I’m feeling pretty shitty this evening guys. We finally had to say give up one of our dogs today. She is fine, don’t worry, but she couldn’t live here anymore. We could never get her house-trained but we put up with everything because she’s such a loving wee beastie. However in the last half year, she’s started attacking the cats, and it came to a point where the situation was making everyone unhappy.

So, I feel like shit, and cried the whole way home from the re-homing shelter. She’s going to stay there for a bit until the charity can find her a nice home with no other pets, where she can be the spoilt little princess she deserves to be.

Please don’t let this put you off, by the way. If you’re thinking of getting a pet, 100% please go to a shelter. Or, if you are in the horrible situation where you have to part from your pet, get help from a shelter. She was abused before she came to us and it was amazing to see her progress over the last 2 years. 

Just do think carefully about the type of pet - we love her to bits, but in hindsight, a Chihuahua probably wasn’t the best choice for our lives. I don’t regret these 2 years though. We’d have kept on as we were if it weren’t for her developing cat-intolerance, but she deserves a less crazy life. 

I suppose i’m writing this because I feel guilty as hell. Neither of us have had to give up any of our fuzzy friends before. It fucking sucks.  Safe adventures, Little Rat.
