I DON'T TAKE REQUESTS
Sup I'm Vash I draw and make shitty-grade jokes. Adult person. Soft spots inculde: Himbos and Knife Boys. This is an RvB area welcome to the purple base. Avatar was made by the incredible @bitsby Moderate reblogs of other stuff than my art
@vashiestashie on Twitter
So I just started watching RvB, and found your art of Caboose and I just have to say I am a big, big fan. You're lovely and I hope you are having a good life
Thank you so much for the kind words, I'm glad you like my stuff! And hey, I hope you're doing well too! 💗
Figured I'll join the bandwagon! A splash art for the Simmons' route that I had an honor to make when I was a part of rvbfds project. Hope y'all like it as much as I enjoyed making this piece!
WHAT IS YOUR ARTSTYLE CALLED???? LIKE THE TYPE OF STYLE??? I WOULD SAY SEMI REALISM BUT ITS A BIT MORE REALISTIC THAN THAT 😦😦😦😦
Hey! First of all, thanks a lot. It's honestly flattering to hear it!
I'd say the level of pushing a piece towards realism differs depending on what I'm drawing/painting, but generally as long as the stuff I make is believable it's good enough for me! I think that calling it a semi-realism is pretty much on point.
I also tend to spend more time on parts that I like, or ones that work in favor of believability f.ex. hands of a character, so maybe that's the impression you're getting when parts of an artwork stick out as more realistic than other :D
Today we shine the spotlight on Vash! They worked on a very special ending card. Romance a certain Red Cyborg and you’ll be able to see the fantastic art they’ve made! You can find them on Twitter @vashiestashie or on Tumblr @vashstash.
Idk if you saw the thing about Caboose having a mullet, then I saw your long haired Simmons and I thought about Simmons with a mullet...then I thought about Grif with a mullet...then I thought about ALL OF RED TEAM with mullets!
This is not a request for a draw, simply a request to rotate this image in your mind
Oh my god, I know exactly the image you're talking about!
If you dont mind me asking? When did you get into art/started drawing? I've lurked on your twitter for a bit and always love your art when you post! You style/characters are always so cool and well made! And any tips or advice for a person wanting to try to get into art? Rn I've just been going to Pinterest and copying down art study. anatomy, clothing, etc I see on there onto paper the best I can. Also? Do you think I have any chance at drawing like you in a few years? Or does it take decades?
Hey, not at all! And thank you for all the kind words, I don't know what to say aside from I'm very flattered and happy that you like my art sm!
To answer your first question I started drawing as a little kid and liked it enough to stick with it for longer haha. (The rest of the ask is under the cut)
When it comes to tips I shared some of them, mostly in regards to drawing people and developing the style, in THIS ASK
I think it's still a decent guide to how I approach this stuff if you're interested in it!
I also gave an answer about drawing in THIS ASK about armors, it tackles the subject of simplification and tracing/copying.
Regarding strictly your approach, I think Pinterest is a good starting point- there's a ton of great tutorials there that often simplify complex things into more digestible bits. What I could recommend though is checking out some YT videos on drawing basics that could supplement your studies and help you understand the subject matter. Some YT channels like Proko (anatomy) give you an assignment at the end of the video so it's easier to know what to do with the things you've learned. You can go for the books as well- it's good to see what's your fave approach to learning so don't be afraid to try new things! Giving a go to different approaches and learning about tools is both fun and educational, especially when something makes your brain go "AHA!" after you've been stuck on an issue for too long.
If you're just starting out I think it's good to cut yourself some slack. Everyone has a different speed when it comes to learning things, so don't feel bad if you feel you're going slow at the start. Practice always takes time, but it's usually a case of what does and doesn't work for you. And you know, also the circumstances you're in, how much time you have during the day, what is the goal for your art and all that jazz. That's why it's hard to answer your question about the time, because everyone including me is going to have a different progress to the artist next door. The amount of free resources available is a great help when it comes to accelerating your learning though, and I'm sure you'll find a lot of good solutions there if you haven't already.
Hope you find it helpful Anon and good luck!
RT just put out an open call for questions to be sent in for QvsA.
The submission process: leave them in the comments under the video. This applies across all platforms. They said they'll give it their best shot to answer them.
Also of note:
this is our first time seeing Halo Infinite armour in RvB content (not counting RTX)
the robot arm is real and being shown
Grif and Simmons referred to themselves together as Grimmons
Behold, the longest of the long-hair Simmons I have created! (he's meant to be in a fancy outfit with a lion theme, so his hair is braided to look like a lion's tail). I also thought you would appreciate the sweet looking claw arm~
Oh my gooOOOOD why would you come here and tempt me with the classy braid! I really like the shapes you gave to his hair and the texture as well!
Man. If I end up drawing Simmons with some over the top hairstyle it's on you haha. His arm looks awesome as well! Really pointy which I'm a fan of, plus the lion head is a cool accent- thanks for sharing!
