Hey everyone!

First of all, super sorry about the drop off the face of tumblr for the longest time!

There's been a shift in management around here. The system now running this blog (and the sister blog @yourfaveisafactive) is us, Society Grimm! (@societygrimm)

A lot of heavy things have happened that we'd rather not talk about publicly, though you're free to DM us if you're curious.

All that said, we're still keeping our requests closed for the time being and will be sure to make a post stating when they open back up again. Just having some really hard times and we aren't able to focus on this blog just yet.

So, the hard drive in our computer, the only thing we have at this point, died yesterday (November 26 2022)

To get a replacement and have it installed for us will cost $170

Being chronically ill and disabled, we can’t work, we have no income at all and no way to get any money. Our partner system was just denied for their disability claim yesterday as well.

Our computer is our lifeline in the abusive place we live. If anyone can help us pay for the costs of getting it fixed up, please help. Anything helps at all if you can safely spare it or reblog this post.

I'm really sorry if y'all had gotten this before or if there's a post that explains it, but what do y'all mean by 'a fictive' and 'a factive'? I tried looking these terms up but kinda left a little more confused on how these apply to people.

I hope it's not an annoying thing to ask. Y'all can ignore this if it is.

So, this might be a little confusing (assuming you are not a plural system, apologies if you are!), but these terms are used to reference specific types of headmates in plural systems.

Firstly, a plural system is many different people sharing the same mind/body. This could be a symptom of a dissociative disorder, such as DID/OSDD/etc., but there are other forms of plurality that don't stem from these disorders. Every system is different, just like each person is different, so there's really no set definition on what it means to be plural except that there's more than one person inhabiting the body/mind (or there used to be in some cases).

In reference to a fictive or a factive, these are terms that describe certain types of headmates (a member of a plural system) in systems.

A fictive is a headmate that was derived from a "fictional" source of media, such as a movie, show, game, book, etc. This person may be exactly like the character they are derived from or they may differ in some or every way. The important part of what makes them a fictive is the media they were derived from being considered fictional.

A factive, on the other hand, is a headmate who was derived from a source that exists in the outer world, such as a musician, celebrity, YouTuber, etc. Just like a fictive, they can be the same or different from the person they were derived from and the important part of what makes them a factive is simply their source of derivation.
