The Veldt was definitely up there, but I have to give it to Unwind by Neal Shusterman

Read it for 10th grade lit one year and-

One part of the book made our whole class SOB.

Probably our favorite moment in any book, but god that was emotionally upsetting, but extremely well done (I can say if anyone wants to know but again spoilers)

Anyway, that’s our favorite author now and probably sparked our love of psychological horror (if that says anything about the book)
