If someone makes you feel like you have to compete with other people as "candidates" to prove yourself worthy to be in a serious relationship with them, then walk away. You shouldn't have to constantly prove yourself worthy to be loved, and love is not a competition on being the best person available to someone else. Don't let someone only see your value based on what you can do for them, don't let them treat you like a commodity. Because as soon as they see someone they think is a better "commodity" or a better "service" to them, they will leave you for them. You are a human, you are not a service, you are not an object, you aren't meant to be used. You are meant to be loved. The idea that you have to conquer someone's love through fighting with others and proving that you "are different and better than others" comes from romantic books that end beautifully - but in real life, those relationships are often toxic.

so depressing seeing so many young women getting nose jobs and moulding their unique faces into some perfect instagram influencer archetype. whats more depressing are the thousands of people in the replies praising it when they share the before and after photos on social media. and whats MOST depressing is the fact that criticism of this trend is met with “well this is how they can be the most confident in their body, leave them alone!!”
