Ngl, your line from a while back;
"Its my ptsd party and I'll put them through whatever the fuck I want!"
Is so fucking raw, I can hear one of my OCs saying it and ramming a knife into another OCs leg.
🤣🤣 that would be such a cool scene too!

I don’t see a lot of sibling whump. Or family whump in general. A lot of my whump daydreams revolve around a father/son or brothers.
Yes watching your whimper’s team/best friend/lover get hurt is beautiful.
But just imagine whumpee watching their child, someone who was just a baby that they held in their arms once. Whom they raised to be the best as possible, getting tortured in front of them because of what THEY did. The parent is forced to watch their child being burned and beaten. Whipped and sliced up while all they can do is beg and plead for it to stop.
OR IMAGINE
two siblings: the older one is the tougher, more outgoing and has more fight in them. The older sibling is snarky and hard to break. So the whumper finds their younger sibling. Younger by multiple years. And the whumper puts all their frustrations and anger out on younger whumpee, who doesn’t know what’s going on or why they’re going through this torture. But younger whumpee love their older sibling, and they look up to them. And older whumpee’a heart breaks as they watch their younger sibling slowly break apart. Slowly seeing the tears spring to their eyes as they try to stay strong. And older whumpee knows that their younger sibling is trying to stay strong and looks up to them. But older whumpee also knows they can’t do anything, and can only cry and beg for whumper to stop.
No matter the family dynamic, whumper knows the weakest point of their whumpee is to bring the family in. Because that’s what will fully break them.

Whumpee who has had to fend for themselves from a young age (maybe their parent died, maybe they were abandoned, maybe they were a victim of child abuse) and now they have Caretaker who takes care of them when they're sick, gives them hugs when they're sad, helps them when they're hurt etc. and Whumpee breaks down because it's just been so long since someone cared about them like that

“thanks.. dad..” says whumpee, their voice rough and low, as caretaker threads their fingers through their tangled hair
vs
“no please-! dad make it stop! it hurts- please-!” as they thrash and scream, arching away from whumper’s blade as they slice and carve into their skin, caretaker watching in chains

caretaker wasn’t supposed to be doing this, they weren’t a caretaker, and surely whumpee is capable of taking care of themselves, right? surely they’re old enough, so why does caretaker need to be there? they hate it, waking up every morning to an overly excited whumpee rambling about their dreams, they make breakfast and attempt to tune out of the annoying endless chatter, and they spend their evenings praying to everything above that whumpee would just go to bed-
until one day whumpee’s gone. they dropped them off at school without a word, watched them as they happily waved them off before turning to their friends. but now they’re gone, they’re not waiting in that same spot out of the school, there’s no sight of them or their backpack riddled with dozens of cute keychains and pins. caretaker jumps out of their car, heads towards the friends they pretended not to notice, demanding to know where their charge is. the shrugs tell them nothing, so they go home.
maybe whumpee will show up later, the peace and quiet will be nice after all.
a few hours pass, and caretaker cooks them a meal for when they’re home.
they watch the clock tick by and pass their favourite channel as they scroll through the tv, their show is on.
whumpee never comes home, and soon they’re at the police station. the police call them a few days later, and all caretaker hears is “i’m sorry- kidnapped-“
caretaker waits in the silence, they cook two meals every night in case whumpee comes strolling through that door with their giddy smile and endless stories, they save their show so they can catch up, and they practice their “i don’t care about you, but don’t do that again” lecture.
it’s months before caretaker gets the call, and this time the only word they hear is “hospital”
caretaker isn’t worried, or angry or scared, not by whumpee’s pale, bruised face, the frail form or the scars that peak out from the covers. caretaker doesn’t care- and they’re not crying from relief, they’re not gripping their hand tightly as they thank every god above, because whumpee is nothing more than an inconvenience-
whumpee is so small now, they shake and stutter, and the small smiles they manage don’t reach their eyes. when they’re home, whumpee doesn’t talk, not really, they answer caretakers questions and they mumble a shaky thank you when they’re given food, but they don’t ramble. not like they used to.
and caretaker finds themselves filling in the silence, sat on the couch talking and talking, about what whumpee’s missed, their friends and hell- even caretaker’s friends. they hand them the remote to watch their show and they tuck them in at night, and they pray that one day whumpee will smile again, perhaps wake them with that annoyingly cheerful “morning caretaker!” once more, or even just talk about the meaningless things in their life.
the whumpee they let crawl into their bed after they wake up screaming, the whumpee that hides behind them in front of strangers, the whumpee that quietly asks them questions isn’t their whumpee. and all caretaker can think is that if they’d just listened; payed a little more attention to their endless stream of words, their whumpee would be here.

And of course there’s the flipside of parent whump: child whump. Maybe the parent is captured or trapped, maybe the injuries are happening at a remote location too far away to reach but at least the news is telling them how badly their child is hurt. Maybe it’s a kidnapper sending cryptic messages leaving far too much to the imagination. Maybe they’ve both been kidnapped, and the kidnapper realizes far too quickly how to get the parent to cooperate.
Maybe things are strained, maybe both parent and child are adults now and they don’t talk like they used to but that‘s still the kid they raised and loved and maybe getting stabbed would be better than them getting hurt like this.
Maybe the child is a kid who happened to be in their proximity that they half heartedly took under your wing. And they thought they didn’t care, it’s not like this is their kid, except why then is one of the worst things they’ve ever experienced?
Maybe it’s a kid who was hurt, who had nobody, who they decided was their responsibility now. And they promised, they promised, that the kid would be safe. And what a horrible liar they are.
(Tag your favorite characters for this dynamic, I’m curious)

multiple whumpee’s that curl and bury themselves into the corner of the room, squeezed against each other for protection and comfort. no one can get to them like this, with weakest tucked tightly into the stoic whumpee’s side, they’re safe, they’re protected.
caretaker knew it would be hard, but they never anticipated the sheer terror that emitted from the small group. the refusal to leave the corner of the weakest room, the occasional gaps of pain because they’re tucked together so tightly that stray elbows are digging into broken ribs. they try everything; promises, leaving the room, coaxing and bargaining. they get it, they do, but they need to heal and this is no place to do it.
but caretaker gives in, instead bundling up all the blankets and pillows they could find and placing them as close as the stoic whumpee will allow. they add a first aid kit and some snacks too; and by the time sun has risen, caretaker checks in to find them curled up in a nest of blankets, bundled together like a pile puppies.

whumpee’s that are mid recovery; their wounds are scabbing over and their bruises are fading, they don’t flinch or cower away when someone enters their room and they can leave the house now! they can control their panic attacks more than they could, and on some days they can calm themselves down after nightmares. they still wake up screaming, voice cracking though the day once they’ve calmed down, and they still struggle to eat foods with certain textures, spending an annoying amount of time in the bathroom, stomach protesting the food they used to love. they’re not okay, and they wont be for a very long time, they’re still terrified of every shadow, they still need caretaker around to help, but they’re getting better, and there can feel apart of them restore with every wound that scabs over and every bruise fade away.

whumper that thinks of themselves as a teacher, a mentor; whumpee is just their assistant. they film everything they do, present it as a lesson, instructing their students as they drag the blade against their assistant. maybe their brow is creased in concentration, or perhaps they’re chipper and talkative as they go through some of the biology; the reason whumpee screams so loud is because they’re burning such a sensitive area.
perhaps your whumpee is unable to die, or they heal and regenerate over and over again, their torment never ending. whumper shows their students the most vile and agonising ways to torture someone, thinking themselves innocent as they do.

“i think what whumpee means is-“
“stop.”
“whumpee-“
“no. i can speak for myself, caretaker. i said what i said;” their gaze never shifts from whumper’s, cold and empty. “fuck off, you worthless bastard.”

broken whumpee’s that whimper and beg and cry, huddled in the corner of their room with tear stained cheeks and trembling shoulders.. vs broken whumpee’s that kill and destroy, tearing down the world around them so they’ll never be weak again.

whumpee has been trained or conditioned to take certain normal phrases as commands, and caretaker has no idea.
caretaker says “i’ll be back in an hour” in an effort to make whumpee not feel forgotten, but whumpee hears this as “you have an hour to clean the house.”
caretaker tells whumpee dinner will be in just a few minutes, and whumpee panics thinking they only have a few minutes to cook.
“time for bed” means “time to make yourself unseen,” and whumpee scrambles to some random corner of the house to stay out of sight.

delirium in fics is so criminally underrated. like… the angst and the whump alone???? when characters who are burning up from fever or infection see things that aren’t there and say things they don’t know what they’re saying, while their caretakers have to be strong for them by holding their hands and assuring them that what they fear isn’t here and no one is going to hurt them while not outright bluntly saying it’s all in their heads????? the whump and the angst????? why are we not using this trope more often? is so delicious

Whump Prompt #1226
Anon asked:
Do you have any prompts for a whumpee with a comfort object that gets taken away/damaged/otherwise used to emotionally harm or distress the whumpee?
Sure:
“Please, I’ll be good, I promise I’ll be good!”
The item being kept just out of reach.
Or perhaps the whumper ‘toying’ with it - playfully dragging a knife down the front or pretending to drop it just to see the whumpees reaction.
The whumpee tears apart their room/home to find it.
They’re completely unable to sleep without it/knowing it’s not in its usual place.
Even the stoic friend tries their best to look for it (bonus points if they try to do this without anyone knowing.)
Some people might find it funny/antagonise the whumpee over it, after all its just a [___]
Maybe the whumpee breaks down completely and feels no choice but to tell the story behind why the item is so sentimental.
Maybe the whumpee even finds it hard to function without the item by their side - they may even have to get taken out of field duty because of it.
^ basically losing/damaging the item severely compromises the whumpees confidence.
