I love your design for the moth villager, they’re so cute! I don’t know what species you based them off of, but most (I’m not sure that all follow this rule) moth species only have very fluffy antennas if they’re male! Obviously this isn’t of any importance to your design which is for a fictional video game about befriending animal neighbors, but I think it’s a cute design choice. Regardless your work is impressive and very sweet! I look forward to seeing more ^^
Thanks!! I based it off of Lymantria dispar dispar, which follows this rule, if I remember correctly.

Amazing!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I created a moth character for animal crossing based on @watermelonhaus moth villager found HERE I named her Orange Dreamsicle because at the time I created her color pallet I was craving orange creamsicles (yum)! Anyways, it feels good to finally get something else out there! I had a lineless and a lined version but I just couldn’t figure out which one I liked better? So I just decided to post both! Plus a close up of her eyes cuz I’m proud of those : 3 And yeah the color of the face around the eyes is different because I changed the color after I had finished the eyes. Anyhoo, I hope you guys like her!

Hello! Your moth villager is so cute! But I wanted to know how you think other types of moth would look like as villagers? Like the ones without fluff around the neck or puffy antennae? This could be an idea for a different model, just like how there are different types of birds!
thanks!! i think they’d look about as you’d expect! just a round or any shape head on a cylindrical body, right? so i think any kind of moth would work. i bet skinny antennae would be hard to work out. they would have to look just right in 3d but i think someone more skilled than me could make it!
the extra fluffy moths could be interesting to think about too.

do you mind if I draw the moth villager you created? It was so cute and I wanted to give it a try!
Hope you don't mind me answering this publicly but I wanted to say that anyone is free to draw something based on the moth villager! Whether it's the moth villager I made or your own take. Go wild and have fun!! If you draw the villager I made, credit is appreciated. :)

i'm sorry if you've been asked this a dozen times or if it seems really ignorant- i'd just like to know how you go about drawing whilst blind? your art is really good!!! is it a special program, or can you see the colours well enough? thank you!
I live in the USA and here there’s a threshold where people past it can be considered “legally blind”. Maybe there’s something like that in other places, too? The threshold for being legally blind is 20/200 visual acuity, iirc, which means what a person with perfect vision can see at 600 feet, the legally blind person needs to be 20 feet away to see the same thing the perfect vision person can.
my visual acuity in my good eye is 20/2300 and I have no vision in my other eye.
I don’t really use any special programs besides a screen reader when my eyes are tired. I tried using on-screen magnifiers but they never worked out for me because I already feel cramped when I look close to the screen. Magnifiers just make it feel more cramped…
My desk setup has to be just so, though. Otherwise my posture won’t be good. Right now my monitor is on a floating arm so that it can be as close to my face as possible while still letting me sit “normally” to touch type on my keyboard. It’s about an inch or two away from my face depending on what I’m doing. I can’t ever see my whole monitor so it’s like having tunnel vision constantly when I’m on the computer or read. This is with glasses on, btw. Right now I’m saving up for a laptop stand for my cintiq so I can sit like sighted artists do when they draw on a cintiq instead of crumpling up and straining my back muscles. AAAAH this got too long I’m sorry
