To my mind Rocket is probably terrified of any sort of doctor. This is borne out by the fact his "kill switch" makes it unsafe to operate on him and he never mentioned this, which makes me think he has never been treated by a doctor. I did a story where the crew finds him operating on his own leg and that sort of behavior seems likely.
Sharing the excellent answers from my friend @practically-an-x-man from when I had multiple questions about Rocket
Me: I've been thinking about this for a few days, but if Rocket got sick, do you think he would need to see a vet or a regular doctor? Or someone else entirely? Do you think he can get sick? (Obviously, he can get injured, we saw, but that's different) do you think he's had to self-teach how to get over sicknesses? Do you think there are foods he couldn't eat? Or maybe because he's enhanced his diet would be more similar to a humanoid? Practically-an-x-man: Hm… let me think about this for a minute Raccoons are already omnivores, so I don't think his diet would be too different from a human/humanoid. He might have to consume more protein and fewer carbohydrates, so probably more meat and stuff than bread or pasta, but overall it would be similar He's a scientifically-enhanced raccoon, not an alien species, so my gut says vet. But on the other hand, doctors in space are probably used to dealing with various aliens with different physiology, so they could probably treat him anyway. There are probably different doctors specializing in humanoid, animalistic, or even mineral aliens like Korg, the same way Earth doctors have specializations for kids, elderly people, or specific conditions/body systems He probably still has taught himself to get over sicknesses, but I'd imagine that's more because he'd be uncomfortable with doctors than because those doctors couldn't treat him

Thanos has Rocket’s best interests at heart, if by that you mean "I won’t be able to squeeze good work out of you if you neglect your health."

It has taken Rocket a lifetime to grow from an abused laboratory animal to a respected, well-loved member of a community with friends and a family. There was even talk, recently, of children, and he couldn't ask for a better life than he has now. It is a sad truth, though, that the more you have, the more you have to lose.

It's hard to believe he is gone. I have an image of him fixed in my head from the last time I talked to him just a few months ago. We talked quite a lot at the PS party.

When I was a kid we had green mercury vapor street lights. When you came through the pass into the valley it was all Christmasey. I've never liked the yellow ones. White are okay but visually dull.
perhaps some will disagree, but i think the world got worse when we changed the colour of the night

I wonder if the floating building was moved during the process of dropping in the fox, then the artist forgot about it when they posted the pic.

A sci-fi race I created, that tends to form extremely close lifelong bonds between partners, has something called the "solitary dance" where the surviving member of the couple does a couples dance without the missing partner. This is very recognizable as it's clearly half of a pair dancing and usually means they are heartbroken and missing their lover.

I just read this after my co worker brought it in. It’s quite good, but ends rather abruptly.

Originally published in serialized form in Raw magazine, the first volume of Maus published by Pantheon Books hit shelves in 1991. Since then, the complete story has gone on to be praised and banned, win coveted awards and outlandish criticism, and cemented itself as one of the greatest Holocaust tales ever penned.

I was at a zoo once and a raccoon was asleep in the fork of a cut-off tree in its pen. It woke up, grabbed the mesh roof of the pen and went along like a furry spider until it got to a hanging pet bed, at which point it lowered itself into the bed and went back to sleep.

In the frames before this you can see he has a long, otter-like tail. That may be an art error but it fills me with dread that this is Hellspawn Rocket and he’s a monster stitched together from bits of Batch 89 and cybernetics. As though 19999 Rocket didn’t have a rough enough time.

Rocket appears to be a Hellspawn in this, or possibly just heavily cybernetized. And note his tail, unless it’s an art error that isn’t a raccoon tail. It looks more like an otter tail, and given that Hellspawn are composite creatures stitched together from various animals I fear Batch 89 may have been grafted together into one monster.

Ever since it became clear how grim this arc is I thought it had "non canon mini series" written all over it. It's a future story or an AU, because otherwise "I am Groot, murderer of billions" would have to be his tagline from here forward.

Are you kidding me? It wasn't enough to completely ruin all the characters in the actual comic, they also had to establish that Heather and presumably everyone else is dead?
Tumblr media
oh and it turns out Rocket's eye got poked out by an evil tree or whatever. sure
Tumblr media
at least there were some flashbacks to Pete's tits out look I guess

So when I go into Wal-Mart I tend to detour through the toy aisle to see if there's anything Rocket related to add to my worryingly large Rocket bric-a-brac collection. And ever since Volume 3 came out I've been saying to myself "The merch must just be lagging."
But there's Spider-Verse stuff there, there's fricking Marvels stuff there. Why isn't Disney/Marvel supporting this movie? Is it because the trilogy is wrapped up and they probably don't have any current plans to continue the series and convince people to buy more toys?
Sadly, that's probably it. You'd think they'd at least have Lylla plushies by now, though.

One interpretation is the religious one. "God has a plan for you, and your immediate creator does not have a final say in how you live out your life." This looks to me to be the one Gunn went with, as Rocket essentially became a chaste hero at the end of volume 3 - a paladin, to use RPG terms. His reward waits for him in Heaven and his mission in life is now to help the helpless. This makes me a bit sad as the implication is that he’d be cheating on Lylla if he finds love in this life. This assumes he remembers the near death experience, of course.
Another is the Fate approach. Much like the God one, this is "Fate decreed that you should exist, and that you have a purpose, the HE was just an intermediary."
Either way, the implication is that a greater power has a plan for Rocket. Whether it be God, the Celestials, the Living Tribunal or who knows what, the point is that someone or something guided the HE to create him.
Hey.
What do you think Lylla meant when she said, "There are the hands that made us, then there are the hands that guide the hands."
How did you interpret that?
Does that phrase impact you as much as it does me?

Note that his arms and legs are the same length, caused by his legs being proportionately shorter than a human’s. This is why he can run on all fours, though his anthropomorphic torso makes this a bit awkward.
