i Am really a sucker for nonhuman characters trying to grasp the human existence, on any level. observe it. pick it apart. twist it. find the parts they can understand and the ones they just can’t because it’s not in their nature. maybe they try, though. to get it. for whatever reason. maybe they want to make it more like them. something more monstrous. divine. bloody. they leave handprints on humanity, but humanity leaves handprints on them. maybe even teeth/claw marks. bruises. scars. perhaps humanity twists them. something shifts. because when you open the door to step out, that presents the perfect opportunity for things to step in
