Z, Zeus and Heracles, Prison Break, Odin and Thor (from ancient Norse paganism), etc. Female protagonists tend to have sons, most likely because the family name will continue to the next generation or the bias for men as heroes, i.e. Jane Eyre, Bleach, Naruto (Hinata gives birth to Boruto as the oldest child and only son), Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. Additionally, children of whichever gender will tend to carry on their father’s legacy, such as Hunger Games, Lion King, Superman, Raven (from Teen Titans), etc. However, Sarada is born of Sakura and Sasuke as their first and only daughter. While she inherits her father’s Sharingan, her true display of strength in the end against the army of Shins in Gaiden is the inheritance of her mother - precise chakra control in the manifestation of brute strength, Sakura’s signature style. The story itself left no doubt that she was an Uchiha and would activate the Sharingan. The true question was of Sarada learning the love/power of her mother and using it in a bout of desperation - another typical theme for heroes unlocking their powers/legacies inherited from their fathers.
To conclude -
THEME: Love is the heroine’s strength and weakness. It enables and discourages her in her actions and motivation. Her determination and loyalty stems from it. She becomes more three-dimensional because of it and more relatable as a character.

WHY NARUSAKU IS SHIT
1. Naruto's feelings stayed on crush level. -HELLO. Were Naruto's feelings for Sakura EVER developed as much as Sakura's feelings for Sasuke or Hinata's for Naruto? Nope. In fact, in Databook 2, in Naruto's profile, it said NOTHING about his crush on Sakura. [While Sakura and Hinata's pages were filled with their feelings for Sasuke/Naruto] And about Databook 2, Naruto is listed as a companion [normally, companion is defined as a close friend] that Sakura could relay on. Not a lover. It's stated she's in love with Sasuke. Wait. Screw that. It said that she "really really really really really really really likes him" *rolls eyes* Means the same thing, especially when the scene was ORIGINALLY translated as "love" 2. Naruto knows his place. -He accepted Sakura's feelings for Sasuke. Twice. Hospital scene, and promise of a lifetime. He's not going to play "hero" to "win" Sakura. No that doesn't mean he doesn't still like her, but that does show that he is not selfish and he was willing to step aside for her happiness. Devotion to her happiness? Maybe. But that just hurts NaruSaku happening romantically, as Sakura's happiness is Sasuke returning. Promise of a lifetime. Sakura's lifelong wish: Sasuke. Face it, it's obvious Sasuke will return. Speaking of Sasuke... 3. He's NOT going away. -I don't care how much you hate him. I don't give a rats ass. Naruto and Sakura LOVE him. Without Sasuke, Team 7 is NOT Team 7. They WEREN'T going to give up on Sasuke or at all! 4. Why you shouldn't rule out SasuSaku and NaruHina. Really. -So. What were the major hetero pairings introduced in part 1 with development? Hm... SasuSaku and NaruHina. DUDE. Hinata's feelings are still present post time. Kishi has not dropped them. [Unlike Lee and Ino] Lee's somewhat turned into a deep devotion to protect Sakura whenever, and Ino went from Sasuke to Sai post time. Shallow.] Hinata's romantic feelings for Naruto are there. Period. That was actually confirmed way back in Databook 1. And since Kishimoto kept her feelings post time, why won't they be used? Well, they will be resolved in someway. If not, that's bad story telling on Kishi's part to not wrap up something he started. Then again, in an interview he said that he knows the ending but there were still so many things that needed to be resolved before reaching that point. BOTH Hinata and Sasuke came back into the picture. Sasuke being redeemed.Hinata confessing her feelings to Naruto. And also, Hinata will appear when she is needed. If you look at Team 7 in Part 1, you will see that Naruto and Sakura had the weakest bond. [SasuNaru and SasuSaku were way stronger.] Thus, they are getting screen time now to make up for that. Oh yeah… Development doesn't equal screen time. Naruto and Sakura are the main characters. They are working together to achieve their common goal: Sasuke. Not get in each others pants. Someone once stated something similar to this: If I was a NaruSaku fan, I would be a little annoyed that I only got "evidence" when Sasuke and Hinata WEREN'T there. SasuSaku and NaruHina hints and development were in Part 1 while all the characters were present. Yet, when Hinata and Sasuke are out of the picture, NaruSaku starts gaining in discussions. That would annoy me if I was a NaruSaku fan. Sure, NaruSaku had some development in part 1, but it wasn't really romantic. By the end of Part 1, it is CLEAR that Sakura was in love with Sasuke. That's it. End. Can't change it. 5. There is no proof Sakura prefers Naruto over Sasuke romantically. -Just as the title says. People argue that Sakura no longer loves Sasuke? Well, despite the fact that they can't prove that [because Sakura isn't a fangirl anymore, she doesn't have to scream out "I LOVE SASUKE-KUN!" every 5 seconds], they also can't prove she prefers Naruto over Sasuke romantically. Seriously, even though Sasuke isn't there at the moment, that doesn't mean Sakura's feelings for him are gone or weakened. She's trying to get him back. 6. Naruto asking Sakura on dates is for comedy. -Old habits die hard. Just like Hinata fainting, Naruto asking Sakura out is for comic relief. Especially since he gets shot down everytime. One time, she accepted, but only if he paid. Guess what? He had an empty wallet. Oh noes. D: Well forget that! 7. Main Guy/Main Girl -Boring, predictable, and overdone. This is another reason why I believe NaruSaku didn't become canon. People complain about NaruHina and SasuSaku being cliché' - "girl crushes on guy and guy falls for her11!!11" YET, the main guy/main girl has been SO outplayed it's not even funny. Hell, they have a freaking "shounen law." *yeah right* Even so, the series isn't following the "typical shounen romance" law where the main guy always gets what he wants. If it was, Sakura and Naruto would have liked each other from the beginning, and would have hid their feelings; covering them up with arguments. NOT Sakura chasing Sasuke and literally hating Naruto. 8. Naruto doesn't always have to "love" Sakura. -The promise of a lifetime created an opening in Naruto's heart for him to love someone OTHER THAN Sakura -Naruto can fall for Hinata for the same reason he liked Sakura: Desire for acknowledgement. -Naruto's nindou is not "never give up" - it's actually "I never take back my words! That's my way of the ninja!" Where is 'giving up'? Did Naruto ever once say "I love you" to Sakura? Nope. Is his goal to be with Sakura? Nope. It's to become Hokage, and now, to protect all his important people. Not just Sakura. And being Hokage, you would protect the entire village. 9. Lying just doesn't work. Even if it's for a "good" cause. -No trust? They keep things from each other. Sakura lied to Naruto about Sasuke [cursed seal] in the beginning, and then she lied to him about him hurting her. [She said she fell or something… I can't remember exactly] Even though she didn't want to hurt him, that was a serious thing to lie about. Sakura also lied, when she told Naruto she "loved him" just so she could almost get killed by Sasuke. Can't have that in a relationship. Naruto also hides his true pain from Sakura as well. He tries to act strong in front of her, when deep down he's bleeding. Only once he broke. [As far back as I can remember at least] And that was when they failed to bring Sasuke back. Note: Hinata was the first one he openly dropped his front to. By that, I mean admitting he wasn't that strong and how he always put on an act. It wasn't Team 7, or Iruka he admitted this to first. It was Hinata. 10. Why the fandom really doesn't help. This one bothers me. Now, I have met some very nice NaruSaku fans. I even made many NaruSaku FRIENDS. But they do not make up for the idiots in that fandom. [Of course, every fandom has idiots] What I gathered for the most part... people supporting NaruSaku because they: -Hate Sasuke -Hate Hinata -Hate both Sasuke and Hinata -Hate Sasuke and/or Hinata thus hating NaruHina and SasuSaku so they go for NaruSaku -Feel bad for Naruto -Feel bad for Naruto and support NaruSaku because they could relate to him -Like Main guy/Main girl Of course, those are only the general reasons or reasons that stand out. There are probably more. Some people might find NaruSaku to be a "healthy" [lmao] relationship. Some might find it to have no holes or think it would be the most successful. Fine. But it's still very rare to find a NaruSaku fan that likes Sasuke or Hinata or both. What else irks me: a) How some of them claim they are canon. Er… newsflash: You are far from canon. Have you forgotten Sasuke and Hinata? :/ b) "Naruto's feelings for Sakura were real! Sakura and Hinata's feelings for Sasuke/Naruto were no more than childish crushes! " Double standards are lovely, no? Besides Hinata's character and development being BASED on Naruto's influence, it's evident in the manga how deep her feelings for Naruto run. I won't even get started on Sakura. Kishi developed her feelings throughout the entire part 1. She was willing to betray her entire village just to be with Sasuke. That's not just a childish crush. Someone also once pointed out that Sakura stated "I have family, I have friends, but if you're gone… To me, it's like being alone!" - Which is true. Basically, if Sasuke leaves, even with all the friends [that includes Naruto] and family she has, she would still be lonely. She doesn't have to express it. It's there and inside her. c) "Sakura, in reality you…." -Yamato has no idea of what Team 7's past is. -Yamato does not know Sakura better than she knows herself. -Sakura did not blush. She looked at him like "WTF are you talking about?" -The sentence wasn't completed. Kishi is playing. It's his little habit. -Sakura vowed to save both her team mates. She failed at helping Naruto. [Getting whacked by the KN4 in 296] Therefore, she was upset and started rambling about how she's always so useless, and blahblahblah. She still has the past in her head, back when she really WAS useless. Yamato tries to comfort her, stating that it didn't matter what she does for Naruto. All that mattered was that she cared. Now, that doesn't mean romantically either. What do you expect Yamato to say? "You're right, Sakura! You can't help Naruto! You're useless and you suck!" No. In sum: I don't support NaruSaku because I feel: -It would change Team 7 dynamics. -IT'S NOT CANON -The fandom. -I prefer a different pairing -I prefer them to stay friends. -I think it would be a great thing for Naruto to discover there was someone who was always there and someone who liked him for who he was all along, rather than him "winning" the girl he wanted (ie, Hinata). @winter-serenade @narusakufactory
