𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 | Your car breaking down was the worst of your worries until it wasn't.
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 | 1.5 k
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 | imprisonment
𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞 | This was something I wrote and posted two years ago but I deleted that account and didn't realize it made that post unreadable. So if you see this one and the 'broken' one they're both written by me.
Tumblr media
As another lightning bolt struck the dark blue sky, you quickly ducked into the large manor. This wasn't what you had in mind when you set off for a one-person road trip to have your car break down and get lost.
"Hello?" In case you were breaking into someone's, you called out into the quiet home, but it seemed too silent to be inhabited.
The cobwebs and dust were more than enough to make you realize that the place had been abandoned, not that you were sure why it looked like a beautiful manor.
"Greta?". A small, sad child's voice called out, making you gasp. Were they alone? Did they need your help? You had just quit your babysitting job to travel, so you were good with kids.
"Hello?" You called out again as you made your way upstairs and followed the child's voice. Your breath catches in your throat when a tall man walks out of the shadows.
"You're not Greta!".
You froze in your spot as the man, well over 6 feet tall, stepped into the slither of light made by the moon through the windows. The porcelain mask on his face hid all his features well except for the dark, rage-filled eyes.
"Get out!" a guttural growl escaped his lips as he began to stalk towards you. The fury in his eyes never changed; instead, they seemed to get darker when you put your arm out in front of you protectively and tried to back away.
"Please! I just need some help," You stutter, taking steps backward as he moves closer. "My car broke down, and I-" your words were cut short by a growl and the man lunging towards you aggressively.
Letting out a terrified gasp, you quickly turned on your heel and ran into the closest room to you. Slamming the door shut, you locked it just in time as fists began pounding on the door.
The man outside the door sounded feral, and his angry growls only worsened. This was nothing like the childlike voice you had heard before.
Sliding down the door, you sobbed, wrapping your arms around yourself before realizing that the noise was now gone. It was completely silent, almost as if it never happened.
You would have talked yourself into believing it was some type of delusion from being cold and soaked to the bone. Until the wall in the closet slowly started to slide open.
Screaming, you threw yourself at the closet door and locked that shut as you wedged the dresser against it.
Between your scared crying and the furious banging, it almost sounded like the whole house was vibrating, or maybe it was just because your entire body was shaking in fear.
"Please-" you begged through the door as you curled into yourself, hoping the man would see sense and stop so you could quickly exit, leaving this crazed man's home.
Glancing around the ransacked room, you guessed that this wasn't the first time this had happened.
Sitting in front of the dresser, you used yourself as another block and dropped your head onto your knees. Then, as the sounds of the man's banging stopped, you cried to yourself.
You knew he was still in there because of the creaky floorboards being pressed as he moved around.
It was almost as if he was listening to your pathetic crying.
Coming to you lifted your head up from your knees quickly with a groan from passing out in an awkward position and still being a bit damp from the torrential rain outside.
Glancing around, you remembered what happened and where you were. You must have fallen asleep waiting for the man to leave you alone.
Halting yourself, you tried to listen for any sounds in the big house, even the tiniest of creaks, but there was nothing, only the sound of rain pouring. This was your chance to get out while you still could.
Standing up slowly, you tried to pick your feet up quietly and walk with a lighter step. Almost as if you were a teenager trying to sneak out while your parents were sleeping, but this was nothing like all those times.
Opening the bedroom door slowly, you peeked around the door for any crazed men. But he was still nowhere to be seen; your next step was to look for a weapon.
Unfortunately for you, the only items in the room were messy clothes, women's toiletries, and a used hairbrush.
Resigning yourself to having no form of a defense weapon, you trudged on, hoping you wouldn't need the weapon in the first place. The man was taller and much bigger than you.
He would win any fight you might have.
Slowly making your way through the hallway, you prayed on every and any god that came to mind for help as you carefully tiptoed down the stairs, trying to avoid any old floorboards that would alert your attacker to you.
The silence was killing you more than knowing that somewhere, a masked lunatic was lurking. Undoubtedly, he knew every hiding spot in the big manor, and it seemed he had hidden doors around, too.
Seeing the manor door insight, you almost cried in relief as you picked up the pace and rushed towards the door, ready to swing it open and run for your life.
You had no idea where you would go from here, but at least you would be away from this place.
Reaching for the door handle, your stomach dropped when it didn't budge. Tugging on it and urgently shaking it, you realize the man had locked you in with him.
"No, no, no," you whined pitifully as you tried to force the door open. Your face felt heavy with tears while you desperately searched the door for any lock you might have forgotten to open.
Seeing nothing, you ran your hand down the wood until it reached the brass key lock and let out a shocked, laughing sob. He had locked it with a key.
There was no way for you to get out this way without it.
You heard noises behind you as you were about to think of another exit strategy. Instead of running, you just freeze facing the door like a child would when put in time-out.
In a weird, childlike moment of fear, you closed your eyes in the false belief that if you couldn't see him, then he couldn't see you either.
The hair on the back of your neck stood at attention when the feeling of being watched overcame you like a sea of hot water. Subtly glancing over your shoulder, you frowned, seeing no one there.
Unless you counted a creepy-looking porcelain doll.
Gulping thickly, you continued to turn, placing your back firmly against the door as your breaths came out ragged and fearful. This was the part in horror movies where dumb idiots like you get killed.
You stared at the porcelain doll perched on the bottom step of the staircase.
Its face was fractured, and it looked like someone had tried to glue it back together. Its dark eyes bore into yours, unmoving, and with lightning cracking through the silence, it left a suspenseful atmosphere in the dangerous situation.
That wasn't the creepiest thing, however...
How had it gotten here?
You weren't naive enough to think that the doll had walked here itself like some possessed creepy Chucky doll. Knowing you weren't alone and who the culprit was only gave you shivers.
Why would he have gone from almost killing you to placing a doll behind you?
At the next loud sounds, you resolved yourself never to want to find out as you pushed away from the door and ran towards the room you had come from, the only place you knew you were safe.
That room would have to be your safe haven until you could think of another plan.
A door banging downstairs and footsteps slamming the floor behind you only made you run quicker as the childish voice called out to you, but this time it went ignored.
Breathing heavily as you successfully locked the door again. You dropped to the floor and peered beneath the door, where you could see the outline of shoes as they stood outside the room.
Crawling to the wall next to the door, you placed your hand over your mouth as you tried to keep yourself from crying again. He knew you were in there, and you knew that he was waiting for you; it was like a game of hide and seek.
A few moments passed as you sat and listened to the rain pelt against the window, wondering if the man would just stand there all night and morning until you tried to escape again.
Hearing rustling noises, you frowned until a piece of paper was pushed under the door. Tentatively picking it up, your eyes widened as you read the bold words, 'RULES'.
The childlike voice calls out once again, this time with a sharp edge, "Follow the rules!"

Get Your Girl

𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 | Paul x female!reader
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 | They thought it was just another night on the boardwalk until Paul catches a scent that will change his afterlife forever.
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 | 1 k
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 | mentions of weed
Santa Carla is a place where the night holds secrets darker than the shadows themselves. The boardwalk gleams under the moonlight, a shimmering array of colors and sounds that lulled both humans and vampires alike.
Those said vampires prowled the night with their senses keen and alert as always as they sought out their next bit of entertainment... or meal. They roamed the boardwalk at night, their shadows blending seamlessly with the darkness, their whispers carrying secrets of centuries past.
On one such night, Paul found himself trailing behind David and the others. The air was thick with anticipation, charged with something new—maybe it was that new strain of weed he'd smoked after they'd woken up.
He could feel the energy tingling on his skin, urging him forward.
That's when he caught a whiff of something intoxicating, a scent that pulled at the primal instincts buried deep within him. This aroma called out to him like a siren's song.
He glanced at David, whose eyes gleamed with a knowing glint. "Follow your nose, Paul," David murmured, his voice low and commanding.
And so, Paul did.
He wasn't the best tracker in the group, but he let the tantalizing scent guide him through the mass of people on the boardwalk. Neon lights cast a kaleidoscope of colors on the area, and the air was alive with laughter and music, mingling with the salty tang of the ocean.
With his senses attuned to the mysterious scent that beckoned him, he walked, Marko and Dwayne, flanking him, trying to keep his focal point on that scent. David followed behind as he watched the usually wild vampire, keeping an unusually calm focus.
As Paul ambled along, the intoxicating scent thickened and danced upon the breeze, weaving its way into his senses with a seductive allure. It was unlike anything he had ever encountered, a symphony of sweetness and floral notes that set his veins on fire.
He followed the scent like a moth drawn to flame until he stood before a group of girls, their laughter ringing like chimes in the night.
Without thinking, Paul leaned closer, his nose brushing against the hair of one of the girls. He inhaled deeply, his senses drowning in her scent, which enveloped him like a warm embrace, flooding his senses with a dizzying rush of desire.
He closed his eyes, savoring the moment, pushing his nose further into her hair, and realized with a jolt of recognition that this was the scent he had been searching for, the one whose scent had called out to him across the night.
Feeling someone touching your hair, you turned around, your eyes wide with surprise, as you caught sight of a guy sniffing you. He was a tall blond with wild hair, but an expression of pure pleasure lit up his handsome features.
Paul could see the confusion flickering in your gaze, the wariness that danced on the edge of your expression. And yet, there was something else there, too, something he couldn't quite name.
You lifted a hand to your hair, your fingers brushing against the spot where he had pressed his nose. The two of you locked eyes for a moment, just gazing at the other.
For a fleeting instant, time stood still. In that moment, Paul saw eternity reflected in the depths of your gaze, a universe of possibilities unfolding before him. But before he could speak, a playful smile danced upon your lips.
Eyes sparkling with mischief, you leaned in to press your nose in his hair and inhale his scent, your expression softening with amusement. "You smell like weed," You remarked with a playful giggle. Your words laced with an enchanting charm that ensnared Paul's senses even further.
Paul blinked, taken aback by your words. He had expected fear, revulsion even, but instead, there was only curiosity. He found himself smiling in response, a warmth spreading through him at the sound of your laughter.
"Can I have some?" You say playfully as Paul takes the joint he had placed behind his ear, the one he had rolled in for himself in excitement for a late-night smoke, and held out to you wordlessly.
Taking the offered joint, you gave him a surprise laugh as you held it. You thanked him with a sweet smile that he hoped he'd see more of, and he moved to speak.
Before he could say anything, however, your friends appeared at your side, tugging you away with a knowing grin. Paul watched them tug you away, his heart heavy with longing.
He knew then, with a certainty that bordered on instinct, that he had found his mate.
With a parting glance, you offered him a smile that ignited something deep within his soul, a spark of recognition that left him breathless in its wake. As you disappeared into the crowd, Paul stood rooted to the spot, his mind awash with a whirlwind of emotions.
A hand clapped him on the shoulder, and Paul turned to see Dwayne standing beside him. There was a gleam in Dwayne's eyes, a silent acknowledgment of the bond that had formed between Paul and you just now went beyond human recognition.
"She was something, isn't she?" Dwayne said, his voice low and amused as Marko and David both realized who you were— it looks like they'll be gaining a sister soon.
Paul nodded, unable to tear his gaze away from the spot where you had vanished into the night as his dead heart began to ache, wanting to rush after you. "She's everything," he whispered, his voice barely a breath against the ocean's roar.
Marko bounces as he grins, a flash of his teeth glinting in the moonlight as he throws his arm around Paul with an excitable aura. "Well then," he said, shaking Paul as Dwayne and David sighed at their 'terror twins.' "It looks like we've got ourselves a mission. Let's go get your girl."

"It was just a joke, Bubs. A joke!" You yell from the back of the truck you'd jumped into as he chases you down the road swinging his chainsaw at you.
"I thought your dancing was amazing..." You lie trying to save yourself from the swing down of the chainsaw "okay I can see you're angry, let's talk later".

Asexual reader rejecting the boys advances.
⤷ female reader, human, asexual, no mentions of race or body type.
🩸— this may become a series of ace!reader x lost boys. i'm not sure what kind of ace it will be? i'm thinking polyromantic ace where it's not sexual but is romantic.
𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒆 𝑺𝒐𝒏𝒈:
We don't have to take our clothes off by Jermaine Stewart
Under the neon glow of the boardwalk, you sauntered with an air of confidence, the rhythmic sound of waves crashing against the shore serving as your background music. The atmosphere was alive with laughter and chatter, the vibrant energy infectious as you made your way through the bustling crowd.
You couldn't help but chuckle as the blond rocker, Paul, sauntered up to you with the swagger of a seasoned flirt, introducing himself with a grin.
His enthusiasm was palpable, his steps like a playful dance as he walked backward, narrowly avoiding collisions with passersby. His energy was infectious, reminiscent of a golden retriever eager to make a new friend.
With a mischievous grin, Paul leaned in, his blue eyes sparkling with anticipation. "So, babe, how about it? You and me, a ride on my bike. I promise to hold on tight if you get scared," he teased, practically bouncing excitedly.
You flashed him a coy smile, patting his shoulder as you gracefully sidestepped his invitation. "I'll pass, thanks,". His expression shifted from exuberance to confusion, his excitement deflating like a popped balloon. It seemed he was at a loss for words, stunned by your rejection.
As you continue along the boardwalk, the vibrant lights of the amusement park beckon in the distance, accompanied by the excited screams of thrill-seekers. Ignoring the lingering confusion of Paul behind you, you press on, leaving his bewildered gaze trailing after you.
It wasn't the first time you'd left someone dumbfounded by your response, and it certainly wouldn't be the last. You were accustomed to navigating the dance of rejection, effortlessly sidestepping advances with grace and poise.
Moments later, Paul caught up to you, his easy grin replaced by a more subdued demeanor. "Sorry if I came on too strong," he offered, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly. "I just thought… well, you seemed interested."
You offered him a reassuring expression, your tone light and playful. "No worries," you replied casually, smirking at the subtle shift in his demeanor. "I'm just not really into the whole riding-on-the-back-of-motorcycles thing, which really means I-want-in-your-pants. Besides, I've got other plans tonight."
The blond's eyebrows shoot up in surprise. "Other plans, huh? Mind if I ask what they are?" he inquires, his curiosity evident. With a wink, you leave him to ponder your cryptic response as you continue your solitary journey.
Paul walks over to the guys, almost in shock, as he tells them what just really happened. Marko smirks, patting him on the shoulder mockingly, and then proceeds to push past him to 'show him how it's done.'
As you strolled onward, you couldn't help but reflect on the encounter with Paul. It was a familiar dance, one you'd performed countless times before with both men and women alike. Some people didn't take rejection so well at times.
Immersing yourself in the sights and sounds of the bustling boardwalk, you couldn't shake the feeling that tonight held something different, something unexpected.
Before long, another figure stepped beside you, his presence commanding yet strangely comforting. This guy was shorter than Paul but blond, too. His hair was styled in curls, and he had a baby face that also reminded you of a Greek statue from a museum.
Marko introduced himself with a charming smile and a twinkle in his eye, his enthusiasm almost matching Paul's in its fervor. "Hey there, beautiful. Mind if I join you for a stroll?" he asks with a grin, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he bites his thumb in a playful gesture.
You allowed yourself a playful smile, intrigued by Marko's forwardness. "Sure, why not?" you replied with a slight shrug. But as the conversation flowed, you couldn't help but notice a familiar pattern emerging, a relentless pursuit that seemed destined to end in rejection.
As you walk together, Marko tries his best to charm you with compliments and jokes, but his efforts fall flat against your steadfast resolve. Despite his best attempts, you sense his growing frustration as you politely deflect his advances.
Eventually, Marko's facade crumbles, his expression a mixture of confusion and disbelief. "I don't understand," he admits with a shake of his head, his shock shining through. "I've never been turned down like this before."
He was the one in the group who could usually best lure people in. A few times during a lure, he only had to look at a woman once, and she was his, but with you, it was like a reversal.
You offer him a sympathetic smile, patting his arm reassuringly. "Hey, it happens to the best of us," you say gently. But trust me, it's not you. It's something else. I'll see you around, Marko." you reassure him, your words echoing with empathy.
With that, you bid Marko farewell as you continued your journey along the boardwalk, leaving him to contemplate your parting words as you forge ahead. He, too, goes back to the guys with a frown; Paul lets out a wild roar of a laugh when he realizes that Marko has struck out.
Enjoying the salty breeze and the sound of waves crashing against the shore, you soon find yourself approached by another guy. With his dark, mysterious aura and brooding demeanor, he exudes an undeniable magnetism.
"Hey there," he says in a low, husky voice as you draw near. "You look like you could use some company. Would you mind if I joined you?" He questions before introducing himself as Dwayne and also keeps a respectful distance.
This was a far cry from Paul's arm that he had slung over your shoulder and Marko's shoulder-to-shoulder walk.
You smile at his straightforward approach, admiring his confidence but also liking how respectful he was off the bat. "I don't mind at all," you reply, nodding for him to fall into step beside you; this was becoming somewhat of a pattern.
Although these guys were weirdly understanding about being shot down. It's clear they're all very handsome, and even though you don't feel anything sexual towards them, you still have eyes, and somehow, you feel safe with the way they react to being rejected.
As you walk together, Dwayne remains mostly silent, his presence a comforting and calming presence at your side. Occasionally, he'll offer a small smile or a nod in response to something you say, but for the most part, he seems content to simply walk in silence.
Despite his quiet demeanor, you find yourself drawn to him, intrigued by the air of mystery that surrounds him. There also feels like an untold story tugging at you, trying to pull you in like a good book in the middle of a rainstorm.
Then again, it felt that way with Paul and Marko, too.
When you finally come to a stop at the end of the boardwalk, Dwayne turns to face you, his expression unreadable but his eyes understanding. "Thank you for letting me walk with you," he says softly, his dark eyes meeting yours. "It was nice."
You return his smile, feeling a sense of warmth and gratitude wash over you. He hadn't tried to ask you out even though you had a feeling that's what his company was for initially. "Anytime," you reply, giving him an appreciative smile before heading off.
After a few minutes, I feel a chill come over me and let out a small gasp seeing yet another guy walking beside me; this one gives off an aura of 'no fucks', and he was the only one who hadn't asked to walk with you but was doing it anyway.
He simply introduced himself as David, then lit up a cigarette.
As you walk together, no matter how hard he tries to charm you, you remain calm and collected, brushing off every flirtatious comment or suggestive wording. It was like David was firing everything he had in his arsenal, but they bounced off you effortlessly.
With each rejection, David's confidence begins to waver, his facade of cockiness slowly crumbling away to reveal a hint of vulnerable confusion beneath. It's clear that he's not used to being turned down, especially by someone as captivating as yourself.
Eventually, David stops abruptly, his expression a mixture of frustration and admiration. "You're something else, you know that?" he says, shaking his head in disbelief. "I've never met anyone like you before."
You smile at his words, feeling a sense of pride swell within you. "That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me," you reply with a soft smile. You realize it's a sad but true statement, but you handle the situation graciously and tactfully.
Offering him a sympathetic smile as you bid him farewell, seeing the other guys standing together not too far away, watching with rapt interest. "Don't take it personally. It's a me thing," you say to David with a slight shrug, as his cool blue eyes can only watch as you continue on your way.
As the night wears on, the Lost Boys find themselves gathered around a crackling campfire, the warm glow casting flickering shadows across their blood-smeared faces. Despite their best efforts, none of them have been able to sway you with their charms, and they can't help but feel a mixture of frustration and disbelief.
"So let me get this straight," Paul says, his brow furrowed in confusion. "None of us were able to win her over? Not even a little?"
David shakes his head, a bemused smile playing at the corners of his lips. "It seems that way," he replies, his tone laced with amusement.
Marko sighs frustratedly, running a hand through his tousled hair. "I still can't believe it," he mutters, his expression mixed with disbelief and admiration. "We've never met anyone like her before."
Dwayne remains silent, his dark eyes twinkling with a knowing glint as he observes the scene unfolding before him.
David breaks the tension with a grin, his confidence undiminished. "Well, boys," he declares, his voice ringing out with a hint of admiration. "I think it's safe to say we've met our match. And what a match she is."
With a collective nod of agreement, the Lost Boys dispersed into the night, their spirits lifted by the thrill of the chase, even if it ended in defeat.

"my perfect little doll is what you are.” + "you look so pretty tied up like this"
Pairings: Yandere!Steve Harrington x GN!Reader

Tumblr media Tumblr media
He'd seen you. He'd fallen for you, and now he wanted you.
You think to yourself that you should have seen this coming, but honestly, there were no signs that Steve Harrington, or King Steve, as you remember him before his downfall, was anything other than a good guy.
He waved to you in the halls and helped you if you were doing something outside of school. Once, he even helped your mom into the house with groceries.
Maybe that's how he got a key to the house.
All those times that he'd randomly popped up out of nowhere didn't seem so innocent now. The amount of times you'd go home to find him helping out one of your parents with some chore they just happened to need help with.
Groceries, lawn mowing, cleaning the pool out… He was always there and somehow always knew that they needed a helping hand.
It was that first moment of his helpfulness that your parents were taken by his charm and nudged you with a wink as they nodded in his direction, clearly thinking about some kind of relationship setup.
You, however, didn't reciprocate the same admiration for Steve. His fall from King was swift and brutal, but you still remember how he had been—a jerk and a cruel one.
Nevertheless, you gave him the benefit of the doubt, knowing people could change. Steve had changed; he took in the younger kids and made a best friend in Robin. They were a group of social outcasts compared to the one pristine pedestal Steve had been used to.
Maybe it was the polite smiles you had given him or the way you allowed him to linger after he had struck up a conversation. You had a feeling Steve had gotten the wrong idea.
Waving it off in lieu of hanging out with your friends, you could help but notice something niggled at you whenever you caught him glancing in your direction.
You should have listened to your gut instinct.
"my perfect little doll is what you are," Steve whispers in your ear as he adjusts the clothing that he had forced you to change into in front of him shortly after entering your home.
All you could do was sob behind the tape over your mouth, knowing that just a floor under your bedroom, your parents were taking their last breaths from the brutal onslaught Steve had inflicted on them.
His good neighborly act ensured they never saw it coming; he even whistled as he attacked them. Seeing him walk back into your room with a calm smile while covered in blood was something you never thought you would witness.
"you look so pretty tied up like this," He whispered, kissing your cheek as he tugged on the rope that bound your arms and legs before he picked you up and forced you out of your home.
He'd stalked you. He loves you, and now… he has you.

Kimberly sighed as she leaned back against the couch, the weight of her friend Chrissy's troubled relationship pressing on her shoulders. The phone call had been another chapter in the ongoing saga of Chrissy and Jason, and Kimberly couldn't help but feel a mix of frustration and sympathy.
Eddie, noticing Kimberly's evident distress, gently placed a wary hand on her shoulder. His soft brown eyes conveyed genuine concern as he asked, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, sorry, just Chrissy troubles," Kimberly replied, mustering a small smile for Eddie. She could always count on him to lend a listening ear. "I think I actually talked her into dumping Jason finally," she added, the sigh that followed betraying her building headache.
She felt pity for what her best friend was about to go through.
Eddie, the resident drug-dealing 'senior' senior of their high school, sat on the floor beside Kimberly, who had set up a makeshift study area with a coffee table strewn with books and study materials. "Wow, I can't imagine Jason will be happy with that," Eddie remarked, his tone reflecting a mix of curiosity and concern.
Kimberly frowned as she contemplated the repercussions of Chrissy's decision. "He hasn't got a choice; Chrissy deserves better than that asshole. Once we're out of high school, she'll see how better off she is without him."
Eddie chuckled, but his eyes were serious, contradicting his light tone. "Out of high school or Hawkins," he quipped, referring to their small town. The comment subtly acknowledged their unspoken plans for life after graduation.
Kimberly's wry smile in response held a mixture of determination and anticipation. She knew Eddie had overheard the conversation, and they both shared a silent understanding of their shared dreams of leaving Hawkins behind.
"I forgot to ask, how did the English paper go?" the brunette asks, remembering the last time they studied together, which was becoming more frequent over time. If Eddie needed her help, Kimberly was always there to offer it.
Eddie handed over some papers with a sheepish grin. His grades had steadily declined before he got tutoring from the pretty brunette, but now they were slowly going back up.
Kimberly's eyes scan over the words on the English paper he'd written in his scrawled handwriting.
"See! I told you that you could do it. If you put in as much effort with this as you do in your campaigns, you'll sail your way to graduation," She says to him with a happy smile, pleased at Eddie's work.
"I'm pretty sure I'm only passing because of you," Eddie chuckles as he scratches the back of his neck, feeling a blush rise from the neck of his shirt.
It wasn't speculation; it was a fact. Kimberly's help was keeping him going, and teachers were off his back.
Kimberly smiles as she looks at the older teen. "You're not just passing because of me, Eddie," she said, her gaze meeting his. "You're passing because you're putting in the effort, and that's something to be proud of. One day, you won't even need me," she teases, drinking from her soda bottle.
"I'll always need you," Eddie says, looking at her with wide brown eyes. The thought of Kimberly not being around makes him sad. It's not every day someone treats him like he's not a freak, and it's even less someone like her was willing to spend time helping him out.
Eddie was grateful for Kimberly's support. His eyes scanned the pages of the English paper, absorbing the words and ideas that had earned him praise from the brunette. It starkly contrasted his usual encounters in the harsh high school environment.
Kimberly, in turn, appreciated the companionship that Eddie offered. She found comfort in the fact that, despite the storm raging outside, there was a sense of calm within the walls of her frequently empty home.
"Such a charmer, but your flattery doesn't work with me." With a sly, joking smile, Kimberly pushes the books and paper toward Eddie with a small smile as they begin to study.
The rain began to beat against the windows, the wind howling through the trees as the storm outside intensified. Lightning flashed through the room, casting eerie, fleeting shadows on the walls. Sirens wailed in the distance, becoming a haunting backdrop to their shared moment of silence.
Kimberly and Eddie immersed themselves in their books, and a comfortable silence settled between them; the atmosphere was warm and focused, but outside, the storm raged on as more lightning struck, but the two ignored it as the sirens mixed in with the loud bangs.
Eddie leaned over the coffee table, absorbed in his books and notes. Though a chaotic mess, he understood it, and that was something remarkable in itself. He wasn't dumb, and he knew it. He just needed a different way of studying and understanding.
Kimberly pointed to a particular section in one of the textbooks, underlining it in pencil. "Remember, Eddie, this part is essential for the upcoming test. You've got this. Just keep going, and you'll be on your way to graduation in no time and giving the middle finger to the man."
The dark-haired metalhead nodded, a determined glint in his eyes. "I owe a lot of this to you, Kimmy. Without your help and encouragement, I don't know where I'd be."
With a gentle smile and her gaze softening, Kimberly looked at her friend. "You've come a long way, Eddie, and I'm proud of you. And I'm always here to help, but you're more capable than you give yourself credit for."
The room took on an intimate atmosphere as the two delved back into their respective study materials. Eddie appreciated the solace that Kimberly's presence brought, a stark contrast to the turbulent environment of high school, where he often felt like an outsider.
As Kimberly flipped through her textbook, she couldn't help but marvel at Eddie's determination. It was evident that his academic struggles weren't due to a lack of intelligence but rather a lack of support. The quiet confidence he displayed in the face of challenges was something she found admirable.
"You know, Eddie, it's not just about the grades. You've got a unique perspective and voice. Don't let anyone make you feel otherwise," Kimberly said, her eyes meeting his. "I think you're selling yourself short. You're a lot more capable than you give yourself credit for. Maybe it's time to believe in your own potential."
Eddie smiled appreciatively, grateful for the academic guidance and the emotional support Kimberly offered. Eddie couldn't help but reflect on Kimberly's positive changes in his life as they continued to study.

Outside the Caligari home, a dark figure shrouded in the shadows of the storm stands watching the teenage girl and boy laugh and work together as if in their own little bubble.
As the night progressed, the intensity of the storm grew. The lightning painted patterns across the sky, briefly illuminating the silhouette of the dark figure. The distant sirens and bangs became a haunting accompaniment to the unfolding scene.
A calculating glint in their eyes hinted at a deeper interest in the lives of these two teenagers. Unbeknownst to Kimberly and Eddie, their bond had not gone unnoticed. Their laughter and camaraderie seemed to be an oasis of normalcy in a world that often felt troubled and uncertain.
A gust of wind rustled the figure's coat, revealing only a glimpse of a face obscured by darkness. Their purpose and identity remained unknown. Only time would tell their intentions and the impact they would have.
In the midst of the raging storm, the two friends studied, laughed, and supported each other, unaware of the ambiguous figure lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right moment to make their presence known.
