New trigger for Hawks just dropped in my brain: Anyone not giving him their full attention when watching TV. Their phone? That's fine. A book? Also fine. It's specifically TVs that make him spiral.

Even something as simple as hesitating to turn from their show to give Hawks their focus is enough to send him right back to that shitty house where his mother would stare at the TV and ignore him as he cries for her help. Not only that, but I don't think Hawks is in enough domestic situations to be aware that this is even a thing for him. At least until he starts spending his downtime with Dabi and the League.

Dabi who finally figures out where Hawks lives and breaks into his house one day. What he finds is a cat with a red feather in its mouth staring at him. Knowing Hawks can hear him through the feather, Dabi immediately says "oh my god. You ate Hawks."

I think so much about Horikoshi intentionally making Hawks the youngest top 10 and pro in this whole war. About how Hawks worked and though so differently from everyone else. About the Commission shutting down and him saying he's free. About Nagant saying Hawks still somehow has that light in his eyes. About how Horikoshi's reasoning may not "Hawks just fast and efficient" but much more than that. About Horikoshi doing all of this so Hawks will be the one leading the transition into a new age of heroes. Wings are often just associated with freedom and hope. Hawks who is the literal embodiment of hero society's cruel and inhumane methods. Hawks who spent more time among villains than any other hero.

I would do anything to have Hawks become a major symbol of change in the story moving forward.
