The masses have decided: Rule 11 shall be revoked.

After certain events involving an oshi of mine, I am thinking about revoking rule 11. I still very much believe in keeping IRL and Vtuber separate and never letting the two mix at all, but I am willing to be less harsh if the individual is passionate about being a vtuber. February 2025. After successfully building my resume and taking testosterone to be able to do a passable male voice, I am accepted and assigned my model, ready to debut. I spend the week leading up to my debut yaoi-baiting with my fellow male talents, and virtue signaling. My tweets get thousands of likes, and my follower and subscriber count grows. Finally, the day comes, and I am the last of my gen to debut. After the loading screen and lore are finished, I appear, in all my handsome glory. The chat is filled with thousands of adoring nijisisters, both male and female. They expect a quirky joke or flirty pick-up line, but their eyes in horror as I spend the next five minutes screaming every slur I can remember, and yelling every offensive thing ever said online towards any group. The sound of a gun being loaded is heard in the background, and as I finish my rant, the gun is shot, and my model goes limp. The stream is cut. The rest of my gen's contracts are immediately terminated, and their names and images are scrubbed from anything Niji related at all.

The thing that I'm most upset about in the AR Live is how much effort those guys put into it. I didn't watch it, but from the dancing, the singing, and everything, they put everything they had into this! They were excited, they were pumped up, and they were locked in. Forget about everything that's happened because this was before and before, we would have been happy about it.

But when they were supposed to have it, it was put on the shelf. For 15 months. I genuinely believe that they would have left it on the shelf too if their Q3 report wasn't abysmal. And getting completely wiped out by a collab as well? All in all, it does not look good for anyone at all.

And on top of that, four of the livers are gone and things are cut because they couldn't be bothered to re-record it. The company couldn't even be bothered to re-record it. The voices left? The quality of the graphics? The amount of things cut? The fact that some people who paid for the concert in full couldn't even get audio because of copyright issues?

It's ridiculous. How can anyone settle for something like this? I wouldn't. It is not drama to point out the objective fact that you can be happy for your oshis, but can also acknowledge that they and you deserve better than this. Even if they were involved in the controversy, the black screen, and the nonsense in the online discourse, the fans and the livers deserve more than this.

"We should be grateful that they gave it to us at all." And that tells me that you have already settled for eating scraps off the floor from the master's table when you could have had a seat and dined with your fellow man instead.

At this rate, the company will be the one to lower the branch's casket into the ground for burial so that they can let us all down one last time.

(Please, if you need to unplug from all of this, just do it. No one will blame you for walking away.)
