Weirdly, I think that could also apply to both the talk show host and the anime detective boy.

You're leaving out some very important contacts on the Cosby thing. When that particular victim, Andrea Constand, first came forward and was in a position to press charges, the prosecutor's office decided that there was not enough evidence to secure a conviction and therefore did not pursue charges. Reasonable people can disagree about whether or not that is the best way to handle these situations, but that's what they did and there was nothing in Constand's power to change it.
So she, in an effort to secure some kind of justice, sued her rapist in civil court. Cosby's lawyers argued that he could not be compelled to testify in the civil trial because doing so would violate his fifth amendment rights protecting against self incrimination.
When this was brought to the attention of the prosecutor's office, they took the extraordinary measure of publicly announcing that there was not enough evidence to prosecute Bill Cosby and that they would not final charges on this matter under any circumstance. This measure, which as I recall did not actually have Cosby's input and in fact worked against him at the time, allowed the judge in the civil case to compel Cosby to testify. You cannot incriminate yourself if there is no possibility of criminal charges. His testimony, which was very incriminating, allowed his victim to get a bit more than $38 million in recompense for what was done to her. It ain't the same as him rotting in jail, but it was something.
10 years later, when Cosby's deposition was unsealed and went public, a new DA used it as the basis for criminal charges. He was convicted, because he is guilty. However, his lawyers argued that the only reason that that testimony existed on the record was because of the court's knowledge that he would not be prosecuted. If prosecution had been on the table, then the judge in the civil case could not have compelled his testimony. If his testimony had not been compelled, he wouldn't have given the evidence that was used to prosecute him. In effect, he was compelled to testify against himself, which the fifth amendment prohibits.
I don't know what the best way to get genuine justice for victims of sexual assault is, I really don't. But giving the state a new way to circumvent the few protections that do exist for criminal defendants cannot be it. Not in an era where abortion and transgender healthcare are becoming crimes.
Boo! Apparently the appeals court ruled the original verdict to be unjust as the judge took into account the testimonies of the multiple other women he assaulted (but hadn't been charged with) while sentencing him, which 4 out of the 7 people in the court feel he shouldn't have been.
Which seems kind of daft, considering the argument was that this was a pattern of behaviour for him (Ben Affleck apparently knew, with one witness saying that when they told him about Harvey assaulting them Affleck responded that he'd "told him to knock that off" previously or something along those lines), that this was a known at Miramax at the time.
But then, they have a bunch of gross weirdos working with the Weinstein's. Like the time Quentin Tarantino wrote a but from Dusk Till Dawn where he drank wine off of Salma Hayek's foot due to that being his Thing. Hayek also being someone who Weinstein was awful towards.

1) We as a society are getting way too comfortable listening to the opinions of people whose job was getting hit in the head for a living. Not exactly new, but like a Jesse Ventura isn't the odd case it once was.
2) The main problem with toxic influencers like Tate, in my opinion, is that they prey on the youngest users of platforms like TikTok and YouTube. They offer easy answers to young people who are insecure in their identities and just becoming aware of how fucking scary the world is, making money off of warping children's world views before they even have a chance to form.
And it's all a pipeline to the extreme right wing, whether it's bullshit "wellness", bullshit "male pride", or bullshit gender essentialism. They all form this interconnected web like the tube system at the central bureaucracy in Futurama.
The fact that this mentally inferior fucking shaved ape with the intelligence of a five year old and the vocabulary of a two year old is listened to by anyone is a perfect example of why I fucking despise the planet as a whole at this point, honestly
Like
The only thing I hate more than the oxygen thieving cockroaches like this nauseating goat-fucking waste of organs that has less worth than the fucking afterbirth that came out with it when it was shit out into this world
Is the mindless cattle who actually view him as a person and believe that the words he shits out of his slack jawed mouth are worth listening to or deserve any kind of tolerance or respect
Full offence intended but if every single 'person' on Earth like Andrew Tate had a stroke or a heart attack tomorrow the human species would be improved greatly in a single beautiful instant

So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????
I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

A real conversation I had with my sister right after my therapy appointment this afternoon:
Me: There's not a one of my personal problems that couldn't be solved by implanting my brain in a robot body.
Sister: I will not dispute that.
Me: He's only doing computers-into-brains right now but as soon as Elon Musk starts asking for volunteers for brains-into-robots, I'm signing up.
Sister: Under no circumstances should you volunteer for something Elon Musk is involved in.
Me: OK, but who else is going to implant my brain into a robot body sooner than is ethical?
Sister: No one!
Me: Exactly!
