I saw people on twitter talk about how Jack Black and Neil Gaiman are 'good Jews' because they are not 'evil Zionists'. The reason given? They are for a two state solution.
And I don't know how to tell this to none Jewish people kindly but uh.................... that. That's Zionism?
Believing in Palestinians right to have their own State, self determination and the right for a safe home, for education, for a life free of Hamas and Terror in a Two State Deal is Zionism because the other state in this deal???? Is still Israel. it is still a Jewish state. It is still believing in our rights to return and stay in our ancestral homeland.
Being for a two state Solution, for peace and for working together can and is part of being a Zionist !! And also you don't get to call people good or bad Jews that is antisemitic as fuck.

Non-Jews feel free to reblog this one.
To the Left: Hereā€™s the deal. So many leftists are asking ā€œhow can you stand with Zionismā€ or insert what amounts to (false) accusations of horrific things. Hereā€™s how, this is the reason:
We agree on so many things, and Jews have overwhelmingly been a part of the Left Bloc for a long time. We agree on almost everything with regards to current events. None of you can convince me that Iā€™m evil for the differences we now have. Killing innocent people, killing children is wrong. Thatā€™s it, there are no buts. We agree.
Where we do not agree is how the Left has failed to police antisemitism - Jew Hate - in its ranks. Crazy stuff. Medieval stuff. The Blood Libel. Old conspiracies that have gotten Jews killed for over a thousand years. And we see this (we see it all over the place. Weā€™ve been trained by centuries of violence to guard against it.)
Now you want us to bloc up with you, when Jew Hate in your ranks isnā€™t a deal breaker. You hold up tokenized Jews and say ā€œwell this person doesnā€™t have a problem with itā€
Being a ā€œGood Jewā„¢ļøā€ wonā€™t save us. Siding against our community wonā€™t save us. Standing against our community wonā€™t save us. We know in our blood that pushing other Jews towards destruction wonā€™t save us. It never has.
The Left has wrapped itself in language that drips with poison - poison meant for us. We recognize it. We know it. And we canā€™t stand in a Bloc of people that think thatā€™s the cost of business. The Left has lost me. Iā€™ve called myself a Leftist for more than a decade. Canā€™t do it now.
ā€œWhat about Right Wing Jew Hate?ā€
What about it? Jews recognize that the enemy of their enemy is also often their enemy. You donā€™t get a friend card for saying a bunch of the same repulsive things as they.
I would rather be sure in my heart that Iā€™m standing for the same values, and the people at my shoulders donā€™t mean to put a literal dagger in my back. And I mean literal as Jews are attacked in our tiny communities thousands of miles from the thing weā€™re all pissed about.

on october 6 i was hanging out with my friend.
He lives in sdreot all the time but i went to my moms house up north for the summer.
I got back early beacuse ever since i moved to sderot i loved it, wanted to see my friends go to our little shitty pub where they know me, get started with uni again, even manged to get a job at the college!
We were having some beers playing video games and decided, that until school starts, we'll do that every night, so we wont be alone till everyone comes back.
We will wait for the time to pass together and gain more and more company as pepole returend to the south.
Being tired, drunk, happy, and a studant, i left all the dishes in the sink and the living room in a mess. Ill do it in the morning i thought.
The cake i brought for when my mom came to visit my house still on the table and a new packed of black coffe lays half open on the counter.
Excited, happy and Waiting for the year to start, i went to bed.
Im still waiting for tommorw.

One hundred and one days ago my friends and I were normal teenagers. It was sunny even for an October, I had just gotten coffee with an old friend, I was scrolling through some silly article I found, speedwalking the way home so I could make it in time to help prepare for the holiday dinner. All of us seniors were warily anticipating the endless weeks until the next break, mentally preparing to study our asses off for the rapidly approaching finals. I was finally working up the nerve to ask this one guy out, I was vaguely planning to see a friend who was home from the army during the week, and I was due to start driving lessons as soon as I called the teacher up.
And then everything changed the next day, just like that.
In these past one hundred days every Jewish person and every Israeli has had their world turned upside down. There is not a SINGLE family left untouched somehow. Cousins, friends, teachers, we all know someone whose life is never going to look the same.
We'e seen the liveliest, wisest, funniest people we know walk around with hollow expressions. We've seen the strongest, most sarcastic and stoic people we know break down in tears midsentence. People we look up to are as broken as we are.
There isn't really anything to say. Our words echo in the silence. People deny us the right to grieve and to defend ourselves, everywhere, not just in Israel.
And we're not the only ones suffering. The people in Gaza are going through an indescribable hell, which their downright evil leaders have brought upon them. It's terrible.
War is heartbreaking.
Be empathetic. Be kind. Give someone a hug. Learn something new. Do something good.

Iā€™ve started following a lot of Ukrainian and pro-Ukrainian accounts lately, and I am so glad that I have. Antisemitism has been my main focus, for obvious reasons, but man. The Ukrainians are absolutely fucked right now and they need our support.
Iā€™m still looking into good places to donate to and other tangible ways to help, but from my own personal experience as a Jew dealing with the current massive wave of antisemitism, simply listening to them and showing solidarity would probably go a long way, too.
Anyway šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡¦ šŸ¤ āœ”ļø

Punch a Nazi!
Wait no, not them, they're not Nazis
Yes, I know they wave swastikas... and they talk about how great Hitler was... and they want to kill Jews
Okay, and yes, literal Nazis support them, and the KKK does too
But it's not like they want an ethnostate
Yes, I know the literal translation is "From Water to Water, Palestine Will Be Arab"
But Jews are the real Nazis
Wait, no, I mean Zionists. Zionists are Nazis
Zionists and Jews are not connected AT ALL... I mean I know Jews call themselves the people of Israel... and I know the Nazis call them that too... and I know the people who are totally not-Nazis say that too
Punch a Jew! No, wait, I mean a Zionists!
Zionists are Nazis, so punch a Zionist!
But I'm not telling you to attack Jews, I'm not antisemitic

hot take: in order to criticize the Israeli government, you need to know more than a Google searchā€™s worth about the Israeli government
here are some examples
criticism: Benjamin Netanyahu is a dangerous, ineffective leader that must be removed from power and the Likud party does not have anyoneā€™s interests in mind but their own. Compulsive conscription manipulates the valid fears of Jewish Israelis & diaspora Jews (lone soldiers) in order to make the actions of the military seem permissible no matter the circumstance.
antisemitism: Israel is a genocidal settler state that needs to be eradicated and no one on Israeli soil should be treated as a civilian because all of them are settlers
see the difference?

Regardless of why you hate "Zionists"
Whether it be our nationality
Whether it be our religion
Whether it be our ethnicity
Whether it be our refusal to lay down and die
You still unconditionally hate a huge group of people that are characterized by the qualities above.
None of those aspects of a person's values or identity make it justifiable to hate them.
Hate is not justifiable.
It doesn't matter if you consider yourself an antisemite or antizionist, even though antizionism is antisemitism, you're still publicly and aggressively commiting acts of hate against a large group of people.
So maybe being an "antizionist" is not as sound of a justification as you thought it was.
Because it's no justification at all.

If youā€™re going to make the argument that Israel is settler colonialism then the best analogy would be Liberia, where freed Black slaves colonized West Africa. Traumatized people going back to their home continent and hurting the other people there. America, Australia and Canada are not appropriate analogies, not on the same moral grounds, because they involved white settlers going to another peopleā€™s land with the sole intention of exploiting it for profit.
And indeed, occasionally, people do make the Liberia analogy, when Jews protest that we canā€™t colonize our own homeland. But most people donā€™t make that analogy because they look at it like ā€œJews = White Europeans.ā€ The discourse assumes that Jews are white European colonizers with no ties to Eretz Yisroel 99.9% of the time, and also completely ignores that almost every Jew who relocated to Eretz Yisroel was a traumatized refugee.
Liberia is a case where you can clearly empathize with both sides, both the freed Black slaves and the native population. The conflict looks like a tragedy more than a simple, clear-cut case of right and wrong. This empathy and this two-sidedness are cardinal sins in Israel-Palestine discourse. Which is why itā€™s still relatively uncommon to see people analogize Israel to Liberia. To do so would invite the unforgivable act of empathizing with Israelis.

Acknowledging the Nakba comes hand in hand with acknowledging the Jewish Nakba - the Jewish exodus from the Muslim world, in which 900,000 Jews were expelled from Muslim-majority countries across the Middle East and North Africa.
And recognizing the right of return of people who find their roots in this land comes hand in hand with recognizing that without a Jewish state, the Jewish people can't exist in Eretz Yisrael. We have been expelled and conquered and banished enough times to know that it just isn't a reality for the Jewish people to live safely in this land without autonomy.
So the reasonable conclusion shouldn't be ā€œneither a Jewish nor Arab ethnostateā€, because claiming that everyone living in Eretz Yisrael can live happily and peacefully alongside each other without autonomy is just plainly unrealistic. The conclusion should be that we should respect and recognize every groupā€™s right to autonomy and self-determination in this land, both Palestinian and Jewish. The Palestinian people deserve a nation where they can live in peace and security, free from persecution. The Jewish people deserve a nation where they can live in peace and security, free from persecution. The other groups living in Eretz Yisrael obviously have a right to peace and security, but as far as I know none of them have nationalist aspirations right now. Every group who seeks self-determination in their land deserves it.
Btw decolonizing the Levant/Palestine/Eretz Yisrael means an immediate end to Israel's violence, dismantling Israel and its apartheid, acknowledging the Nakba, and it also means all Levantine peoples are Indigenous to the region.
Including Jews, Samaritans, Palestinian Arab Muslims and Christians, and Palestinian Circassians and Druze. All.
All of these peoples have ongoing historic, cultural and religious relationships with the land. There have always been multiple peoples in the Levant/Palestine/Eretz Yisrael, any other claim is just ahistorical.
A free Palestine means right of return for all Levantine peoples, neither a Jewish nor Arab ethnostate.
A free Palestine is possible.
