Mack General Dating Headcanons

He's not one for PDA since he's very professional and extremely reserved when it comes to relationships when it comes to work but after longs shifts, he often finds himself sleepily going over to your shared room in hopes to be held by you. It's hard to be head engineer and ever since he became co-captain responsibilities have only accumulated.

He used to sleep in his own cabin before but now during emergencies, crew members have accidentally found you two holding eachother asleep in the same cabin. Which wasn't planned since you two wanted to keep it private but you're both the captains so you're actually allowed to date, since your positions give you more liberties between eachother(that's the lie you two came up with)

He's obsessed with doing things for you just to receive compliments, he's blushy everytime you congratulate and reward him for doing something for you. His love language is doing acts of service and he loves your praise more than power itself and let's be honest this man craves power quite heavily.

Sometimes he argues with crew members when they haven't done a good enough job in his eyes, he just wants everything to be perfect for the colonists and you, mostly you though. Mack is a perfectionist who often times can end up overworking himself, which is why you had to teach him to lay back and relax. He's still learning that not everything needs to be perfect

He hates it that everyone on the ship is interested in some kind of way in you, the majority having crushes on you cause even after they found out about your relationship nothing changed. Only that they'd be a bit more secretive about their towards you in front of him, but he has overheard people immediately going back to gushing over you when he was out of sight.

Which is why he's now more open with his affections with you, if someone is too in love with you he'd immediately tell them that they have no chance with you. Most of the time he'd give them a punishment like having to work for a longer time that day. Or even purposefully kiss you on the cheek cause he's petty but way to shy to make out right then and there.

Whenever you land on different planets to get the necessary products for the crew and colonists, he'd often try and get you to not leave the ship offering to form a group and join them himself as their leader to make sure things are in control. He's just afraid that there might end being dangerous situations or individuals in the planets.

He hates it when CC tries hard to impress you and make him look bad in front of you, she often blames him for the mistakes this other crew member named mark was his name...I think makes. She's obviously jealous of what you two have since she's been pining over you even before you arrived, having read articles about you and the invincible I so she acts like he stole you away from her.

He enjoys watching the stars from the windows saying how it always amazes him, how even in space they still seem so out of reach and small, shining like the most beautiful gems that haven't been found quite just yet. He'd spend hours talking to you about space and how he's always had a love for it, the constellations were his friends and the stars called out to him in his dreams every night when he was a kid.

His eyes would shine not just from the dim lights in the ship during sleeping time but from the excitement and passion he has for the topics he talks about, also from now having found somebody to share them with unlike with people back on earth or even the crew on the ship. You were different from them and Mack knew it, you were beautiful/handsome sure but that wasn't what made you special.

It was in the way that you talked, walked, expressed yourself, passionately ranted about your passions, and how even with all the headaches he gave you at first you never gave up on him. You still tried to connect with him, to prove to him that you were a good captain and how patient you were when he treated you like you were worthless. At first he did hate you and envied you for your position, but it came from a deep longing for respect and attention after having never found it in his childhood.

Maybe that's why he fell so deeply for you the first time smiled at him, like he was more than anyone ever made him out to be. More than just a nuisance, more than nothing, more than good enough for you. And that's all he has ever wanted from anyone
