istg if i see another post with something having too many eyes saying its the beholding, i am going to scream. yes, the beholding is all about eyes, but just because something has eyes doesnt mean its beholding. as much as i hate to quote jurgan lightner " you're thinking too literally. examining the physical categorization, but ignoring the meaning of the thing."

i personally believe that eyes being were they shouldnt be/more than usual is the flesh or the stranger or the spiral. its body horror not beholding. yes, it has beholding undertones, but ultimately something else (again, probably the flesh)

The man is here again.

He’s been here for days

I like the man.

He gives good scratches.

My human is worried about him.

I can smell it on her.

She yells sometimes

but she doesn’t smell angry.

i just think it'd be really funny if a homophobe went to the magnus institute to make a statement, and then got mad at one of the archive assistants for wearing a pride pin or smth and started the whole "who's your boss?" routine, only to find out that the chain of command just gets gayer and gayer.

oh you don't wanna deal with the friendly gay man just wearing a rainbow pin? then feel free to deal with his boss/boyfriend instead, a gnc asexual biromantic man with a vibe that can only be described as "of course you're constantly dealing with the horrors. and have pronouns".

oh, you wanna talk to the manager? have fun complaining about the gay agenda to a guy who gets funding for his institute from his sugar daddy, wears high heels just to make sure people can hear him walking around and know he's keeping an eye on them, and probably switches his gender up every once in a while just to keep the haters guessing.

My Jonathan Sims Headcanons

My Jon is an attractive Persian trans man with vitiligo. He has very dark skin with the light patches of vitiligo giving him a distinctive and unique look. He has long skinny fingers. He is near-sighted but despises his glasses and more often than not decides not to wear them, despite the fact that means he cannot see. After he becomes an Avatar, the glasses are unnecessary.

Jon crochets his own sweaters/vests and is surprisingly fashionable. He has a genderqueer style, mostly consisting of slacks, long skirts, and button downs.

His pronouns are he/they. Jon wears mismatched colorful socks and wears his father’s brown hand-me-down trenchcoat instead of buying a new one that fits.

He is five foot four and fifty kilos. He is autistic. His hair is a point of pride for him because his mother had the same long streaked hair. My Jon looks just like his mother but acts like his father. He has beautiful dark brown eyes that become a near neon green after he became an Avatar.

He is clean shaven because the spot of light skin on his face makes his stubble grow in mismatched. He despises the prickly feeling of body hair.

He’s a prickly sarcastic bitch. He cooks extremely well but always makes too much so he never does. He can play the piano extremely well.

He has social anxiety and tends to come across as meaner than he intended. He is almost constantly stressed. He is always afraid.

His worm scars end up looking like patches of vitiligo. During S2 he had to make use of a cane due to the worms burrowing in his legs.

In University, he was initially in med before he switched to literature. He has a collection of throw blankets and hasn’t slept under an actual comforter in years. He has a bunch of tiny cat statues. He loves antiques.

He has severe texture issues which is why he learned to knit and crochet his own clothes because he can’t stand the feeling of store bought. His clothes can’t be too tight or else he feels as though he’s being crushed.

During Uni, he took gymnastics and as a child he wanted to learn figure skating. He’s frail but surprisingly hardy.

my headcanons for the pet names the magnus archives characters use

jon - dear. you can just hear him saying it to martin can't you. grab me the salt would you dear?

martin - sweetheart. he really only would break out the pet names when jon is being particularly pitiful and he's trying to comfort his boyfriend.

tim - babe, which he uses on everyone all the time. i firmly believe he's accidentally let babe slip out to elias once and still thought about it at night for weeks afterward. if he's being particularly annoying at the time and knows it, scrumpkins.

sasha - not a big pet name user. people have names for a reason. she'll let a darling slip out every now and again with her partner.

melanie - babe, with the occasional love peppered in when she's feeling particularly sappy.

georgie - look me in the eyes and tell me she doesn't radiate hon energy. maybe honey if she's in public.

daisy - pet names? her girlfriend isn't a dog, thank you very much.

basira - same.

elias - dear, in a very sappy and overdramatic way until it becomes his default over time.

peter - no thank you.

gerry - like tim, he really lays the pet names on thick when he's being annoying or goofing off. otherwise a simple babe will do that job

michael - shelley would say the word angel without a shred of irony in his voice because he's that kind of guy. distortion would say darling and rolls the r's just enough to make it uncomfortable

I’ve been thinking of TMA for no real reason, and I really want an AU where after the Change The Admiral still becomes an Avatar of the Hunt, but he remembers Georgie and Melony and stays with them to protect them. This only causes the cult to worship them more since they think they ‘tamed’ him.
